How's the details on that rod? Handle?
Custom built...

Heck if I know. Based on looks and such, I'd
maybe opt for a St. Croix Legend Elite or maybe
a JDM rod.

It's just beautifully simple. There's no real bling or anything, but the build quality rivals my high end customs. It's just a fishing machine. It's the most sensitive rod in my stable, but the thing I love most is the balance. I've had a Steez, CI4+, Tatula, Curado, etc. and they all balance right under the nose of the reel. The handle is a beautiful woven carbon. It's smooth and can get a bit hot in the sun, but it doesn't slip at all when wet and it's easy to keep clean.

Sweet! Thanks for the user feedback, been contemplating this for awhile, handle looks wicked cool.
Of the rods I own it would be the G. Loomis GLX MBR852C or BCR893.
I use the NRX 853, I find it amazing.
NRX 803 is what I'm using.
Hootie
I use a cork handle Shimano Crucial CRCX610MH. If I needed anything more I'd like a custom built on a St. Croix blank.
I have three rods that I use for jigs: G.Loomis NRX 854C, G.Looomis GLX MBR844C, and a Powell Timax 734 HCF. All are excellent, but I give a slight edge to the Timax.
The 3 custom ALX rods I have.

How do the NRX854c and the GLX MBR844c compare with each other?

I've got a custom Deputy and Dragger. Dang fine rods.
GLX 854C is what I am using for 3/8-1/2 oz.
I use St. Croix SCV's now but I would love to try a NRX.

Hopefully you will get the chance after the Holidays.

I adore this stick for 1/2 oz swim jigs.

The NRX is a bit more sensitive but you can't go wrong with either rod. My experience has been that rod sensitivity differences at the GLX price level and above is minimal.
Megabass orochi xx emtf. It's a little hvy for 1/4 oz jigs, for 1/4, the flat side special would probably be ideal.
I would have a custom built rod by otter rods on a st croix sc5 or NFC HM blank. Building a rod to do exactly what you want it to do will bring about the best results. Otherwise your just trying to find a fit for the application out of the mass produced rod lineup.
Anything G. Loomis, especially the NRX models if they have one you favor.
G.Looomis GLX MBR844C or Lamiglas XL 844 custom.

I have 2 GLX MBR 844c They are WONDERFUL rods. I was wondering how a NRX rod (893/894 / 854/853) would compare and which one might handle the 1/4 and 1/2 oz. jig the best? or like iabass8 reply do i just buy two rods.
I use a NRX 853 for those weights, although a 1/2 oz is in the upper end of it's range I've never had a issue with it.. I also like the 803 around docks.
