Q:
I'm looking for a Ego replacement deep pocket net?
Answer: If you call Ego/Adventure Products (800-698-6841), they will sell you a replacement mesh bag. They charged me about $13 plus shipping for the rubberized nylon mesh bag.
Answer: Sorry, we do not carry the replacement net.
Answer: This one is great
Answer: Try American Legacy
Q:
What size would you recommend for bass out of a yak
Answer:
Answer:
Q:
Does this come with the handle? My order did not come with the extension handle.
Answer: Yes, the landing net should come with a handle. We recommend returning the unit and requesting a replacement from Amazon.
Answer: It should have come with the handle. Now be aware that you can just order the net portion of the NET. But yes check your order it should had come compleste. FYI its a great landing net.
Answer: This did come with the extension handle, it has been a great net. We use it in Lake Michigan
Answer: This net does come with the handle, we do have just the handle available.
Answer: its telescoping...you push the button and it telescopes out. No separate handle to attach
Answer: Yes of course it should
Answer: Yes mine came with a handle.
Answer: yes it should have
Answer: Yes it should. Mine came with one
Q:
Is this a standard thread like paint roller?
Answer: No, the net does not come off the pole
Answer: Your question is appearing on a item that is a fish landing net.
Answer: No
Q:
How large are the holes in the net?
Answer: The holes in the net are about one inch.
Answer: About two inches.
Q:
Is the large net available in clear rubber?
Q:
Which material is good to not get hooks stuck easy?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: this is a very good net and hooks don't get stuck on it
Answer: I would highly reccomend the rubber net. I have both in different sizes. The rubber net allows you to easily remove any treble hook with no damage to net or hook.
Answer: We found this rubber net works really well.
Q:
our issue is our walleye baits get stuck in our current net. Which netting is best for walleye that the baits won't get stuck?
Answer: I use the rubber mesh, The net is just all rubber its not coated.I have yet to get a hook stuck in the net. I bet it's netted over 500 bass. Make sure to get the deeper one.
Answer: The clear rubber mesh or the deep rubber mesh.
Q:
Is this not heavy duty enough for salmon
Answer: it is surprisingly heavy duty and I do use it for salmon. I fished a five gallon bucket out of the ocean with it. @ 8.6 pounds per gallon thats 43/bs and it actually did it horizontally (should have been lifted vertically). So i was impressed.
Answer: Never caught a salmon, but I think it would be strong enough to land a salmon. I have caught northern pike and it works well for those.
Answer: Probably not, the hoop and yoke may not be able to handle consistent 15 - 20 lb. fish.
Answer: It will handle anything a fishermen throws at it, that said, consider the larger diameter mouth (and deeper rubber net basket). Without a doubt, the design is plenty durable.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will this fit other nets and or other attachments.Brush ect
Answer: Yes, the S2 Slider handle is compatible with all EGO Net heads and handle accessory attachments.
Q:
Why do you charge more money for the exact same net with the smaller hoop?
Q:
Does it come with all three extension handles
Answer: It comes whichever one you select! That’s why there are different models to order; doh!
Answer: Only one handle that slides. Best net I’ve ever used. Love it.
Answer: Comes as shown with a single telescoping handle.
Q:
Is this the newer "2X Enhanced Handle"?
Answer: Yes
Q:
What is the longest handle you make?
Answer: My handle itself when extended is 64 inches. If you add the net fully extended, end to end is 87 inches .
Answer: As far as I know, this is the longest handle made by Ego. It does extend quite as ways out and with a body reach you can scoop a fish maybe 5-6 feet back of boat. It's a good net and I'm happy with mine.
Answer: This is an extendable net that has a great sliding action that extends the handle to an ample length. Its the best net I have ever come across and is light enough for ease of handling. I would have to measure mine, but extends to around 5-6 foot long. Anyone that purchases one of these would be satisfied. A great rubber net as well that hooks don't tangle in.
Answer: I'm not sure just search EGO S2 and you can find there company online.
Q:
Is this net appropriate for fish to 50" in terms of strength and mouth size?
Answer: I have used mine for 42 inch pike and 20 lb salmon with room to spare. Its built very well. I would recommend this net to anyone. The extending handle is awesome and with the rubber net your lures don't get snagged.
Answer: It seems a little small for that IMO. Biggest fish I've used it for were up to 39" with room to spare. Very well build and super strong. I would give it a try - and maybe bring a gaff along as backup?
