Product reviews of SAN LIKE Collapsible Telescopic Pole Fishing Net - Folding Extend Rubber Coated Freshwater Saltwater Landing Net for Trout Bass Steelhead Salmon Kayak
Tonja Drecker : Just right for my son
My teenage son discovered fishing this last year, enjoys it a lot, and has been slowly collecting all necessary items. Since he didn't have a net yet, this one looked great.
Pros: - big net (description fits perfectly from sizing) - fairly compact to store - easy to flip handle into place -quick drying
Cons: - will handle the fish my son catches, but I can imagine 'big' fish might cause a weight issue
My son loves to go fishing at the local ponds, rivers and lakes. While he doesn't really need, need a net, I've noticed that it would definitely come in handy when bringing a few of them in. Since the fish he catches stay under 2-3 lbs, we didn't need anything super robust, but I didn't want it to break at the slightest strain, either. This net was exactly right. The opening is very large as is the net itself, offering plenty of catch space and room to work with. The net is coated with a type of plastic/rubber, which makes it dry quickly. The seams are well sewn, and hold the weight well.
The handle is short but very adequate. It folds down for storage reason but flips and locks into position easily. The handle can easily hold what my son catches, although I wouldn't use it for large fish, since I could see it bending. There's also a string on the end of the handle, which can be used for hanging the net or tightening it around the wrist so it doesn't fly away. A metal clip on the net also makes it easy to clip onto a pack.
It's a nice net, he enjoys it, and we're satisfied.
My Two Cents : EHHHH
If you're planning on using this with larger fish... keep looking. This doesn't feel sturdy enough for that.
This would be great for smaller fish/bait catching but nothing to help you bring tha big un in
Vova : Foldable but not durable.
Foldable but not durable.
Amazon Customer : Hook free netting
Net is used for bass fishing. The best feature is hooks don't get caught up in the netting
☕ Creative Coffee ☕ : high quality net that is perfect for catch and release fishing
Much easier to maneuver underwater than the thicker heavier rubber net I used last year. Holds up very well. Good construction on the handle and the rubberized netting is very sturdy. Long enough handle without the need for an extending one, but not too big that it gets in the way. Much better than my old nylon mesh net. Never use another string net again. Spend more time fishing and less time getting the hook out of string.
Hope you found this review helpful!
HappyGuy : Good quality folds up small
Great quality fishing net very lightweight but extremely sturdy folds up nicely stores well in your gear bag.
Michael J. Edelman : Seems okay for light duty fishing
I have a really nice traditional hardwood net I was given many years ago by my trout fishing mentor that Ive been using for twenty years, but I was interested in seeing what this net had to offer. It folds, which I suppose means you can pack it easier for traveling, though I think it's designed to be carried folded. Hard to say, as it doesn't come with instructions. The net material is coated with a rubber coating that's supposed too be less stressful to the fish and less damaging to the coating of slime that protects the fish, but I think if you're careful and don't play a fish too long or keep it in the net too long that's may not be a major problem. It's too early in the season to actually test it, but while it does appear to be decently made made, it's not terribly sturdy, and it doesn't lock open. It feels adequate for panfishing or smaller trout, but I wouldn't want to try and land a big bass or a pike in it. I'm not sure how you'd use it fly fishing. There's a wide hook on the net frame that is, I suppose, intended to hang it somehow, but again, there are no instructions for its use. Maybe once I get it out on the water I can figure it out.
Tara : cool net
Perfect gift for the fisherman/woman in your life. Net is lightweight and unlike most fishing nets, that are rather cumbersome and space-taking, the handle on this one retracts, making it more space saving and compact. You can hang it from your belt/pants, remove it easily with one hand, and place it back very easy. It should hold a variety of sizes of fish, from perch to salmon.
Here, There, & Everywhere : Lightweight, Portable, & Great Capacity.
I ordered this fishing net for my teen son. He always wants to go fishing, so I figured he should have a decent fish net. This is a pretty decent net. The net capacity is nice. Great for bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, and more. The net handle is lightweight, but really sturdy. There is also a great hand grip too. This net folds up and easily unfolds when needed. There is a locking mechanism that slides/pulls back. Overall my son seems quite pleased w/this net. It's definitely better than the old kind my father used when I was a kid. Note: There is a strong chemical smell from the net mesh. We put it outside for a few days to air out.
Steven murdock : Best storable net I’ve everhad
Easy to open and close for storage. Strong landing net. Sure beats those round aluminum nets from the bait stores. I have landed many fish from my boat. The largest was a 26 inch large mouth and the net worked flawlessly.
loveguitar : Seems to be Good Quality
This trout/bass net already has 131 reviews so I don't know what I could say about it that would be unique. I think it's pretty well made and seems sturdy. It's easy to unfold and fold back and the grip feels good in my hand. I don't know how long the rubbery netting will last though. Hubs has a fishnet gizmo similar to this one except it's about 40 years old and the nylon net is still good, as well as the aluminum frame. So, my only concern would be if you kept this for years would the net eventually dry rot away? No way of telling that but it seems like a material that would. I guess you could get a replacement net.
Becky Brooks : Great Idea but a Bit Flimsy
I think this is a great design for a folding net. It opens and closes pretty easily. I think this would be perfect for light fish but can not see this working out for a heavy fish.
The netting is good, and it is a nice size. I like that the handle telescopes. It folds up and won't take up too much room. It just feels like it might break if I tried to use it on a bigger fish.
Thanks for reading my review

