Answer: I have used my smoker tube a couple of times only since I purchased it. This smoker tube is a continuous flow of smoke, (until you burn up all pellets inside smoker tube) where the pellet grill does not have a continuous flow of smoke when temperatures are at a higher setting. I am experimenting with putting a small piece of oak wood inside this tube and surrounding the piece of wood with pellets. The pellets do not put enough smoke flavor in the meat for my satisfaction. You will need a small propane torch & bottle to ignite the pellets properly so they will continue to burn!
Answer: I took have a pellet smoker but upgraded from a stick burner. All pellet smokers smoke lighter than traditional wood smokers. The tube will smoke for 4-6 hours depending on quality of pellet. It will add more smoke and flavor to your meat. A pellet grill does make great food as you know but a tube can improve on that. I recommend getting a culinary torch yo light it with. They are less than $20. Also dont be taken in by more expensive tubes. I've used this tube to cold smoke salt and cheese and added to many meat smokes. This thing is sturdy and well built. Worth every penny.

Answer: Depends on what you are trying to do. If cold smoking, this is all you need, but if you want to be hot smoking, you will need another heat source. Conventional smokers are intended for smoking at temperatures above 200F and are very difficult to use at lower temperatures, while cold smoking is generally at 90-120F. This tube, used by itself should produce heat in the cold smoking range which will add flavor but not "cook" it.

Answer: Humidity or absorbed water may be the cause of your problem. One easy way to find out or fix the problem is to microwave your pellets. I fill my tube with the amount of pellets I want to use, dump the pellets out onto a plate and spread them out in a thin layer, microwave for two or three minutes (avoid getting them hot enough to burn - they’ll start smoking first), then return the pellets to the tube and ignite them with your torch. This has worked every time for me.

Answer: Cold smoke is just a temperature. This smokes at a very low temp so you can use it to say smoke cheese. It's not like a traditional smoker. It ahouldnt get hot enough to melt it.

Answer: I've had an issue keeping this lit, and I use a MAPP gas torch to get it going. As long as the pellets are dry, and packed tight by tapping them in, it shouldn't be a big deal. If the grill lights at that altitude, the smoker should too.

Answer: I found that some brands are better than others, Traeger works the best for me. I use a propane torch to light it, it takes some time. I make sure it has a flame of several inches when lit. I really like the LIZZO, even better than the Amazin tube.

Answer: I have not smoked salmon. I cold smoke cheese in cooler weather, vacuum seal and enjoy year round. Yes it should work but it provides smoke for about 4 to 5. So you will need to reload several times. The tube will be hot, wear gloves. Most cold smoked salmon recipes call for 18 to 24 hours of smoke after a curing brine. Also most call for a temp under 80 degrees F so must be done in cool weather.

Answer: It will add smoke flavor but tot in the truest sense of a smoker as a smoker is designed for low heat cooking 180-250 for long periods of time like 4-24 hours. That being said if you want smoke flavor this will help add that flavor you don't get on propane. If you want to smoke with it on the grill place meat off heat and keep temp low at 225 appx and use the smoke tube and you can use it as a smoker but for true smoking a standalone smoker is the best option for tough cuts of meat that need time to break down the meat

I was thinking of mixing some chips in to see if that would work, but decided not to because it would be a real problem in you had to re light the tube. It is finicky and you have to follow the lighting instructions with pellets or you have a problem keeping it burning even with pellets.
Answer: I have mixed a few chips in with the pellets to add some extra smoke/flavor without any trouble. But the chips need to be completely surrounded by pellets and not touching each other, or the burn will slow to a stop. It will not work using chips alone.

This tube needs a end cap after you lite the pellets. Even if you let them burn for 5 to 10 minutes and you lay it down flat the pellets fall out, you then need to stand it up and relight the pellets or leave it laying flat and use a propane torch to relite pellets. If you leave it standing in a up right position its ok. I ended up making a end cap with holes drilled in it, after it starts burning and you blow out the fire and put my home made end cap on its smokes great laying it down. It does a good job by doing this, They definitely need a end cap for this. If your bbq is tall enough to close the lid ok.