Answer: Yeah, I think it is enough size and strength, because I have caught 1.07m 21kg ITO Hucho Perryi by it.
Answer: No
Q:
For the medium net, are there setting in between 29 and 60" or is it only 29 or 60?
Answer: The setting is between. You can start at 29” and extend to 60”
Answer: The handle turns to and locks anywhere from 29 - 60 inches. Best net I’ve ever used
Answer: net is in the stored boat. But I pretty sure I remember have at least 2 other in between positions
Answer: Yes there are setting
Answer: completely adjustable, locks whoever you want it with a twist of the grip.
Answer: My son wanted this for his bass boat, he considered this so be the best for us, he was right it does good. Very nice
Q:
Hoop size? 24×what?
Answer: 24" x 27"
Answer: 24 inches wide X the Depth
Q:
I need a 20 foot handle. I fish spillways and the current keeps me from using those pier nets
Answer: This net does not extend to that long, about 6 foot extended
Q:
Is the 19" pvc coated mesh net #72053
Answer: Its a rubber net, tough and very servicable
Q:
Would this net be too large for a kayak?
Answer: Its a pretty big net, mine rides in a 21 foot bass boat, im not sure about a kayak. I will say it is the best net ive ever owned and have not seen a better one. It would be great for a kayak because it does float.
Answer: These are high quality nets with a brilliant sliding system and eco-friendly rubber net inert. If I had a nice size Kayak I would take mine with me. Or alternately hand it upright in the Kayak. (recommended)
Answer: I believe it would be too large for a kayak. Smallest one you can get away with for the type of fishing you do would be better.
Answer: In my opinion, yes to large for a kayak
Answer: IMO, yes. It’s heavy for one handed use.
Q:
Is the 60 inch handle the handle length or handle plus net length
Answer: Handle plus Net Length!
Answer: Handle length.
Answer: Collapsed oal is 52”. Extended is 84”. The hoop is 17” front to back.
Answer: Yes
Q:
What is the advantage of pvc coated over clear rubber mesh?
Answer: The ability to remove barbed hooks. Removing hooks from mesh nets pvc coated or not can be challenging at times. In a tournament seconds count. Also the faster you can remove the hook from the net,, the faster the fish can be returned to the water if you choose to do so
Answer: not so sure there is a advantage. Eco says it doesn't spook the fish as much but I dont buy that now. If I had it to do over I would of gotten the coated instead of the clear. less weight.
Answer: First off it is better for the fish caused less stress on them.
Answer: You will love the way the handle extends. After a little practice you can do it 1 handed while still holding your rod fighting the fish. Did have a problem with the net coming loose on the threaded end. Added a fair amount of thread tape and it seems to be better. never was afraid of the net falling off. just irritating. Wife say I am to damn picky. good luck and have a good weekend.
Answer: Easier to remove the hooks when netting fish and lures.
Q:
Is it big enough for sturgeon fishing?
Answer: No, since sturgeon can be 7-10 feet long and are one of the most endangered species of fish. Not a good idea.
Answer: Not even close to big enough!!! This net is OK for Salmon and definitely too small for sturgeon.
Answer: Depends how big the sturgeon is. I’ve landed a 31 inch lake trout with it.
Answer: Depending on size but I would say no. It is well made and good for catching northern and walleyes
Answer: Interesting question, grasshopper! It would only be useful ONE time!! Hope this is helpful info!
Q:
Do you sell the Replacement handle for the S1 & S2 nets?
Answer: I have seen the handles for sale in local tackle shops.
Answer: I went on the nets wed site and got one with no problem just use the name google
Q:

Q:
I have an ego S2 with a medium sized net I need an xlarge net that attaches to my slider.
Answer: Buy another
Q:
Is the 60 inch handle the handle length or handle plus net length
Answer: Handle plus Net Length!
Answer: Handle length.
Answer: Collapsed oal is 52”. Extended is 84”. The hoop is 17” front to back.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is the netting replaceable?
Answer: They sell replacement net heads so yes, though mine has been amazingly durable (even landing sharks). Love this net!
Answer: Yes, you can replace it with something else.
Q:
Can i get replacement net without handle?
Answer: Yes. There is also other attachments like a lure retriever and a push stick. You can put any other style of net as well. You will buy the handle and the net separate or as a package.
Answer: Yes net attachment is available individually
Answer: Yes you can
Q:
Will this net fit in the rocket launcher rod holders for storage?
