That was my hope; that future posts would be put here. You can see there's been a lot of chatter about these two sponsors. Though it might be nice to have it all in one place. We will see.

Late on posting this, but here is my side-by-side comparison of MTB Pro and LTB XL for this month.  I received both on Saturday.  LTB on the left, MTB on the right.

I'm very satisfied with both boxes this month.  The LTB didn't have a card with descriptions this time, but I think you can make out what's in there.  Can't wait to try them both out.

fishing user avatarDocMadz reply :

I just ordered my LTB XL last night. Hopefully it'll be chock full of goodies that I can use. I also realized that I missed out on a Live Target lure offer code and messaged them about it. It was a little greedy on my part granted, but they said they unfortunately couldn't honor the code since I had put in a discount code first.

As for customer service I cannot be more satisfied because the reply came in literally 4 minutes after I sent them the message. Expect pictures of my box when it arrives next month.

Happy Fishing everyone...here's to more lunkers.

fishing user avatarHog Basser reply :

MTB shipped early this month, got notification last night!

fishing user avatarS. Sass reply :

Haha I got my LTB just now and scored my first bait that was anywhere close to $25.00 probably is a $5 bait but the card they send with it says price $25.99

Biwaa Strout 5.5 #07 rainbow

I would never ever buy a $20+ single lure. But I guess that doesn't mean I can't have one I suppose. :)

Here is a pic of it.

Well, I got my July MTB.  I'm a little disappointed, but not because I don't like what's in it, I just wanted more (pro box).  I did a 6-month subscription, which just renewed.  The problem is that my pro upgrade fell off on the renewal and I got a regular box.  It isn't bad, it's just not the pro box I've become accustomed to.  I wish I would have gotten a specific notification that I needed to upgrade again.

Okay this may be a stupid question because this was my first month that I received the Mystery Tackle box Pro version and mine was completely different than yours. So are all the boxes not the same?

Yeah, they send several different boxes each month, some items overlap across some of the boxes, and some don't. YOu can actually see the items from other boxes by changing the last word and number of the aboutmybox link printed on the card. This month mine was.../basspro071. If yours is different it will have a different number at the end. The regular bass boxes are ../bass###

Mlbassyaker,  I believe FF was asking if MTB Pro (July) was the same for all subscribers. Seems as if he received a completely different box than you. Perhaps MTB can answer his question....

MIbassyaker was correct, we send a variety of different boxes eery mont, even within species and box types. We may have anywhere from 5-10 regular and 5-10 pro boxes in a single month, with some items overlapping in different boxes.

Here were my first 2 boxes for LTB and MTB. Both are pretty decent IMO, but LTB is really leaning on the $25 swimbait for value.. lol. I wish both boxes wouldn't have came with size 4 hooks though, I rarely use anything that small. Can hardly complain overall though, got the $10 off of 1st box for each company, so total for this haul was only $10 total (minus the extra $8 I spent getting the LTB Pro box).

I have yet to receive my LTB this month, does anyone know if there was a delay?

fishing user avatarB1gD4ddy reply :

Question about these boxes...  I was just on the LTB site and seen the tis to use baits..  Most of what I was reading said to use bait casting rods...  I have never used one I am a spinning rod guy only because I'm really just getting into fishing from last season to this..  I have 1 rod and reel...  in my situation is it even worth buying a membership to either?

I will be looking at getting more equipment but it ain't free so it will take time

If you stick with bass fishing, you will want a bait caster.  There's no comparison to the accuracy in casting and versatility of the bait caster when you bass fish a lot and use a variety of baits.  It will take some time to get used to, but it is well worth it.  You might start out with an Abu Garcia round reel.  I have an AG 6500 C3 and an Ambassadeur 6600 SX I like very much and they won't completely break the bank.  I subscribe to both MTB and LTB and really enjoy getting baits I wouldn't normally try out on my own.  It is forcing me to try new techniques and you do need some variety in rod/reel equipment to be able to use it all.

An example for me was trying a hollow-body frog on spinning gear without a heavy rod, I couldn't set the hook on the hits I was getting.  Now I have a heavy rod with a bait caster and braid and I set the hook easy.  The spinning rod is medium heavy, but it wasn't enough.

So, I guess the answer is, you might want to get a heavier setup to be able to fish some of the things you will get with these subscriptions.  Otherwise, you will be packing away a portion of the baits until you can properly fish them.

