- Composed of two-section of aluminum alloy pole and a triangle tuck net, the fishing landing net can be extended or retracted to your desired length (Max. overall length: 100cm/39.37''). Rotate the rotary clutch counterclockwise, and you can extend the pole to a specific length. Clockwise rotate the clutch to lock the length.

It seems to be a good net for the price, I tested it with 8 1/2 lbs so far so good seems to be the max when held horizontally, or that I felt comfortable with anyway, but pulling straight up no problem. All in all I'd purchase it again.

A guy working hard : This is the best among the budget dip net
I needed to buy for three family members so I made a thorough amazon research (price and quality judging from the pictures) and eventually bought this one and another brand. After our first use, I can say this one is the winner. It has rubber coating on the net, making it much durable and the handle is much more sturdy. The only complain is that the length of the handle when extended is not much. Well, I can live with that. So if you are OK with the handle length, I think this is the best one you can get at Amazon at this moment.

My last net broke when the plastic folding joint cracked open. I bought this because I saw the folding joint is entirely metal.
The folding joint is indeed entirely metal, but it seems it comes at a significant cost. The two main metal rods on either side of the net are extremely easy to bend. I got this net for dragging through roadside ditches for crayfish, and it is not strong enough for that purpose. The metal bends immediately when it hits any vegetation or sediment. Within about two drags through the water, the net was significantly bent backwards.
Fortunately, I was able to jump into the ditches, holding the metal rods with each hand, and drag the net through the water, where it worked well. I would not recommend this for any "heavy duty" dipnet work.
3 stars because it delivered fast and served me in my time of need in a crayfish ditch. However, I would not recommend this with many other options available. This net will only hold its shape in very light duty situations, where the net only goes through water and doesn't hit objects.
