As the title says. Been kicking around the idea of a new reel for my new rod. Will be used mostly for moving baits like smaller paddletails on spin heads and swim jigs. Like to keep it under $150 but I have glanced at a shimano Curado K a few times. Been eyeing up the shimano castitas or the diawa fuego ct. Thanks.
The Curado k can be had from ebay for under $150 especially when they have active coupons. I love my fuego ct's they are very reliable and i got them for under $60 a piece.
I'd go with the Fuego CT. IMO it's the best reel for the price you pay. I picked one up for $47 with an EBay code.
Dang! All these EBay codes. Must have missed them....lol.

Just be patient, a new one pops up every couple of weeks. Highly probably a good one will show up for Labor Day.
Curado

^This was going to be my response, except mine was $52 with the eBay code.
Look at the Pflueger Supreme XT casting reels. I got one at a great price for my youngest son, and was quite surprised by it. They're as light as the Curado 70, hold the like of the Curado K and I honestly like the brakes a little bit better than the Curado K.

What's patience?? I'm afraid I don't know what that is and I'm afraid I don't have any of that....lol. For that price I can try though.

Not a fan of Pflueger. I hear they are great reels but they aren't aesthetically pleasing to me.

Pflueger does sell some good reels, but it doesn't matter how good they are if you don't like them. Always buy what you like. What reels grab your attention?

To be honest I'm really digging the Fuego.

My 3 fuegos do everything from cranking to punching to pitching 1/4 ounce jigs and they haven't had a hiccup yet.
I got the Fuego, specifically for casting spinnerbaits into the wind. Works great! I also have a Curado 200i PG (5.5 retrieve ratio) which I use for grunt work. Unless casting distance is super important to you, go with the Fuego. If casting distance is super important to you, go with the Casitas. I'd reserve a Curado for heavier work, but that's just me. jj

Some of them aren't, but I thought the Supreme XT was decent looking. How about a Tatula CT maybe?
I have two Shimano reels that I love and would recommend to anyone and everyone, but there are many ways to skin a cat....fish????(boom dropping the dad jokes) I also own a reel by “those who must not be named” that I also love. I know some people that are fans of the Johnny Morris stuff from bass pro if that’s your thing.

The Tatula CT looks alright. Doesn't grab me as much. Also heard that the t-wing is a take it or leave it thing. Not really worth the extra $20.
Lews tourny pro g. I got mine today off ebay for $120. Check sale thread for details. Just as good as my Tatula SV and better performance than my Shimano 200hg(not a fan).

Not really a huge Lew's fan. I'll give them a look though. Thanks.

I couldn't possibly disagree with that more. The T-wing system actually works great and does keep the reel from spooling to one side much better than my reels without it do. My understanding is that a lot of people who don't have the extra money to spend and never used it blindingly bash it because they don't understand it.

Got ya. Completely understand. I was just going off of a handful of comparisons between the Fuego Ct and the Tatula Ct. Some people just like the regular line guide I guess.

The Fuego CT is a price point that helps when you're on a budget. I haven't actually used them but I hear they're still very good.
I haven't used this version of the Fuego, but have the original Tatula and Tatula Type R. My understanding is there is very little difference between the Fuego CT and Tatula CT. I have reels from quite a few brands, but admit that overall Daiwa is my favorite, so I guess you could figure out which one I'd recommend.
I just got a Fuego CT, for my dad and me. I got the 8.1 ratio reel, it’s my first Daiwa and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s going on my 7’1” mh mojo, still tossing around whether I want 30lb or 65lb power pro on it. I have a ton of Shimanos, and got the 7.1 Casitas last fall. I love that reel too, but I’m going to dedicate it lighter baits, as it casts a mile with a weightless senko. You can’t go wrong with either from what I can tell, but I can only recommend the Casitas as I haven’t used the Daiwa yet. I’d lock one of each down on your rod and pick the one that feels best.
Just got a 15% off email from eBay.....lol.

Nice ????????
Still haven't bought a reel yet. Pulled the trigger in a Tatula CT for another rod and it looks and feels good. Might just buy another one for this rod or I might end up getting a Tatula SV. Been eyeing them up lately.
Right hand or Left hand reel? Sierra Trading Post has the left hand Okuma Helios Air for $109. This reel listed for $269.99 before being discontinued.

I'm a righty. Bummer.

Do like I did when a RH Megabass Alphas ito Ai in RH came up for sale at a good price. Learn to use either hand. You won't regret it. You can almost double the amount of money you can spend on reels.