I got a nice Biwaa S Trout 5.5" in this month's LTB I can't wait to try out.  This is the LTB XL box.  The retail for that one bait alone is around $25 and I got a lot more in the $25 box including two other hard baits, some hooks and several packs of soft plastics.

I seen that, good "catch" I've watched the unboxing of the LTB last month and seen that but didn't see how it should be used..  I got a similar one I wanted to use in the deeper areas I go but haven't got lucky as of yet..  maybe it's because I was straight retriving maybe other times it was because of the leader to protect the bait from pike not sure what it is preventing me from a catch with it..  not many of my lures are still a Virgin but this one is

I got one of the Strout lures as well in my last LTB. My box is just the standard box. I commented on it here

I notice the dibble digest is the same issue I got in my box last month...looks like this box is the same one some other subscribers got in July, while I got a different one that month.

My August 2016 LTB standard Bass box.

- BD Series BD Shad 4" Slow Sink Green $20.00 *note - my lure the magnet had come out of the belly and was attached to the hook. I have sent a email to get this resolved. If it wasn't the most expensive bait in the box (and I want to use it) I would have let it go as things happen in mass production.

- Chasing Trophy Fish EOC 3.5" Stick Bait $7.50 There was absolutely zero information about the bait on the packaging No color no depth etc. It did say Made in China on one end of the box and the Card that details the baits stated "designed to dive 4 - 6 ft".

- Cabin Creek Bait Co. Buoy Worm 5ct. $5.79  # 68 Get The Net Original 4" Stand Up, Hand Dipped, Super Soft, Hollow Finesse Worm

- Mustad KVD Tripple Grip Short Shank Hooks $4.99 SIZE 2-4, REF TG76NP-RB, PCS 4

fishing user avatarMIbassyaker reply :

It's not a regular MTB, but I ordered this Catch Co box from them as an extra-- it's the "Up North Bass" box (sold out after a few days). What caught my eye were the JDM lipless crank and the Stanley spinnerbait, and the other items were all things I could put to good use:

UpNorthBassCatchCoBoxSept.jpg

--3/8oz Stanley Wedge Plus flash spinnerbait

--Duel Hardcore XX Vibe lipless crankbait

--Rapala Scatter Rap shad

--V&M smallie tubes

--Venom tube heads 1/4oz

--Optimum Baits hand pour drop shot kit

fishing user avatarS. Sass reply :

Not one of my better LTB boxes. This is the standard Bass LTB. The Biwaa stick bait is new to me and the Zero Gravity jig looks good. Even the *** could be OK. Although I'm not a fan of Little George style baits. Red plastic frogs not something I personally see myself using. Solid red plastic has not fared well for me ever. Previous box had solid red worms. Now for the Mustad hooks. Besides the fact I am not a EWG style fan I did like the catch at the top that held the bait. These and others I have seen do not have enough of a pronounced bend to hold very well at all. Not to.mention some very old school swivels I'll not use. So all in all I like about 50% of this box but the last ones have been better than average so I guess it's a wash. IMG_20160908_135637902_zpsbb4mee0r.jpg

I'm sure others will disagree, but...

I fishing only spinning gear, too.  I could purchase baitcasting gear (have the resources) and have owned some in the past... I just flat prefer spinning gear.

I don't think there's anything you can't do with spinning gear that you can do with baitcasters - and vice versa, in fairness.  Some things are EASIER or a little more well-suited to one type of setup or another.  But, with practice, you can flip and pitch and punch and so on with spinning gear if you prefer.

That said, save some cash and ask to play with a buddy's rod/reel and see what you think.  You might find you can really see the benefits of baitcasting tackle or really like it better.

Great question! Every box we send has a small magazine inside with fishing tips. We also make videos for most of the items we send on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/MysteryTackleBox/videos

Hope that helps!

Yes, there is also a link at the bottom of the About My Box card that takes you to the website where you can find all of the videos. We are going to be working on making this info more accessible in your account.

I use the plasmatail in that exact color a lot. Looks like you have the 4.5" version, the small one. I put that on a slider head and fish on the bottom, or a drop shot. The 6.5 I use on a shakyhead or mojo rig.  I posted a review of it a while back when it came out, after Biospawn sent me some samples in a random drawing of their email list, which I joined because they were a sponsor here:

I'd try putting the evil twin grubs on those jigs, and drag and hop them around.

The strike pro looks is a wake bait, or surface crankbait -- fish that as a topwater.

put the swimbait hooks on paddle-tail swimbaits if you have some, like a keitech.

put the garlic scent on the worms or grubs, if you want.