Smoker tube works great. You will need a small torch of some kind to ignite pellets, takes a little time. I bought a basic torch with an igniter built in. Most folks use little propane gas bottles, I use the same type but with map gas, which burns hotter and lights in less than a minute. I bought trager pellets, no experience with others. Once the pellets ignite - get a flame - let them burn for a bit and then blow out. I've had no burn issues, fill the tube and it does burn for 4 to 5 hours. Since this is cold smoking - best done when temps are low outside - I won't be dong any cold smoking here in Arizona during the summer:)
WB Halper : Perfect accessory for my gas Weber grill
This has transformed my old Gas Weber BBQ into a very functional smoker. I placed it on the side away from the tank, above the front-to-back burner, turn on the burners until the smoker ignites and put the meat on the grill. With one burner turned as low as possible (and the others off) the Weber maintains a temperature of 210-225 for hours...the actual temperature is a function of ambient temp and wind. We’ve successfully made chicken, ribs, brisket and various other cuts of beef.
Is it as exact as a thermostatically controlled, pellet-fed Trager? Nowhere close. But I’m not a competitive grillmaster and the results taste really good...if I can get 95% of the way there for $13, I’m happy. :-)

I looked at many pellet smoker tubes online, and chose this one because it was inexpensive. I am very happy that I chose the LIZZQ 12" pellet smoker tube! It is heavy, good quality, and well put-together. I watched a few videos showing how to start these things, and I followed the instructions on the box. I used Traeger pellets (don't know if it made the difference or not) and they lit just fine. The flame went out a couple of times in the first 2 minutes, but I just relit them until they got a good flame going. Then I let it burn for about 10 minutes. I didn't actually have to blow out the flame, as it went out by itself and started producing smoke, so I laid the tube down across the burners in my grill. This was actually a mistake, as I was smoking cheese, and when the burning portion was under the cheese, some of it melted and dripped onto the smoker tube (the instructions explicitly say not to let food or liquids drip onto the tube...Now I get to see how it cleans up!) Anyway, when I saw my cheese melting, I moved the tube onto the grill next to the cheese. It produced more than enough smoke to fill the whole grill area.
I've only used it once so far, but so far it's a Rockstar!

I don’t know why I hadn’t looked into these before. These are great for adding smoke. I have a wood pellet drill so I don’t need them when smoking with heat. However, they work great for cold smoking I got it specifically for smoking cheese and the outcome was great. Almost too much smoke, but that can be controlled by reducing the pellets and smoke time. I can see how these would be great for someone with a gas grill. The heat comes from the grill and the smoke comes from the tube. I would recommend buying pellets in large bags, not the small bags. It’s much more cost effective, especially once you smoke more.

It works great. I tried it with wood chips first because that's what I had. I packed them as tight as I could and only got about an hour of smoke. That's not a negative for this product. Wood chips are big and there is a lot of space in between. I think and hour was good. I'm sure when I get pellets this will smoke for a really long time. Very good quality too.

This works better than I thought. You must follow the instructions to get a good burn going. It’s not hard, just don’t rush the process. I used this on my treager series 34 grill with treager pellets and no power. Just pack it well, light the end and let it smolder. It produces a lot of smoke, but does get a little warm so if you’re smoking cheese like I did the first use, make sure it is at least 8” away from the tube just to prevent possible melting. If you want to cold smoke, give this a try.

Bought 2 of these for my Traeger smoker. Baked them in the oven on 400 for 40minute to burn off any manufactured oil on them, like the instructions say to. Filled them up with cherry pellets.. Lit them up with a propane torch. Let the pellets stay on fire for about 5 minutes before blowing out. These things provided a ton of smoke. I probably only needed one.
This provided the extra flavor I wanted. Meat was nothing like I have ever had with just the Traeger alone.
I should consider getting a funnel to use when filling these up so I don't drop pellets all over the ground. Dumped the ashes on around my citrus trees for some added nutrients.

I bought this 12 inch tube specifically to try to cold smoke cheese but now use it for almost every cook. It’s been great. I would recommend using a torch lighter to get it started and letting it burn for 8-10 min or it won’t stay on. I tried to use it for shorter smokes by filling it only half way but had a lot of trouble with it staying on so just ended up buying a 6 inch tube which also works great. Little tip, you can use gel hand sanitizer closer to the front of the tube to help the pellets stay lit b/c of the alcohol content.

