Are the threads the same as a standard broom handle?

Answer: The handle threaded tip is a standard ACME thread with 4 threads per inch. The typical broom handle has 5 threads per inch.

Answer: Not sure what real question is about. But nothing on this net is even close to a standard broom handle. The netting is heavy and rubberized so a hook can not get caught in it. The handle is sturdy. Even the strap on the handle, used to hook to kayak or a belt, is strong.

can you attach different handle to this net?

Answer: It does not unscrew. There are two Phillips screw holding the handle onto the net hoop. That said, I've had this net for going on two years and it is a quality, well built net, hefty, though not too heavy. I've never had a treble hook get stuck in the netting.

Answer: No it does not. It is a fairly short handle.....suited more for trout fishing, or smalled steelhead.

Answer: Yes they have a metal thread that screws the net into the hoop.

Answer: I don't believe this particular handle can be extended. Most of the Ego's can be extended.

This is a great net and I use it wade fishing, but all the straps fail at some point. It is a design flaw by Ego. In 1 case my friend lost the net entirely. I have bought several now for myself and friends.

Love this net super light weight. I shortened the handle about 4 inches cause it was hitting my boots. Super net for the money. Only improvement i would be willing pay more for is a heavier net material. Otherwise this is an awesome steelhead/salmon net

Amazon Customer : Good net but beware; modifications needed

I took this net out on a trip after receiving it a couple of days ago. The net itself performed well. The only problem is that I no longer have it as the bungee cord that attaches it to my belt failed and the net was lost in the surf. If you purchase this net (and I think I will have to do this again), the first thing you should do is remove the bungee that is included and replace it with a length of paracord. I plan on drilling a hole in the handle and running the cord through the hole. The net was a good value at $32. Now that I am effectively paying $65 for it, not so much.

After using a few times, this fell out of my kayak and sunk in the ocean. Be careful to connect to a strap, as it doesn't float!!!

Cranky : Not Good At All

It's not worth half this price. The red part of the handle is huge, and I don't have delicate hands, and it throws the whole net out of balance - which you don't want in a net of any size. It prevents you from making a simple, clean scoop. The net is rather cheap and it narrows down to a pronounced point, nothing like the net shown in the picture.

I was looking for a net about this size to use when fishing from the canoe. This looked good, but is disappointing in person - a problem when ordering a product sight unseen. It is so bad for the price I paid that I'll probably send it back. Heck, it's so bad that if someone gave it to me, I'd re-gift it as soon as possible.

Only used it once so far didn't get to take any pictures forgot my phone that day was out on the River where I live Delaware River in Philadelphia Pennsylvania Smallmouth fishing also anything else that would bite walleye Pike ex. Awesome net big enough really like how it comes with a cord attached that stretches and can attach to the kayak

Good net for Steelhead fishing up in Erie Pa. Nice feel to it when landing fish. Bungee cord and spring clip are useless though. I put a eye screw in the base of the handle put two swivel eye trigger snaps on better quality bungee cord and connected to the rear top of my vest , more accessible and yet out of the way and don't have to worry about the bungee coming apart or off the handle.

Over all great product. Used a handful of times not on my kayak. Weak point I neing the net where it attaches to metal tube. Just would seem smarter to make that section of netting tougher then anything and it's not. Time will tell but for right now it works just fine.
