I see there are two options here. First shows definitely as "right hand retrieval" is the second option for "left hand retrieval"?
Answer: Be careful... the selections are both right hand retrieve... one is 31inch and the other is 35inch retrieve.... the comparison chart leads you to believe if you select the blue text under the left hand models that the purchase page will bring you to a left hand model... it does not... I've learned my lesson by assuming one was right so the other had to be left... wrong... Amazon couldn't cancel my purchase 5 full days before the expected delivery date
Answer: As far as I know there is a right hand retrieve and a left hand retrieve. So I would assume that the second option in your case could be left hand retrieve. Would have to see actual information. If the option has a lower price then that could be the reason. I suggest you contact seller to get actual answer.

Answer: I typically use a 3/8 oz. weight and a 7" culprit worm. That's not much weight and it casts great. Haven't tried something as small as a Mep's spinner, but should perform well. I have 4 Lew's reels in my arsenal, and simply enjoy all of them
Answer: It can cast lighter lures if braking Sys is set correctly. If your light is a crappie jig your better off using a spinning reel.

Got this reel to cast heavier inshore saltwater baits. Wow am I impressed. High capacity reel and performance of a well made baitcaster make this a highly recommended medium duty reel. Cast one ounce bait into the wind with ease.

If you are an experienced bass fisherman w/casting reels, check this one out. Smooth as can be with great breaking system. It is VERY light but also very strong. I haven't had the opportunity to fight a true lunker but have caught several from 4-6 lbs. and it works great.

I really like this one though. The one minor issue is that if you have been using the older (3+ year) old lews reels, and you go to set the Centripetal brakes on the reel, you might break the "rollers" . These reels don't have brakes you pull in and pull out or flip on and off.
To set the brakes you simply use the 1-30 position dial on the right side ( or left side), depending on how it cranks, and that is it........
Boom.....AWESOME Reel.

I have several of these reels in various gear ratios. What ever you want to tune your reel to throw you will be happy. High ratios are lightning quick across the water and very smooth casting. Lower ratios feel like you could pull up a diving bell.
Mine are all used every week. Once or twice a year I degrease them and then oil, lube or grease. Usually while watching TV. I’ve never had a single problem with any my lews reels

MacMals : Haven't use it enough for to truly do a review but so far it is a hit.
This reel looks good, casts on par with most bait casters but with less backlashes. The drag is strong enough to catch any monster that resides in your lake, the grips are slip resistant when wet but I don't find them as comfortable as most of the other reels I have used. That being said they feel like they can really handle the abuse of heavy power fishing or abuse of bank fishing. My favorite part about the reel that makes it outshine any others I have had is the centrifugal braking system that can be adjusted from outside the reel. This feature is GREAT and the reel only backlashes if I do something totally stupid like take the brakes almost totally off and try to really wing something out there on a windy day. I did have a Diawa that I loved back in the day but the brake and drag are better on the Lew's. I would also like to commend Amazon on selling a nice reel at an even better price.