I wanted to try smoking meat for a long time but didn't want to invest in a smoker this has been the perfect combo it allowed me to use my propane grill as a smoker and give just the right amount of smokey flavor not too much not too little. This can be tricky to light but I found if I leave one end on my propane burner on high it usually likes in no time and then it's just blowing out the flames before they get out of control but once they're out it smokes great for at least 2 hours and your meat will have an amazing flavor of whatever pellet you use . Since I knew I wanted to do a 4-Hour smoke I just bought two tubes and I've had no problems I even did a smoked brisket turned out great my family keeps begging me to do another.

Marked a 2* warmth because that's not its intended use. No joke, this smoke stick makes it TOO easy to infuse flavor. I did pork chops and brats the first night and then a variety of fruits the second night (pears, apples, avocados). If Ron Poeil had invented this, he would've cried shame on the Popeil Rotisserie. Literally follow instructions. Light it, let it burn a few, blow it out and you don't have to worry about your smoke anymore. This is high grade steel, well engineered. Buy one! Heck, buy two and give one to your best friend!

It does smoke and yes for 5+ hours (depending on wind and your bbq size/temperature).... the down sides is sometimes I only need 2 hrs smoke time and it becomes hard to light with a propane torch (mechanics style not kitchen) it is also not easy to clean the inside to remove all the residue... the ashes come out but the brunt drips (you can see some on the outside) are not easy to get out... I found that if you have a good heat resistant glove ( not the one supplied although that's great for handling other things *pic 2*) and you leave it empty and on the bqq when you pre heat it does clean most and if your doing a 500° preheat to clean your bbq it does take less effort to light and stays cleaner longer

Bought this smoke tube for my smoker to try some cheese for the first time. Cut up some blocks of mild cheddar and Colby Jack. While the cheese won't be ready for several weeks, the smoke tube worked awesome! I filled it up and lit it with a torch. I had a steady stream of nice white smoke for the 3+ hours it was in the smoker. Never had to re-light it and it only burned 1/3 of the pellets, if that. Def would recommend this for anyone looking to cold smoke or add more smoke to your cooking. Def a good deal.

Tried for the first time yesterday. This is an item you need for short time smoking for maximum amount of smoke flavor. The propane bottle lighter worked better than lighting on stove. Don't set the tube under meat to be smoked, because dripping fat will make it flare up. This item is well made. For a short cook time of less than an hour, I only used about 1/4 of capacity which was more than enough to smoke chicken thighs and sausages. This worked well.

This product is a GREAT solutions!! I was going to buy a big smoker in order to try to do real BBQ stuff. This makes a separate device completely unnecessary.
In my first test I smoke 4 steaks. My total time was two hours. I did them over very low (225 degree) heat and at the end I used a BBQ sauce that matched my wood pellet type - Mesquite. Hands down, these were the best tasting steaks I have ever served up.
I am blown away by the effectiveness, ease of use and great price of this item. I will be giving these as Christmas gifts this year, I am so impressed.

I have a Komodo style grill and love the ease of use and the smoke flavor I get from it but wanted to try a pellet grill. You can never have too many grills, right? Well I bought a Camp Chef and couldn't be happier with teh operation and if you've never tried a revers sear steak you are missing out. What I was missing out on though was a good smoke flavor. Even after cooking a porkbutt for 10 hours on my pellet grill it didn't have anywhere close to the flavor I was getting with my Komodo style.
Enter this little tube! I used it while smoking a pork loin this past weekend and the results were incredible. Lot's of great smoky flavor. Could not be more pleased. Super simple to use and lasted over 5 hrs. Highly recommend for anyone that is disappointed in the smoke flavor of the pellet grill alone.

I bought a propane grill instead of wood pellet so that I could cook faster when needed without waiting hours. But I wanted the option to smoke food on days that I'm not in a hurry. This worked great for smoke flavor. Fill it up with wood pellets. Light it (I used propane torch) and let it burn for 10min. I cooked on low heat and this smoked for hours leaving a light smoke flavor taste. I'm not sure I will even purchase a pellet grill after using this. Reccomend this!

