Product reviews of SAN LIKE Collapsible Telescopic Pole Fishing Net - Folding Extend Rubber Coated Freshwater Saltwater Landing Net for Trout Bass Steelhead Salmon Kayak
Karen S. : Great Product
Purchased for my son, loved it, hooks to your belt loop (if desired!) Handy item for fishing!
Becky Brooks : Great Idea but a Bit Flimsy
I think this is a great design for a folding net. It opens and closes pretty easily. I think this would be perfect for light fish but can not see this working out for a heavy fish.
The netting is good, and it is a nice size. I like that the handle telescopes. It folds up and won't take up too much room. It just feels like it might break if I tried to use it on a bigger fish.
Thanks for reading my review
Becky Brooks
james d. ollom : It seems to be a nice sturdy net
I used it last weekend on my feelfree lure kayak . It worked very good . i kept it unfolded and extended . I have used it to catch about 100 fish in the last month .
K.D. : Always comes in handy at the beach
Whenever we go to the beach with the kids, I always wish I had a fishing net to catch some of the little fishes with the kids. I started to look for fishing nets online and settled with the San Like fishing landing net.
The quality of the net and pole are both pretty good. The net seems pretty sturdy and does not look like it can tear easily. I really like the fact that the pole can be folded for easy storage in the car.
Overall, we are pretty satisfied with the San Like net, it is not heavy at all and the kids can use it without any problem. This gets a solid 5 stars from me and the kids.
My Two Cents : EHHHH
If you're planning on using this with larger fish... keep looking. This doesn't feel sturdy enough for that.
This would be great for smaller fish/bait catching but nothing to help you bring tha big un in
F. Todd : Good quality, sturdy, attractive.
I was surprised by how sturdy yet lightweight this net is. Love the belt hanger, sits nicely and is so light I barely even feel it. The pole feels solid with an easy twisting lock for smooth telescoping. Easily folds to a small foot print. Others have mentioned the concern of the plastic at the net elbow, but it feels pretty darn solid to me. Attractive rainbow net that has a nice rubberized coating on it. A happy addition to my gear.
Mary V : Good for catch and release
I like this net. The handle clicks into place and stays put until you release it. (Not the case with a previously tried net). The netting is silicone or soft rubber, which is relatively easy on the fish. This is a boon for those who practice catch and release (and for the fish!). The net size is ample for most freshwater species. The only thing I might change would be to make the handle longer, although there are benefits of a short handle.
Glock Girl : NICE NET
Its a sturdy and well made net but the one I purchased for $19.99 does not extend. This cost it one star.
James : Very nice
Great little net for both kayak fishing and while using the jon boat. Will be getting a second one.
Lmckowen : Nice net
Compact and well built
Booyakasha : I like it!!
This is a pretty nice net. I plan to use it in my kayak and feel confident it will work well and hold up just fine since I am not the greatest fisherman and never catch gigantic fish.
Some are concerned with how it will hold up against larger fish and I completely understand their concerns. The hinge portion is made of plastic but I put 10 lbs in it, bounced it around and it held up fine.
The netting is rubber coated and seems to be very durable. Taking it from the folded position to the ready position is extremely easy and can be done with a flick of the wrist. There is a nice clip on the net that can be used to hang it from a PFD or a belt.
Don’t get me wrong this would be a much nicer net if they made the hinge out of aluminum but for your average fisherman that is fishing for bass and other fish that don’t get over 6 pounds very often will most likely be very happy with this net. If you plan on landing large fish and need a net you may want to look elsewhere.
If I have any issues with this I will update my review but I have a feeling it will serve its purpose for me.
Amazon Customer : Looks to be excellent quality
Nice and compact but haven't been able to use i yet
T Cook : Great net
Husband loves the net
Tigerlillian : More humane
Compact, strong, and durable — all qualities that are great for outdoor gear. Not to mention great functionality.
This net folds and unfolds easily with one hand. It has a handy belt hook that doesn't require a whole lot of finagling to quickly remove to net your catch. Good size opening with a wide mouth and easy to use shape. The handle is short but an optimal length.
The net material has a flexible rubberized finish that is less abrasive on fish than woven, knotted nylon. The bail is nice and wide and the bottom is flat, not cone shaped, which means fish are less likely to thrash and injure themselves, which is important if releasing, or trying to make a more human catch.
Husband usually loves fishing steelhead and salmon, but this net is too small for wild game fish. This is ideal for bank fishing panfish and trout up to 3-4 lbs.

ReviewerX : Fits Perfectly into the Kayak!
Is well-made, I like the coated netting - that already makes it better than the other nets I've used, but the thing that makes this really awesome is that it folds and then wedges in perfectly into the storage compartment in my kayak. Very happy!
