Answer: It is not.. The mid size series is around 10 oz. It coulf be a good reel but the am out of force needed to get the reel spinning would wear a person out .

Not as light at would seem and feels like a cheap plastic. Gears started grinding after 5th use. Oiled up and clean always still. Started feeling it weird after 7th cast tried lures on it but its too heavy an dgears arent great so now i just use it for bair fishing!

I have been using Piscifun reels for some time now. This reel is definitely one of my favorites. First thing I noticed was the new sleek look of the reel. The colors really pop and man its sharp. Next was the weight. This reel is very lightweight and feels incredibly strong. I love the hollow design that was applied to the frame, it really brought up the style. When fishing the reel it stood out in many areas. The reel has a great gear ratio and is super fast. The smoothness while reeling and casting is incredible. The drag on this thing is a beast. I love having confidence that if I hook into a river monster my reel will be able to handle it. A great feature also is how they increased the waterproofing. Now for what put me over the edge with this reel. THE PRICE TAG. It amazes me how this company can offer such stand out products at such a low price point.

Reel arrived today and was excited until I opened the package. Reel looks nice and feels solid but the performance is not smooth at all. Reel does not feel like it has close to 10 bearings and is very rough especially when feeling slow. It was sticking and seems to find up. I have purchased other reels from Pascifun and am satisfied. I am returning the Viper 2 and going to try the original version. Hope the original is smoother.

Used this reel on a 2 day fishing trip recently for finesse bass fishng and it really held up! Solid feeling, like the handle/construction i really like. Caught 90 bass on it and it felt just as good as any shimano ive ever owned. I recommend the 2000 model its perfect for worming and other finesse fishing applications. The only thing is i wouldnt say its not the SMOOTHEST reel ive ever owned. I applied lube and grease and it worked alittle better. I think its just how they built this reel. I will either buy this one or carbon version to replace another reel soon.