Osprey : Great net
This is an excellent net. It is well made and strong enough even for a big fish. It folds and unfolds with easy, and locks into place securely so you dont have to worry about if folding in half while in use. As my kids have discovered, it also doubles as a butterfly net.
Dave : Light wait Quality and quick service
Just what i Wanted. Will use Fly Fishing hopefully starting late March or early April for Rainbow Browns Lake trout off the shores of Lake Ontario

daphne : Very nice fishing net for the price.
This is a very good fishing net for boat or bank fishing. It comes with a hook for the belt loop. It is really convenient to simply remove it from the your belt, extend it and it snaps in place. But for flyfishing I’m not sure that I would use it. While it’s convenient to hook on the side of the belt, it’s a bit bulky to have dangling from your side . It seems to be very well-made. The net itself is rubber coated. I really feel like this will be less stressful on the fish. The net measures 13 inches across and 16 inches folded. It measures 25 inches when fully extended. While the product description says it will extend to 25.19 inches, 31.9 inches, 40 inches, it does NOT extend. The product detail is more accurate in its size. I do wish you could have the ability to extend further. Otherwise I would give it five stars. All in all, it is a very well-made, convenient, fish safe fishing net.
Lmckowen : Nice net
Compact and well built

Rpw2 : It's a great net....
I like the net. I wish it extended a bit longer also i do not like the horrendous smell the net itself has. What is that??? And will it ever go away? Other, than that its a great net. I look forward to using it soon. Thank you so much....
Ashley Shaner : Short handle is nice
I keep this net at our marina for grabbing fish that are too heavy for our poles. I don’t use it fly fishing, as I don’t do that. The short handle makes it nice for close up fishing and not scooping from the boat. Large enough to hold large mouth bass, cat fish, and the like. Works for my use.
SuperVine : Brilliant Space Saving Design
I personally think is is a very brilliant design that save tons of space. The net and the handle seems to be sturdy, but I highly doubt it will be as durable as the traditional net without the collapsible feature. It should probably be fine catching something like a 10-15 pound fish. This fishing net has some unpleasant chemical (rubber or plastic or both) smells upon opening the plastic wrap.
Pros: 1. Collapsible Design
Cons: 1. Chemical Smell, Hopefully It will Subside In A Couple Of Days.
Wolfgang Reimann : Great quality for the price.
Components well made and easy to use, folds up easy.
Larry : Good quality product!
The only addition it needs is an elastic cord and clip on the handle You attach it to your vest and it stays out of the way.
Wolfgang Reimann : Great quality for the price.
Components well made and easy to use, folds up easy.
MomtoBoys : Good for catching things along the shoreline.
Good for catching things along the shoreline.
mother of 6 : The perfect fish net
I purchase this fishing net for my son and he loves it.He isn’t avid fisherman and this is the perfect net for him.He had a regular cloth net which his hooks would get caught on and he was frustrated by that.I found this rubber net and he is over the top happy. He and I definitely recommend this purchase

