What are your goals in bass fishing this year?
Mine are to learn more different lures and there presentations.
Fish more with jigs.
Fish more with Carolina rigs.
Fish more with larger spinnerbaits.
Fish with drop shots.
Use the split shot rig more often.
I need to park the crankbaits and fish more with different lures and presentations. I'm stuck in a rut because the crankbaits catch fish so I'm using blinders on the other lures that work too. I've used the other lures but I'm focused on the cranks too much lately.
My goals
Use more plastics.
Break the state record of 12#14oz. I've been so close and had two record breakers on my line but lost them. I have the better quality rods now with the correct action and backbone. I'm ready equipment wise. I know the bigger bass are there.
Just breaking the record won't prove what I say about the bigger trophy bass being in every state. If I don't break it I'd like to see some little guy or gal do it with there batman or Barbie fishing combo. Overall I want to see the record smashed this season.
1. Get good fishing with jigs and spinnerbaits
2. To catch more and bigger fish than last year
3. Win the "biggest bass pool" that my buddies and I started
Catch a smallmouth
Make better decisions from the back of the boat during tournaments
Learn to fish the drop shot
Get enough confidence to enter a So Open in 2015
Get enough confidence to enter a Rayovac Series event in 2015
Mike
My main goal for bass fishing is to learn to identify structure better, especially in deeper water. I have always bank fished and FINALLY got my first boat. So I have no idea what to look for from a boaters perspective.
My other goal this year is to catch my PB muskie. But its more specific than that, it MUST come from the susquehanna. Right now my PB stands at 47 inches. Caught from shore about 5 miles from my house.
1) have fun...
2) enjoy life...
3) catch a crap load of quality bass in the process of doing 1 & 2...
oh I plan to work on flukes and punching this year...
Mitch
01. Personal goal to catch 250 fish this year.
02. Go fishing with lots of people. (sounds kind of promiscuous, lol).
03. Fish with crank baits more.
Getting stronger every day. I can fish almost fish six hours now. Two more surgeries.....they say not biggies but they use knives!!! I'm helpless and asleep. Anyway...just looking to fish more and stronger.
Tight Lines
Start using crank baits more and catch a 5lb largemouth. Got my 5lb smallmouth just need a largemouth now.
I have one simple to goal to consistently CATCH FISH
tight lines
Andrew
To do better than last year
(the goal never changes, but the results do)
Roger
HAVE FUN !!!!!!!
- get better with a swim jig.
- fish deeper water
- use the wacky rig more
- and as always enjoy my days off that I spend on the water
Get good at fishing jigs, drop shot, shake head and flipping and pitching. Also want to do some squarebill fishing.
to be more shiftless and fish more than i do now , if that's possible
learn
I read a lot, watched all of Glenn's videos and got a lot of advice from the great guys on this sight over the winter.
Now my goal is to put what I have learn to the test and hopefully out fish my friend who has been bass fishing for over 25 years. He seems to stuck in a one pattern fishing style from season to season very reluctant to try anything different
Second goal is to fish 1 or 2 tournaments this year..
My number one goal for this year,is mastering a baitcaster.I just got back into fishing last July, since being away from the sport since the late 80's.These small ponds in Delaware, get fished so much.I don't work anymore,so i'd love to take one pond, and learn it.I mean the big hawgs, got to go somewhere.
1: slow down
2: spend a little more time driving on the weekends. I live very close to a decent size lake, its easy to wake up and just go there but I live within an hour of probably several hundred places to bass fish. I want to go back to spending more time on the river. I wanna fish the pad choked lake just north of here more.
Learn fishing from a boat and breaking down a lake to the best potential locations on a given day.
Fish slower, fish more days, and get a double digit bass

^This is goal.^
I have no actually goals in mind, I do know that I will be fishing a good 340 days this year. Anyone fishing that much is going to have something good happen, the percentages are on my side. I just want catch big fish but that's really a hope and not a goal, I have no control of what is swimming around when I'm fishing. Actually size and records are meaningless to me, I don't even carry a scale. All I want is my rod doubled in half and tons of drag being pulled out.
My goals are the following
1. Win State SAF High school tournament
2. Qualify for Nationals in SAF
3. Place in Money in League Tournaments consistently
4. Win League Tournament
5..... HONOR GOD AND HAVE FUN WITH FAMILY!!!!!
Same as always :
Don't drown
Don't sink the boat
Don't break anything expensive
Fish as much as I can with my kids
The catching will take care of itself..... It always does.
mastering a jig
fish more days with my kids
Win the high school bass fishing state championship and advance to nationals
1. Catch a 10 lb bass
2. Win several open tournaments.
3. Catch 50 bass over 5 lbs in 2014 ( Last year ended with 31)
All in New England, mostly in Maine and Vermont.
Most importantly Have fun and catch fish !
1. Catch my personal best
2. Learn to skip a jig
3. Learn how to use my new fish finder and identify structure & fish
4. Fish in deep water
5. Gain confidence in many different techniques
6. Master techniques that I have confidence in
Work, work, work to secure my promotion to VP next may...
Oh, yeah...and fish every waking moment that I am not at work.
get better at backing in my boat in the garage
1) Become a better angler
2) Gain confidence in fishing a jig
3) Place in the money in at least half the events I fish
4) Qualify for Regionals for Bass Nation (so close last year!)
5) Introduce someone new to the sport of fishing
1. Learn more about spinnerbaits.
2. Learn more about jigs.

4. Get better electronics!
I'm going to try and clean up the area where I keep my fishing tackle in the basement.
1. Break the 25" mark with a largemouth
2. Catch a bass on a trout swimbait in VA stocked trout pond/lake
3. Catch a citation (20") smallmouth
4. Have an "Aaron Martens Day" with my friend on his 10acre pond/lake and only fish drop shots haha
To finally land that lunker! My PB is around 7-8 and I would really love to finally catch that wallhanger. I've netted a total of about 5 bass 8lbs+ while fishing with friends and family so my time has to be soon right??
Rookie of the year last year...Angler of the year this year.
Become more consistent and gain a better understanding of the bass' habits.
i dont really set fishing goals. i mean everyone wants to get better and yada yada. but the more i can avoid having fishing become like a chore or work the better off i am. i just like to relax and fish without having to worry about meeting expectations or filling out a fishing log and stuff like that...
Do well in tournaments
Focus on shakey heads
Organize better day before of the day of tournament
1) Improve my finesse fishing
2) beat my PB that I set last year
