Got the same one.  Nice little box and the swimbait looks pretty sweet. Hopefully Mr. Pike doesn't claim this when I throw it.

Hey I tried my first Pike last week.  I was surprised how well it tasted.  So help weed them out for a fish fry.  Only advice, get a very sharp filet knife and youtube how to filet a pike!

I have had it long ago. It's tasty. The problem I have is the water I fish gets really hot....and really hot water and fish fillets don't mix well.  So I tend not to even bother or else I would keep some. Maybe in the late fall or early spring when the temps are back down I will give it a shot.  I have never filleted a pike myself, and from what I understand it is an art form not to get a mouth full of bones.

I sure as heck wouldn't have trouble catching enough for an army. There are a bazillion of the snakey northerns in my  waters.  18"-24" is not hard to come by at all.

Yeah I hear ya, that is the problem with me this year.  My usual bass holes aren't producing, but the Pike are going nuts everywhere I fish.  Last year I caught a handful of pike, this year I have caught 71 since the start of bass season.  Most in the range from 14-24", but I did get a couple 30-32" ones last week. I think it's the weather being cooler than normal.  All the bass are confused and not going to where they usually are...they are staying shallow most of the time and very tight to cover, at least in my local waters.

My box, love it!

I got a different box. I assumed every subscriber got the same package. I got an Xcite square bill crank, a stick bait type plastic 3-pack, and large swimbait, and Freedom interchangeable-hook jig heads.

We send out a few different boxes each month to mix it up so people don't have the surprised ruined when they see what someone else got.

This was my first box and I received the same thing. I was also under the impression that everyone got the same thing. I kind of feel like I got the shaft but at least I am not alone and I only paid $5 for the first box. I will give it another month and see if they redeem themselves.

We are sorry you were not pleased with your box. That box actually has the highest retail value of all the boxes we sent this month (over $25, and it shipped for free). If you were not happy with the value it may be hard for us to do better in future months (not trying to convince you not to subscribe, we would love to have you stay, but just being honest so you are not upset again in the future).

fishing user avatartrailer reply :

I felt like that box was a great value. I'm happy to know now that you guys mix it up. The swim bait retail 2 pack was a $19.99 value. There's $10 right there plus a square bill. By far the coolest lure or concept was those jig heads. I'm curious to see how they work.

I am not upset...kind of disappointed by what I have seen you send out in the past and what the guy above received. It wasn't the value, it was what items I received. I gave the stuff(minus the crankbait) to one of the kids at work. The box that the guy above received would have gone to better use by me. It's all good. Better luck next month I guess. This whole deal is a bit of a gamble right?

Frankly it sounds like they lived up to one of their objectives....  The mystery box should put some new tools in your arsenal and entice you to try a new or different method of fishing.  For this reason alone, I've signed up.  I can go to the tackle store any day of the week and pick up the baits I like and am comfortable with.  MTB may "force" me to fish some different baits or methods that I haven't tried before or had good luck with.  I think this alone makes one a better fisher.....

I am not hard to please by any means and not out to hurt anyone's feelings here and I am fine with fishing outside of my comfort level but we do pay for this service and I just feel like I got a handful of bait that I would typically see in a bargain bin at Fleet Farm is all. I didn't say I was cancelling my subscription I just hope I get some better stuff next month.

"Better stuff" in terms of personal liking, is purely an opinion.  That box you got could be a gold mine for a different angler and vice versa.  When they send out the boxes, it's random, so they have no idea what you as an angler like to fish with.  This is why the concept works great if you're willing to fish outside your comfort zone.  It will expand your horizons as a fisherman and in return make you a better all around angler. If you're not willing to do that, then the service is not for you. You're better off going to the tackle store and picking the items you already know.

Have Yet To Get My Box This Month. And My Tracking Has Not Been Updated since The 13th

fishing user avataraqualkinbush reply :

looks like there were 3 different boxes this month. I totally forgot to snap pictures of mine but I got Xcite baits crankbait, the stinky fingers stick bait, reaction strike swimbait (this one is kool but i was a little dissapointed as some of the paint had rubbed off in the packaging),as well as the freedom jig heads.

fishing user avatarTrapperJ reply :

Those big bite baits stick tail (Looks like a senko with a jointed tail end) worked great in a small lake near home. Only down side is once they lost the "stick tail" fish no longer seemed interested.
