Coming soon apparently! Mike posted this picture on his FB page.
I like my veritas so hoping these much up in quality as well.
didn't they already have Ike combos for kids?
Let's hope they sell better than his daiwa rods lol
I bet they will probably be technique specific, at least thats what im hoping for.
Think they will be less prone to break when smacked against the gunwales
They will let out an "Ike Scream" upon lifting in a fish. Finding the off switch is another story. Lol
will he have a signature reel too that floats when he throws it into the water? On 10/30/2013 at 5:43 AM, tomustang said:Think they will be less prone to break when smacked against the gunwales
Well the mgx is only 5.4 oz so maybe he won't have to!

Dude, I havent laughed that hard all week lol
It's a shame they are EVA but I am excited to get my hands on one if they are as nice or nicer than the Veritas.
I hope they have decent reel seats.
Get excited to have to pay the premium for having a name on a rod. If its anything like Abu's other rods, performance will be decent, but components will be extra BLEHK for me, especially the looks. Yuk purple and gold it looks like

Not a fan of the veritas? I have one and love it.
i agree with clay....we may be paying for the paint job...ill look into them regardless.

I'll have to agree......really like the Veritas rod.

It was a decent performing rod, especially for the price point. I did like how they put SiC guides on, but I HATE those types of "open full blank" reel seats with a passion, along with EVA foam, just dont like the components. I feel like Abu is trying to hard in the looks department, along with many other brands, trying to be "JDM"
Ill stick with my reserved styling Powells, that perform twice as well for only 40 more bones.

I agree, Powell is where it's at. I do own a couple Veritas rods though and have to say they are pretty good rods at roughly $100 price point.
Powell's and St Croixs. All I need.On 1/21/2015 at 4:49 AM, Get_The_Net! said:I agree, Powell is where it's at. I do own a couple Veritas rods though and have to say they are pretty good rods at roughly $100 price point.
hopfully they will be better than that!On 10/30/2013 at 1:19 AM, CTGalloway21 said:didn't they already have Ike combos for kids?
I don't think they look bad, the green/purple flip finish looks better than that godawful white. I just don't care for the actions of Abu rods, so I will probably pass.
Anyone know the price point yet?

Ike says $120.
Yep he said $120 and he also said they should be out everywhere in mid Feb, around the time of the Bassmaster Classic
Is that mid Feb 2016?
Ditto. They have St Croixs at the $100 price point that are better than the Abu's IMO. I came into a free Veritas and didn't like it so I sold it for $50.. Im sure whoever got it enjoyed the deal.. Whatever, $50 in my pocket. On 1/21/2015 at 5:44 AM, ChrisWi said:Powell's and St Croixs. All I need.
Has anyone here bought an Ike rod?
Do they offer purple reels for the purple rods?
I'm bigbill aka bass pimp colors matter lmao
We need some humor here.

I want the one that's tattoo'd with a naked lady!
I want kung fu dragons inside both fore arms. Mirror image.
Holy cow, this thread came back from the dead twice! My daughter loves Ike and I thought about getting her one for her birthday when they came out, but I can't imagine it's any better than the Veritas she likes to use (because Ike was using it on tv).

I'll be out on the water this week with the 74-6. I'll post a review.

Sweet. Please don't convince me... I struggle saying no to my daughter when she wants anything to do with fishing!

Com'on, Step up Dad!
IKES!
I'm a little late ... The 74-6 rod is all it should be. I bought a 70-5 today. I guess you could say I'm sold on them.
I want to see a Delay series.. A 7MHM would suite me fine.
I got one of the delay series for throwing square Bill's paired with a revo sx g3and it bombs 1.5 and 2.5s!! Love it!
6-8 weeks and I'm out on the lake casting for bass. 3 IKEs on the boat! Sweet rods.

Which action did you get? medium or medium heavy? Trying to decide which action and looking for feedback from those who've used them already. Thx.
They had the whole line of Ike's rods at Bass Pro Shop (OH) last week for the Rod-N-Reel trade-in special! Honestly, I was pretty impress with his rods! I didn't buy any but I will say they are definitely lighter than the Veritas line of rods IMO... I did buy a 7' M/F "Villain" for $79
Took my new 7'2 MH Power series Ike out yesterday and tried it on a local pond that just got the ice off. Didn't catch anything, but I will say I was very impressed with it. I'd like to put in a few more hours with it, then I'll make another review on it for you all.

mine is 6'6" mh and i love it for smaller crank baits and poppers and walking baits.
Just bought one yesterday to try out 120 price range, I'll give it a shot.. 7'2 mh feels good and it's light...
I have the ike 7'2" for my spinning rod set up. It recently splintered out at the tip. I absolutely love this rods action. I'm really hoping they warranty it! I'll let you all know what happens.
