Is there a bait casting reel that doesn’t cost $200 that will cast 1/8 oz baits. I did have one but it got away from me ( my girl desided it was hers).
Lews Tournament MB is a good one for that weight. $140 on TW, I'm sure it can be had cheaper if you look around.
Tatula sv tws. Can be had for under 150 on the auction site.

I've got 2 or 3 and I got 1 for as low as $119. They are great even at retail though

That’s a steal. You should share your researching techniques if you don’t mind.
The 7.3 were $119 last night. Haven't checked tonight though. Unusually high from alpha2omegam plus there is a 20% off coupon code floating around for presidents day. Which would make it like $107 because it only works on the 134 dollar ones
Thanks I’ll check on them.
I love this site. You ask a question and within a day you get good feed back from people who know what’s what. Thanks to you all.
Curado 70 is good.

Daiwa Fuego with a Ray's Studio Long Cast spool.

An even cheaper option would be a Kastking Spartacus and a shallow spool from a Sea Kinght Elf

You can even go down to UL baits with spools for the Black Max and Shimano Bass One.

I hear the Fuego CT with thr Rays spool is a finesse casting machine.
I have a KastKing Spartacus Plus with the Sea Knight Elf spool in it that will cast an 1/8oz hair jig with ease.
I cast light baits all day with my Quantum Smoke reels
I’ve come across an Abu Garcia blackmax 1500. How would it work until I can get a pixy ? Has anyone used one?

Never handled a 1500. I have the Black Max 1600C. I was able cast a small fluke with (I think) a 3/0 hook directly into a pretty strong wind. Don't know its weight. I was impressed, tho. I felt it handled the weight better than any other reels I had at that time.

BTW, if you don't want it I would consider buying it myself if it is in decent shape.
I use a Shimano 100b w/upgraded bearing and a light Japanese spool to cast 1/16 Ned Rigs. Recently got my hands on a Chronarch 50MG I'm gonna try next. You'll have a harder time pairng it with a rod that works, than finding a reel that works.
Would this spool:

No, that spool is for the CT reels. This spool will fit the older Tatulas.

Blue matches the reels better.

I do but I don’t catch anything. I can’t figure out why. I think I just suck at fishing.

I think if you start coloring your lures with nail polish, you will finally start catching!

Hmmm maybe you’re onto something... what about if i tie a washer onto my crankbaits for extra dull flash and clanking sound?

I've got to agree with this. I know some guys on here could do it with a MH rod, but I'm not one of them. Highly doubt I will ever be that good with a baitcast reel. I need a rod that loads properly. Love my 100B but never considered using it for light baits. Won't either considering I already have a few Pixies, Alphas and Curado 51E reels. Still it is nice to know the 100B is capable of that. From everything I have read I think you will love that 50MG.

I like where your head is at! We should def found our own lure company. Our lures might not catch ****, but def. would hot like a mothatrucker!

I've been painting bass popper heads for fly fishing with nail polish for years...
Considering moving to UV cured nail polish this season, but haven't got off the starting line on getting it done yet.
This is a good reminder!
A little "Old School": Ryobi VMAG-3 (properly lubricated) light action rod and 8-10# mono will cast 1/8th oz with ease. Dropping to 6-8# mono allows this set up to handle 1/16 oz reliably. These reels can be purchased on ebay under $30.
