After reading throughout this site and the bps forums it would seem that berkley big game gets alot of good reviews.
What would you consider to be the best mono on the market???
I am a life long Stren original in low vis green user. It has NEVER let me down in any situation.
Oh Lord, another "Best Mono" thread.
QuoteOh Lord, another "Best Mono" thread.
I tried searching for the answer to my best choice for mono. Didnnt find it. If you can find it post em.
I dont feel there is a best, to be honest! Everyone has tried a few brands and found what they "prefere". An thats what the feel comfortable with.
I think if there really was a best most everyone would be using it, but there isnt.
Any types of trilenes are decent line i think. But im now really getting into Yo-zuri, its a great all around line. If im not using trilene or yo-zuri im using braided line.
alot of people talk about the yo zuri hybrid. that is a mono/fluo mix right. kind of the best of both worlds?

Exactly, very managable line, and works fantastic for spinning and baitcasting.
does it sink like fluo or float like mono... and abraision resistence???
Sufix is my vote!
Yo Zuri #6 Ultra Soft. Use a little Line & Lure conditioner in conjunction and you've got a great line
I like to use 6lb trilene Maxx, though I haven't tried out the Yz ultra soft yet...they don't seem to sell it around richmond =/
While I do not subscribe to any thing being the best Big Game out sells all other brands in both fresh and salt water.

X2! Sufix Siege to be specific for me!
I use many different lines and like them all. I use big game, red cajun, yo zuri hybrid, berkley flourcarbon, and spiderwire braid.
Tried lots of brands, but when it comes to nylon always return to the old three tried and true:
Trilene XL
Trilene Big Game
Trilene XT

Same, same, same
I made the switch from trilene to suffix elite and havnt looked back!
I've used Trilene XL for over twenty years. I've tried other lines, but always go back to my trusty XL. Whether it's the best or not, I don't know, it's always performed well for me.
Falcon
New to fishing, I have not many difference line but I did purchased and use yo zuri hybrid 12lbs line with my baitcaster. I was very disappointed with the line. The mono line that came with my son $15 stick was better. yo zuri hybrid have the same memory problem as the cheap mono line.
I just pick-up 30lbs power-pro braided line. Hoping that $$ and practice will solved my bird nest problem on a light lure( anything less than a worm.)
me likes:
hybrid - yo zuri ultra soft w/ kvd l&l cond.
mono - trilene xl
I like Suffix Siege on my spinning reels. Much more manageable than Elite. I used Elite once then respooled and gave it away, it was that bad. Suffix Siege in 6-10lb test is excellent line at a good price. Their green color is really good as well.
I'm currently testing out Gamma copoly, but other than that, all my reels have Siege.
I prefer Yo-Zuri Hybrid for both spinning and bait casting.
Later,
if im throwing mono it is usually 90% Triline Big Game other 10% is P Line CXX.
my hands down favorite is IZORLINE XXX.. very castable, very tough, and very affordable

x2
i just want a line that i spool on and dont worry about.

Trilene Big Game.
suffix elite, trilene xt, trilene xl, and big game
I like trilene XL a lot.
For years, I used Trilene XL. Worked great. Then I tried Sufix Elite and it was a little better. I now use CXX for all my "mono" type applications for bass. For winter steelheading, I use Sufix Siege, in Neon Tangerine, and once treated with KVD, 8# line worked very well fishing float rigs and bottom bouncing. Many, many 10 lb.+ were landed on this line, including a 22 lb. brown in the fall.
My top 2:
Sufix Elite
Sunline Super Natural
