Which trailers do you like best and catch the most fish? Relatively new to fishing and am starting to jig fish so some favorite jig suggestions would also be nice.
Netbait Paca Chunk
Netbait Paca Craw (Baby or Reg)
Strike King Rage Tail Craw
SK Rage Tail DB Craw
I use the Baby Rage Craws and Paca Craws more than others, but have used many in the past.
big bite yodaddy and missile baits d bomb
paca chunks
rage craws
pit bosses
Netbait B Bug
Traditional jigs: Rage Tail Lobster, Craw, DB Craw and Baby Craw
Swim jigs: Rage Tail Meance and Shellcracker
Agree with the Paca Chunks. I've bought a few different kinds this year to try, and they seem to "fit" the jigs pretty well, and they're not very expensive, so it's no big deal if one rips off.
PowerTeam Lures Craw D'Oeuvres (subtle), Conviction Craws (wider profile) and Texas Rig Jigs (adds bulk to the overall skirted jig profile).
Zoom ultra vibe speed craw in black sapphire.
Way to go Hanover!!!
Powerteam Lures(PTL) Craw D'oeuvres is the best trailer for 1/8 to 5/16 oz jigs it is perfect size and the action will not over power your jig.
The PTL Conviction Craws make great trailers for those 3/8.to 1/2 oz jigs. With its wider profile when it's flip'd in grass or pads it mimics a Bluegill very effectively.
If it's not one of those first choices I can use:
Rage Craws (rocks)
Reaction Innovations 3.8 Sweet Beaver (grass)
Grande Bass Mega Claws (mud and wood)
Paca Craws when they want something that flaps, beavers when they don't, and GYCB fat baby craws when they are being really picky. I use a Rage tail grub almost exclusivly on my swim jigs.
Strike King Rage Craw, Xcita baits Raptor Tail Jr and Power Team Craw D'oeurve are some of my favorites. In colder water I will sometimes use a PoorBoys Craw Daddy or Reaction Innovation Smallie Beaver.
I like the Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craws. I try to match the craw with the Jig. But you can be creative. There are a lot of options on colors.
I agree with the paca chunk fans.good size, great action on swim jigs.Plenty of colors.
I like Rage Chunks, Rage Craws, Zoom Chunks and Super Chunks, and twin tail grubs. But my all time favorite is a big bass. For best results, be sure to hook it through the top lip.
For a lot of action and vibration I like the rage tail chunk/craw/lobster just depends on the size of the jig. For subtle action and not a lot of vibration I like the zoom fat Albert twin tails and for a really subtle action with little to no action I like just a regular zoom super chunk. But my secret with jig trailers lies in the packages they come in. I spray the inside of the bags about 4 good sprays of the Powerteam Hogtonica and the plastics just soak it up like a sponge if you look in the bag about a week after you spray it there will be little to no oil but the trailers themselves will be gorged full of it and I've found that the Hogtonica and the regular clear JJ's magic garlic are the best out there but the hogtonica IMO just can't be beat
SK Rage Tail Lobster
And for something different try the SK Eeliminator -

With the Menace or twin tail grub trailer for a swim jig, do you rig it parallel with the hook or perpendicular like you would with a craw? I read when using single tail grub tail down..need some help. Thanks
I used to mainly go with the netbait paca chunk but then they came out with the Berkeley havoc rocket craw and I now have a new main trailer that I use. Great action, I like the long antennas to help the action, the claws float better than the paca and the range tail all at a great price. Hard to beat. The Havoc line of baits really put some good baits on the market
Paca Chunk. Plenty of colours and at a very reasonable price.
I also like the Zoom UV Speed Craw for a smaller profile.

Run the hook from the top through the body so that the bait is straight.
Fished alone, I rig the tail flat or horizontal; as a trailer vertical like a baitfish.
It's important that the Menace be uniform, not bunched up.
I love Rage Craws, DB Craws, and my favorite Missile Baits D Bombs. I just bought like 8 packs of Berkley Havoc Ikes Devil Spear and I'm hoping to try these out soon.

Learning to fish jigs for nearly everyone is difficult and thinking a particular jig trailer will be the panacea to catching jig fish is misleading. RgaeTail is a site sponsor and they have good soft plastic jig trailers that cover both crawdad and bluegill shapes. There are dozens of soft plastic jig trailers on the market to choose from and suggest you limit yourself to to 1 or 2 brands in single and double tail design. My choice is Gary Yamamoto because that is the brand that has proven to work where and how I fish. However my first choice or jig trailers are not soft plastic, I use pork rind jig trailers 90% of the time. However pork rind is a poor choice for novice jig anglers, messy and must be kept wet.
What is more important is the style of jig you choose to use and how you fish it.

Flipping jig - Zoom Super chunk or Baby paca chunk by netbait ( if the jig has a trailer keeper I generally prefer the paca)

Swim jig- Zoom Twin Tail grub
netbait paca chunks
zman turbo craws
misslebaits D bombs

"With the Menace or twin tail grub trailer for a swim jig, do you rig it parallel with the hook or perpendicular like you would with a craw?" The fish will tell you if you let them... When they're feeding heavily on bait fish (brim/shad etc) perpendicular gets bit more and when their foraging more on crayfish, of course parallel. "I read when using single tail grub tail down." Yes rig it tail down so that during the retrieve, the tail rises up directly behind the hook. "need some help. Thanks" Hope that helps...
BTW, my most often used trailer is a Lobster but will change to any one of my others as needed. On deep ledges, I'll often use a Thumper, Anaconda or ReCon Worm as a trailer.
I like the SK super chunks, and the small salty chunks. But I will use any plastic in the tackle bag as a trailer.

Yes that does help. Thank you.
I swim my jigs a lot and "fat albert twin tails" very effective
I got these two 3/8 oz Swim Jigs for a steal on eBay. They are made by Custom Bait Co. One is the blue gill color the other is yellow perch. Any suggestion on color and trailer for the yellow perch? Thanks!
Rage Chunk, Rage Craw, Reaction Innovations sweet beaver, netbait paca chunk, Havoc Pit Boss, Double Tail Grub, and Yamamoto Kreatures are may favorites
I like the Rage chunks, Paca chunks, Havoc Grass Pigs, and Zoom fat alberts
Best jigs are at SiebertOutdoors.com (that one was easy).
My favorite trailer has been the Yamamoto Medium Craw but I have a bunch of the Yamamoto Psycho Dads
that might knock the Medium Craw off of its throne.
Now on Swim jigs (Bloody Shad from SiebertOutdoors.com is the best), I like a 5" white Yamamoto grub or a 4" Yamamoto Swim Senko.

4" Swim Senkos are awesome on Swim Jigs too.