Good stuff.

--Mustad 4/0, 1/8oz swimbait hooks

--Garlic Scent

--MTB sticker

--Bait card

(no dibble digest this month?)

Good box...

That said, I am going to raise a criticism [EDIT: Addressed below! Mistake in packing the box]: The Vile Craws are a sample pack, but the bait card lists the price of a full pack. I do not mind samples at all. But MTB always used to adjust the price on the bait cards to reflect the value of the sample. It appears they no longer do this all the time, which disappoints me. Also, one of the selling points of the Pro box used to be that you would get full packs instead of samples. This apparently is also longer the case.

This was one of my long-standing problems with LTB, when I was a subscriber: the bait card would list the price of a full pack, even when they sent a sample, and thus the values of the boxes were often systematically exaggerated based on the bait card. LTB always said they "tried" to send full packs of plastics whenever they could; in practice, half of the packs I got were samples. But this was never reflected in the values on the bait card. And that never sat well with me, as it seems to mislead subscribers about the value they are getting. I don't mind samples, but I expect not to be mislead about what I'm getting. And it was always something I felt gave an advantage to MTB. Now, I see MTB is going the same route, and thus has lost that advantage.

So here is my message to MTB and LTB:  Please stop doing this. You both provide a good service with good value. You don't need to promote false impressions of that value. When you include samples, be honest about it and adjust the listed price to reflect the value of the sample. You know full well subscribers use the bait card to estimate the value of the box. I have seen representatives of both of your companies encourage subscribers to add up the prices on the card to estimate the value of the box. You must know this is misleading.

We still do distinguish between the value of full packs and sample packs and we also agree it's misleading not to do so. It actually appears that there was a mistake packing your box. The regular box had samples and the Pro should have had the full pack and it looks like we mistakenly put the wrong pack in there. Please contact our support team and we'll send you the correct baits said we'll as a link to the missing Dibble.

Hi,

I appreciate you taking the time to provide some honest feedback.  I will pass this concern along to my team.

As a consumer I don't want to feel mislead and as the procurer of LTB boxes would never want you to feel that way either.  Ultimately any subscription box company works with a particular budget.  Both MTB and LTB reduce the count of our soft plastics included to stay within this budget (and sometimes to reduce overall weight restrictions for shipping).  Sometimes we have provided a 5 pack when it might normally be an 8, other times we have provided a full pack.  It can vary from month to month.  I always want to ensure that our customers have at least 4 baits or more in their bags.  How one defines "sample" can be subjective but I'm open to consistently pro-rating values on the bait card.

At the end of the day. the dollar value is important to me in a box, but when constructing, I am more concerned about the overall collection of the products, how they work together and that they are appropriate for the season.  I feel like LTB consistently provides value in both areas that exceeds the price our customers pay for the box.

fishing user avatarDoelman reply :

Received my July MTB box yesterday.  It looks like they're starting to include more proprietary tackle from their Catch Co brand.  $5.29 for 4 soft plastics?  Give me a break, they may last 2 fish each, maybe.  If it had 8 to a pack I wouldn't be as salty. https://mysterytacklebox.com/brand/catch-co/catch-co-shimmer-shad

To sum up what was in this box : 3 god awful drop shot hooks that no one should ever use, 4 little lead drop shot weights, 8 soft plastics (4 were strike king), 1 hollow body frog (live target).  Good frog but the rest was really disappointing. I'm cancelling my sub if the next box is as bad as this one, especially if they keep including fictitiously price inflated proprietary tackle.

Thank you for the feedback. The reason the Shimmer Shads have a higher MSRP than traditional soft plastics is because the process to insert a foil strip into the bait, glue in the eyes, and hand-paint the bait two colors is a lot more labor than a traditional injection molded plastic. But these added details also make the bait a lot more realistic. Other products using similar technology and details retail from $7 to $9 on Tackle Warehouse for similar pack sizes. Here are some examples:

I detect a drop-shot theme.

There was some buzz about the trapper hooks a few months ago (classic release?). I'm skeptical of the design, but drop-shot is the one application where I can at least kind of see how to make it work.

About the Catch Co brand: I also have mixed feelings about including proprietary items too. But if it's an item here or there, say, every few boxes I don't mind, as long as it's good quality and not bargain-bin filler.

