is the 29" the expanded length?

Answer: The handle comes in three lengths 18" 29" and 48". The 29" handle extends to 60" (this is the one I have and use for bass fishing). THe 18" handle extends to 36", and the 48" handle extends to 108".

Does this handle also attach to the ego s1 series?

Answer: Yes, the net can be unscrewed from one Ego net handle to another Ego handle. This includes the other Ego attachments as well. I originally purchased the Ego S1 net and later bought the extended handle. They work perfectly together.

Answer: Correct, the handle can go from 29" to 60" plus the head of the net.

Answer: It’s pretty lousy that the manufacturer changed the handle screw size so only their handles will fit the net

Answer: This EGO S2 slider handles is 48" and extends to 108". The handle diameter is 1.48"

Is this the second generation handle that is rated for more weight capacity?

Answer: I just got the net out of the boat and checked. The unextended handle is 44 inches from the very end of the handle to the base of the threaded portion that the net handle screws into. Extended the handle is 100 inches if locked in the last detent measured the same way, that is, from the very bottom of the handle to the base of the threads.
