What new rod and/or reel did you get for Christmas?? 2025

I got a Shimano Compre 6'6" MH rod and a BPS Extreme baitcasting reel to go on it, and some Berkley Transitions fluorocarbon line for it. Casts smooth as glass out in the back yard, 60 anf 70 foot casts with just a flip of the wrist, and I KNOW I can hit 130 feet if I put my arm into it from the experimenting I did last fall using the same model reel.

Gonna get another Compre rod in a day or so with some cash I got for another gift. Probably another rod identical to the first one, to go with the other Extreme reel I got here as well.

What did you guys get??

i didn't get but - i gave my buddy a 6'8" Cumara MF with a stradic 2500fh. we're going out today at 2 so he can try it out!!

My Christmas present to myself was a Cabelas XML ,M 6'6" rig n jig rod and a Shimano Sahara FD but the reel will be going on a Cabelas XML 7' ML rod

My Christmas present to myself was an Abu Garcia, CB5600 round. Its going to go on a Fenwick GoldenWing 7'0" MH I picked up 3 or 4 months ago for $50.

With the money I got a Johnny Morris Signature Series Limited Gold baitcast reel for 100 (on sale, most the time it's 170), and a 7' Berkly lightning rod for 20. Just got out of the yard from casting, ssssmmmoooottthhh!! Man oh man the change from a 3 barring to 10 barring is unbelievable!! It cast a mile even a light 1/4 oz weight (most the time I was casting a spro frog). I hope I get to go fish today!!

Quantum Tour Edition PT 1171 and a good supply of Cabela's Gift Cards. Technically, the Fenwick HMG MH spinning rod is for my birthday in about 4 weeks I'm at least 3 months away from getting from using them

I scored some cash on christmas day, and splurged on another Anniversary edition Zillion at Bass Pro. I was looking real hard at the Skeet Revo. It was one of the smoothest reels I've ever handled. The Zillion seems to have slightly tighter tolerances and feels very smooth and refined, but the Skeet Revo has that extra butter feel like the calais (The one on display at BPS did anyway).

I also found some deals at Academy:

Boogie Baits in Lavendar shad for $2.88 Bought three

That is it for 'fishing' stuff.

6'9" MH Zillion rod for my anniversary ed. zillion reel, courtesy of my awesome wife. I needed a new spinning reel so a Pflueger President 6735 from my grandma for all of my lighter work, like shaky heads, floating worms, etc...2 weeks to go!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Sounds like we were all pretty good Santas for ourselves and picked up the Cabelas XML 7'0" ML $ 49 on clearance and normally $139 to match along with the Shimano Sahara I mentioned earlier.

The BPS gift card will have to wait til later to be used

Now if winter would end earlier...lol

I got a G-Loomis MBR-844c GL3 of which I hope to add one of them reels like you have there. I am thinking this may be my new frog setup since I have a couple IMX rods for jigs and worms already.

You're the second guy to post an Avid / Supreme combo. What's up with that was it some soet of special somewhere.

I bought a Supreme earlier in the year and like it a lot. let me know what you think of your's when you get a chance to try it out

well i bought a bunch of lures at cabelas with my christmas money. I then went to gander mountain in town.... found the pflueger president for 75, kistler helium lta for 112, kistler california series for 75, and a quantum pt for like 60. Needless to say im fairly broke now... im glad people need their cars worked on after christmas, so i make more money
