Alton Jones says it's going to take triple digits to win. Who do you guys like to win this one? I think Steve Kenedy could do well and there is always KVD.
There are many lakes in Texas capable of breaking the BASS tournament record for heaviest total four-day weight with a catch of 122 pounds, 14 ounces and Falcon is one of those.
I'd have to say Steve kennedy is going to take that tournament. When it comes to big bag tournament, kennedy is always somewhere near the top. Especially the tournament being in Texas, Kennedy will pull out his swimbaits and slaughter the bass. I do agree tho that when KVD is in the tournament anything can happen, he's the best in the business.
Alton Jones.
I figured Fred had them figured out on Amistad last year and will have the same approach with Falcon.
I like the Californian to have strong showing as he did last year when in south Texas, just he'll be alittle further south this time.
STill pulling for my locals in the DFW area as well as the Fork Pros.
Kelly Jordan or Terry Scroggins
Todd Faircloth
It's tough to say. Alton Jones and Steve Kennedy will be at the top for sure though. What do you guys think about Byron V.'s comments about somebody catching a 5 fish sack this week weighing 52lbs?
QuoteWhat do you guys think about Byron V.'s comments about somebody catching a 5 fish sack this week weighing 52lbs?
I wouldnt doubt it.
skeet reese
Largest sack will be 47lbs and winning total will weigh 130lbs. If the weather holds up.
Will this tournament be televised. If so what channel can I find it on, if not where can I find info and updates for it?
www.bassmaster.com it won't be televised til next week I think.
check into bassmaster.com around weight in time they should have live streams and on the final day they will stream video of tournament action online
As a few articles already suggested, as long as the wind isn't too much of an issue, I'd suspect both Kennedy and Rojas' will be broken.
There was a Stren Series event which took place back in January and it took 110-02 for the win. Most of the fish will be lighter and in a postspawn mode, but considering the talent that will be fishing this incredible body of water, both records being broken is a very good possibility.
Flipping brush and chucking a tilipia swimbait (Tru Tungsten) or a chatterbait is my guess on the winning pattern.

Way to represent SoCal Aaron Martens!
It just goes to show how versatile Aaron can be. He isn't just a finesse fisherman.
92 places & still a 4 lb average & 56 places with a 5 lb average
And people not to complain but how about just put up a link instead of listing everyone here.
That's pretty impressive for sure! I didn't even know they had trout in Falcon Lake ;D
42 lbs is rediculous. He was the first to weigh in to so know one else even saw first place. ;D
WOW!!! I had been hearing about Falcon. Looks like a nice place to go fish!
Those are some of the highest weights I've seen!
I wanna go there.
Co-Angler is Randall Jackson 5 bass: 32-10 with a 12-3 kicker
Yeah, and Boyd Duckett was saying this would be the worst day!
Who's your biggest surprise after day 1?
Mark Davis in 4th place with a 35-4 sack! Aint he a crank bait wizard in a flipping tournament?
Denny Brauer in 97th with 17-5 in a flipping tournament!
What's up with that picture?
Yea, when Aaron Martens weighed in, I was like "GEEZ! HOW MANY 40 LB BAGS WILL WE SEE?!" then "Maybe my big sack guess (47lb) will get blown away..." He set the bar high. I'm sticking with my estimate, I think it was a good one. Glad he's on my fantasy team. ;D
Marten's even came in a few HOURS early due to A CROWDED LIVEWELL! haha...
It's a shame what Falcon will look like pressure wise after this tournament... :-/ Not going to be pretty.

