My favorite for years, since I was in high school, has been Hank Parker. Bill Dance is a close second...
Anybody on Bassmasters or FLW Outdoors.
I've always liked Tommy Sanders with ESPN Outoors.
Lindners
Uncle Hank Parker
JT Bagwell
jimmy houston and the linders
I'm probably going to take a beating for this ;D, but as far as personalities go, I like Charlie Moore. Now, if you're talking about educational value, and I have to pick only one, I'd have to go with Bill Dance. I aslo enjoy Hank Parker, Shaw Grigsby and the Linders.
Houston, Dance
Rolan Martin
Denny BRauer, Joe Thomas, Fish Fishburne and the Linders
Larry Dahlberg
The guy is an animal himself!!
Al Lindner, bar none, that man knows his stuff and he is an excelent teacher.
Educational Purposes: Al Linder
Entertainment: Jimmy Houston
Landinlunkers - Charlie Moore?
Wow - the guy tries to do more comedy (badly) than fishing. I have to turn the volume off to watch that fool. The only reason I watch him is because he is local and fishes some of the places I fish.
Each to his own though!
Joe Thomas
Hmmm...tough call now, but it use to be Orlando Wilson. Miss his show.
The Linders, If it swims they can catch it.
Al Lindner and Doug Stange for info.
Jimmy Houston for comic relief.
Bill Dance
Jimmy Houston
Orlando Wilson
Hank Parker
QuoteHmmm...tough call now, but it use to be Orlando Wilson. Miss his show.
I remember Orlando. He was fun to watch. I like them all.......
Mark Zona
I guess the only one I ever watched with any regularity was Honey Hole Mag. with Jerry Dean. He usually tried to have useful information without doing a infocommercial styled promo. He his wife and a few others probably did as much or more for the sport of bass fishing in this area durring the beginning years as anybody. Even though I guess it was generally a local show there were articles on here from their magazine which was how I found this site originally.
Al & Ron Lindner, John Gillespie, Bob Meshikomer, Mark Zona
Charlie Ingram
Al Lindner and scott Martin
I ALWAYS LIKED LARRY NIXON'S SHOW. I WISH IT WAS STILL ON OLN.
MARK ZONA IS DOING A GREAT JOB, HE'S FUNNY AND INFORMATIVE. I HOPE HE WILL BE GETTING MORE AIR TIME.
I like Jimmy Houston.
AL LINDNER BAR NONE....
BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT LARRY NIXONS SHOW WAS GREAT...........
The Lindners have certainly taught me the most. For sheer watchability I like Mark Zona.
I grew up reading and watching In-Fisherman, I really like Al Lindner, and Doug Stange. I also like Bill Dance, BUT my favorite fishing show and is the BPS show when KVD is on, I think he does a really good job of teaching and keeps the salesmanship to a minimium.
Al Lindner
Not for his personality, but for a learning experience.
Roger
Jimmy Houston !
Bill Dance has always been my favorite.A fellow Tennessee fan,(hence the hat) and the most feared competitor in the early days of BASS.Ive met him several times, and he is as down to earth as he appears on tv.Second would be Linder, not only a great fisherman, but a good Christian .Sorry if Im not politically correct, but I believe in Christ.Last ,but not least,Larry Dahlberg, probably the greatest multi-species angler in the world today.
LBH!
Even though his show (his icon) is always the same, he is always catching fish!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Being brand new to the sport, I don't really know any of the old timers. I do enjoy Mike Mike Iaconelli. I find his antics to be fun. I don't know how I feel fishing next to him for four days. I also like KVD. He seems like he is very knowledgeable about the sport. I also like any fisherman who kisses the fish he catches.
In no particular order:
Shaw Grigsby
Hank Parker
Jimmy Houston (Fellow OU fan!)
F.Rod 8-)
Tom Mann
Hank Parker
Larry Nixon
Denny Brauer
Bill Dance and Hank Parker.
