Answer: Heavy duty line that I can tell you from experience is extremely hard to tear up.

Does the 7ft net open up to the full 14ft diameter?

Answer: Depends on how well you can throw it. Practice somewhere with a clean bottom or plenty of depth, without limbs.

Witch one is best mono or tire line?

Answer: If you are after Flathead or large Blue catfish, I'd pick 80 lb. mono. Set your drag to about 50% though. If you are just after regular channel catfish, no larger than 4-5 pounds, 20 lb. or even 12 lb. works.

I bought this to catch bait in creeks and shallow fresh water. The net does not sink fast enough in a foot of water to catch anything I can watch fish swim under the net! Also when you pull the net to close the bait in it just bunches up at the bottom leaving the entire center open for fish to escape. Do yourself a favor and never purchase a net from this company!

The Steel weights are to light an to far spaced, throws like trash sinks to slow tried to add lead wire, didn't work out well. do yourself a favor an get a good one like super spreaders.

I bought a 7 foot net. I measured it. On the ground stretched out, it measured 14 feet folded in half (see photos). That means the circumference of the net is 28 feet. To find the radius knowing the circumference, use the formula C=2πr. That means r=C/2π. So radius = 28/(2*3.14). So the radius of my net is actually 4.5 feet. I'm returning it and buying a higher quality net.

Perfect length of rope, and weight to cast far and accurately. The net does not tangle when stored, like other nets I have used. Even came with a repair kit. It WAS my favorite cast net... and then it rusted up on me. Now It won't close to catch anything!