I can't believe people are using propane torches to light these smoke tubes.
There's an old saying "you only need to be 10% smarter than the equipment you're working with" and to me wasting time standing over a pellet tube with a propane torch in hand trying to light them is simply a ridiculous waste of time not to mention expensive.
Like I said you only need to be 10% smarter than equipment you're working with, that's why I use a shot glass and 91% alcohol to light my pellets. it's far cheaper and much safer. Once again you only need to be 10% smarter than the equipment you're working with so please ( don't light the pellets on fire in the shot glass)
91% alcohol burns very hot and very clean which means unlike lighter fluid it leaves absolutely no residue and imparts absolutely no flavor.
I simply take an old shot glass, fill it with pellets then pour just enough 91% alcohol to cover the pellets. I let them soak for about 5 minutes while I prep the BBQ. Unlike water alcohol will not cause the pellets to swell.
When I'm ready to light the tube I simply pour off the excess alcohol, drop the alcohol soaked pellets on top of the pellets in the Smoke tube and light them. in less than a few minutes your smoke tube will be billowing clouds of smoke.
Be forewarned don't Let the pellets in the Smoke tube flame too long as you will ignite too many pellets and it will generate billowing clouds of very dense smoke and burn your pellets up much faster.
Although I will say that being able to generate dense clouds of smoke comes in handy sometimes, for example if I want to cold smoke a steak before grilling it,
When cold smoking a steak I'll let half the tube catch on fire blow it out and put it in the smoker. Then I Fire the pellet grill up for just one cycle, when it hits a hundred and fifty degrees I unplug it so it doesn't go through the fan cool down period, this allows the pellet in the burner to slowly burned down. If the temperature in the smoker drops below 90 degrees I'll plug it in for another cycle,
I let the steaks smoke over Mesquite until the internal temperature of the steak reaches 100 degrees at which point I pull it and post sear it on a Weber with lump charcoal to the final temperature. If you like extremely strong smoke you can let the steak cold smoke until it reaches 120 internal. Pull it off the barbecue and let it rest until it drops back to 100 internal and then post sear it.
If I'm using the tube for say ribs or pulled pork then I only let a small fraction of the pellets catch fire before blowing them out. Using this method the tube will run for about 5 hours.
By the way It takes less than a half an ounce of 91% alcohol to light the smoke tube meaning that a $2.50 quart bottle of 91% alcohol is enough to light your smoke tube 64 times making it far less expensive than using those ridiculously expensive disposable propane cylinders.
The bottom line is this is an excellent product for any BBQ. I find it almost indispensable in my electric cooker for smoking fish.
If you're interested I'll give you a little background in my barbecue endeavors along with some tips that I picked up over the years.
My wife and I have been involved in competitive BBQ. Since the 1970s prior to an injury that disabled me, my lovely wife and I traveled the country in motorhomes towing whatever BBQ we could afford to Bbq competitions.
As time went on and we started winning more and more Awards picking up sponsors along the way we were able to upgrade to a custom-built 40 foot Class A Diesel Pusher towing a custom-built Klaus BBQ pit.
Over the years we've developed several award-winning recipes and even though we are now retired from the barbecue circuit we still like to barbecue, but on a much smaller scale.
After 50 Years of cooking on large stick burners I never thought I would ever even consider a pellet smoker.
I've cooked on everything from a klaus custom built BBQ Pit, off the shelf Gator BBQ Pits... Green eggs, Weber Smokey Mountains and Ugly Drum smokers, heck one of my favorite BBQs was an old dryer drum..... and now I can add pellet grills to that list and I have to say I think at this point next to a stick burner they are my favorite.
We have 2 horse ranches one in California and one in Montana and unfortunately that means we simply don't have the time anymore to sit around babysitting a stick burner for 12 to 14 hours.
But we still love our barbecue so we decided to give pellet grills a shot, at first I wasn't overly impressed with them. they take quite a bit of adjustment to technique to make them work right. But with the proper technique they can produce BBQ that's just as good as the best competition stick burner.
With that said this is probably one of the best accessories I have found for your pellet grill. It is easy to use and allows you much more precise control over how much smoke is being generated by your barbecue.