Well I caught one fish on the trapper hook and ended up having to bend the thing to get it out of the fish.  The bait sat on it fine and obviously it pinned the fish well, but if I can't get the dang thing out without destroying the hook it's pretty worthless to me.  Maybe you'll have better luck than me.

fishing user avatarAdventure team leader reply :

Sorry to say but after I opened my July box I decided I had tried MTB long enough. I cancelled last night. Too much little dinkie stuff that I'll probably never use. I do think the concept is good but I do think there needs to be a way to get more stuff that you would use. Maybe an upgrade from the pro box that lets the customer pick at least one item for their box.  I enjoyed about half of what I received.

One slight difference with LTB is that 99% of the time everyone gets the same box each.  We create tip and technique videos on each of the items in the box so its important that when I purchase products for the box that there are not multiple box variations.

Happy to help! Also, just a follow up on our PM, we looked at our system to see why it assigned you that box and we think we see the cause. Our system actually looks at recent past boxes you received and then tries to send you the most unique box possible (to reduce product overlap month over month). In this case, it looks like the most unique box for you was actually an older box, so it sent you that one. We are going to be reviewing our system logic and looking for ways to optimize (as we always do) and this is a great example of where we think some minor tweaks can further improve the experience.

Thanks again for raising the concern and the replacement box will be sent out shortly!

Apparently it looks like the computer made the mistake this time lol or I guess it was the computer engineer that designed it.  The box itself is actually good, just not for summer bass.

Some good late summer stuff. The single colorado spinnerbait looks made for night fishing (or in my case, pre-dawn, when I will most likely use it), and there is everything here for a punch rig with two different bait options.

Got the same. Was going to cancel until spring but they've got me wanting more. Keel up the good work MTB!!!!!

fishing user avatarHaywyr Dave reply :

So I signed up for MTB last month on the 17th I believe.  Within days I had shipping confirmation / tracking info, and 6 days later I received my first box. Very satisfied with my first MTB.

On the 20th of last month I signed up for LTB,  so I could compare the two. This was 3 days after my MTB subscription.  I was promptly charged, but unlike MTB I didn't get any shipping info. So I waited and finally got shipping info on the first of this month.  Except the tracking didn't change at all for 6 days. When it finally updated, it was scheduled to be delivered right in the middle of Hurricane Irma. So it wasn't,  although I expect it to come today.

Today, I was charged for the next month, so at this point I've paid for 2 months and received nothing from LTB. At the same time, my 2nd MTB is scheduled to be delivered today or tomorrow.  So I might end up with 2 MTBs, before I have gotten my first LTB, even though I've been charged twice for both.

Extremely disappointed, and unless there is some magical every cast fish catching device in my LTB, it's easy to see which subscription I'll  keep.

So, you're disappointed that Irma affected your shipment, and blame them for that?

Hey Dave,

MTB is a great company and while we are both similar within the fishing subscription model, there are some slight differences.  One being how we ship and the dates of your renewal.  Please email me directly at john@luckytacklebox.com your email so I can track your package and make sure you received your box still with all of this unfortunate weather.  Most importantly, I hope you, your friends and family were not too effected by Irma living in Florida.

I think it's fantastic that you are trying both of MTB and LTB's boxes (I encourage everyone to do so) but I would ask that you not judge either of us on the things that are ultimately out of our control (weather, shipping issue, etc)

Tight lines!

Got the MTB Pro in the mail yesterday, it was a pretty big fail.  Two of the house brand (Catch co) small jerk baits, in the exact same color. Two packages of Mustad treble hooks, both size 8.  Livetarget gizzard shad, got one from LTB last month in threadfin shad, not a good lure and now I have 2 of them.  Lunkerhunt hollow body frog and a surface popper.  A bit late in the season for topwater, could have used those in June, but whatever.  White swim jig and a package of soft plastic creature baits... no issue there, just meh...

Overall pretty disappointed, especially getting two of the exact same lure in the same color.  I was expecting more from the Pro box.  Oh well, I gave it a try.  Cancelled my subscription last night.

You don't know what you're missing if you aren't throwing top water right now. I caught my PB in early October throwing a frog in the pads.

I must admit I was a little let down by my box. Not too bad though. It seem I got the same frog and treble hooks a couple months ago. I've gotten the Pro Box I believe 5 months now and this is the first one I was a little bummed by. It was only a little bummed.First kind of let down in 5 months I'd say is pretty good. I've suspended my subscription until spring. Fishing season is winding down up here.

