fishing user avataroprcsr reply :

Love the spro one. I'd like to get a King Daddy as well, and I'm anciously awaiting the Captain Ken custom frogs as well.

spro

fishing user avatar7mm-08 reply :

I'd have to go with the cheap little Scum Frog popper.  I like the Spro too, but in the places I fish, I can catch 2X or even 3X the amount of fish with the Scum Frog.

fishing user avatarSoFlaBassAddict reply :

Hollow Body:  Spro Bronzeye Poppin Frog

Soft Plastic:  Rage Shad, Zoom Horny Toad, Gambler Cane Toad

fishing user avatarendless reply :

Spro #16 Leopard.

fishing user avatariceintheveins reply :

So far the spro bronze eye jr. has produced the most bass for me, but action wise and thanks to the drain, I like the Madd Maxx an awful lot. I always carry scumfrog poppers and they catch lots of fish too.

fishing user avatardavehu reply :

my buddy is sponcered by snaggproof so i get some free custom color ones that he makes at there shop. so snag proof all the way.

fishing user avatarShane J reply :

For hollow body, the Spro is it! For buzz toads, Rage Toad is awesome!

fishing user avatarSkeet22 reply :

Personally I think the rage toads are a little stiff and you have to bring them in pretty fast to get good action out of the legs. You can very slowly roll a ribbit and cause some comotion with the legs.

fishing user avatarGangley reply :

ZOOM Horny Toad....never fails me.

fishing user avatarfishinflip415 reply :

Are we talking toads or frogs? Frogs are hollow body and toads are soft plastics that are worked like buzzbaits. My favorite frog is snag proof either ish's phat frog or bobbys berfect. I also use spro sometimes but mainly stick with snag proof. My favorite toads are zoom Horney toads.  8-)

fishing user avatarriverat reply :

Spro Frog and Popper in Leopard, Tropical White and Midnight Walker.

How you like the Madd Maxx Rotten Pumpkin?? I'm still without a hit on that one. I think next time I'm going to put my Spro Leopard and Madd Maxx Rotten Pumpkin to a test on this pond that I know they will hit the Spro at. I haven't try the Madd Maxx there yet to know.

i like both the spro and the mad maxx, they are the only ones i've tried and i've had success on both. The mad maxx has a better drainage system, other than that they are very similar

Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog

now thats a frog! my pick for sure!

I really like the ribbits as my buzz frog choice the rage toad/shad are awesome when fish wants something moving really fast.

I also catch ALOT of fish on my Deps Rat'n Rat

fishing user avatarHopelesslyAddicted reply :

All you guys who love those spro frogs should look into this.

http://www.***.com/Fish_Arrow_Cover_Jack_/descpage-FACJ.html

Unfortunately this particular vendor only has one color at the moment, but these are my favorite hollow bodied frog by far.  Easier to walk then the spro, and it comes with a blade attachment as well as the skirt.  The hook-sets are also much better than the spro because the bait can rotate all the way away from the hookpoints when you set it.  The thing just flat out produces for me almost everywhere I fish it.

I run a little online tackle store and I just got the spro in an all new red ear color. It looks awesome, best color yet.  I can't wait to try.I have used all frogs but the perfect and will take the spro over all I have tried by a land slide.

yep!!

fishing user avatarKC Bass Fanatic reply :

Honestly I can't narrow it down to one.  They all have their time and place.  I throw Bronzeye Poppers, Mad Maxx, and Trophy Scum frogs - they all catch.

I'm recently addicted to the Rage Toad as well.  I keep one tied on when I'm throwing a hollow body frog.  If a fish blows up and misses, I come right back with the rage toad and just let it sink at the scene of the crime.  It works.

The King Daddy in black is hard to beat for night fishing.

fishing user avatarChiCityBasser reply :

Spro Bronzeye jr. and caught my first and only frog bass so far on it...in the avatar ;):(

fishing user avatarbrushhoggin reply :

a spro and some ribbits are all I need

fishing user avatarScorcher214 reply :

i haven't had a any luck with my spros, I'm fishing some REALLY nasty stuff. The slop is like a half inch everywhere. The bass can hit my spro but dont get hooked. But the scumfrog has a better hook up ratio for me. Is there a way to soften the body of the spro bronzeye

fishing user avatarRandySBreth reply :

Of course, you need a good 8-weight fly rod to cast it...

fishing user avatarHornytoad 10 reply :

What about the optimum furbit frog?

Are you sure they're taking it in their mouth or just blowing up on it?  The reason I'm asking is because I have never had an issue with hooking up on Spros.  If I miss a fish, it's 99% my fault.  Try waiting until your rod loads up fully - this may seem like eternity - sometimes as long as 10-15 seconds.  They won't spit it and they won't swallow it either so waiting doesn't hurt you.

fishing user avatarMicro reply :

The River 2 Sea Bully Wa is great.  But the Step Wa sucks.  Reel it too slow and it has no action.  Reel it too fast and it dives and spins.  It is a one-speed only frog.  And getting a hook up is harder than Chinese arithmetic.

fishing user avatarBuzbait88 reply :

I love the spro's, but I just made an order to tackle warehouse for the bose sumo frog, ish's phat frog and the tru tungsten mad maxx frog and they all look like great frogs.

For soft plastics I like yum buzzfrogs and some other frogs from a custom company called hawgpours.  I like rage tails, but they have more of a splashing sound.  The ones from hawgpours have more of a bubbleing sound.

fishing user avatarjerkw8nonajerk01 reply :

#1 madd maxx in busta slime(black and red)

#2 scum frog little bigfoot ....as far as missing hooksets..i had to break down and spool up some braid 65 pd.....my hook up percentage went way up...like double...just try it I was way skeptical because I didn't want to dedicate a set up for just frog fishing...but after breaking down going to 7ft med hvy with the braid really made a differrence...thnks greentop

fishing user avatarGale1980 reply :

spro and sumo frog for me. if the sumo's held up a little longer they would be in a class by themselves. they get the hooks hung up after a while and poke holes in the sides.....

fishing user avatarcrappiekid24 reply :

I like the Spro frogs and Tru-Tungsten Mad Maxx for hollow bodied frogs. For soft plastic frogs I like Zoom Horny Toads.

fishing user avatardeaknh03 reply :

I love ghostbaits frogs, that guy makes a sweet frog!!

fishing user avatarHornytoad 10 reply :

Well, Y'all have convinced me to get some bobby's perfect frogs, sumo frogs, And some Phat frogs. Thank you for all of your replies, keep em' coming!!! ;)

fishing user avatarjignfule reply :

spro's bronze eye

fishing user avatarTourPT reply :

1. Spro Popper

2. Spro 65

3. Scum Frog Popper (Not the best built frog, nor the easiest to cast, but this puppy has produced hundreds of bass for me over the years. It's still my go to frog come tournament time for it flat out produces)

4. Mann's Super Frog in Poison Dart Color

Maybe Mad Max in that list also. Just got a couple of the new ones, they seem pretty good especially since there using softer material now, but I have not fished them yet.

The Furbit that someone here asked about would be in that list also, however it a little over priced at 11 bucks and the legs don't stay in to well. I have caught some nice bass on it though. But with the Spros being $8.49 and the Scum Frogs being $2.79, I don;t see myself buying many Furbits if any more at all.
