Product reviews of SAN LIKE Collapsible Telescopic Pole Fishing Net - Folding Extend Rubber Coated Freshwater Saltwater Landing Net for Trout Bass Steelhead Salmon Kayak
ReviewerX : Fits Perfectly into the Kayak!
Is well-made, I like the coated netting - that already makes it better than the other nets I've used, but the thing that makes this really awesome is that it folds and then wedges in perfectly into the storage compartment in my kayak. Very happy!
Karen S. : Great Product
Purchased for my son, loved it, hooks to your belt loop (if desired!) Handy item for fishing!
SuperVine : Brilliant Space Saving Design
I personally think is is a very brilliant design that save tons of space. The net and the handle seems to be sturdy, but I highly doubt it will be as durable as the traditional net without the collapsible feature. It should probably be fine catching something like a 10-15 pound fish. This fishing net has some unpleasant chemical (rubber or plastic or both) smells upon opening the plastic wrap.
Pros: 1. Collapsible Design
Cons: 1. Chemical Smell, Hopefully It will Subside In A Couple Of Days.
Momma Shark : I'm buying more as Christmas gifts!
I love this net! I got it for my husband and I when we fish. It is small and compact. It is easy to fold and unfold for use. It is super sturdy and I love the suze of it. This is my new must have for fishing!
Mary V : Good for catch and release
I like this net. The handle clicks into place and stays put until you release it. (Not the case with a previously tried net). The netting is silicone or soft rubber, which is relatively easy on the fish. This is a boon for those who practice catch and release (and for the fish!). The net size is ample for most freshwater species. The only thing I might change would be to make the handle longer, although there are benefits of a short handle.
Tara : cool net
Perfect gift for the fisherman/woman in your life. Net is lightweight and unlike most fishing nets, that are rather cumbersome and space-taking, the handle on this one retracts, making it more space saving and compact. You can hang it from your belt/pants, remove it easily with one hand, and place it back very easy. It should hold a variety of sizes of fish, from perch to salmon.
Becky Brooks : Great Idea but a Bit Flimsy
I think this is a great design for a folding net. It opens and closes pretty easily. I think this would be perfect for light fish but can not see this working out for a heavy fish.
The netting is good, and it is a nice size. I like that the handle telescopes. It folds up and won't take up too much room. It just feels like it might break if I tried to use it on a bigger fish.
Thanks for reading my review
Becky Brooks
Jenna Eliza : Great quality, great price!
The San Like Fly Fishing Landing Net looks more expensive than it is. The quality is fantastic for it's price point of under $19!! That's a steal alright. The handle is an attractive blue or teal metal with a rubber coated handle, the net is extremely roomy enough to land some large fish. You can catch and release safely & easy with this net because for one there's a lanyard for your wrist to prevent the net from falling in the water and second the net itself is also rubber coated allowing the hooks to not snag as much. While the large quality net is a huge feature, the selling point is the fact that the handle can collapse, offering you much more storage room on your rig. Granted we tend to bring quite a few things when we fish whether on boat, kayak or land so having a convenient good quality net that doesn't take up much space is priceless for a fisher. The net is also lightweight so you can bring this with you on treks to more secluded spots. There's a nice metal belt clip as well for easier portability while carrying.
The only tiny flaw I can find and really it's more of a nitpicking thing than an actual flaw, is the fact that when you collapse the handle it won't lock in place, kind of dangles there. It's not too bothersome but would be nice if it locked in. My husband and I love nature and fishing is a great way to connect with nature. We will most definitely be bringing this net with us camping in the spring. For the price, it's impossible not to recommend this, go out and try it.

Michael J. Edelman : Seems okay for light duty fishing
I have a really nice traditional hardwood net I was given many years ago by my trout fishing mentor that Ive been using for twenty years, but I was interested in seeing what this net had to offer. It folds, which I suppose means you can pack it easier for traveling, though I think it's designed to be carried folded. Hard to say, as it doesn't come with instructions. The net material is coated with a rubber coating that's supposed too be less stressful to the fish and less damaging to the coating of slime that protects the fish, but I think if you're careful and don't play a fish too long or keep it in the net too long that's may not be a major problem. It's too early in the season to actually test it, but while it does appear to be decently made made, it's not terribly sturdy, and it doesn't lock open. It feels adequate for panfishing or smaller trout, but I wouldn't want to try and land a big bass or a pike in it. I'm not sure how you'd use it fly fishing. There's a wide hook on the net frame that is, I suppose, intended to hang it somehow, but again, there are no instructions for its use. Maybe once I get it out on the water I can figure it out.