The action does not instill confidence, just very slight tail movement side to side, but maybe that's the whole point.  I'm sure it will work in the right situation, but the couple of times I've used it when bass are feeding on baitfish it did not produce.  I'll give it another try this weekend when I'm out fishing in the Chesapeake Bay for stripers.

Fish it on the bottom, like you're dragging a football jig.  You'll get bit.

Thanks for the feedback. There should only be one Catch Co. hunch and one pack of hooks in your box. If you received two then the packer likely put in some extras by mistake, which is why they are the same color/sizes.

Give the topwater baits a try this fall! Topwater is generally considered a great fall technique and that's why we included those baits. Here are some articles that may help:

Question for LTB.

I keep seeing online advertisements for LTB Tournament Series.  Do you have a new box coming?

If so, what is different about this box?

Adding pic of the advertisement.

fishing user avatarbueshy reply :

After being subscribed to MTB for 6 months, I decided to give LTB a try.  The first months box was fine.  I just received my second months box and am very concerned with what came in the box.  The very first thing I noticed was the progressive insurance advertisement  I'm bombarded by advertisements in my daily life, everywhere I go.  I don't need more advertisement in something I'm paying for. The second thing I noticed was the Tiger Balm? What is that and why is that being sent in a fishing lure box?  In the picture is the card with the items that were included in the box.  Does anyone see Tiger Balm on the list?  The last thing that I noticed after looking at the rest of the box was the pack of Mustad Mushroom jig head hooks.  Great, I could use those, if someone hadn't removed one of the hooks from the sealed package and replaced it with a *** hook that isn't even close to being related.  This box was sealed with tamper proof tape that had clearly not been tampered with prior to delivery, leading me to believe that someone intentionally packed a box with these items in it.  Needless to say, my subscription has been canceled.

@John Loughlin Since you are the LTB rep here, care to explain what was wrong with my box?

IMG_0291.jpg

fishing user avatarJ Francho reply :

The list clearly says: Ned Jig Head & Ultra Lock Worm Hook, which is what is pictured.  They generally match the hooks to the baits you receive.  Use the Ultra Lock on that soft swimbait.  I guess you can throw out the bonus Tiger Balm.

fishing user avatar12poundbass reply :

Long day on the water rub a little Tiger Balm on your achy joints. I find it helpful and thoughtful. It wasn't on the list so like J said it's a bonus. I've received garlic scent in my MTB granted that's fishing related but so are achy joints. Give it a try, just a tip don't get any on you twig and berries you'll feel it for quite a while! ????

Both companies are the same no matter what some might say. That being said upgrade to the pro box. Much better!

My wife got me MTB (basic) a couple years ago and then LTB (upgraded box) this year for Christmas.  It's hard to compare the products included since they were two different levels of box, but I'd definitely go with the upgraded box.

I've had a some issues with one of the companies.  I'm not going to bash them publicly for it since I didn't pursue it and give them a chance to make things right.

Regardless... I'd surely recommend it to anyone that enjoys bass fishing.

Hmm alright so upgraded box is the way to go. I see MTB has an elite box shipping out this month. Maybe I’ll wait and see the reviews on that.

fishing user avatarImThatGuy reply :

If you want more high end baits, go with MTB elite.  If you want to build up your tacklebox quickly, go for LTB tournament series.

I found that MTB Pro Box was adding too much of their own brand (Catch Co).  But I love the elite box.  It will be my only box going forward.

On the LTB tournament box, many have been disappointed that some baits are repeats front prior months.  Not a concern for a new subscriber though. Alot of baits!

I also have mixed feelings about the Catch Co items. Some of them I like, and they permit MTB to put together coherent themes to the boxes. Some however have had serious quality control problems. And of course, since the catch-co brand doesn't actually retail anywhere other than MTB, the "retail value" of the items isn't very meaningful.

The catch-co items have almost entirely taken over the standard box now. This is probably fine if you're starting out. Not so fine, however, if one of the main reasons you subscribe is to get a variety of items from a diverse companies you might not know about. The last couple years I've done a pro box Apr-Sep and a standard box Oct-Mar. But I see no reason to keep getting the standard box anymore, so it looks like I'll just be a half-year subscriber from here on out.

The elite box is...well, sorry, it's just too much for a mystery selection of baits for my taste. I still like the pro box, though. Here's what I got in April:MTBapr18.thumb.jpg.7a856909c4d3ce4d61c51a44827618f8.jpg

That’s a pretty large box, how many boxes would you recommend?

Again I’m starting out, no tackle, the 3 month sub is like 140 dollars. So would the 3 tournament boxes be a better investment versus spending that 140 selecting your own stuff?

