How sturdy is this? does it bend or break easily? other nets i've had break when scooping pond muck. i want something stronger.

Answer: Good and sturdy. Should stand up to standard pond muck.

Will this work for catching frogs in the garage?

Answer: Yes. Gave it to my 3 year old grandson who loves catching frogs, lizards and any kind insects. And they have mostly concrete d/t in ground swimming pool.

Answer: It’s a fantastic product. I purchased three nets for my grandchildren and they all telescope just fine. Maybe the individual isn’t turning the handle correctly. Highly recommend this net.

Answer: Initially had same issue. Sprayed handle liberally w/WD40, put the net frame (carefully) in my shop vice and twisted with both hands. Eventually it loosened and I discovered some kind of shredded green plastic... maybe a sleeve to keep the two handle tubes tight? Not great construction.

Where is it made?

Answer: I don’t know where it was made, but the materials and workmanship are good. I use it to catch pullets to put up in the coop at night. It holds up well for that purpose.

How do you make the handle longer?

Answer: It is a telescopic handle, so you can screw it to adjust the length as you like.Thanks.

Would the holes be too big to catch minnows? My children like play with minnows by the river.

Answer: Yes. of course, Our mesh hole is about 0.006 sq.in, so it's small enough to catch minnows.

Does the net float in the water?

Answer: This net will not stay a float for long. It sinks very slowly.

Are you able to buy a replacement handle? The plastic part on our net broke and the shaft won’t stay together anymore.

Answer: Not sure where to buy replacement handle. If you can’t locate one, you could drill a small hole and insert a screw and bolt to keep it aligned.

Can one replace the net if it tears?

Answer: I am not sure, but I do not think so. I did not see anything in the listing about replacement netting. If you are a sewer, you could repair a tear, should one occur. Or maybe you could make a replacement net. When we received ours for our granddaughter, we were pleased with the quality of the net.

Answer: Big bugs would get caught in it but the material is slightly rubbery so I don’t know if they’d stay in it. The holes are about 1/8” in diameter.

We LOVE these nets. We wanted to be able to travel with the nets when we go to FL. They come apart and were easily packed in my children’s suitcases. In addition, the net part has been very sturdy for fishing and frog catching. These are the best nets we have ever purchased for our kids.

Was a gift for my 2 year old grandson. He likes to catch frogs in the backyard, and lives close to the beach where he can use to catch things in the ocean. It’s light enough for him to use and durable enough that it shouldn’t break at his first swipe at a frog on the ground.

This fishing net is amazing! It is so easy to use and can extend to be longer if you need it to. It is so light weight and when you extend it and twist to lock it in place it does not move around or rattles like any other net. We are building a pond and we are so excited to use this for our new fishes. You can also take it fishing with you as it is deep enough for bigger fishes. There is also a grip that is smooth and won't slip out of your hand. Great gift idea for the little fisherman in your life, adult fisherman, or even a pond owner like us! This was a nice sturdy net, but it was intended for a young boy catching and releasing minnows and the holes were not small enough. It is a great product just not what I was looking for.

I got this net for my daughter at the beach. It was to be used with sand crabs, ghost crabs, blue crabs and small fish/ minos.

It was the best net. All the other kids and even adults wanted to use her net since it was so much sturdier. 3/5 nets broke that week, but this was one that did not break! And it was certainly used the most.

The only slight problem was that the net is very deep. The crabs were hard to get back out of the net to release (only catching them for fun, then we release them). But depending on what your are using this for that might be better!

Even when the kids would scoop up a ton alof sand while trying to get a crab that sits in the sand where the waves wash up, it still didn’t bend or brake. She will still be able to use it next year. The cheaper ones are only good one summer!

We used the net to catch crabs, fish, and shells at the beach. The size of the net and the ability of the handle to be shortened or lengthened proved to be very helpful to catch beach creatures. I bought this fishing net for my 5 year old grandson. We have a large pond where we live and it is stocked with fish. First we bought him a minnow trap which was fun but as soon as he saw the net, we knew we hit the gold. He lays on his belly on the dock with his net in his hand and waits and waits for a fish to come by. He has actually caught a couple 9 inch wide mouth bass. Of course we are catch and release but this net got the fish to the deck so he could touch it and put it back in the water. We have been having a grand time with this net and it is most durable. So I'm reviewing these after about 2 years...these nets have suffered HARD at the hands of my daughter. We are out fishing (aka frog hunting, minnow catching, leach trapping, etc) 4-7 days a week as long as it isn't too cold. These nets have caught hundreds of minnows, a crap load of frogs, a few turtles and even helped (I cannot stress 'help' enough here, A for effort) land a 40" Northern, who in turn ripped the first net about 6 months in. The second one has held up until last weekend at the cabin and she caught a log.

I cannot stress enough how hard we were on these. Pretty sure the one was left out over winter in 3ft of snow. They're constantly thrown in the back of the truck, left in the lake overnight, caught in trees and have landed numerous bass because I always seem to forget my net.

So yeah, if you have kiddos that love the outdoors and play hard, I do recommend these. I'll be ordering a second set.

This fishing net is actually stronger than it looks. It is fun and bright and the awesome thing is that you can make it long or short. You can probably use it for more than just fishing and it will hold up to the test. My son put one of his toys that is pretty long and on the heavy side and he was able to carry it. The durability and size of the net and handle are its greatest features. The telescoping handle is kinda hard to elongate but the more times we shortened then lengthened it the easier it got to move the handle. Overall he loves it and it looking forward to fishing and more.

Horrible. As soon as my son opened it the handle had a dent in it and right then after the trip tore. There’s a gap between where the bar ends and foam handle continues. The other two I purchased don’t seem to have the same issue but now we have one brother with a broken net before our scheduled trip. Would not recommend.