Amazon Customer : Looks to be excellent quality
Nice and compact but haven't been able to use i yet
Groovin' guy : Strong, Folding, Light Fishing Net
This is a great, lightweight fishing net.
The rubber coating on the netting should keep the fish's natural slime coating intact.
The net is quite large and the netting itself, very strong. You can get the fish straight off the line and into the net and keep it there and measure it and release.
In my opinion, it can be used for more than for bass and trout.
It seems good for saltwater fishing. I can see getting the fish in the net for measuring on a boat as well.
It's convenient because it folds and it's light, making it easy to take along.
Highly recommended.
Ashley Shaner : Short handle is nice
I keep this net at our marina for grabbing fish that are too heavy for our poles. I don’t use it fly fishing, as I don’t do that. The short handle makes it nice for close up fishing and not scooping from the boat. Large enough to hold large mouth bass, cat fish, and the like. Works for my use.
Osprey : Great net
This is an excellent net. It is well made and strong enough even for a big fish. It folds and unfolds with easy, and locks into place securely so you dont have to worry about if folding in half while in use. As my kids have discovered, it also doubles as a butterfly net.
Blueberry Smiles : Lightweight
This net is made of strong lightweight materials. I like the way the handle conveniently folds down for compact storage. The handle also has a comfortable grip and loop at the end to allow it to be worn around the wrist. The net size is pretty big and deep. The quality is good.
Amazon Customer : Looks to be excellent quality
Nice and compact but haven't been able to use i yet
CGR : great net!
Love this! I actually got this to catch chickens ... sometimes when my babies are young and I am introducing them to the big coop, they do not go in on their own and I need to catch them and put them in. My old net was worn out. This is perfect. It is compact and folds. It has a hook on it that I use to store it hooked on our garden fence. The net itself is well made and seems to be waxed. The quality is way better then the last net I had. I think this one will last longer. Not at all flimsy. Very impressed, exceeded my expectations. No regrets.
Bam : Excellent durability.
World buy again. Great quality. Colorful too

HappyGuy : Good quality folds up small
Great quality fishing net very lightweight but extremely sturdy folds up nicely stores well in your gear bag.
Mad Max : Great quality
The handle isn't really that long, even fully extended. But it's as long as the non-extendable net I've been using for years.
I really wouldn't think of this as an extendable handle, but rather, as a regular handle that shortens a few inches and folds for storage. And frankly, I'm not sure this actually saves any storage space, I think they did it so it could be shipped more easily.
Nonetheless it's a great net. The plastic handle and hinge seem sturdy. The only weak point I think is the hinge pin, I hope it's strong enough to hold up when you have a wiggling fish in there. The netting material seems fine, the frame is sturdy attractive aluminum. Seems solid, thumbs up.
Lisa B. : Love that the net part isn’t mesh
This is the best net I’ve had. It’s not like carrying a long awkward pole. That’s good because I’m clumsy enough. And my favorite thing about it is the net isn’t just mesh that’s easy to tear. It’s coated in rubber stuff. It really gives me a peace of mind knowing it is more sturdy due to this.
JoAnne Wilkes : It helps you catch the big ones!
It helps you catch the big ones!
HKB : Great quality and multiple uses.
ideal to bring that big fish in OR to let grandkids walk in shallow water and catch tadpoles, minnows, salamanders, crawfish, frogs, etc. excellent investment !!
Andyboff66 : Love this net
Testing this as part of the Amazon Vine program. I was astounded at the cost of fishing nets when I was looking so I think for under $30 this is an excellent buy. It is of the newer rubber coated design so doesn't soak up water like a sponge. One click easily fold down for storage and carrying and telescopic handle for extra reach. It's very light, quite sturdy and very useful. Good enough for most size fish, except large catches. Overall I rated it 5 stars.
CGR : very nice design
Love this! I actually got this to catch chickens ... sometimes when my babies are young and I am introducing them to the big coop, they do not go in on their own and I need to catch them and put them in. My old net was worn out. This is perfect. It adjusts to have a long or short handle. The net folds back to the handle for storage. The net itself is well made and seems to be waxed. The quality is way better then the last net I had. I think this one will last longer. Not at all flimsy. Very impressed, exceeded my expectations. No regrets.
