Frogging seems to be a popular topic right now. So what is everyones favorite brand of frog and color?
My go to is Spro Bronzeye 65 in Natural Red.
Booyah Pad Crasher in cricket frog
I like the kvd sexy frogs. Color means nothing to me honestly. I just have one with a white belly and one with a black belly. The bass see nothing else
Well, this isn't exactly a frog, but it is in the hollow bodied topwater family. I am a huge fan of the Koppers Live Target Field Mouse. I can cast this sucker a mile, walks the dog well, and when that rubbery tail is dangling in a hole through the lily pads, those bass explode on it. Just a great lure.

I've been eye-balling that bait for a while -
I think I'm going to snag a couple and see what happens - should be fun.
Thanks

A-Jay,
Here is a trick that I learned with that lure that doesn't seem to be as effective with a standard frog. I would work the bait into a position where the nose of the mouse is just resting on a lily pad and the backend and tail are in an opening. I would then just quickly shake my rod tip, which results in the quivering of the tail of that mouse while in place (frog tentacles just don't quiver as well as that rubbery tail). I have had bass just explode on that mouse as it quivered there. The technique literally doubled my strike rate, as I think the not so active bass get active as they see this mouse queeveing on the surface.

Out-Standing !
Thanks for the tip.
I'll let you know how it goes.

My favorite is definitely the pad crashed. Color doesn't really matter, the only thing that matters is the color of the frogs belly. Black has been working the best for me.

I used that same frog for years, color and all. I switched to booyah pad crasher a couple years ago. They work just as well for me, but last A LOT longer
I use the pad crashers some as well, as well as both Ish's and Bobbys frogs by Snagproof. Actually just ordered a R2S Bully Wa....but when the fish are not that aggressive or if Im fishing with someone and they seem to be catching and for whatever reason Im not.....Its time to break out the Natty Red Spro. I fish a local refuge alot that as the summer goes on the duckweed gets thicker and thicker hanging over tons of coontails...So finding that perfect frog for that place I think is next to impossible because depending on wind and rain that has came through the thickness can vary alot from trip to trip. I just keep adding more frogs.

Incorrect. The bass can easily see the sides of the lure, and depending on the style frog and the way it sits in the water, part of the back as well.
Only a bass directly underneath and looking straight up will see only the belly.
Lunker hunter
Favorite Frog - Kopper's Live Target. Most realistic patterns and it bobs through the water mimicking a fleeing frog better than the Spro, IMO. Best part is that it comes in 3 sizes. I kill on the smallest size.
What no love for Live target frogs?? LOL... those are my favorite..
BTW... just in case anybody wanted to know. Dick's is/was having a sick sale in my neck of the woods on Booyah frogs. I picked one up for $2.99!! Crazy!!

You are correct sir... i mainly fish with the 2 bigger sizes. They are great frogs that can handle a beating...
Also... Dick's are selling LT frogs for $7.99 that's $3 cheaper than BPS !!

I've done this, just more at the edge of a mat of grass.....you're correct sir, it's KILLER

Looks like I'm buying a mouse.

Reminds me of a maneuver touted by Ish Monroe.
After crossing an open hole, he parks the head of the frog on a lily pad,
then twitches the skirt of the frog over the opening.

I've been using the Booya Pad Crasher in Swamp Frog and Leopard Frog and the KVD Sexy Frog in Spring Frog. The Pad Crashers have been out fishing the KVD frog by a large margin. I have other frogs as well but, since buying the Pad Crashers they're getting the most water time.
Bobbys perfect by Snagproof with a few mods is hands down the best frog I have ever fished. It is one of the harder frogs to fish but when you get it down it flat out performs. In fact I am probably going to sell off my spros. I also like the R2 sea spittin wa when it comes to popping frogs.
spro poppin frog
Poppin Pad Crasher.
pad crasher is my go-to
windy, the furbit going away - otherwise the snagproof tweety

+1 Booyah Pad Crasher is easily the best value vs. performance in frogs ...Pick up a couple of colors (one lighter / one darker) and then focus on your technique .
Snag proof
I have used a lot of frog imitations over the years. I still haven't found any that compare to the old Bill Plummer "Super Frog" They actually sound like a frog when they hit the water and walk just like a real frog. They have been out of production for a few years but I just picked up 3 on E Bay. Those Pad crushers and others with the hooks turned up give me problems with hook ups even when I bend the hook points out slightly. I'll stick with the old tried and proven as long as I can find them. However, those new Savage gear frogs look like they might be worth trying.
Good, I don't see my favorite, **** (gr)ass **** frog in the list...
I like Koppers LiveTarget frog in leopard white.. or spro bronze eye (any color with a white or yellow belly as we have a whole box of them).

Z-Man Hard Leg Frogz
They last almost forever and they float.
I have a liking for popping frogs and popping toads.
The late Lubina and myself were the only 2 members on the boards touting the Sizmic Popp'n Toad.
My favorite frog is the Spro Bronzeye Popping Frog - rainforest yellow.

I'm not certain exactly what the deal is but this color combination has been absolutely killing them for me for the last 2 years. Because its belly has chartreuse, white, small black dots, and a touch of orange I'm not sure that it isn't more of a bream or bluegill pattern more so than an actual frog. Either way I'm not complaining because it consistently out performs any other colors I throw. An added bonus is that this color isn't locally available so I'm thinking there aren't that many guys using it.
Spro King Daddy, it's a big fish catching machine!
