I'm becoming a bit of a jig snob the more I look at them.
For Footballs, I really like the Jewell Mike McLelland model, and for small finesse jigs, I'm a big fan of the Bitsy Bug.
Aside from those mass produced jigs, I have found some flippin jigs that are pretty sweet:
I saw the Peppers jigs at a local bait shop last week, and I had to have some. The silicone skirt is extra fine cut, with great paint jobs on the head, and Gammy hooks. Also like Conquistador jigs, Tournament Force Tackle, Tight Line, and Choo-Choo jigs.
Anybody else have any non-production jigs that they really like?
Thanks
SC
I fish Craig DeFronzo's Micro Munch Tackle Jig, the Evolution Jig from MegaStrike and recently bought some GMAN's jig. So, BassResource jigs!
8-)
i use 3 different jigs and thats about it the mop jig the bitsy bug and the boo or baby boo booyah jig
KaRu Finesse Jigs. Very high quality baits. 8-)
Terminator Pro Top Secret and Jewel Footballs
I'm partial to Keitech tungsten jigs
Are you talking about the strike king bitsy bugs, Shadcranker? If so, I wouldn't consider them high-end jigs lol, but they do catch fish. Anyway, my favorite jig is a Booyah Baby Boo in either 3/16 or 5/16 ounce, don't know if you'd consider it high-end, but it is the jig I have most confidence in.

:-X I've been trying not to let that cat out!
I'm still believe a jig is only as good as it's hook. I am fond of fine cut silicone skirts though.
^^^lol but really what jigs are high end? i can think of some signature but they dont produce many more than the cheaper more generic ones well my favorite jigs are the bitsy bug and baby boo jig i like the jewel football jig alot too
Shadcranker,
No preference.
I use a bunch of different types from different manufacturers.
I guess the fish don't care what they cost just as long as they are attracted to the lure.
I consider Jig-X to be the best jigs ever made.
i have found bitsy bugs to be crap. they always skimp out on the skirts. most of my bitsy bugs have hardly any strands on them, maybe like 20 strands TOPS.
my favorite jig would definitley be terminators pro's top secret jig. this is one very nice jig. everything about it is good, full skirts, great colors, strong hook, rattles, trailer keeper, recessed eye, its a great jig.
Tru-Tungsten jigs at $6.00 a pop I consider high end. They are great jigs though.

Agreed, these are inexpensive. Funny thing is though, when dressing my jigs, even Bitsy Bugs, I pull out a whole bunch of skirt strands before the lure even gets wet. LOL. Not saying my way is the only way by any means. That is why this is a good board, lots of variance to opinions.
GMAN's Poison Tail. He oughta call that thing "The Trawler". High end or not, these things will clean out a lake. 8-)

Jig X are some pretty awesome baits.Pretty close up there to high end jigs.
Make your own, much better quality then mass produced jigs.
Bitsy Bugs may not be 'high end', but they certainly aren't 'crap'.
: :-X

ill seconed that the skirts on this jig really flare out nice under water
Well I love ike's stone jigs, i bought a ton a couple of years ago at bps after they had discontinued it, I probably have about 75 of them, thats how much i love them
ive made my own or buy hademade football heads 3/4 and 1 oz these are all i use
Right now, Gamakatsu Arky 26.
I make all of mine so I can make them the way I want. The customization is endless. If I dream it up I can usaully make it up. I've made a few cool patterns lately. Some of them are lake specific and others are just patterns I dream up.
Thanks for the great words Jeff H and Roadwarrior.
SKLCo Elite model and Oldham jigs
strike king and booyah
I lose too many jigs to pay $6.00 + apiece for them. I am happy with Arkie, Strike King and Terminator. They catch fish and as Burley said in another thread, they are disposable.

bitsy bugs certainly don't stink, i have caught more bass on a bitsy bug jig than all others i have tried combined. perhaps you should do a little less posting and more fishing and maybe you can find out if they catch fish or not.

That's a nice looking jig.
Right now I am using skinny bear jigs, but eventually, I am gonna start making my own jigs. You can never beat having success with something you made.
Oldham's Lures Trailer Hitch Jig

this may have been mentioned, but the whole reaosn its a "bitsy bug" is because it has a thinned out skirt...in other words, thats the whole point...the finesseness of it...they are made that way from the factory
i love bitsy bugs,. they are my favorite....
as for a higher end style jig, i bought a bunch of SKINNY BEAR Pro series signiture Jis and they look GREAT!
like a mini KOOSH ball...and they need no trimming at all
problem is, i havnt used them yet, but when i do, i hope they will be my new favorite...
LOOK AT THESE THINGS....look cool as hell!
sell them on TW.com...they look better in person,
always wanted tyo try a higher end Rabbit hair jig, something like this always looked good to me
My favorite is the War Eagle heavy finesse jig .
I mainly fish rocks and I've become partial to the Skinny Bear Elite football jigs lately. They have super thick, fine frog hair living rubber skirts, sticky sharp Gamakatsu hook and durable paint. GMAN also makes some killer jigs, I got some round head double skirted jigs from him awhile back and did real well with them.

I will 3rd it for Vertical's Jig-X, they also make a good Football Jig for the rocks. Good thing about their jigs besides the hidden line tie is they have some heavy jigs which I have been favoring lately---in and out of weeds. Been using lots of 1/2 and 3/4 oz jigs even a few 1 oz.
