Wanna see some "SWEET BASS SUSHI" These Shellcrackers LOOK all happy n stuff Hope you Like'em!
Sweet!
Looks great!
Yeah, they are sweet. My favorite is the Blue Craw, seems to work all the time. I rig mine vertical on a 1/4oz 5/0 Moaner weighted Stroker hook, and run it everywhere like a swimbait most of the time. If I'm flippin with it, I'll turn it sideways on the same hook, and let the slower fall rate do it's thing. Awesome bait, though, and a lot of fun to fish.
Big "O" no pics or stories lately I am starting to get concerned. LOL. Those shellcrackers look nice. Do you know is BPS is carrying them yet?
Yup, Bass Pro's got 'em, as does Tw, in all the colors.
Thanks Shane J.
If it's got the Rage Tail name, I'll have to pick them up. I've failed to be disappointed with any baits in the RT line.
What's the preferred technique with these?
same here.. Rage tail can sell me anything too.On 10/19/2012 at 6:33 AM, TNBassin said:If it's got the Rage Tail name, I'll have to pick them up. I've failed to be disappointed with any baits in the RT line.
I have got to get me some of these to trail behind a swim jig

Flip'em hooked flat on their side for a gliding fall or hooked through the belly hook slot for a faster more direct fall. Also Rage Rig with a 5/0 weighted hook through the belly slot for a compact swim bait style presentation. I haven't C rigged it yet, but last week one of our Pro's caught 30+ in 4hrs like that and had an EWG through the belly slot... It has several ways to rig that can be effective

X2
I bet these things are killer on Seiberts swim/grass jigs, oh man I can't wait to give it a go !!!!
Big-O, will you be making them in a shad color? Maybe pearl with blue back.
Smoky Shad and Silver Bling would be awesome colors for these baits. Two of my favorites for the Rage Shad.
These look awesome. Can't wait to try them. I actually haven't fished any rage tail products yet but when I get a few extra bucks Im gonna pick up some of these, the anacondas, and the eeliminators.
The Anacondas are awesome.
Dang ! another Rage product I have to buy.

They definitly look great. Ill probably order some once I get my rent paid. Sucks no one around here carries them. At least no where that I know of. I watched bassresource videos about the 'rage rig' too. Kinda cool that the brand has its own specific way to rigs its plastics.

I have found them at Walmart, Bass Pro, Cabelas, Dicks, Academy and im sure there are others.
Great looking bait, i just wish the Walmart near me carried Rage Tail products. The nearest place for me to get my Rage on is ***.

I know the walmart I go to right now doesn't have them but they're opening a new one closer to me next week. Ill have to check.
I just ordered shellcrackers and the new twin tail grub also. My BPS has not started selling at the store however they are available on-line, so I went with the ship to store option.
To anyone that has fished them - Can these be rigged on a thinwire EWG hook? If so, are they neutrally bouyant or have any floating characteristics to them? I have an evil idea I want to try courtesy of one of our BR faithful.
nope.....like all rage tail baits, they are salted and sink slowly by themselves. However, if you rig this bait right it will plane up.On 2/7/2013 at 8:18 PM, Hanover_Yakker said:To anyone that has fished them - Can these be rigged on a thinwire EWG hook? Loving these baits steve. I picked up a pack in green pumpkin gold and purple flake on my last TW order and they are sick. I love the way they plane up when you twitch them. The legs have a really nice subtle kicking action. I can't wait to dredge some points with these on a carolina rig in the spring.
Rigging:
Sideways-1/0-4/0 EWG, texas rigged or weightless
Vertical- 1/4 oz 4/0 weighted hook, fish like a swimbait or hop it off the bottom.
Might be other ways that I haven't discovered yet.
Jig trailer? Not so much. I put on on a jig and the hook slot kinda lumped up around the hook and made a weird profile. I think the menace will do better.

My local walmart only carries the toads and shads. you could try the BPS in Hanover, MD at Anne Arundel Mills. But the last two BPS(Richmond, VA; Hanover, MD) i checked at for Rage Tail Craws and Lizards didnt have them when they previously had loads of them, for some reason most all the Rage Tail baits but a couple mysteriously dissappeared off the shelves...

I went to the Hanover BPS about a month ago and they had all the Rage Baits. I got a pack of these and the Eeliminators. Can't wait to fish them. It was kind of a pain to find the plastics I wanted to buy though. I feel like it would have been easier if they were organized by brand name rather than type of bait. Like have all the Rage stuff together and all the Zoom stuff together etc.
Anyone using this bait successfully on the Lake Harris Chain (Central Florida)? If so, what colors and how are you rigging / presenting them?
I've got a tournament coming up, and I've got a mind to use these (Picked up a pack of Blue Craw) in a tournament tomorrow (Lake Harris Bay Area Bassmasters' Tournament).
They look like excellent baits for certain conditions. I've thrown them in some of my local ponds, but haven't had any bites on them yet - however the bite has been slow all the way around, so this isn't an indication of the bait's potential IMHO.

i feel the same way about BPS, they should organize by brand name instead of bait type in my opinion. it would make it much easier for me to find something...perhaps when i went it was a seasonal thing where they removed some of their fishing stuff temporarily to make more room for winter stuff...im planning to make a trip there soon to the Hanover store, i just won $450 on a football block sheet for the super bowl and got some extra cash to blow, i want to try these shellcrackers out myself. i've had days where ragetail products(lizards, craws and toads) outfished live nightcrawlers another guy was using in a pond where usually nightcrawlers will catch every bass in the pond and artificials might get you one or two...
Ya these are a good lookin bait. Saw Denny pitchin one on Major League Fishing.
These look pretty interesting. When I head to BPS during the spring classic I am going to have to get a couple packs to try. Seen Stacey King using a Jika rig this morning an thinking this might be a good bait for that especial this spring.
Any chance I might see some in white soon ?
#13 and #144 with some #108 and #109 for good measure. Had very, very good results on it all the way in to December in a couple places.