Answer: Yes it does the only thing I do not recommend extending all the way if you're fishing 8+ pound fish just feels like it wants to break
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
what is the weight of the handle, average weight of a rubber net?
Answer: Not sure exactly, but light enough to handle with one hand when empty.
Q:
Is this made in the usa?
Answer: The nets are assembled in the USA. Various parts are manufactured tired nationally and internationally as stated be the company
Q:
Is the net made out over rubber?
Answer: YES the version of this net that received was made of rubber. Not really stretchy but some stretch with weight inside.
Answer: Yes the mesh netting is rubber
Answer: Indeed it is. You will not regret buying one. I’ve yet to have a hook get stuck in the net.
Answer: mine is rubber. but i beleive they make both rubber and coated string.
Answer: Read the review's they will answer this question.
Q:
Will this net fit in the rocket launcher rod holders for storage?
Answer: Yes it does the only thing I do not recommend extending all the way if you're fishing 8+ pound fish just feels like it wants to break
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does it float?
Answer: Yes it floats, bought it for my husband who fishes on Lake Michigan. He loves this net.
Answer: Unknown. However, the soft rubber on mine has torn off and I doubt, as a result, if it would float. I recommend you contact the seller for info on flotation.
Answer: No
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is the net good for carp fishing for those 20lb ones and larger
Answer: The net worked very well for smaller fish but large grouper (20 lb range) could flip out of it since they are in the 26-30" range. It is the length of the fish that limits the net to ones less than 22".
Answer: It’s a good net. Landed a +20 pound lake trout with it so I would be comfortable with a 20 pound carp.
Answer: I really enjoy using this net! Used exclusively for Salmon on the Oregon coast. I have used this net to land many fish in the 20# class and it has done a very good job. For big fish be sure and raise the handle straight up before you lift the fish out of the water, otherwise too much weight .
Answer: I think it would. It is a well constructed landing net.
Answer: O ya its a big mouth net. I bet 36 inch pike with it all the time and they ha e chewed through it. Plus your hooked dont get tangled up in it. I fish bass tournaments twice a week and its still like new. The extend action is great. Cant really say enything bad about it. Great product.
Answer: This is about the biggest net that I have ever seen. The mesh is substantial and should work really well for your intended purposes.
Q:
Is it 19" wide x 22" long?
Answer: I believe so
Q:
Ego replacement net without handlie
Answer: yes
Q:
Does the net handle fit inside a standard rod holder?
Answer: Yes it fits in a rod holder and that is a very good way to let it dry after using it.
Product reviews of EGO S2 Slider Fishing Net, Ultimate Fishermen’s Tool, Telescoping Handle, Replaceable Head, Salt & Freshwater, 2 Year Warranty, 29-60" Handle
Amazon Customer : wonderful
Great product!
Amazon Customer : Great net!
This net telescopes in both directions. It is very smooth and sturdy. Love it!
JAIME A. : Last net you will ever need
Very good quality net...and slidding system makes landing fish a breeze..the last and only net you will ever need..the thing ive experience is if dropped near the surf..the fine shell particle will stay inside between the slidding parts. And will scratch up the parts when sliding. Solution flush it real good before use over all excellent net
Jeff Hamelau : Cant go wrong for the money
I could have gone to walmart and spent $20 on a net. But i took a chance and spent $90 on this net. After the first day in the boat i gave my other net to my son for his boat. I was afraid becuase it looks bulky that i might not like it. No problems with weight or the diameter of the handle. After playing around with it for a while you will figure out that you can actually extend it with only one arm. Thats a big thing for me. I dont always wont 60 plus inches of net laying around the boat. The fact that i can take it apart makes it easily fit into my deck compartment.
AYoung : Excellent quality and functionality
Excellent net. Great quality. A little heavy.
Angela Ernst : Awesome!!
Love this net.
Getintheshade : Great landing net for boat or shore fishing
Great landing net for boat or shore fishing! Floats if you lose it over the side. Being extendable makes it especially functional when fishing from a high bank or boat, plenty of reach. The pvc netting sheds hooks and doesn’t cut into fish. I bank fish on rocky shorelines and this net permits fish retrieval from water without ever touching the ground, to hook removal. This is especially beneficial regardless whether you’re keeping or releasing the fish. Durable and well made. If I were to lose it, I’d buy again without hesitation!