I also like to watch Roland MArtin and Jimmy Houston on occasion, but my dad has met both of them and says they're jerks.
Ray Scott, it was his drive and dream that has led us to where we are today. The best emcee I have seen on that level, ever!
roland martin
G Man! Gerald Swindle. He just makes me laugh.
I hook my boat onto the back of my truck,
I called a friend and said let's go try em up,
He said I'm sorry buddy I can't go,
I'm watchin' the Orlando Wilson Fishin Show!
(sounds better when sang by Tom T Hall)
Gerald Swindle, hands down the funniest guy on the trail. ;D
Mark Zona, pretty funny and seems to know a thing or two.
Fish Fishburne, He should be MC ing the weigh ins, instead of the no talent they have now! Been to the last 2 classics and that guy SUCKS! >
ZONA FOR MC!!!!
Hank Parker #1 but also like the new Scott Martin show[tt][/tt]
what channel does linders show on I've never seen it.
My favorite are the Linders, but where have they gone?
Hank Parker
Bill Dance
Shaw Grigsby
: Hello everyone: If you'll notice my avatar to the left of this message, you will see me, my cousin and my favorite fisherman and tv personality, the ledgendary BILL DANCE. My grandfather, who has been a Bill Dance fan since the 70's, took this great picture of the 3 of us at a fishing show in march. If was a big kick for a 11 year old boy(ME!) to meet and spend a few miniutes with a ledgend. Have a great season guys!! The Kodeman from R.I.( sorry guys, but on another page, i wanted to show a pic. of me and KVD but could not get the pic. on the page so i had to change my profile to get KVD on, that changed all previous postings as far as the pic. goes. When i figure how to post pics, this avatar is going back to bill dance thanks)
does anyone remember john fox? when I was about 10 I watched him alot. Is he still even around?
I like the Linders show.
Bill Dance only catches bass that are over 6lbs! What a joke!!! With his super tight pants and cheesey Tennesee hat....hes terrible.
When Denny Brauer had the bass class on ESPN, or whatever it was called, That was a good show. Hes a talented fisherman, that isnt a moron.
8-) My list would have to be as follows;
1. Shaw Grigsby
2. Roland Martin
3. Orlando Wilson
4. Jimmy Houston
Just based on the comedy and enterainment value I have to mention Fish Fishburn they need to bring back Team Grandma!!!!!!
Matt
May your line never break on a big fish
>:(hey guys: So what if bill dance only catches bass over 6 pounds or whatever, thats not the point! (ARE you guys jealous?) The point is that the guy actually teaches about fishing. Any dummy can be on a tv show and cast all day and not say anything that is helpful. Heck, Hank parker was like that for years, just casting and releasing fish. Instead of saying"Hey kid, nice pic of you and Bil" you choose to cut him down. If you take the time tolook in the mirror, most of you guys problably look worse than bill dance ever will. I am really ashamed and mad about the fact that some people out there are actually part of this forum. I bet most of you guys never caught a6 lb. bass and problably never will; you choose to think that a guy that has had a fishing show for over 30 years is not worth paying attention to?. He must be doing something right to last that long. Give the guy a break; he is 66 years old; of course he wont look as good as some of you 25 yr. old ,immature punks. Good bye for now , from an 11 year old kid that is most likely more mature than some of you.!!!
1. orlando wilson
2. hank parker
3. bill dance
all three very close. i miss the sunday afternoon programming on tnn. it was hard to beat
Bill Dance is probably one of the greatest bass fishermen of all time. The hat he wears is from his support of the Tennessee Vols.Sorry he doesnt wear designer sportswear plastered with patches,or talk in hip hop phrases. He does do one thing well, and that being catching and understanding bass behavior.
I bet he cuts less film to show big bass than your personal favorite.Give props to all these guys, they are doing what we all wish we could for a living.By the way ,what time and channel are you on?