That's where this tube really shines it allows you to very precisely control the amount of smoke being generated in your barbecue. It also allows you to cook using generic cooking pellets while saving your good flavor pellets for the smoke tube..
Generic competition blend pellets produce a very mild smoke, you can add Mesquite to your pellet tube to bump it up a notch or if you really want strong Mesquite flavor fill the hopper with Mesquite and a tube with Mesquite but you need to be careful again not to over smoke the food.
It also allows you to mix and match wood flavors, for example Apple in the hopper and Cherry in the Smoke tube.
I find the pellet tube works best with Alderwood and an electric smoker for smoking fish.
I find that stick burners, pellet grills, charcoal grills all have a tendency of massively over smoking fish. So I have a small electric smoker that's dedicated to doing nothing but fish and I must say This smoke tube works amazingly well in the electric smoker for fish..
The bottom line is you're probably going to want to buy two of these.
Cornelius : Indispensable tool, but forget the propane torch for lighting.
I can't believe people are using propane torches to light these smoke tubes.
There's an old saying "you only need to be 10% smarter than the equipment you're working with" and to me wasting time standing over a pellet tube with a propane torch in hand trying to light them is simply a ridiculous waste of time not to mention expensive.
Like I said you only need to be 10% smarter than equipment you're working with, that's why I use a shot glass and 91% alcohol to light my pellets. it's far cheaper and much safer. Once again you only need to be 10% smarter than the equipment you're working with so please ( don't light the pellets on fire in the shot glass)
91% alcohol burns very hot and very clean which means unlike lighter fluid it leaves absolutely no residue and imparts absolutely no flavor.
I simply take an old shot glass, fill it with pellets then pour just enough 91% alcohol to cover the pellets. I let them soak for about 5 minutes while I prep the BBQ. Unlike water alcohol will not cause the pellets to swell.
When I'm ready to light the tube I simply pour off the excess alcohol, drop the alcohol soaked pellets on top of the pellets in the Smoke tube and light them. in less than a few minutes your smoke tube will be billowing clouds of smoke.
Be forewarned don't Let the pellets in the Smoke tube flame too long as you will ignite too many pellets and it will generate billowing clouds of very dense smoke and burn your pellets up much faster.
Although I will say that being able to generate dense clouds of smoke comes in handy sometimes, for example if I want to cold smoke a steak before grilling it,
When cold smoking a steak I'll let half the tube catch on fire blow it out and put it in the smoker. Then I Fire the pellet grill up for just one cycle, when it hits a hundred and fifty degrees I unplug it so it doesn't go through the fan cool down period, this allows the pellet in the burner to slowly burned down. If the temperature in the smoker drops below 90 degrees I'll plug it in for another cycle,
I let the steaks smoke over Mesquite until the internal temperature of the steak reaches 100 degrees at which point I pull it and post sear it on a Weber with lump charcoal to the final temperature. If you like extremely strong smoke you can let the steak cold smoke until it reaches 120 internal. Pull it off the barbecue and let it rest until it drops back to 100 internal and then post sear it.
If I'm using the tube for say ribs or pulled pork then I only let a small fraction of the pellets catch fire before blowing them out. Using this method the tube will run for about 5 hours.
By the way It takes less than a half an ounce of 91% alcohol to light the smoke tube meaning that a $2.50 quart bottle of 91% alcohol is enough to light your smoke tube 64 times making it far less expensive than using those ridiculously expensive disposable propane cylinders.

