We do our Christmas on Christmas Eve and for years the wife and I went to my brother's on Christmas day to visit the nieces and nephews but he moved to Florida a couple years ago and daughters spend Christmas day with their significant others family so my Christmas day is open therefore
Definitely planning on it if the ice gets off.
The wife and I are fishing Christmas eve......well she said she's sitting on the lake bench and read a book.
The 24th is actually showing a spike in temps so gonna throw a jig for couple hours.
I'll be lucky if I'm not working 12 hours that day.
I was planning on going to a cooling lake on Xmas Eve, which is one of the magazine's top 25 lakes, but it turns out we are closing on our new house on Monday so I'll be starting some remodeling on Xmas Eve instead.

Remember those days well @Bluebasser86, be safe. Right around 0001, it was always nice to 10-28 Mary-Robert-Charles-Lincoln-Adam-Union-Sam ????
I'm gonna be about 2500 miles from all my gear, so I guess not.
I’ll get some fishing in before prime rib dinner
I’ll probably get out for a few hours on Christmas Eve. Visiting family on Christmas Day.
I'm guessing none of you are going to need an auger?
If I did the babies wouldn’t speak to me again.
????

Shouldn't take too long to figure where the rod racks go!!!
Day after has been a father/son day for awhile at Norris.....mmmmmmm
(wasn't supposed to merge)
I just might do that. Temperatures are supposed to be in the 60's on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Normally I'd work on Tuesday and Thursday as we are preparing our hotel to open in February. But the other day a drunk driver flew over a curb and crashed into our transformer. The result is we are without power for 1-2 weeks waiting for Duke Power to truck in the new unit, install it, then have our contractors complete the wiring.

The new place has a 1932sq foot detached garage that has a 93% efficiency furnace, A/C, a bathroom, and 12ft ceilings so I can have an asymmetric car lift. I already have a bay set aside for the boat and all my fishing stuff. But I'm gonna need more fishing stuff!
yep....every year.....

Well....yeah....
My 2019 season is over lol. I just want Christmas day to get here already so I can idolize all my new fishing stuff (significant other isn't allowing me to open anything beforehand) LOL
Yes the temps here are going to be above freezing for several days and in the 50-60s for 5 days, I gotta catch something with my new gear!

The way these temps are I’m guessing all our ice on my lake will be gone by the time I get home from work tomorrow. It’s pretty grey right now and that sun is beating down on it.
I went today for about 4 hours, water temp in low 40s didn't get a bite.
Going again tomorrow with my uncle in law from Georgia and we will be drop shotting deep points.
It's not even a possibility. Too warm for the ice to be solid enough for ice fishing and too cold for open water fishing.
We're frozen over in lots of spots from the deep freeze on Wednesday night , Thursday, and Friday. My buddy just did 3 hours where he found some open water, but whiffed. Woke up to -2 on Thursday with wicked winds and it never broke 26 on Friday, so they must be seriously chilled. Christmas day will be the fourth day in a row that we're back in the 40's. It's supposed to kiss 50 tomorrow at one point. If I can sneak in a 10:00 am thru 1:00 pm on Xmas day that'll be great! Dyin' to throw my brand new jerkbait rig. Got a new Vision 110 tied on and ready to go. The IMA suspending lipless will be on deck. Gonna drag the new 8" Trash Fish slowly through some deep holes on the new swimbait rig. Hopefully the wind won't be blowing too hard.

Me too, went today for 4 hrs throwing a swim bait and skirted jig on deep points.....nothing.
But nice to be on the water.
My son and I are going in the afternoon once we get rid of all the guests.

My aunt always says “here’s your hat, what’s your hurry?” when she wants us to get the heck out of her house about 3 or 4 pm

If we are helping someone build a fence that would be a great help......
Will go Christmas if not going to in-laws we havent decided yet.
I got out today Northern IL at favorite little lake for trout fishing, didnt get any.
Tried a Ned rig in a creek today, no takers
I'm not going on Christmas, but I am on the 27-28th with this guy. My first FL fishing trip. I'm so hyped I can hardly sleep.
Gonna be 67 here on christmas day. Sounds like a good time to try the christmas buzzbait bite.
Planning on it if there is enough open water. Possibly today and tomorrow as well
Yep, right after presents until right before dinner.
I like to go steelhead fishing in the ditches on X_mas morning, if I don't have the kids. This year, I do, so no fishing for me.
I probably will in the afternoon.
Spend the day with your family and love ones. Only 1 Christmas Day a year.

Yule has already passed (that's what the wife and I celebrate), and tonight I'm taking dinner to the parents - they're both 85 and still living independently.
If there was open water here - I'd be out Christmas Day as the lakes would probably be clear of people.

We do that on Christmas Eve and my girls spend Christmas day with their significant others Family.and most people don't want you to work on their house Christmas day, so fishing it is.
That is if I can figure out how to get them to bite in this 42° Water.

I'll take your 42* water in a heart beat.
I tried for trout again today 2 bites caught one.

Screw that, I see these people every day. Having the pond and an entire day to myself - that is rare!
However, I doubt I'll fish today haha. I forgot about it until now. It isn't too late, maybe I'll go just to say I did.
<looks outside>...nah.
I thought for sure we would have open water by now. Today was 51 and sunny, but there’s still ice and it isn’t safe.
One of my girls had a change in plans.
Its been many years scents one of my girls spent the day on the water with me. There is a Santa Claus
I’ve had the last 5 days straight off work so I’ve been on the water literally every day.
23° this morning and the fish were not in a cooperative mode but I still managed a few before I had to leave for Christmas with the family.
This 19” 4.9lb chunker was the cake.

That’s better than no catfish!
No fishing for me at local lake.
