Do any of you guys have experience with this reel? Tackle advisors was raving about it in a video he posted the other day.
Not yet. I can't find a 4000.
No worries. I bought a c3000 and 4000 CI4+ Stradic, a Thunnis 4000 and a FK 2500..
All fine reels.
I had gotten a new Nasci 3000 a few weeks back. Kicked around the idea of the Stradic. I have an old Daiwa Tournament SS on a Loomis Rod that has seen better days. Might replace it with that. Winter time find and project.
Good I’d luck with. You’re ready for the fall bite.
Not yet, but I want one...
You know what would be sick, a 2019 pearl white CI4+

Thanks for always commenting on my posts, lol.
I was actually going to make a purchase for the CI4+2500 model. Would it make more sense to get the FL since it’s newer and same range?

A new Ci4+ is coming out next year I think.
i played around with the new FL and it was very very smooth. i think the long stroke spool will make it cast even better. Although I find the stradic FK to be a great caster when using 8 or 10 pound Sufix Siege mono. I have a 3000 FK
I picked up a Stradic FL 2500 yesterday to use this weekend smallmouth fishing up in Northern Minnesota. I'm very excited!
My entire spinning reel arsenal is due for a replacement - This may be it.
Thanks for both costing me & saving me $$$ at the same time . .

If you wait until next spring, the CI4+ carbon body version of the Stradic FL will likely be out on the market.

After watching that reel break down on TA, the 3000FL is looking like the right deal for me & my fishing... hope I can find a multi-reel discount.

FK was more solid than ci4 IMO.
Somewhat unrelated, but do you guys think there will be a new Met next year?

What have you been using?

I have an assortment of various Quantum & Shimano spinners - some a few years old - a few several years.
I'm looking to have just ONE reel, maybe a couple of three different sizes but all just model.
May even offer a few of them here over the winter at what could best be described as a 'deep discount'

I switched all my spinning reels over to either Tatula LT's or Ballistic LT's last year and they have been fantastic. If I was going for the 'one reel' approach, my current pick would be the regular black Tatula LT.
I'm easily distracted by the shiny new things though, so I picked up a stratic FL 'just for kicks'.

Sterling silver tatula?

Yes - it was a limited edition run they offered briefly and I was able to snag a couple before they were gone.
Really sweet reel too.
I'd stock up on these if they were available - I think they were the same price as the standard version.

I have a C3000XG on a Silver Rodgeeks MH tube rod and got a 2500SHG for the wife's DS rod. I've used the 3000 and I like it. The 2500 is still in the box.
C3000XG
Wrapped it in navy blue to match the spool accents.

How does it compare to the older FK?

Never played around with a FK.

I have one of the original CI4 2500s and this is way smoother. The FL is more solid while the CI4 feels toy-ish.

I completely agree with you regards to the ci4 feeling. I feel the same way about the aldebaren as well.

Really? I was gonna order one for a BFS rod I'm planning.
And it's not the light weight of the CI4 that gives me that feeling either. My new Vanquish is an ounce lighter and its solid feeling. I know I'm not comparing apples to apples though.

JDM reel. Next model down from a Stella.

Looked it up, seems like an awesome reel.
Anyone have a chance to compare these fl's with the Ci4+? Was planning to get another Ci4+ but these seem to have really good reviews. Any thoughts?

ci4 is being redone this year, I believe.
Yeh I read that. Anyone compare the new fl to the current Ci4+? I need a reel now and don’t really want to wait on a possible reel coming. I’ve heard the new one could be this year or next thanks!

I got an FL for christmas, and have played with the Ci4+ in store numerous times. Take this with a grain of salt if you wish, since I have never fished with either, but I think the FL is much smoother. If you need to keep your hands warm for winter fishing the Ci4+ may be a better bet.
Smoothness differs from reel to reel. I'm sure it depends on the tolerances and how the parts fit together.
That been said- I have two Stradic CI4+ and two FL's. All are 1000 size. Both CI4+ reels are 5.1 gear ratios yet one is more smooth than the other. With the two FL models, one is 5.1 and one is 6:1 gears. The 5.1 is smoother than the 6:1. Not that the 6:1 isn't smooth but on the 5:1, I can't even feel the gears turning.
I feel both models of reels have their place. I prefer the CI4+ reels for when I need more sensitivity like drop shot or some other bottom contact technique. The lighter weight adds to the sensitivity.
The FL, I prefer for moving baits. I bought the 5:1 FL just for shad rap #5's. It's one of my favorite winter lures.
If there is a new CI4+ coming out next year, I just hope it's not red.

I did the same with zero regrets. 2-Tatula LT 2000 , and 2 Tatula LT 3000 in the shallow spool version.
Killer reels.
