Ordered a Dobyns Champion 735c a little while ago. Should be here sometime this week. Can't wait! It'll be another pitchin' and flippin' combo, I'll also throw bigger jigs and plastics on it. Now...what reel should go on it? ;D ;D ;D
Revo Premier, of course.
Daiwa Zillion 7.1:1, of course
A 2010 revo stx...has a dual brake setup. Great reel.
I really like the Zillion I fished a couple weeks ago, or another Curado. Heck, maybe a Premier.
If you can find a Zillion or a 2010 Premeir at a reasonable price I would say sure. Otherwise another Curado is in order...
There's NIB 2010 Lefty STX in the flea market for $145. I snagged one of them.
Quantum Smoke. Daiwa Zillion, Revo Premier or Quantum Tour Edition are all good choices.
I have a REVO STX HS on mine and love the combo.
Well it's either Daiwa, Shimano, or Abu. I'll never own a Quantum.
Maybe I can find a Zill for ~$150 used.

Ok I would go with the Daiwa as my second choice as well.
Curado e7
I have a TD-Z 103HL on my 735c. It's a pitching monster!
OK, well, I haven't even fished it yet, but a boy can dream, right?
Hope you enjoy it man! I know how your feeling right now! I just ordered a 765c and should be here on monday and I cant wait to try it out. Cant go wrong with a curado
just got to start using my new 735c. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I paired it with a 200E7 and can't put it down when I'm on the water. Been flipping Zoom ultra vibe speed craws and have been whacking them. Dobyns rods are the best.
Can you stretch another $25? I bought 2 reels from Viktor last year. Reels were used, but looked like new. He takes excellent care of his gear. I'd have already bought it myself, but I sent out funds for 2 reels last week before I saw his ad. Well...actually I probably wouldn't have bought it because I needed to buy a reel for the custom rod I had build as a Christmas gift for my daughter. (And she isn't getting a reel costing that much from me!) ;D
If it weren't for that, I would have gotten this reel for myself instead of the one I did. I love the Zillion 50th Anniversary I bought from Viktor. The Alphas ito I bought from him has the best feeling retrieve I've ever felt on a reel.

I bought one around that price very recently. It wasn't mint but not beat up either. Can't wait for it to show up monday
As for the Dobyns, you'll love it.
Darn. I got all excited for you.
It thought it was the Champion boat.
Nice selection on your part if I may say so.
Now rig it up and go catch something at the ponds!!!!!

Exactly what I thought when I read the post!
Core 100 mgfv with the flipping switch. Best reel hands down for f&p.
Great choice on the rod. It's very versatile and is extremely well balanced for such a powerful rod.
I use one with a Revo STX-HS for frogging and one with a lefty Curado 201E7 for pitching/heavy jig fishing. I'm right handed, but I like a lefty reel for bottom contact baits and pitching/flipping. That's what I would recommend, a $150 201E7 from eBay. If you realize you don't like the lefty reels, you can always sell it on here for a $25-35 loss.
Congrats. I just ordered the DX795 myself. I'm excited to get my hands on it this week. Already have a Core to go on it, too.

That might look ugly though, a Curado on a Champion. How does it look?
Yes, that actually matters to me ;D

Yeah that won't be a pretty combo. Now if it was a Champion Extreme, they'd go together very nicely.
I don't think a Curado looks too bad on a Champion.
I have a 2009 Premier on my Champion (703C) and it looks as good as it feels.
I got the Premier for 130 bucks off ebay.
Zillion Coastal would look SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick on a champion.

It doesn't look good, but that's no big deal to me. It feels great in the hand, and with pitching and bottom contact baits, that's more important than ever.
A silver reel would look better. The STX looks excellent. The new Curado doesn't look good on an Extreme either, worse than on the Champ, IMO. I have a dark silver D Series Curado on a 734, and that's probably the nicest looking combo I have.
I'd recommend that you buy something you know is quality, and learn to live with the looks. You'll get used to it. You already have a Curado, and having the same reel on a few combos is more comfortable, at least for me. It's nice not to have a bunch of different reels when it comes time to clean them, too. And at $150, the Curado is the best value there is.
I see you Hayden. I will have to give it a shot when we go fishing next.

Yes sir. Have you gotten the swimbait setup yet?
Should be here tommorow!!!! You will be throwing it very soon my friend remember no need to ask to use it, just catch a fish on it!
zillion .... done
get a good deal on it i need a new rod for the ito i picked up