Harry Link : The handle broke after 5 uses
After using this net to land fish, maybe 5 times at the most, the extendable handle broke. It will not extend anymore.
brandon skiver : Great Net
Awesome floating net that is perfect for the bass fishing enthusiast. You will not regret your purchase on this net!

Nice net. Hookless!
Michael Excell : Net is built well, Basket is SHALLOW
I bought this thinking the basket would be deeper but it is extremely shallow. I’m not thrilled with this net. I ordered the rubber netting. I had one before and the basket was much deeper..
scadu : Works great
The double expansion handle is unique and works great. The rubber netting does not get tangled in fishing gear. Perfect size for 19ft fishing boat.

Kyle : Great Net
Super net. Maybe slightly heavy, but it works well. Can get a little pinch if your hand isn't positioned properly, but after a few times you learn not to do that. Doesn't take nearly the time to get the lure out of the net as my old style. Would buy another.
Stephenie : Worth the money and more!!!!
Bought this for my husband and they just got back from a week long fishing trip. He was so happy with it the best bet he has ever used It netted 35’’ 20 pound fresh sheepshead (drum) with no problem in. Took no time at all to get the fish out.
Tested to failure : Cant handle saltwater
Pro:
Works great on the boat. Net slides right out and latches as designed.
2 year warranty
You can buy a very similar handle at Lowes in the painting isle. (Edit: the thread is different and will not work)
Con:
The foam on the handle will rip or tear. It is not glued down the entire length of the handle.
After a year of use in saltwater the net still slides, but the latch will not lock it in place anymore. I guess all the parts are not saltwater friendly. The small springs and rivets are rusting and now stuck open.
I will update this review as I venture through their warranty process. So far I find it unusual to close at 4pm EST, but will try calling again tomorrow.
Update:
12/13/13: Had a few minutes and tried calling again. Fridays they close at Noon. Must be nice. It's difficult to find time during the work day to track down a company for a fishing net. Sometimes you have to ask if it's worth all the time and energy. Dropping to 1 start for not being available to support warranty issues during reasonable times. At this price point they should be open atleast until 6pm EST to allow people an opportunity to contact them.
Update:
12/13/13: Sent an email to customer support. I explained the problem and requested an improved handle that wouldnt corrode.
Update:
12/18/13: Received a new handle. This is the 2x stronger handle. I'll make sure to get some salt on it this weekend. Time will only tell if this handle is more salt tollerant. I'm adjusting to 4 stars. While their hours are not very user friendly, they did acknowledge my e-mail request and shipped a replacement handle faster than I expected.
Update:
06/24/2016: The locking mechanism failed again and is still not corrosion resistant. The part you can see (little brass dot) gives the impression that the internals are corrosion resistant, but that's just to fool you. Look at the pin, it will rust first, then the spring inside, then the whole thing will stop working.
I also have a good bit of corrosion on the black sliding portion near each hole. It makes sliding very difficult even with treatments (WD40, Lithium grease, Marine waterproof grease, Fluid Film, etc...)
So I thought maybe instead of the EGO floating ($40+) handle I would just use the home improvement store Shur-Line painters handle ($20). They look exactly the same. Same pattern, same grip, same mechanism, doesn't float and is lighter duty..
Bring it home only to find out the EGO thread pattern is thicker by just enough to prevent the other (standard) thread from working.
Ordered another handle. The last one lasted 3.5 years instead of 1 year. I am also fishing more brackish waters which just means a slower death.
Even with these failures, this remains the best net I have found.
mark m. : Love it!
Been fishing from a boat for over 27 years. This is the best net ive ever used. I fish mainly for walleye, bass and panfish but it's been great for big northern and catfish.

Really like this net no more tangled hooks and extends fast to retrieve fish
AYoung : Excellent quality and functionality
Excellent net. Great quality. A little heavy.
Amazon Customer : Large Fishing Net
Very satisfied with my new net. It has met my expectations. Good quality.
Alan Glowacki : Great quality but a bit shallow
Great net but it’s a little shallow, great for bass but have had trout flop out. If I had it to do again I would get the deeper net
Mollie Crooker : Best net ever
Heavy duty for big ones that you don't want to get away.
Todd Schlavensky : Nice Net
Seems to be well built, This particular shaft only extends maybe 6' or so. I wanted the longer shaft which extends almost 10' or so. As for the basket, very nice size, should handle larger fish no problem. The one step motion with the extender pole is awesome, little effort is required. Good Luck and catch as many as you can.
