So I am upgrading my trebles with Mustad KVD Elites and Trokar trebles. Went through the Mustads first and then opened the first Trokar and it is completely defected. I don't understand!
____ happens
d**n, that's pretty crazy.
Isn't that a $3 hook?
It's basically a Sure-Set treble. I'd stick it on the back of a crank and roll with it
Thats totally unexceptable, when theres only 2 in a pack! Id send the pic to them and they should send you 2 packs as to make it right........
I get that it's an expensive hook and unacceptable quality but give them a chance to make it right.
For what it's worth, I have no affiliation with Trokar and have never bought one of their products, but how companies deal with issues like this is how I perceive them when making purchasing decisions.
What's wrong with it? Looks like it's designed as being the front hook on a crankbait and the large hook is supposed to point down when you rig it.

Or they could say since there are only two in a pack you could have easily seen this as an issue prior to purchasing. I hate this mentality of getting more because of a mistake...
Anyways, either take it back to where it was purchased or contact them directly and i am sure they will take care of you.
Well you wouldnt have seen it,if you ordered them?As far as getting more,it wasnt about that. It just would be a nice way to remedy a problem and be good customer relations! GEEEESH
I didn't see where he said he ordered them. And a nice way to remedy a problem is to give the customer the product they ordered. Good customer relations does not mean giving more product for nothing, sorry. I cannot stand people thinking that just because a company makes a mistake it entitles them to give more than what you originally purchased, unless of course the customer is perfect and never makes mistakes then i can understand the feeling.
I ordered a lot of them. This was the first one I opened. Some trebles come with offset hooks but these are not supposed to be like that. I emailed them the pic only because it is a 2 pack and $7 per pack. If it was a cheaper, I wouldn't care as much and toss it in the trash. I was paying for quality so I expected quality. I know there are gonna be defects in everything made by man.

I will be interested to see what they say so keep us posted.
And they should replace them. As far as a extra pack of 2 i suggested, was out of pure generosity on their behalf, if they wanted too.Just a way to make it right,NOT TO GET MORE, as stated by another.

sorry i misunderstood it when you said they should send you 2 packs to make it right....
Il bet they make off sets to and one just got mixed in the lot. Most likely machine bagged.
Off set? Ive seen them but can't recall what they called them is that it?
I'd like to have a few for some of my baits. Looks like a good idea.
As far as them making good I bet they do. As said it is pretty much common practise for most businesses to send a few extras to make it rite. Doesn't cost them hardly anything. And they no word of mouth can hurt big time.

Rapala puts them on the Clackin' Rap

Thats rite that was it! When I seen it I thought it was brilliant. Although it will hang the bottom more easily. Il bet it hangs fish better to. I've been up sizing my hooks on some lipless baits. Cause the flat sided baits seem to slip out of there mouths a lot sometimes.

I don't remember the science behind it. I've caught fish on the Clackin' Rap. Don't know if they were hooked better than a regular bait or not.
VMC makes the hooks for the Rapala and it appears they are the same company or same ownership. The Sure Set hook
I thought Trokar was EagleClaw

It is
i still can't believe they sell one treble hook for $3.50
I have been contacted by Trokar. They will make it right.
I do not use Rapala often but recently bought a DT-4 for .98 cents. The back hook on it has one long shaped treble.
Thats kind of crazy that something like that makes it through QC
Yea, things like this happen from time to time. Probably got by quality control somehow.Try calling Trokar customer service, they just might send you a a new pack for free.
Not the first one I've ever misshapen, and on the peg for sale. I had seen another one that had a short hook point on one side and a long point on the opposite, like the bending mechanism had gotten off center.
I have taken a liking to their flipping hooks, but I wouldn't ever buy their trebles. There are hooks that are just as good for less per hook.
Ive seen hooks like this for years. Its designed to be like a trailer hook. One shank longer than the other 2
Yeah that's the new and improved treble hook. The treble hook that comes with it's own "trailer hook."

And I was just kidding. Seriously?

I can't believe folks pay $3.50 for a hook. Oh, and the give me twice the goods cause you made a mistake is just silliness, how about you pay me twice the price when you bounce a check or your CC is declined...
UPDATE!
They sent me a new pack of the trebles and also threw in a sticker and a pack of the Worm hooks that I use. They said their hooks should not look like that and they have quality control measures in place to prevent it from happening.
Trokar worm hooks are the truth. My hookup ratio has increased significantly since I switched to primarily Trokar.

As has been posted Rapala puts them on most of their cranks, called a sure set. David Fritz design, some ppl love them some don't
yeah I have rapalas that come like that out the box.On 12/9/2013 at 10:11 AM, slonezp said:What's wrong with it? Looks like it's designed as being the front hook on a crankbait and the large hook is supposed to point down when you rig it.

I am a rapala fan and they do use the extended treble on quite a few of their cranks. I am indifferent but i did have one break off when i was unhooking a fish so i guess it worked just long enough to get the bass to the boat
