Questions about EGO Fishing Net, Kayaking & Wading Design, Floating Net, Salt & Freshwater, Non-Slip Grip, Kayak Tool, Aluminum Clip on Tether, Warranty
Q:
Are the threads the same as a standard broom handle?
Answer: The handle threaded tip is a standard ACME thread with 4 threads per inch. The typical broom handle has 5 threads per inch.
Answer: Not sure what real question is about. But nothing on this net is even close to a standard broom handle. The netting is heavy and rubberized so a hook can not get caught in it. The handle is sturdy. Even the strap on the handle, used to hook to kayak or a belt, is strong.
Q:
can you attach different handle to this net?
Q:
Does this net head unscrew from handle?
Answer: It does not unscrew. There are two Phillips screw holding the handle onto the net hoop. That said, I've had this net for going on two years and it is a quality, well built net, hefty, though not too heavy. I've never had a treble hook get stuck in the netting.
Answer: No it does not. It is a fairly short handle.....suited more for trout fishing, or smalled steelhead.
Answer: No that feature is not applicable to the wade series nets.
Q:
Will throw net thread into the ego 48”pole?
Q:
What material is the hoop made of?
Q:
Will the handle fit into a rod tube holder?
Answer: Yes the handle will fit into a rod holder.
Answer: Yes, it fits in a standard rod holder.
Answer: The padded handle measures about 1.5" diameter.
Answer: The end if the handle is 1 1/4 inches in diameter
Q:
Are these nets made in usa or china?
Answer: The EGO Landing nets use components produced mostly in the USA and a few from Taiwan and from China. They are 100% assembled in the US.
Q:
Are these nets compatable with the s2 slider handles?
Q:
What net is compatible to interchange with the slider handle?
Answer: The EGO S1 Genesis Nets are compatible to interchange with the S2 Slider handles.
Q:
Does this net fit on the ego s2 reach pole.
Q:
is the net detachable from the handle
Q:
does the slider handle come with this net?
Answer: No, this is a short fixed handle, great net though.
Answer: It looks like a slider, but it is the float that is on the handle.
Answer: No, the handle is fixed.
Answer: No.
Q:
What is the weight?
Answer: MFR site calls it 1.2 lbs.
Q:
I dont see the threads on the end of the handle. how does this connect to the telescoping ego pole?
Answer: Yes they have a metal thread that screws the net into the hoop.
Answer: I don't believe this particular handle can be extended. Most of the Ego's can be extended.
Answer: It doesn't have threads in the handle.
Product reviews of EGO Fishing Net, Kayaking & Wading Design, Floating Net, Salt & Freshwater, Non-Slip Grip, Kayak Tool, Aluminum Clip on Tether, Warranty
Max L. : Decent nets with some modifications
Bought the 17”x19” rubber net with long handle first. This is a miss IMO; depth of the rubber basket is only 6” or so, which is too shallow for a net of this size. Lost my first coho this year because he flopped right out of it. The rubber material is also too thick and heavy, makes the net hard to balance and use with one hand while landing a big fish solo. I like the design and shape of the hoop though, and once you break off the useless red handle part it is incredibly light for its size. I have bought a 14”x16” nylon mesh net for my kayak and wade fishing as this is a more appropriate size for most of the fishing I do. The deeper mesh basket should keep 4lb-8lb salmon in the net better despite the smaller circumference hoop, I just keep the mesh tucked to the handle with a rubber band when not in use to prevent snags.
The nice thing about EGO nets compared to no-name internet brands is the availability of parts, which are interchangeable between nets. Because I have 2 EGO nets now, I can swap heads between handles to suit my needs.
Shane Smith : Great for wading!
I’m an avid steelhead and trout fishermen and tried multiple nets to carry while wading. Nothing has compared to the EGO for it’s sturdiness. The rubber netting is great for catch and released fish with no harm and I’ve landed a bunch of 8 + lb brown trout and steelhead with this net.
n3v45 : Over all great product. Used a handful of times not on ...
Over all great product. Used a handful of times not on my kayak. Weak point I neing the net where it attaches to metal tube. Just would seem smarter to make that section of netting tougher then anything and it's not. Time will tell but for right now it works just fine.
Cranky : Not Good At All
It's not worth half this price. The red part of the handle is huge, and I don't have delicate hands, and it throws the whole net out of balance - which you don't want in a net of any size. It prevents you from making a simple, clean scoop. The net is rather cheap and it narrows down to a pronounced point, nothing like the net shown in the picture.
I was looking for a net about this size to use when fishing from the canoe. This looked good, but is disappointing in person - a problem when ordering a product sight unseen. It is so bad for the price I paid that I'll probably send it back. Heck, it's so bad that if someone gave it to me, I'd re-gift it as soon as possible.
Not recommended.
amanda : Good net, rubber would be nice option
Good light net, wish the rubber version was available on amazon at the time
Dustin Grabowski : Top of the Line kayak net
Best kayak net I’ve owned. Just boated 20 smallies, never got a hook stuck, even folded a 33” pike into the 19x21. Great product
jdemw : might be good for a kayak or a boat
net was too bulky to carry on wade trips. might be good for a kayak or a boat.
Michael Welch : No more tangled hooks in net!
No more getting hooks caught in net!!! Plus it floats in case it’s not connected.
MaximumMustache : Great net
Affordable net that is safe for the fish. It is a nice size for a kayak.
wolfewiz : Great net for the price
Great net for the price. I got the biggest one. Works great from the kayak....land pretty good size musky and any bass you could ever catch.
Amazon Customer : Good net but beware; modifications needed
I took this net out on a trip after receiving it a couple of days ago. The net itself performed well. The only problem is that I no longer have it as the bungee cord that attaches it to my belt failed and the net was lost in the surf. If you purchase this net (and I think I will have to do this again), the first thing you should do is remove the bungee that is included and replace it with a length of paracord. I plan on drilling a hole in the handle and running the cord through the hole. The net was a good value at $32. Now that I am effectively paying $65 for it, not so much.
Travis W. : Great Net
This is a very sturdy, fairly light net, with a great barbless bag in it
It works great on my kayak, and I’m sure it would work just fine for River wading-

MaximumMustache : Great net
Affordable net that is safe for the fish. It is a nice size for a kayak.
KMF : Fits in rod holder
Love it fits perfectly in my hobie crate. Was going to buy direct from manufacturer but they wanted to charge way too much for shipping
KPatriotH : haven't used it much but fear it will rip easily.
Net rubber material seems too thin, haven't used it much but fear it will rip easily.
Jim L. : Five Stars
works great
Amazon Customer : Best net there is, but *CAUTION* the straps fail
This is a great net and I use it wade fishing, but all the straps fail at some point. It is a design flaw by Ego. In 1 case my friend lost the net entirely. I have bought several now for myself and friends.

Mark Hammond : Great size for wade fishing
Great size for wade fishing. Lays perfectly flat on the water and the grips are not slippery when wet. Great product!

MPH : Nice quality net, could be even better.
This net is the right size for wadeing the Texas gulf coast. Basket is not real deep, so for a large fish it might be an issue..Otherwise, good quality. The part that could be improved is the float. It seems like an afterthought. It's a hard plastic bulb right on the handle up to the hoop. Works ok, but I could see this being cracked and leaking eventually. It also just looks sorta out of place. Same net with a foam float around the handle or hoop would make more sense to me.