Sean H. : Well made
Works great worth the money
Dave Grammer : Great net
Love this net good for the trout good for the fish either use it short for the rivers are long for the legs from the boat and I love the net
chance : Good
Awesome buy it
Paul Cooper : Last net I'll buy
I have a cheap, string net, but it has a few problems. Firstly I don't think it's kind on the fish, secondly it is a hook magnet.
I finally relented and bought this $$$ net. Wow, so glad I did. It's really solid, and the larger size really makes scooping green bass a piece of cake. Even used it for 20lb dorado off shore.
Telescoping handle can come in handy.
Best part is that it repels hooks. Never get stuck untangling your lure!
jrktrlpsoff : Five Stars
perfect works great
Greg Smith : great net
this net is great, the sliding pole is great for trying to net alone in the boat, the tangle free rubber coating gets rid of the 5 or 10 minutes of trying to get the hooks out of regular nets when the fish thrashes in the net, and the flat bottom makes it even easier , you just set the net down with the fish in it, and its wide open and not tangled. great product.
JW : Five Stars
Good
RD 0822 : Great Net!
My buddies laughed at my "butterfly net" when they saw it but now they love it! Works great and is very solid. I catch walleys primarilly and this net easily handles 5 lbs fish without a problem. I love the telescoping handle which really helps with storage. Its also nice to know that it floats. Great net - you will be pleased.
Amazon Customer : Large Fishing Net
Very satisfied with my new net. It has met my expectations. Good quality.
Brandon Grove : It's a great net... if you take care of it.
I purchased this net back in 2015 as a Father's day gift. It's been a permanent stable of just about every fishing trip (his and mine) ever since. 20 lb catfish in the river... 30 lb Stripers in the bay... 15 pound trout/salmon in NY... This net has survived it all for a solid four years now. I'm now coming back to purchase another for my own boat.
Couple of notes:
1: The net indeed floats... the net with the extension pole does not.
2: Don't expect to extend this fully out with a fat hog, and lift it horizontally out of the water... It's meant to reach out, net the fish, slide the pole back together, and then lift the net vertically out of the water. It will last way longer this way.
3: Throw some teflon tape on the threads connecting the pole to the net. After a while, and multiple net flips, this can loosen up, and you'll lose your net if you aren't paying attention (though, it should float if there's not a fish in it).
HoumaGuy : Updated Review
Purchased this net in 2013. Still going strong! Net has no snags or tears. Pole still extends without issue. If you are going to be landing some larger fish and want a net that lasts, no need to shop any longer. This is your net!
Dustin Mills : EGO S2 Rubber Net Slider DOES NOT float. Too heavy.
First time I used this net I lost it. As I was reviving/releasing my first catch of the day I managed to capture on video my brand new net sinking to the bottom of the lake in the background (unbeknownst to me at the time). I only knew for sure what had transpired after I had a chance to review the footage later that evening.
*EDIT
Contacted EGO. They were very helpful and explained to me that the S2 Rubber nets do not float. They went out of their way to find a solution for me and for that I am very grateful.
I cannot give a company that stand stands behind their products anything less than 5 stars.
By with confidence from EGO. I know I will.
EGO now makes fish grips, weigh bags and more. I'm going to make my new fish grips EGO.
Amazon should update their description for the rubber nets ASAP.
Jonathan Hunter : Poor durability.
I like the design, but durability is horrible. Rivet that holds the handle on broke on the first use, breaking sliding mechanism. Had to epoxy several times to try to salvage the $100 that I spent on it.
abrowning : good net
While I have been looking for a good rubber landing net I came across this jewel. Most of the rubber nets I found were pretty plane. After looking into this net it appeared that it would work well. The handle makes this net worth it. Slides out to almost twice it's size with very little effort. The fact that the net end will unscrew from the handle makes it a lot easier to transport to my favorite fishing hole.

JC : Awesome net.
Absolutely love this net. Slider aspect of the net is ingenious and really easy to use to extend and collapse the net. Can't believe I was hesitant to purchase. It's not heavy. Really sturdy. Appears well made. Definitely recommend.
John Peterson : Great product!
Great product! Works great and has a great design.

gotbass : Finally a well thought out net
Great net material eliminates those nasty hooks stuck in the net. The extension handle will come in handy on a friends high gunnel boat. Don't know about durability yet, but seems well made. Fish on!
