This fishing net looks well-made and is just the right size for use on a boat or from shore. The extendable handle can be locked or unlocked by twisting clockwise and counterclockwise respectively. There’s a spring-loaded release for locking the net in the opened or folded position. For stream trout fishing, I’ve switched to rubber nets years ago. The biggest advantage of rubber nets is that hooks do not penetrate and get stuck on the net. Unlike my trout nets (see photo), which is made entirely from rubber, this net is only rubber coated, and there’s no coating on the bottom seams. Also, the net is attached to the frame via some sort of plastic coated fabric that hooks may penetrate. I hope this net holds up well in saltwater because that’s where I’ll be using it almost exclusively. I’ll update this review accordingly if I encounter any surprises.
