Anyone have the new dt colors yet? If so where did you get them? The green craw looks good!
i refuse to buy repala any more due to the fact that iordered a color off of tackle warehouse 3 months ago and the color has still not come into stock. That is ridiculous.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's Rapala's fault.

*** got on the phone with me and pretty much said they do not have the stuff because repala in not the best at shipping things in a timly manner.
The reason though that this got me mad is because i really wanted the lure for a tournament i was fishing and never did get it.
Great, more colors is the last thing I needed!
rapala is beginning to disappoint. they keep coming out with these new baits that have minor differences from their old ones or already existing baits, and make them seem so revolutionary. i mean, the rapala "crankin rap" is the EXACT same bait as the storm "big bass". i know storm is owned by rapala but why the duplicate? also, i personally think their new colors are not that hot.

Why fix something that works?
Rapala has never conformed to the notion that the newest technology is going to be the best, and that is what keeps me coming back. They focus on the aspects of the lures that make a bigger impact on catching fish such as quality, and less on the secondary aspects such as color.
Have you ever had a Rapala out of tune when you take it out of the package? Exactly...

no dude, don't get me wrong, rapala's pwn balls. i have so many rapalas its not even funny, they're by far my favorite hardbait. its just that lately they're beginning to disappoint, i guess you could say that to me, they are beginning to "sell out".
Rapala = inconsistent, overpriced junk that continually produces. Drives me nuts.
QuoteWhy fix something that works?
i realized that this is the exact point i'm trying to make... rapala keeps coming out with all these new "innovations" and such when their classic models truly work the best. its just not necessary.
if repala would keep their stuff in stock id be happy but when im waiting for 3 months for a biat i needed for a tournament 2.5 months ago its kinda makes me mad.

I like that
I've seen them in my local tackle store but I'm not buying any more DT's because I have had problems with the lips breaking when hitting stumps or rocks. I've broken 5 and I fish the exact same way with Bombers and Normans without any problems. I know the lips are thinner on the DT's but they shouldn't be breaking like this. I'm done with them.
I love my X-Raps, but just about anything else they make can be beat by someone else. The price is what kills me. I can get 2 SK or Bomber cranks for the price of 1 Rapala.
I dont understand why everyone is so down on DT's. They have produced the most fish for me and I have never had a problem with durability....Maybe it has to with with brand loyalty, but they will continue to be my go to crank until I find a reason to switch.

I get what you are saying now, but I feel as if they arent doing it on a huge scale. They are coming out with newer style baits such as the x-raps, clackin raps, etc, but they still have a lot of the classic features associated with Rapala
they are advertising it as out of stock.. they told me that repala gave them a date that the baits would be in and the baits never came on that date. Tackle warehouse is an amazing company so i doubt that its their fault.

x1000 and everyone seems to be blowing out the dt flats on clearance and they are getting harder to find! Wonder what "new and improved" innovation they will come out with to replace one of the deadliest hump fishing cranks in existence? :
I could tell you where I got my new Dt colors and I got them a month ago but it is forbidden to mention such an incredible site on here. The exact same place that gets ALL the new stuff, and carries a far greater variety of it, before ANYBODY else, even the beloved tackle warehouse. :
Maybe the new colors and models haven't hit the shelves yet :-/

I've never had one break on me but most of the natural lakes that I fish don't have submerged stumps as I'm usually ripping these baits off of grass or hitting bottom. I could see where the thin lip of this bait could be susceptible to breakage but it's a big reason the bait has such a steep dive curve. Perhaps this is a good option for guys fishing grass lakes but it appears there are better options if fishing submerged stumps. For me the DT10 & DT6 have been very productive baits and I'm looking forward to adding some of the new colors to my crankbait arsenal.

Cough cough. I just said I got mine almost a month ago.
definately don't smack the dt's on the water gettin weeds off. the lips will break off for sure doing that.
They are decent cranks if you are only fishing weeds or soft bottom, but if you're banging stumps or grinding rocks it's just a matter of time before the lip comes back to the boat and the bait floats up somewhere in between.
Well apparently the 50+ dt's that I have were built differently then everyone else's :-/
Quotedefinately don't smack the dt's on the water gettin weeds off. the lips will break off for sure doing that.
That's the only way I have heard of them breaking..

i doubt it. its possible youre softer on your baits.
They don't like bridge pillars, dock posts, or rocks either.

That's why I quit buying them , just too d**n fragile.
So go buy a lucky craft for 16 bux and lose it in some brush or buy ya some normans or strike kings for 3.99 that run straight 20% of the time :

i dont mind losing a bait.

Your right I don't fish many rock piles, but mostly vegetation. Even with that said I still have never had one break...just saying
i use them and will continue to throw them cuz they produce. i personally have never broke a lip off myself. just seen it happen and heard of others, mainly smackin weeds off.
but the lakes i fish are vegified as vinny pointed out so i'm not beatin the hell outta them either. not disagreeing that wouldn't happen fishin them hard though.
i won't spend more than 10 bucks on a bait with practically all the lakes here being patrolled by mr. pikey.
now if i lose fish by the lip breakin off, thats a whole different animal & then i may reconsider the dt's.
The only DT I've ever broken was when I was trying to get a very long cast to parallel a bridge piling and drilled it directly into said piling!
I broke a Pointer on the same piling a month before that, doing the same thing. :'(
Otherwise I bounce mine of rock and timber all day long and have never broke one. Yet.
As they say...to each his own. I've broken a few DT's but I'm going to keep using them caus they flat out catch fish for me, more than other cranks, even Lc's which cost way more. And they run true, period. And I can't wait to try a couple of the new colors!

Bingo
anyone wants to donate their broken Rapala baits to a good cause, let me know. ill make it worth your time.