Ryanz519 : Quality, heavy duty metal.
It works great. I tried it with wood chips first because that's what I had. I packed them as tight as I could and only got about an hour of smoke. That's not a negative for this product. Wood chips are big and there is a lot of space in between. I think and hour was good. I'm sure when I get pellets this will smoke for a really long time. Very good quality too.
Ed : Not worth the Money
Tried this smoker tube this last weekend. I followed the instructions on the box..
Problems are:. After you get it lit wait about 7 Minutes with the tube straight up to get the pellets buring with a flame. Turn the tube sideways and the burning chips fall out. Makes a big mess. Should have some kind of snap lid that is ventilated to keep the pellets in. I did pack the tube as the instructions recommended but no matter what I did the pellets went out. The longest time I could get smoke was about one hour.
Steve : Perfect accessory to supplement my Traeger grill
i absolutely love my Traeger grill, but honestly, I was a bit disappointed that it did not impart more 'smoky' flavor. I purchased this smoker tube and have used it every time I fire up the Traeger. I consider this a necessary accessory to any grill.
After many uses, the outside has accumulated crusted on burnt carbon which I cannot scrape or knock off. I ended up purchasing another tube.
My only other comment is that it is advertised as providing 5 hours of billowing smoke. I have never gotten it to smoke this long, 3.5-4.0 hours is typically maximum (even when using various brands of pellets). Regardless, this tube works very well and is extremely well-made. Highly recommended to try.
Chaz : Great for first time pellet smokers!
I have been using this guy every time I smoke my food now. It just soo easy to fill this thing up with some pellets, close the door, and have smoke for 8 hours. I’m using a master built electric smoker, and I just put this in the bottom of it. It says to keep away from drippings (I guess they are worried about the liquid putting the pellets out) but I have never had an issue just leaving it on the bottom of the smoker. I use this over the built in wood chip tray my smoker has. Im not a competitive smoker, I just like food so if your like me and just want to smoke your food with as little effort as possible, this is your go to. I also never thought about the fact that you can put this in your grill to smoke your burgers if you wanted to. I think the next one I get will be a little bigger in hopes to produce a little more smoke.

this thing works great. the smoke box in my electric smoker is unreliable and doesn't work well for cold smoking. purchased this to remedy that. and it fit the bill fantastically. have used it with chips and pellets. both work well. although i prefer to use chips, more and better flavored smoke. tube works exceptionally well for cold smoking.

Lit them up with a propane torch. Let the pellets stay on fire for about 5 minutes before blowing out. These things provided a ton of smoke. I probably only needed one.
This provided the extra flavor I wanted. Meat was nothing like I have ever had with just the Traeger alone.
I should consider getting a funnel to use when filling these up so I don't drop pellets all over the ground. Dumped the ashes on around my citrus trees for some added nutrients.

Seems like a great concept, but doesn’t work.
We have been smoking meats for years with pellets. Tried this gadget and it did not work. Even went out and bought a torch as described in the directions since we only had small lighters. The pellets burned in about an inch and then died out. There was over 80% of the pellets intact in the tube, Not burned.

We like the "smoke" flavor of grilled foods and our pellet grill adds smoke flavor but not enough. We bought one smoker tube and it burns about 4 hours and adds smoke but on overnight cooks I want a heavier smoke due to the thickness of the meats that require 12-20+ hours so added this second tube. I mix both pellets and some wood chips to layer the smoke and these work perfectly. I don't clean so much as shake out the ashes and ready to go. Very pleased but highly recommend adding a small propane torch to light the pellets because it takes a while and the torch is less than 30 seconds and you are ready to smoke food and your family and friends will be happy.
Tony : Excellent value for my needs
I put this in my Traeger pellet smoker and this holds the extra pellets in the cooking chamber to smoke my food. That's all I need. I don't care if the steel gets discolored because everything will get dirty when you're smoking and applying heat with grease and moisture.
This stays clean even if it changes color a little bit, big deal!!! Why would you care about the color darkening, that's just what happens with metal in those conditions!! If you're worried about chemicals or whatever, burn a tube of pellets out in the open the first time and that should release any "harmful chemicals" you would be afraid of (not that they would spray anything on a piece of metal).
The hex cross-section helps it stay stable on any grate and doesn't roll around so I'm very happy about that bonus.

So glad I got this cool little smoke maker! We have a fairly large smoker-bbq grill but I always want more smoke flavor!
I used this on chicken quarters and filled it with hickory wood pellets and it smoked for 4 or 5 hours! worked like a charm! I did not have to mess with adding wood chunks to the charcoal either. The sack of pellets I bought will last a long time and I have the wood smoke flavor with little effort! Love this gadget!