Natalie Kilpatrick : Fishing Net
Good quality and folds nicely for storage in our boat.
Amazon Customer : Hook free netting
Net is used for bass fishing. The best feature is hooks don't get caught up in the netting
shelly : Durable
Works great perfect size
Mad Max : Great quality

Nebti14 : Sturdy, capable...
A sturdy, quality net. Nice how it folds up. Yet opened, it seems solid as a rock. In some situations the length of the overall net and handle may be a bit short (41 inches), but otherwise this is just a great net. A really nice addition to my fishing equipment....
Tigerlillian : More humane
Compact, strong, and durable — all qualities that are great for outdoor gear. Not to mention great functionality.
This net folds and unfolds easily with one hand. It has a handy belt hook that doesn't require a whole lot of finagling to quickly remove to net your catch. Good size opening with a wide mouth and easy to use shape. The handle is short but an optimal length.
The net material has a flexible rubberized finish that is less abrasive on fish than woven, knotted nylon. The bail is nice and wide and the bottom is flat, not cone shaped, which means fish are less likely to thrash and injure themselves, which is important if releasing, or trying to make a more human catch.
Husband usually loves fishing steelhead and salmon, but this net is too small for wild game fish. This is ideal for bank fishing panfish and trout up to 3-4 lbs.
T Cook : Great net
Husband loves the net
T Cook : Great net
Husband loves the net
AmandaW : Heavy duty, well made, folds down
We took this camping and fishing and it’s been a great net. It’s large, lightweight but not so much that it feels cheap. Folding handle saves space. Great pick up
William M. : As advertrised!
Light weight and functional.
Bev : nice
It doesn't matter how big of a fish you catch if you can't land it. This is a really nice net for just that. The net is mostly snag free and it folds up to stay out of the way.
james d. ollom : It seems to be a nice sturdy net
I used it last weekend on my feelfree lure kayak . It worked very good . i kept it unfolded and extended . I have used it to catch about 100 fish in the last month .
carroll ward : Nice
Love the build and sturdiness. The belt clip is nice for a day on the River.
Here is my honest opinion : great size
This is a good size net. We are keeping it on our boat, but our grandson is eyeing it for himself as he walks to a lake by his house to fish. It folds easily and even has a clip to hold it onto his backpack (he pointed that out).
Etienne : San Like fishing net is great for small fish (only)
This is an excellent net for small fish (under 5 pounds). It has a lax-like aluminum handle that is attached to a large net. I like the net design with its flat (not cylindrical vase). The net handle folds up and, while this is a handy feature, it limits the amount of weight that the net can manage without stress.
Mad Max : Great quality

M : Strong fishing net
Very durable. Has a Strong colored mesh net. Hinged to collapse. Pole comes with an extension. Made well. Makes for a good fishing gift.
Steven murdock : Best storable net I’ve everhad
Easy to open and close for storage. Strong landing net. Sure beats those round aluminum nets from the bait stores. I have landed many fish from my boat. The largest was a 26 inch large mouth and the net worked flawlessly.
101 : Best Net I've Ever Had
Biggest thig is that its durable. This is that plain jane net you had as a kid. This is tough. It extends like a pool cleaning net. You twist it an pull it to extend it. You can collapse it in half for easier storage. It even had a hook for you to hang it. The colors are amazing and cool to look at. The net itself is coated and held everything I put in it. Best net I've ever had.
Mary V : Good for catch and release
I like this net. The handle clicks into place and stays put until you release it. (Not the case with a previously tried net). Lmckowen : Nice net
Compact and well built
Peter Weyland : Thoughts from Sportsman's Paradise
Really loving that it's collapsible. Makes a big difference as far as being able to bring it along, and not have to deal with carrying a regular, full-size net. For the price, it's actually sturdy and dependable. They advertise it as being ideal for fly fishing (freshwater), but it also works well for saltwater fishing as well. Lightweight, but also durable. If you're looking for a good net for around twenty bucks, this one is a safe bet.
Lourie L. : Quality Net
The first day we had it my family caught 6 catfish and had a fish fry. Great Net!!!