A Simpkins : Good and sturdy
This was perfect. I used it to catch fish and chickens. It has held up through both.
Here is my honest opinion : great size
This is a good size net. We are keeping it on our boat, but our grandson is eyeing it for himself as he walks to a lake by his house to fish. It folds easily and even has a clip to hold it onto his backpack (he pointed that out).
J. Stroh : A good basic start out net for fly fishing.
This net is okay but was a bit disappointed that the frame seems to bend somewhat when a fish is put into it. The netting is fine and is well made and doesn't snap at all. But the frame seems a bit flimsy. It's okay for 3 to 5 pound fish but anything weighing more than that seems to make the frame bend. I have a net that I have been using for several years and it does not bend like this one. Will probably give this to my grandson as it is a good start out net.
Gerbera_Reads : Good Fly Fishing Landing Net
This Fly Fishing Landing Net is well made, sturdy and lightweight. It has a collapsible handle that has a non slip rubber tip at the end that ensures the net stays in your hands even if they are wet. The net itself is strong and durable. There is also a little side hook for easy out of the way storage. Very dependable net.
Nebti14 : Sturdy, capable...
A sturdy, quality net. Nice how it folds up. Yet opened, it seems solid as a rock. In some situations the length of the overall net and handle may be a bit short (41 inches), but otherwise this is just a great net. A really nice addition to my fishing equipment....
Snoochie boochies : Works great for me
So far been a great net. I use it wade fishing and on drift boat. I have landed large trout above 20 inches and some solid bass with no issues. I like it folds up so I can carry on back with magnet. It's easy to reach back and flip it open when needed. I do feel the hinge will be the week point but it hasn't given me any issues.
Anita Etienne : Awesome landing net!
The only complaint I have is the description of this item or items. as there are 2 different nets but they seem to have the photos for both nets on both of the items. Are you confused yet? I was... because I must've ordered the shorter one. Then I sent it back and got the right one which is the one that extends to 41 inches. The net is outstanding, it's lightweight, it folds away, and it floats!! The net is a light rubber, and soft, the fish love it! There's a little metal hook so you can hang it on your belt and it looks great! Haha!
Glock Girl : NICE NET
Its a sturdy and well made net but the one I purchased for $19.99 does not extend. This cost it one star.
cindy Thomas : Where is my refund?
I liked everything about it, just the net opening a little too small to be able to fit over the butt seat. I have returned this several days ago but according to status of return it hasn't progressed. Please let me know what I should do.
Siobhan E : Good Quality
I used it for small mouth bass and it worked fine. The rubber coating on the netting kept the hooks from digging in.
Peter Weyland : Thoughts from Sportsman's Paradise
Really loving that it's collapsible. Makes a big difference as far as being able to bring it along, and not have to deal with carrying a regular, full-size net. For the price, it's actually sturdy and dependable. They advertise it as being ideal for fly fishing (freshwater), but it also works well for saltwater fishing as well. Lightweight, but also durable. If you're looking for a good net for around twenty bucks, this one is a safe bet.
Etienne : San Like fishing net is great for small fish (only)
This is an excellent net for small fish (under 5 pounds). It has a lax-like aluminum handle that is attached to a large net. I like the net design with its flat (not cylindrical vase). The net handle folds up and, while this is a handy feature, it limits the amount of weight that the net can manage without stress.

baby momma knows : Well made fishing net just wish the handle was extendable or longer
Honest review here.
So my husband and I are avid fisherman. He fish mostly salt water and he fishes freshwater bass some times. The netting material on this is very well made and should withstand use, sun damage and fish damage (has a nice light weight rubber coating on it). I really like the material and i don't think it will pull or unravel. The handle is metal and sturdy. It is also fold-able which is ideal for storage on the boat.
My husbands biggest complaint was that he wished the handle was extendable and or longer. It's a tad short if you ask us. Especially for salt water fishing. Regardless this is well made, sturdy and will definitely not harm a fish. I highly recommend it. As described as well!
SuperVine : Brilliant Space Saving Design
I personally think is is a very brilliant design that save tons of space. The net and the handle seems to be sturdy, but I highly doubt it will be as durable as the traditional net without the collapsible feature. It should probably be fine catching something like a 10-15 pound fish. This fishing net has some unpleasant chemical (rubber or plastic or both) smells upon opening the plastic wrap.
Pros: 1. Collapsible Design
Cons: 1. Chemical Smell, Hopefully It will Subside In A Couple Of Days.
Here, There, & Everywhere : Lightweight, Portable, & Great Capacity.
