My vote is KVD.
Jason Christie is mine.
Id like to see one of the Bass Nation guys take it. But my money is going on Aaron Martens.
It's kinda like when Tiger was on top. I'll take KVD vs the field in any tourney.
Aaron Martens
If the jerkbait is on KvD is going to be a tuff one to beat..
If the weather and the front mess with the fish, look for Martens and Ike for a finesse bite. KVD is a just a beast and he will most likely be fishing on sunday anyways.
I like Christie or E2
My dark horse's would be Alton Jones and Ott Defoe. I believe KVD or A-mart could be up there as well. I have to go local yocal tho! LOL
Matt lee!!
KVD but if I have to pick someone without superpowers... I think Christie is the best regular human in the field.
Bill Lowen, because I pick him evey year!!
If it's a jerkbait bite - I going with Mike McClelland.
A-Jay
KVD. It's time.
Toss up with KVD and Martens....we will see!!

Agreed! And with water temps where they are, it looks like it may be shaping up to be a good jerkbait bite but who knows right? haha
I am rooting for Pete Gluszek though. Local guy who I have fished next too many times. Come on Pete!!
David Walker gonna lock this one up!! Jigs and Carolina rigs.
KVD and Mclelland are gonna be hard to beat. I beleive they have both won on these waters and the jerkbait deal is gonna play into their strengths. I'd kida like to see Mclelland win a Classic, he seems like a godd fella.
I'll be rooting for Shaw Grigsby. One of the greatest BASS anglers yet to have won a classic IMHO.

I'll be rooting for Evers, but I think McClelland has a great shot at taking it.

Gonna have to be someone with some experience on the lake and in fishing in cold weather. I'm hoping for Chapman to follow up his AOY year with a Classic win. If the jerkbait bite is on McClelland will be hard to beat.
I think it will be somebody no one is expecting.
Mike McClelland

Another vote for Mr. Grigsby. If not him, I'd like to see Takahiro Omori win again. For some reason, though, I get this wierd feeling that KVD is going to win.
KVD. . . .
JVD....
As much as I respect and admire the abilities of KVD, I am going to have to go with McClelland for the win. Jason Christie or Brett Chapman would be my dark horse.

x3, but I also like Evers, Martens, Ike.
Mark Pierce get the nod here. Whoever does win will be someone that adapts quickly to changes and can relocate the fish when they move, which they will be doing alot.
who I'd bet on: KVD
who I'm hoping: Shaw Grigsby or....Greg Hackney lol I love those two guys.
Will someone change this one to a poll? Id like to see the exact numbers..it would be interesting.

My top two too! KVD will shine again!
I hope for AMart's sake he wins. What's he had? Like 400 2nd place finishes? #GoAMart

Good Idea but can a poll here handle the entire list of competitors ?

Gotta drop in with some love for Hackney, the only Louisiana angler in the field.
I wouldn't mind A-Mart getting his first win if he quits whining the entire time.
I'm rooting for my African neighbor Gerry Jooste but I doubt that he has ever been this cold in his life. For sure it never snows in Zimbabwe.
Word on the streets, Ike had a REAL good practice. I'm pulling for Gluzsek. Ott Defoe is one to keep an eye on.
Franco, i dont doubt it one bit. I said it yesterday that if the weather/front is a factor IKE and A MART are the guys to watch! Ott is a rising star and will be a threat for a long time.
Ive seen a couple videos of Pete, he seems like a likeable guy. For that sake, i hope he does well too.
I hope IKE wins it..
I think what a lot of people aren't realizing is Grand lake has a TON of 4 and 5 pounders. Somebody is going to catch the heck out of them. I wouldn't be surprised if the big bass isn't an 8 or 9 pounder!
Like Ike, KVD and Evers but I'm gonna say McClelland.
KVD...when on the cold side he finds those limited ''highways'' bass use during early pre-spawn..sucks though third of field will follow him
The conditions for the next three days tell me that the water temp isn't going to do much moving. If it stays in the upper 40's this is gearing up to be a winter bite and there isn't many better than Mike McClelland in the cold.
I can't believe I'm the only guy who thinks Tommy Biffle is going to take this one!! I also would like to see Shaw win one. He's been doing it so long I'd just like to see him get at least one before he calls it a career. It wouldn't bother me if Hackney won either.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the guy with the heaviest weight at the end of the 3 days will walk away with it
Most of the field has chance to win in my eyes. It's hard to truly narrow it down. They are ALL great at what they do!!!
The odds are on Jason Christie, not familiar with Jason. I believe the drop shot experts dominate this event due to the deep structure bite in the cold weather and water conditions. Aaron Martens is the drop shot angler in the field, both Omori and Miyazasi are good deep structure anglers and you can't count out Edwin Evers, knows the lake and how to win. Ike is the wild card, very versatile and determined. If KVD gets on fish, he is the man.
I hoping for Aaron and think all those mention will make the cut.
Tom
PS; my tract record on picking tournament winners is zero winners!
Defoe is takin home the trophy. He's won rookie of the year his first year and placed 2 nd for angler of year for his second. He is due for a big win and the man flat out fish any type of water.

IMO Christie knows the lake better than any angler fishing. He has won tournaments moving up the ranks on Grand. It is where he started. That could hurt him more than help him though!
Pulling for Ike, Ish, Skeet, and AMart. That being said, my $$$ is on McClelland.
Keep an eye on Jason Christie. This guy could take it.
That said, I'd like to see Aaron Martins, Shaw Grigsby or Gary Klein take it one of these years. These guy paid there dues, and earned it.
Hope it's either Ike or A-Mart.
My money is on Mike McClelland.
Grigsby got a nice 4# 11 oz fish.
Anybody following on BASSTrakk at bassmaster.com?

I am, neat stuff.
I have A-mart, Walker, Howell, JVD and Dove on my fantasy but I think Howell is my favored to win!
I had originally thought it would take 60 to 70 pounds to win this. The weather is going to improve. It might take that much to win.
I'm pulling for Ike last I checked he was in 3rd. I like KVD but the man wins to much I get it he's the greatest I'd just like to see some one else win like Ike!
Just checked basstrakk I retract my statement Ike is in 1st by almost 3 lbs I hope he keeps it up

4 fish going 11-4 on day 1. Not bad at all.
Ike is a choker. He's already torn up his boat, like he does his fishing rods.
Chris Lane is going to win this one, assuming Scott Martin or Rick Clunn don't. Book it.

Dude where have you been? Iim guessing you havent paid attention to this tournament at all.
Lane zeroed out on day one. Rick clunn and scott martin arent even in the tourney.
Ike has been leading for two days, he had problems with his trolling motor and got permission to swap boats with another pro that is driving a camera boat.
I'm taking Cliff Pace to win it.
Aww man, you beat me to it. I was going to say Cliff Pace to!
