The EMCAST Bite N’ Run feature allows line to pay off the reel when a gamefish takes a live or natural bait. Once line is paying off the reel, the refined Auto Clutch will put the reel in gear allowing a solid hook set. It is much more controlled than simply opening up the bail, the traditional method used when fishing natural baits with spinning reels. The reel sizes vary from a 2500 Series to a 5000 Series making the versatile reel line suitable for many different applications in many different fisheries. The reel designs are in the LT Concept of light yet tough. The Carbon Light Body is substantially lighter yet just as strong as traditional materials. To further the concept, the Air Rotor is also lighter yet just as strong. A slick Machined Aluminum Handle is powerful yet comfortable to the hand. When a gamefish is taking a bait offering and the reel is put in gear, the ATD or Advanced Tournament Drag System, utilizing a proprietary grease, allows the smooth payoff of line no matter how long the run. A 5.2 to 1 Gear Ratio shades the reel toward pulling power. Answer: Yes it is. It's for the the bite and run action. This is a very smooth reel will cast a mile. Only thing is I thought the reel would be bigger kinda on the the small side.

What are the braided line specs for this reel?

Answer: I have 40lb braid 150yds at least.

Answer: I spooled on approximately 15 yards of 20lb Yo-Zuri monofilament as the backing then spooled 300m (330 yards) of 20lb J-Braid. Daiwa’s website shows J-Braid 15lb 320 yards, 20lb 280 yards and monofilament at 14lb 250 yards, 20lb 160yards.

Bought it for my wife seen how nice it was I bought one for me lol very well made great quality reel.

Great reel! I was shocked when I opened the box to see a second spool. This reel is smooth as silk when retrieving. It cast very well, and the line leaves the spool with the upmost efficiency. the only thing is the second drag is not quite as sensitive as I'd imagined. I chose this reel for my passion catching carp. I free line bait with no weight. Still for me I've found it best to fish open bail for a minimal resistance bite. But catfishing was the best thing for the initial run after taking your bait. Using a circle hook it's just flip the switch and fish on!! My heart found its beat with this reel and definitely recommended it to anyone. The overall product is great from the functionality to the look I'm very pleased with this purchase!

The reel is excellent quality but I don’t understand why they say 5000c so C stands for compact therefore not a 5000 ? This reel is tiny more like a 2000 size and completely useless for what I wanted .., if you want a 5000 size maybe look elsewhere... if you want a small reel then this would be a great choice...