I've used the pellet smoker tube for a week now once every night and I'll be honest, my food not once has had that smoke taste. Part of the problem is I feel it's too small to hold the required amount of pellets to smoke for hours like the title claims. I tried to position it across different parts of the grill and no matter where, on direct heat or far away from it, this things burns for about 1 hour and 30 mins if your lucky then you have to refill it so for me it's a no go. I'm going to go back to wood chip and aluminum foil and just make smoke bombs because this thing doesnt burn long enough. When it is rolling the armpit of smoke coming off is like that of a single match.
JJ RAD : Easy way to smoke food inexpensively
Smoker tube works great. You will need a small torch of some kind to ignite pellets, takes a little time. I bought a basic torch with an igniter built in. Most folks use little propane gas bottles, I use the same type but with map gas, which burns hotter and lights in less than a minute. I bought trager pellets, no experience with others. Once the pellets ignite - get a flame - let them burn for a bit and then blow out. I've had no burn issues, fill the tube and it does burn for 4 to 5 hours. Since this is cold smoking - best done when temps are low outside - I won't be dong any cold smoking here in Arizona during the summer:)

I works well! Fairly heavy-gauge steel. I admit, I figured, for $10 less than the "big name" smoker tube, this might be flimsy. It is not!
I don't know that round would have been a problem, but hexagonal works fine. And it holds more pellets than a round tube of the same diameter. (A good geometry problem, for those so inclined...)
It works reasonably well with chips, but I only get about 2 hours of smoke. Pellets smoke 3-4, depending on vent settings.
I am a happy customer!

SAB : Don’t need a torch for this...
Works great, I get about 4.5 hours of smoke when fully filled. I don’t have a torch and didn’t feel like buying one just for this, so followed another reviewers method of taking about a shot-filled glass full of pellets and letting them sit in isopropyl alcohol for about 10 minutes while I get the grill ready (all I had was 70% and that worked). Lately, I’ve been soaking them in some tiki torch fuel that I had and that seemed to work even better. Once soaked, I remove them and place them on top of the tube. It lights quickly and I leave it lit for about 7-10 minutes before blowing it out and lay down on the grill.
Baker : Works great! Lots of smoke.
Tested this thing last night. Works great; good smoke flavor. Filled full of pellets and smoked fish in the propane bbq. When finished, shut down the propane and the pellets kept smouldering as expected. I would have left it burn out (2-3 hours probably) but the missus started complaining about the smoke filling the house so I got a brilliant idea to douse the contraption in water to shut it down & keep the little lady happy. I set it on some gravel and hosed it down - viola' no more smoke. Then today, prepping for tonight's game hen, I retrieved the unit and tried to knock the pellets (burned and unburned) out. Well, the pellets, when hit with water, swelled up overnight and glued themselves inside the unit. Took me close to an hour to pry, drill, chisel and knock out what overnight, had become a compressed block of wood (aka particle board). It's now ready to fire up again however given maybe an hour or so cook time for the hen, I'll only fill the thing about 20% full of pellets. Tomorrow I'll slow smoke some baby backs and try the 3,2,1 approach with propane so I'll fill it full. We'll see how it compares to my log burner. My only complaint is there was no instructions nor warning about terminating the smoking with water.

