What did everyone catch their lunker on this summer. For me it was a 1/8 oz doulbe prop Hart buzzbait, white. The fish went 6.2# on the berkeley digy.caught him 6 in the morning. So let's hear it Howd them hogs come in for ya this past summer.
I didn't catch a big hog, but my biggest was caught on a lake fork eight inch worm in green. I really like the lake fork products, but no one in town carries what I really like to use. I caught it at a farm pond right by shore where it drops off.
Next year I plan on trying more places now that I have a boat. Places that aren't farm ponds. Only thing is I will have my first baby in my family being born a month away so I won't get to go as much, but I will get to take my future wifey with me to go.
Been there last year and will be there again this year.Like rabbits around these parts.been married one year and the wifes been pregnant the whole time.Trust me you will find time to get out of the house.lol!
I didn't catch any lunkers this summer either. The biggest one I caught probably barley broke four lbs. I caught it using a quarter ounce jig with a black skirt and a YUM crawlbug.
Last spring I caught a bass 9 1/2 lbs on a white zoro 3/8 oz single colo blade with a #11 white uncle josh pork on the end. I was slow rolling the bait down a tree and killed it when it reached the end of it.
My lunker of the year was a 5.3 lb. smallmouth that I caught this spring. The fish hit a flashminnow jerk bait. That fish put up an awesome fight! ;D
My biggest bass this year were primarily caught using 3 different baits (not in a particular order).
1. Jig and Pig
2. Scum Frog
3. Yamamoto Kreature

My three biggest of the year, none of them lunkers, but still one of them my personal best, were all taken from shore on Senkos.
dont know how big it was, but it took a watermelon/red flake senko.
Sadly my biggst fish this year was a 3lb 6oz. Caught it on a pros choice pro-v shad in baby bass color.
I caught a 5-4 on June bug BrushHog on Ky Lake. Not real big but my biggest yet.
i live in MN, and i caught 5 bass over 5 pounds on a lake which im not going to mention, but 4 of them were on an offbrand of senkos which are way better called trick sticks made by big bait bites. the other was on my favorite black/blue denny brauer pro model jig with a super chunk trailer
During the first part of the summer, it was the 4" Yamamoto Senkos in June Bug, then, seemingly overnight, they took a liking to 5" Redflake Wave Worms. No lunkers yet, as I just learned to fish this summer and I enjoy telling all of my fishing buddies that I invented fishing this summer... oh.. and just me between me and ya'll.... I think it is catching on.

I live in NY, Biggest one i got was early spring, 5lbs on a watermelon/chart crawbug. Got many 4 to 3 lbers, but managed that 5 lber, it was only my second bass in the 5's. This spring will be different, got my eye on a few monsters that got away. I have the whole winter to plan for them
wow i feel like a newb. the biggest bass i cought was about 3 pounds. i havent been fishing long tho. i got into fishing heavy about 2 months ago
Ive cought plenty of one pounders but im waiting and ready for that big bass.
My biggest fish (6 lb) came from Lake Barkley using a 1/4 oz orange and black rattletrap. In fact, on the trip we took, we each averaged about 40 fish a day using the rattlers - most in the 1 to 2 lb range but my brother in law did have a 10lb on the line.
LD, You need to come down and fish the Tennessee River, but a 5 lb smallmouth is a prize anywhere.
Fattdaddy; I want to thank you for putting that hawg back. I think it's great that you put him back. Some little kid could be out with grandpa and tie into that fish and he'll be hooked for life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an activist but I do think we have to do all we can to keep the bass alive and well. Thumbs up to ya,
Snag
I caught my biggest bass of the summer. a 61/2 pound bass in the spring when they were spawning. I caught her on a black & blue 3/8 oz. Stanley Casting Jig.
Caught a 7.2lb large mouth in early September on a chartruese scum frog. In June a caught a 6.4 lb. on a ratt-l-trap. I caught most of my fish this summer on buzz baits, scum frogs and bass rats but I also did more top water fishing this summer. I did catch a smally that was 21 inches long (didn't have a scale so no weight) on a beattle spin in Canada in early June.
The two biggest I caught last summer were on the same day ( a tad over 5 for both). The first I caught on a 7.5 Junebug Worm (my bait of the summer) while I was working out a backlash LOL!!!! The other I caught on a Junebug/Chart. Lizard. Both were YUM products. Anybody else out there like the YUM product line like I do?
My biggest largemouth have all been caught on Senkos, but I caught more 5+ lb fish on the Yamamoto Ika last year. I have never caught a smallmouth over 5 lbs on anything but live shiners, but this spring I'm going to give earthworm77's hair jigs a workout.
Hey, rumor has it that you had a pretty good day recently with a smallie or two ;D!
Thanks EW! The weather forecast has improved, sunny and a high around 45. Headed to the river again Saturday! Gotta stick with the minnows this time of year, but I'm looking forward to giving your jigs a workout next month.
i live up north and my biggest bass this year was close to 6 lbs. i used a shad rap crankbait and i also caught the same on a white buzz bait
I caught a 5 pound largemouth on a Berkly Gulp! worm fishing in a brushpile around 2:30 in the afternoon a of a beautuful clear day.
7lb'er on a yellow/black Devil's Horse..my buddy caught one just shy of 10 lbs on a Pop'R.
7lb, 7oz, on a StrikeKing Midnight Special spinnerbait. I'm new to bass fishing, so this was actually my first spinnerbait to produce fish. First afternoon of use, I caught 3 bass in 30minutes, averaging around 3lbs