I ordered this fishing net for my teen son. He always wants to go fishing, so I figured he should have a decent fish net. This is a pretty decent net. The net capacity is nice. Great for bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, and more. The net handle is lightweight, but really sturdy. There is also a great hand grip too. This net folds up and easily unfolds when needed. There is a locking mechanism that slides/pulls back. Overall my son seems quite pleased w/this net. It's definitely better than the old kind my father used when I was a kid. Note: There is a strong chemical smell from the net mesh. We put it outside for a few days to air out.
Lisa B. : Love that the net part isn’t mesh
This is the best net I’ve had. It’s not like carrying a long awkward pole. That’s good because I’m clumsy enough. And my favorite thing about it is the net isn’t just mesh that’s easy to tear. It’s coated in rubber stuff. It really gives me a peace of mind knowing it is more sturdy due to this.
Cheesus 2032 : You need this net.
This freaking net hauls ass! I ain't kidding. You'll be the coolest cat on the water hauling pigs out with this bad boy! Belt clip is sweet. Extendo handle is super helpful for off the bank fly rodding and floating in a boat. You will be shocked at the quality as compared to the price point. Buy this net.
☕ Creative Coffee ☕ : high quality net that is perfect for catch and release fishing
Much easier to maneuver underwater than the thicker heavier rubber net I used last year. Holds up very well. Good construction on the handle and the rubberized netting is very sturdy. Long enough handle without the need for an extending one, but not too big that it gets in the way. Much better than my old nylon mesh net. Never use another string net again. Spend more time fishing and less time getting the hook out of string.
Hope you found this review helpful!
shelly : Durable
Works great perfect size
robert l grovenburg : Best small net i have ever had
Love this net would have paid even more for it had i seen and held it. And it is nice looking to boot. Very light and very well made for a folding net. Only thing i would change is clear netting. Other than that very nice net for use stream fishing or from a small boat.
JF : Purchase
Was exactly what we were looking for.
bronco34 : Nice net
Perfect for bass fishing and can easily handle the big ones. Also floats, which is good since my last one didn't.
Ryan Le : Lost the net on highway drive, wind broke off the net
Its a nice net I got to used it for the first time yesterday. On the way back from a fishing trip I had the net inside my boat rod holder and the top part of the net broke off during a highway (60 mph) drive. I only have the handle left now with no net.
101 : Best Net I've Ever Had
Biggest thig is that its durable. This is that plain jane net you had as a kid. This is tough. It extends like a pool cleaning net. You twist it an pull it to extend it. You can collapse it in half for easier storage. It even had a hook for you to hang it. The colors are amazing and cool to look at. The net itself is coated and held everything I put in it. Best net I've ever had.
F. Todd : Lightweight. Easy carry. Solid.
Very lightweight! But doesn't feel cheap, a little less so at the folding elbow but once locked up it feels good and solid. Great belt loop to easily clip and stays put pretty well, really nice machined hook. The net is a nice rubberized finish, it did have a bit of a chemical smell to it but nothing an airing out won't handle.
Great simple carry net for a quick excursion. Very portable.
loveguitar : Seems to be Good Quality
This trout/bass net already has 131 reviews so I don't know what I could say about it that would be unique. I think it's pretty well made and seems sturdy. It's easy to unfold and fold back and the grip feels good in my hand. I don't know how long the rubbery netting will last though. Hubs has a fishnet gizmo similar to this one except it's about 40 years old and the nylon net is still good, as well as the aluminum frame. So, my only concern would be if you kept this for years would the net eventually dry rot away? No way of telling that but it seems like a material that would. I guess you could get a replacement net.
Momma Shark : I'm buying more as Christmas gifts!
I love this net! I got it for my husband and I when we fish. It is small and compact. It is easy to fold and unfold for use. It is super sturdy and I love the suze of it. This is my new must have for fishing!
Here is my honest opinion : great size
This is a good size net. We are keeping it on our boat, but our grandson is eyeing it for himself as he walks to a lake by his house to fish. It folds easily and even has a clip to hold it onto his backpack (he pointed that out).
JoAnne Wilkes : It helps you catch the big ones!
It helps you catch the big ones!
JF : Purchase
Was exactly what we were looking for.
Honest Feedback : I caught a fish THIS BIG!
I like the folding handle on this fishing net. My boat is small so I'm focused on collapsible gear and just saving space in general. This net is very light weight which is good for hiking/camping gear and while the netting doesn't seem that tough it surely won't rot or get all stiff like my fabric nets have. So far, I have caught a couple of catfish with it and it did the job nicely.
Dave : Light wait Quality and quick service
Just what i Wanted. Will use Fly Fishing hopefully starting late March or early April for Rainbow Browns Lake trout off the shores of Lake Ontario
