Has anyone got there Bass Pro Spring Classic Flyer in the mail yet? It may be a bit early but just thought I would ask. I can't wait to see all the great deals on rods and reels. I need a new rod for sure! And I could be talked into a new reel. ;D
Actually, I was at the BPS store this past Saturday. The nice cashier told me that, the spring sale flyer should be out a week before.
No info on it on their website either.
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&appID=206
check www.basspro.com/classic for info.
I wish they would hurry up and send out the flyers. the web site really doesn't have much information yet.

Lucky Crafts RC's under $10 every year.

Not sure! Call your store or Springfield Mo. the catalog center! 1-800 bass pro
Quoteis this sale in store only?
they said that the sale prices will only show in stores, but if you call in to order online, they will match the store prices.
on that note, how big of a sale is it? I don't have any BPS stores near me so I never took advantage of this sale, although I definitely will this year. In the past, how cheap would you be able to get, say, a shimano citica reel?

Well they are going to build a BPS just north of Milwaukee! This one will be about 15 mi. from the house and the Chicago store about 45 mi. ! I hope you get one soon! :'(
ahhhhhhh do u know any site that will put up scans of the flyer? haha
Quoteahhhhhhh do u know any site that will put up scans of the flyer? haha
Basspro does it on their website usually.

Agreed. I had heard there were plans for one right outside MOA, but that fell through. Latest news is a possibility in the north metro. It would be nice to have the Rogers Cabela's and a BP within 15 minutes of each other.

I'm real surprised there isn't one near mall of america. I kind of like the fact that they aren't so many around, at least from what i've heard. Its like a full day outing whenever I got to BPS. God bless BPS.
I believe that BPS is a major part of the Mall of America expansion that has been on again-off again for the past few years. I think I may have heard a rumor that it may be back on. I hope so, I can't wait. Cabela's is only an hour west from me, but it would be nice to have that other option an hour north from me.
Did anyone else get there flyers yet? The bait monkey keeps after me, so I had to slap him and tell him the flyer is not here yet! ;D

Not yet.
Got mine today! PQs are going to be on sale along with the Carbonlite reels. I might have to pick up a carbonlite with it only being 90. Also RCs are going to be 12 and pointers will be 20% off. Square As will only be 2.24! BPS 360 and 370 boxes are 5 for 10. XPS flouro will be buy 2 get one free, which I need 2 spools of flouro anyways so that works out good.
That's about all I was interested in, but there was a lot more.
Not one in my mailbox.
how much are the carbonlite rods?
Quotehow much are the carbonlite rods?
Doesn't say, I'm guessing since they were on sale when they first came out they won't have them on sale for the classic.
RC's only $12 - darnitt I wanted cheaper.
I just wish the Stacy King jerkbaits had been typical LC quality - I bought a bunch a couple years ago only to find out I had to reweight them to get them to suspend like a Pointer...

I was hoping the PQ and Carbonlite (CL) reels would be on sale; so I'm set - gonna get one of each 8-)
Quotehow much are the carbonlite rods?
The CarbonLite reel is in the ad for $90, but the rods aren't in at all. The CL rods are in the current ad though.
just a heads up-you can get the Spring Classic prices now if you just call in. I just ordered a whole bunch of stuff at the Classic sale prices.
Also, the Carbonlite rods are on sale for $69.95.
Also, my wallet is now $69.95 dollars lighter

Is there any way to see this flyer on line? I've been trying to find it on their website to no avail. Are the Extreme and Pro Qualifier reels marked down also?

Maybe the $69.95 is a online deal only, and not a in store sale?

actually, its the exact opposite. It is NOT on sale online, but it is in my local store. All you do is call them and say it is on sale in the store, and they will honor the price match. Also, this week is $1 shipping so its the best time to buy it. My local store is the one in Chicago, by the way.
when does the spring classic begin?

Yeah both those reels are. I think 20 off each? So 80 for PQs and I want to say 70 for Extremes? Something like that.
Theres been several stores and online vendors doing 20 percent off on alot of stuff lately so hopefully BPS will have some better discounts. Too bad they dont carry alot of the cool japanese tackle. I wonder if they will have the new stradic ci4 on sale ? And what about the steez sha's. Would love to get a high speed steez for 20 percent off. Altho by the time I pay sales tax it might be a better idea to wait for TW to have 20 percent off since I wouldnt have to pay sales tax or shipping .

I can guarantee the Stradic CI4 won't be on sale, but I'm going to trade in a reel and at least then I'll get I think 40 off. So that's pretty solid. Plus it's probably going to be a while before tackelwarehouse has another 20% off.
The CarbonLite rods are on sale now, but it doesn't look like they will be during the Classic sale which starts 2/26.
The Extreme baitcast reel is in the ad for $59.94, and the PQ spinning reel is in there for $49.94.
No Shimano reels will be on sale, and you can't use the reel trade-in on Shimano because they won't allow it.
They do have a Japanese reel in the ad. The Daiwa Bradia for $149.99 looks to be the JDM version of the Certate. I found it on Japan Tackle... was $340 now $290 on their site.

How much are the PQ reels going to be? Thanks
I just called Bass Pro and was told the carbon light rods were not on sale?
here guys, i took photos of the fishing pages:

You called a store? Choose a store from their website & look at the current sales flyer. Here's St Louis... they're in there.

