Answer: The drag is very good for the price

Answer: I fell through the ice and was unable to use the reel. Thank goodness the water was only up to my nuts. The drag felt good enough for pan fish. I hope we get thicker ice this winter.

Could I attach this to a compound bow with some bolts to make a fishing bow?

Answer: No, well you could but it would only last once. This is more of a micro fishing reel, panfish size fishing. It works well for that but if you got anything over 5lbs I’d think this reel would explode.

What's the order of the washers for the star drag?

Answer: I see you also discovered the washers explode out when you loosen the star nut. From the inside to the outside, place the two dado shaped washers, then the flat metal washer, then the gasket washer. Be careful not to cross thread the star nut when you screw it back on.

what is the actual diameter of the wheel?

Answer: It’s about 2 5/16 inches.

Answer: It is both but when switching from left to right you need let all your line out and reel it in from the side you are going to use

When ever I shop at my local outdoor store I also check amazon for pricing. Amazon was a little more cost effective and I needed a pair of them for running my planer boards. Had to take 1 star away from easy to use, only because running the boards is new to me and not sure easy. Happy with my purchase

This is a nifty little reel. I bought it as past of a homemade survival fishing kit & it absolutely fits the bill. I didn’t get it or the other parts to go after citation fish, but only to collect some protein. So I think it’s a great fit for that need.

Yes it can work. . .kind of. There is no real drag system, instead there is just the star shaped knob on the side that tightens the whole reels ability to turn. Good thing it was cheap. I wouldn't buy again.

The Bag Man : Beware

Be careful, the line will find its way behind the reel shaft & is very difficult to get out. I had to take the screws out of the reel & take it apart to get it out. Would not recommend.