I've used one of these in my traveling Weber grill and liked it so much I had to buy 2 more. One is for my large Weber grill at home and the other is for my grill at our lake cabin. I haven't used pellets yet because I have an abundance of mesquite available to me so I use my band saw to make 3/4"x1/2" slices/chunks of mesquite to put into this tube and light'em up at both ends with my small propane torch. The pellets would be convenient if I want to use apple, hickory, or some other flavor, but Texas/Oklahoma mesquite fits the bill. I'm going to start using longer pieces of mesquite so I don't have to be at the band saw as much. The trick is to light the wood chips and let them flame up about a minute then close the grill lid to smother the flames and then sear the fare, place it on second rack, then vent the grill just enough to maintain the smoke. I used to just put a 1"x4" puck or two of mesquite right on the grill over the sear burner but they will eventually flame up and burn the fare if not careful. I chose this particular tube because it has 6 flat sides and I can grip it with gloves or tongs to stand it up to add chips if I need to increase the smoke time. By the way, I don't need 5 hrs of smoke with the grilling fare. I get along just right for steaks, brisket, prime rib, pork loin, slabs of ribs, fish, etc. just enough flavor to enhance without overwhelming the palate. This tube helps me keep from burning ends, edges, and tips when I don't want burnt ones.
John Galt : Excellent Product! Performs perfectly.
Did a "cleansing" run for the tube in our PK (Portable Kitchen) grill/smoker. The next day, did a test run without any food in the PK. Filled the tube with quality wood pellets, stood the tube vertically in the PK, and used a regular size Esbit cube to ignite the pellets (on top of the pellets at the open end which is the top of the tube when standing vertically). The Esbit burned out after about 6 minutes; the first few pellets on the top end were smoking nicely. Laid the tube down horizontally in the PK; closed the top of the PK; opened vents slightly; the tube smoked nicely for the next 6 hours. The following day (third day) smoked 12 pounds of cheese cut into small blocks in the PK with the smoke tube filled about 3/4 full; used Esbit again to ignite; smoked the cheese at average of 90 degrees for 3 hours. After taking the cheese out of our PK, allowed the smoker tube to burn out for the sake of experimentation . . . burned for an additional 2 hours. Total tube burn time of 5 hours.
Fantastic! Who could ask for any more? Plus, basic cleanup of the tube was quick and easy. Highly recommend this product. Just follow directions, use quality wood pellets, and know how to calibrate your particular grill/smoker.
Brian A. Weaver : Simple & effective way to add smoke
I only have a charcoal grill and finding hardwood to smoke with is more difficult and pricy that I wanted to pay. The options for getting good hardwood pellets are more abundant. Instead of investing in pellet grill I thought I'd try the LIZZQ smoke tube since it would give me the option to cold smoke as well. I'm incredibly pleased with its performance. Cleaning is pretty simple too, turn is upside down and bang it on the grates. All the ash falls into the bottom of my grill. I've used it three times, once to make smoked salt. I'm just waiting on the temperature to drop this fall so I can try to cold smoke some cheese and other items.
Not a purchase that I'm going to have buyers remorse over. Looking forward to more grill time now that I have this smoke tube.

Solid option for anyone without the space or budget for a pellet smoker. Lit in under a minute with a basic propane torch, burned for about 5 hours which got me exactly to the Stall on my brisket. I could have refilled it at that point but I decided to see how the meat did just finishing on low heat wrapped up. There was plenty of good smoke flavor and everything turned out delicious!
I used Traeger pellets, so smoke times may vary with different brands. Definitely going to try cold smoking next!

I've been missing out on some seriously good smoked meats!! Got this smoker during the first part of quarantine... psyched myself up for a month and decided to break it in on a brisket. I cooked the brisket via sous vide method, let it rest overnight in the fridge and smoked it the next day using this smoker and my gas grill. SUCCESS!!! And very easy!!! I used the smoker yesterday with chicken leg quarters and - - - again- - - surprised myself with how great and smokey the meat turned out. So thankful I found this and bought it!! Can't wait to smoke more meat!

Kenneth A. Gale : Forget what Treager says, this is how you cold smoke cheese in a Treager
I am beyond happy with this product. I have a Treager grill and had been trying my hand at cold-smoking cheeses using their method, which is a pan of cheese in a pan of ice in the grill on the smoke settings. It was a major pain to try to keep the temperature anywhere close to right. I bought this smoker tube and and made a temporary modification to the grill to defeat the hot rod and the auger and just use the fan. Found out that the Treager will shut the fan of if the temperature is below a preset temperature for over 10 minutes. Again, a headache trying to keep is going for several hours. I finally backed off the over-thinking and simply put the smoking tub on the drip pan close to the opening where the grease drains. There was plenty of air available to keep the pellets smoking. The ambient temperature of the smoke was relatively constant and in the 87 to 95 degree range. When the temperature got over 90, I simply put a 4 x 8-inch baking dish on the grate directly over the tube and threw a handful of ice cubes in it. The temperature was back to 90. I filled the tube with pellets and it is still going after three hours. Forget Treager's advice on how to cold smoke cheese; put this tube in the grill and the job is done.
