Answer: 8lb magnet pull force
Q:
What weight does the magnets support up to?
Answer: - 8lb magnet pull force
Answer: My net release is attached to a midsized net which is about 2lbs, however the magnet is an 8lb pull force.

Product reviews of FishPond Confluence Net Release - Fly Fishing
Greg : This is a good magnet/leash combo
This is a good magnet/leash combo. I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars, but the magnet is actually TOO strong for my backpack/net and it makes it awkward to pull and release. If you have a larger net and/or hike rough terrain where your net may snag or dislodge, this is the leash for you
Eric Powers : First off I love every thing fishpond makes
First off I love every thing fishpond makes, I have my fishpond Vest filled with their tools but this one not so much. the magnets are strong and the look good, the cord stays out of the way anuff. but no matter what I have tried I can not get the magnets to connect with out using both hands. it can be a real pain in rough water. so if tend to carry you net on your back the traditional way you may end up cursing this thing out. but you'll look good doing it.
Mitchell Tarter : Perfect
Perfect for keeping my catch and release fish net from floating away while taking a photo of a big rainbow.
Bryan : Magnet holds tight for me, but I worry about how rugged the plastic coil is.
I have had no issues so far with this, even though I was a little hesitant to purchase based on the reviews. It holds my net just fine and I don't seem to have to an issue getting it linked back up with one hand. The machined magnetic part is quality, but the plastic coil part is questionable over the long term. It could easily be replaced with another one if needed, but I would hate for it to fail at the wrong time while on the water. It looks like all of these use a similar quality coil so I may be overthinking this. Time will tell.
As for price... of course it is grossly overpriced! Fishpond holds a trademark on grossly overpriced fly gear, but it is what it is. I am hoping like many of my other Fishpond products, this is a "buy once, cry once" product.
K.D. : Plastic folder piece and coil rock, magnet sucks.
While the plastic foldover leash is fantastic for an attachment point, the magnet is pretty lackluster. For behind the back connections, you're pretty much S.O.L. This magnet is very strong once seated but impossible to connect unless you hold both pieces 1" or less apart. It also doesn't alwasy seat just right. The plastic foldover piece and the lanyard both work great. I used my old SF magnet to replace this magnet and now have a great system!
phil : Good Magnet
This magnetic net release has a much stronger magnet than others I've tried and disliked. Going through brush, rhododendron, etc., my net stays put instead of getting pulled off my vest. It stays put until you want it for netting a fish! Good length of cord as well. Very Good net release, and this is the third or fourth brand I've tried over the years. 5 stars
Long Beach Bass : Strong magnet - works perfect for my net.
Outstanding - it works great.
Paul S. : Not worth the extra $20
Bought this at a local fly shop. Figured with it being three times the price of other net retrieval magnets it would be good. It sucks. I got rid of the lanyard after the first use. The magnet doesn't hold any better than the less expensive ones. About the only thing about that is any better than a ten dollar magnet is it's looks. The looks and lack of any better performance is not worth the extra 20 bucks.

Cutler Dunn : Very Strong Magnet
I have bought 3 new nets already because the bungee string on my old nets would snap and the net would float away. I bought this in hopes I wouldn’t have to buy another net for a while and save myself from more frustration of losing another. Right when I opened the packaging, I knew it was high quality. The magnet is very strong and holds my pretty heavy wooden net to my back on my sling pack. The rubberized cord stretches more than far enough to net a fish on my own and. This magnetic release is lit ????!! I recommended it to all my fishing buddies
dave clouse : Good Product
Great quality. Cord works great and always keeps it form. Magnets very powerful.
R M P : Four Stars
works well
Kilmore : Excellent item...
Solid construction, well thought out attachment hardware, a good item for your kit.