Thanks for posting those pics up snoopy. 25 percent off on zoom is real good. I'll have to stock up on brush hogs. That Daiwa Bradia is a real good deal too, I might have to get a few of those too.
thanks for the post.

There IS a ProQualifier BC reel on sale - but it's not the regular production model, but a limited run, light-weight (7.1 oz vs. standard 8.8 oz). The gear ratio isn't specified but I'd bet it's 6.4 or 7.1. It's probably a very nice reel (duralumin gears) but some of us were hoping the new PQ low-ratio (4.7 & 5.2) reels would be on sale...
Thanks for the pics. With the 3 for $10 deal on stick-o's and the 25% off Zoom it looks like I will be restocking the shelves of Jeff-Mart!
The guy I just spoke with says he is pretty sure the carbonlite rods with not be on sale for the classic. Mainly because they are on sale now.
I am not going to take any chances so I'm going to get mine this weekend.
BPS is only 10 minutes from me... that is a good thing and a bad thing.
My flyer came, my wife just showed to me! So I got to go,me and the monkey will be looking at it. Be back later!
thanks again for posting the flyer pictures:D
25% off zoom products SOUNDS good but, keep in mind that BPS prices are kinda high to begin with. here's a comparison i just did showing BPS prices compared to ***'s prices:
so, in some cases (e.g., baby brush hog, finesse worm), TW's everyday price is still lower than BPS's sale price with the 25% off. in other cases, the difference is slight. just be careful before going hog wild

Yeah, doing a special run of an upgraded reel for a lower price is total BS!

Other than discounted Shimano, what would've interested you?
Discounted Shimano wouldn't have interested me either. I can't really say. Its not my job to decide on BPS marketing strategies. I just flipped through, and nothing interested me.

Yep - gimme some of that BS. If I didn't already have 4 of the regular PQs, I'd be all over that limited edition. Well, actually, I'd probably spend the extra $10 and get a bunch of Carbonlites
Other than the new PQ, the discounted Carbonlite BC reel, and an inflatable PFD, I didn't see anything else in the flyer that really floated my boat. Now, hopefully I can phone in an order and get the store price as listed in the flyer.
I didnt realize how much more bps charges for plastics then TW. Now I realize what a good deal zoom plastics are with TW's 20 percent off sales. I agree with J tho, nothing really interests me other then the bradia reel. But lookin at the specs and reading bout it, I think I'll pass, that reel is way too heavy and slow for me. I rather spend a lil more and get a stradic ci4. I'm still goin to bps tho and see if I can find anything interesting on sale. I doubt everything is listed in the flyer. If only they sold yo zuri ultra soft line or some cool japanese tackle it would be more worthwhile.
Hey guys new to the forum! I have been pacing for days waiting on the flier to post online. Thankfully you guys have cabin fever as bad as me and posted it! But I think I have to agree that the flier is off the mark this year. Look at cabelas latest flier from the hazelwood, mo store. They have Rapala DT14 and 16's onsale for 2.99! Online they have a Shimano Citica combo onsale for 129.99. Plus it seems like every other day that cabelas runs some sort of discount like free shipping or $30 off a $150 order. Being a marketing major i think that Cabelas is leaving bass pro in the dust.
As for Tackle Warehouse i really cannot say enough good about those guys. I attend Eastern Illinois University and emailed them about a possible sponsorship. They replied that they give every college team discounts on merchandise. They are already close to if not the cheapest place to get most tackle. That and their selection is second to none! Anyway enough rambling!

Goose, If you have an Essex near you in TN keep an eye out in that store for Cabela's inflatable PFD's. You have to catch them in there and if you do you can get SCREAMING deals (like 40 bucks).
Ardent Reels has a national 1st quarter sales promotion going on. If a consumer purchases an F500, F700 or C400 they will get a Professional Parts Cleaner free. There should be point of purchase in the stores and tear pads that they must complete and send in with proof of purchase to Ardent. They will then ship a free Parts Cleaner. Great reels and products made in the USA with a three year warranty. They are trying to staff the BPS Spring Flings where possible for folks who are interested in reel cleaning info or specific Ardent Reels.
Well, I guess I got lucky. I had a 20% off coupon last weekend and was thinking about using it on PQ rainwear. The deal on those for the classic is better than that. Thanks for posting the pics.
QuoteI just got it today. Nothing in it interests me at all. They've lost touch....
I kinda agree, only thing I see is 4.00 off R.C. Lucky Craft, about 5 yrs ago they seemed to have some real deals, person is better off buying from a reputable authorized dealer on line or Ebay for rods n reels. Unless you like B.P.S. rods n reels. I think they are ok for entry level equipment.Tackle Warehouse is a personal favorite.I do enjoy a trip to Cabelas or B.P.S. while traveling. I guess I have graduated from Johnny Morris reels and Extreme rods.Don't get me wrong they are ok but nothing to get excited about.I still use 2 JMX10HB reels after 5 yrs.Last Extreme rod I lost an eye, they wanted more to fix it than it was worth, offered $10 in store trade value.Called reel repair in Springfield twice to get part for Midas spinning reel, never received. Good luck finding parts or actual reel manufacturer for parts. Just my little ole worthless opinion and past experience.
Not impressed with the sale at all. I might get a spooling station since I'm getting tired of stripping all that line by hand every year, but that's about it. The "quality" of the sale is making my TW order even larger.
EIU... I definitely agree with you regarding Cabelas. They do put A LOT of online stuff on sale every week.