Actually, Aaron Martens surprised me. I didnt really even consider him.
Is Falcon already on post spawn patterns?
These guys aren't flippin for these huge sacks... In no way would I call this a "flippin tournament."
The best weights were caught deep, weren't they ?
It's going to be a pleasing tourney to follow. That's for sure.
Every thing I've read or heard it's flipping jigs, aint saying it'll be won on jigs but they will account for more bass than any other bait.
Cj it is post spawn
CJ, here is what bassmaster.com says:
"The majority of the bass have spawned, but it was long enough ago that they're feeding heavily again and beginning to move to specific structure. I have to think someone is simply going to find them at the right time and come in with a huge catch at least one day."
Yep, I figured they were spawned out. If it's anything like around the house, the guys are probally finding congregated groups or lots of quality fish on one spot of structure? I love post spawn fishing. Pull up on one drop and load the boat! Ofcourse timing is everything.
I bet there will be guys that make a big move today.
Amazing weights. I think it's Marten's to loose.
Texas Redneck Bubba Bass Fishing at it's finest
The weights are indeed breathtaking, to say the least.
I'd love to see the a pic of the tank were they put the bass after the weigh-in..... (provided there's such a thing as a collect-tank).
Does somebody know whether fishermen are allowed to cross the border or just fishing at home ?
I'm also waiting to see whether Velvick is going to hold or just reenact what he did at the Citrus Slam.
I hope we will see one record being broken.
Steve Kennedy's ?
Dean Rojas's ?
Mark Tyler's ?
Bryon Velvick's 3 day record was shattered numerous times. The all time 4 day record will fall as well.
Don't think Rojas single day record will fall.
You are allowed to fish across the boundary line with the purchase of a Mexican fishing license.
Clear Lakes BASS record is fixing to be history. Martens weighed in 109 and change.

Yea, and ATLEAST 3 guys are going to do it!!!
15 bass for 83-3 out of the back seat
Rojas's record may not fall this weekend but Amistad is next
No kidding, Falcon definitely has a pile of big fish in it. Some of those guys are culling 5 & 6 pounders.....must be nice! Kennedy can kiss his record goodbye.
From the right ups, Mark Davis' strength is supposed to be catching post-spawn fish. His weights have been the most consistent, no 40+ sack to jump out front but they better watch out for him tomorrow. I think Martens and Byron's spot is drying up
Looks like Mark Davis is going to win this one going into the final day even being down 7lb. Velvick and Martens have been fishing the same area and have hammered there spot hard. Davis was been consistant all 3 days. Just my 2 cents!!!!

Martens is one of the most consistent guys in the Elite Series. I doubt he will lose this event. I am guessing he will bring in 30+ today for the win!
Numerous reports of 65 pound braid being broken with regularity. Thats a mean bass>

The top 12 patterns are shown on Bassmaster today. Most are fishing deeper (12' to 30') with Carolina Rigs, Crankbaits, and Large Worms. No one flipped into the finals. The flippin guys lost this one.
Hmmm... Deep structure... Looks like you could have done pretty well at Falcon Catt.

Hite just said that some are using 20 INCH WORMS!!!!
Unofficially we have 4 guys over Kennedy's record.
Martens with 132, Davis with 130 and then Velvick and Scroggins.
Of course those are estimations.
We are going to be sure of it in a matter of minutes.
The footages of Martens and Velvick fishing shoulder-to-shoulder were sick .
How annoying can this "Lurch" guy get? :
did he just say 10,000 pounds?!?!
Yop I also heard 10,000 .... seems a bit too much to me too.
Perhaps Trip Weldon was also the one who had to set up the stage :
gee ... scroggins just weighed 44lbs 4 oz ...
that was a close one !
Too bad for him
Paul Elias takes it. Congrats to him! 8-)
Yep. Was wanting Aaron to win...oh well.
It is just amazing how 6 guys broke Kennedy's record! Just an incredible tournament won with the good old worm. Can't wait to see the show Saturday!
QuoteLargest sack will be 47lbs and winning total will weigh 130lbs. If the weather holds up.
I think I can say... That my estimate was pretty good. ;D
Also, Terry Scroggins, Aaron Martens, and Casey Ashley are on my Fantasy Team... I did pretty darn good this tournament. ;D Dang Paul Elias... Scroggins would have completely LEAPED all 12 of the guys. lol
Congratulations to Paul Elias! What a great tournament and awesome weight. Sending email to California Department of Fish and Game. Please stop trout stocking imediately and switch to Talapia. Also please procede with cloning "share a lunker" program we are falling behind. ;D ;D ;D
Quotegee ... scroggins just weighed 44lbs 4 oz ...that was a close one !
Yeah, Scroggins said he caught 3 - 10 pounders in the first 30 minutes today. Plus he said he lost an 11 or 12 pounder with 20 minutes left to fish. Holy crap!
You guys think Amistad can even come close or beat Falcon's fishery?
Man I wish I lived in Texas right about now, where 5lbs. are DINKS!!
I think they will all have to fish with their feet at Amistad .... most of them no longer have hands ;D !
Anyway, Paul Elias 1st !
I just wonder how Ishama Monroe took it.