Sorry not trying to over analyze everything, just on a tight budget so trying to maximize my value for money spent.

If starting from scratch, I would just buy what I wanted from tackle warehouse.

My preferences

A few pack of senkos

Zoom baby brush hogs

Zoom original worm

Texas rig terminal tackle

Shakey head

Jigs

Chatterbait

Whopper Plopper

Squarebill

Jerkbait

Spinnerbait

If you can afford it after that, 6 months of either box will have you well stocked.

MTB also offers a beginners subscription, but I do not know much about it.

fishing user avatarirunsides reply :

I joined the site here last month while looking for information and gear reviews in preparation for a fishing trip I had planned. Very glad I did by the way great community. While looking around the site I found this thread and decided to try both MTB and LTB. I ordered both Starting with the Pro and XL version respectively, but after receiving the MTB pro box I was impressed enough that I upgraded both to the Elite and Tournament series. I Had very little tackle all of mine was stolen while I was in the hospital several years ago I had one 3500 box and cheap spinning rod to start this year but since first of the year I have been building my collection up again as funds have permitted. With this situation almost all of the tackle I have gotten from both MTB and LTB will be useful to me. I have ordered a good deal of add on items with both services rods, reels, tackle, line clippers etc, and so far almost all of it has exceeded my expectations.

Trying to determine what is best for me I think going forward I will be keeping the LTB tourney series and I will explain why . While both services are great and a bargain for what is received for sure the LTB box seemed to serve my preferences for ways I like to fish and when and where I will fish. I did receive tackle that would expand my fishing more with MTB so if you subscribe to learn new ways of fishing MTB was successful more than LTB in this regard. Rebuilding my tackle collection however I feel will be better served by what I got from the LTB box. At the Elite and Tourney series level both boxes offered very high quality baits even including several from the Japanese market which are known to be of the highest quality I really feel both were equal in this regard.

I wish I could afford to keep both services active but I am unable to do so and since I must choose one I will be using LTB and from time to time I will get  MTB box as I can afford to. Again both services exceeded my expectations offer good value for the money spent. Kudos to both MTB and LTB great services good products and I look forward to the future orders I receive from both companies. I wish services such as these were available when I was younger healthier and able to fish more. For the benefit of anyone interested in what I received I will list the contents of both April boxes below and if anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask I will answer to the best of my ability.

I did not mind the catch co items they seem to be of good quality and on par with most of the more well known brand baits I have used. What made MTB my second choice was the fact that I am restocking my essential items and not trying to find new methods and baits at this time so the baits I got from LTB were more suited to methods I know and use currently. In the future once I have a better stock of tackle I think MTB would be very interesting for learning or trying new fishing methods or baits. Again for me I thought both had a very high quality of tackle and both services offered choices that would be effective in catching fish. I did not receive anything that seemed useless just with MTB some of the baits were more method and time specific which some what limits how the items could be used. I am going the 29-30th to a lake a few hours away from my home for few days of fishing for smallmouth, wipers, and catfish mainly I will get good use of the baits I got with my boxes and look forward to trying a few I have not used and seeing how they work. I hope to continue receiving the tournament series box from LTB and throwing a elite box in from MTB as finances allow.

I went to a small local lake the other night and I was able to use several items I got in a catfish box from LTB and had great success with few items that I would normally not have bought to try so the catfish box added some diversity my fishing already. I have a feeling that over time I will really enjoy the attraction of getting random but useful baits each month. I hope I continue to get things I am happy with and that the service does not become repetitive or less useful and interesting. I really wish I could afford using both services each month but I just cant make myself do it I am to cheap I guess. I hope everyone else who orders is as happy with what is offered as I have been. Good luck on the water and tight lines all.

Took me a bit to get the touch with them, a Lizard and the magnum bug which was pretty big.

BEST DAY OF THE SEASON SO FAR!!! Love the rage tails and can't wait to try out the other lures in the box.

Bad news is I gotta wait a whole month for the next one... ;)

MTB I think is now more formerly partnered or owned by Karls Bait and Tackle.  I think they are doing a great job, offer frequent discounts, have a nice selection and I enjoy their various packs outside of MTB.

OTB (Outlet Bait and Tackle) seems of similar quality to what I've received from LTB and MTB.

It's usually not too hard to get a pretty good discount on the first box from any of these to try them out.  I can't really speak to how good the true value was nor whether the variety would continue to be good from month to month.