PJ : Seems built ok for the price.
Does not catch fish lol works well.
Liliya Bulgakov : Not for more than 5lb
Unfortunately it broke after using few times .. First it bant than it Broke same spot ..
Booyakasha : I like it!!
This is a pretty nice net. I plan to use it in my kayak and feel confident it will work well and hold up just fine since I am not the greatest fisherman and never catch gigantic fish.
Some are concerned with how it will hold up against larger fish and I completely understand their concerns. The hinge portion is made of plastic but I put 10 lbs in it, bounced it around and it held up fine.
The netting is rubber coated and seems to be very durable. Taking it from the folded position to the ready position is extremely easy and can be done with a flick of the wrist. There is a nice clip on the net that can be used to hang it from a PFD or a belt.
Don’t get me wrong this would be a much nicer net if they made the hinge out of aluminum but for your average fisherman that is fishing for bass and other fish that don’t get over 6 pounds very often will most likely be very happy with this net. If you plan on landing large fish and need a net you may want to look elsewhere.
If I have any issues with this I will update my review but I have a feeling it will serve its purpose for me.
Reneerk : Nice
This is a great net, I really wasn't expecting it to be this good for the price. It has a large net on it and it seems super strong for heavy fish. The holes are small, so it's perfect for tiny fish as well. The pole is short and strong and easy to hold. I ordered this for my kids to scoop fish out of our pond at our cabin from the dock or shore, and they had so much fun doing that! They just sprinkled bread in and had a swarm of fish to catch, look at, and release. The net can fold flat and it has a rope on the end to hang it when they're done with it. We just ordered this for the kids to play with, but it has the quality of expensive fishing gear.
AmandaW : Heavy duty, well made, folds down
We took this camping and fishing and it’s been a great net. It’s large, lightweight but not so much that it feels cheap. Folding handle saves space. Great pick up

K.D. : Always comes in handy at the beach
Whenever we go to the beach with the kids, I always wish I had a fishing net to catch some of the little fishes with the kids. I started to look for fishing nets online and settled with the San Like fishing landing net.
The quality of the net and pole are both pretty good. The net seems pretty sturdy and does not look like it can tear easily. I really like the fact that the pole can be folded for easy storage in the car.
Overall, we are pretty satisfied with the San Like net, it is not heavy at all and the kids can use it without any problem. This gets a solid 5 stars from me and the kids.
Cheesus 2032 : You need this net.
This freaking net hauls ass! I ain't kidding. You'll be the coolest cat on the water hauling pigs out with this bad boy! Belt clip is sweet. Extendo handle is super helpful for off the bank fly rodding and floating in a boat. You will be shocked at the quality as compared to the price point. Buy this net.
My Two Cents : EHHHH
If you're planning on using this with larger fish... keep looking. This doesn't feel sturdy enough for that.
This would be great for smaller fish/bait catching but nothing to help you bring tha big un in
Lisa B. : Love that the net part isn’t mesh
This is the best net I’ve had. It’s not like carrying a long awkward pole. That’s good because I’m clumsy enough. And my favorite thing about it is the net isn’t just mesh that’s easy to tear. It’s coated in rubber stuff. It really gives me a peace of mind knowing it is more sturdy due to this.
Liliya Bulgakov : Not for more than 5lb
Unfortunately it broke after using few times .. First it bant than it Broke same spot ..
Jeff W. Smith : High Quality Product
Great quality and overall function.
Bev : nice
It doesn't matter how big of a fish you catch if you can't land it. This is a really nice net for just that. The net is mostly snag free and it folds up to stay out of the way.
Gerbera_Reads : Good Fly Fishing Landing Net
This Fly Fishing Landing Net is well made, sturdy and lightweight. It has a collapsible handle that has a non slip rubber tip at the end that ensures the net stays in your hands even if they are wet. The net itself is strong and durable. There is also a little side hook for easy out of the way storage. Very dependable net.

M : Smaller in length
Made of a strong mesh for the net. Has a hinge that allows the net to collapse. Only con, is it doesn’t extend. Very small in length.
dave pascarella : Net
Hook got caught it the first day I used it very difficult to get out now that has a hole in it good for small fish for freshwater
Dave : Light wait Quality and quick service
Just what i Wanted. Will use Fly Fishing hopefully starting late March or early April for Rainbow Browns Lake trout off the shores of Lake Ontario
William M. : As advertrised!
Light weight and functional.
Johnny Campbell, DTM, AS : Dependable, Durable and Affordable Fishing Net
No matter whether your fishing from the bank or on a boat every fisherman needs a good fishing net and the San Like foldable fishing net is the one. In my video review I show how durable the net is and how easy it is to use when landing and releasing your fish. It's a great net and worth the investment.
