I'm in but don't worry. Last year I picked in every tournament but finished dead last in all the participants that picked in all the tournaments. I only finished above people that didn't pick in all................................lol

I was next to last .Someone has to be last it might as well be us .
In case you weren't aware, Circuit City closed in 2009.
I'm in.
I'm in. Took it conservative this tournament.
I'm in (as "Jorgaba").
Plugged in my gut feeling team for now, but I'll probably change all of them before the start.
I'm in. I have no clue on what the deal is with Lake Martin in the middle of the winter is. So the first one is going to be a crap shoot.
I'm in !!! Got my picks but will probably change a few.
Where do you sign up for this? I'd love a circuit city gift card! Almost as much as a blockbuster gift card

Although it looks like Glenn has thrown cold water over the Circuit City prize. Maybe he's good for a Blockbuster gift card this year?

I don't know anything about Lake Martin, but that only deepens the mystery...
I've never even heard of most of these guys let alone watched an elite event. I'd say I've got a good chance at last
I'm in. Let the smacktalk begin.

I failed miserably at this, but you get what you pay for...
Hope this goes better than my last place finish in Fantasy Football!
Not even 24 hours since the group was created and we're already at 13 members. It's shaping up to be a fun group.
I think I’m in. I signed up now just figuring out how to get in the league.
I'm in. Went with the home state guys pretty much which means a solid last or next to last is in my future ???? lol

If you're already signed up for fantasy fishing, then you have to set a team (which you can change up until the day of) before you can join the group. Hope this helps.
Yep I got it done and I’m set and ready to go. This will be my first time but I’m not scared I have confidence in my luck!

That was me last year . I kept picking the likes of Shaw Grigsby , Rick Clunn, Paul Elias... a strategy that didnt pan out to well . I did luck into the winner in one tourney with Timmy Horton .

Keep this on the down low, but rumor has it that Glenn is negotiating with Pan Am to provide the winner with air fare for a LMB fishing trip in Alaska, with George Perry as the featured guide...

Awesome! Since I'm going to win it, I wonder if Mr. Perry and I could try for the giant Peacock bass that everyone is talking about up in Anchorage?

I felt guilty for not picking Jacob Wheeler in group a because he was the only one I seen that's from indiana like me.
21 people already signed up.. DANGGGgggg

With 5 top-10 finishes and a win last year, I have every expectation that I'll be picking him for a few events this year. But Bucket A is always full of hard choices.
On 1/12/2018 at 5:51 AM, CroakHunter said:I felt guilty for not picking Jacob Wheeler in group a because he was the only one I seen that's from indiana like me.
You know, one could pick Wheeler automatically for each event no matter what bucket he is in and probably be happy with the results by years end. There are a handful of guys who you could do this with.
In 2016, I kept kicking myself after each event for not picking Jordan Lee. So in 2017, I would choose him first and then see if there was anyone else in the bucket that I felt forced to choose over him. Luckily I kept him for the Classic...

The hype is freaking real, best of luck to all of you. I'm so ready for another season. Lowkey I've spent all winter looking at the nice jigs I won from @buzzed bait last year. Kinda boring tbh
Uh oh, I just saw this online

Just in case there is someone who didn't understand the joke, let me clear Glenn's name. Neither he nor Bass Resource were offering any Circuit City giftcards to the Fantasy Fishing winners, I made that up on a whim last year. So much for using a company that was out of business & wouldn't come back. Thank heavens I didn't say it was from Kenny Rogers Roasters, turns out they have a bunch of restaurants still all through Asia.
However, I wouldn't doubt the news that Glenn is considering offering lifetime film developing from Fotomat for the overall winner...

Maybe we should just say there is no actual prize, other than bragging rights.
It was a good joke while it lasted.

I might have to try this out. Bailed on fantasy football a while back, but this might be something interesting. When do you have to register by?
I doubt Service Merchandise will be back....

Before the first event next month. Go to Bassmaster.com and click on the Fantasy Fishing tab for all the info.
31 joined up now more than 3 weeks before the first event. We appear have the 10th most members by this point of any group on bassmaster fantasy, and the 2nd most of any private group (behind "Beat Ronnie Moore").
J. Lee
Lefebre
Mullins
Poche
Sumrall
For those who are new to this group, you're more than welcome to release your picks before the event BUT there's a lot of fun tension that builds up through the season as rivalries increase and we try to dethrone specific people. So keep it in mind that you may want to wait until the tournament starts to release your lineup. But do whatever you want to
I'm in!
These prizes are incredible, who do I fax my picks to?!
In all seriousness this sounds like fun, I'm in.
In again this year fun to have a group of people to battle with, people at work look at me like I’m crazy when I try to explain this and that’s from fantasy football guys
I'm in!!
I won fantasy football this year. Watch out ladies!
I'm also in.
Good luck to everyone!!

I like how you implied that we are not normal people.
I'm in from the opening gun this year.
Joined yesterday. Good luck all and have fun. I really hope I win the circuit city gift card. I really need a new laser disc player.
Guys, the response for this has been great this year. We're up to 46 guys so far and still a few weeks to go. I look forward to everything this season will bring.

Ok so my first year ever doing this but have played other fantasy sports, my question is does your team change for each event or do you basically pick your anglers for the year?

Change for each event
Sweet. Thank you
I'm in as well. Pretty much picking Fletcher Shryock each week for my lineup. I've watched 2 seasons of MLF so far and watched him clean up when a lot of the competition couldn't even get bites on their own home water.
What about the FLW league - anyone in that one too? Scott Martin is a value pick for their first event on Okeechobee.

I know a few of the guys play FLW, but we don't have a group on there. I know they run their league a little different. Giving users "fake money" and putting a price tag on each angler.

I joined it this year . I recognize very few names . I jumped all over Scott Martin when I saw his low buying price fishing his home lake . I dont understand how they rate the anglers over their yet .
do you guys follow what they say in the articles for each tournie, or go by your own judgement and knowledge?
On 1/17/2018 at 6:25 AM, Senko lover said:There's nothing more embarrassing than trying to explain fantasy fishing to normal people
I keep asking my co workers if they have been doing their research for their fantasy fishing team, I keep telling them the first event is getting close...they just look at me like I'm nuts, I don't think they believe its real.
On 1/24/2018 at 10:00 PM, Mr. Aquarium said:do you guys follow what they say in the articles for each tournie, or go by your own judgement and knowledge?
I dont . Last year I pretty much picked my favorite anglers and did pretty bad . This year there will be a reason for each one picked but I'm not going to research much .
yea im still a rookie at the fantasy fishing, i usually forget about it when fishing seasons come around but thats after i do crappie. i follow the advice giving but i still am not to confident on who to pick.
when do these articles start popping up? I've read here, or in last year's thread, about the pundit's picks. I assume that's straight on the fantasy site, but haven't seen anything there just yet.
they are there now
The joy of the fantasy fishing is you can pick whoever you want. It's your fantasy. Live it.
If you want to pick your favorite angler from each bucket because you like their personality or sponsors, do it.
If you want to research articles on Bassmaster.com, do it.
If you want to research past tournaments on the lake and how anglers did, do it.
If you want to research the type of lake/river, water clarity, what stage the fish are in, how they're caught, etc. then pick the anglers who excel in those situations, do it.
So many things can happen on any given weekend on the water. Some lakes cater to shallow water fishermen, others to deep water, some to sight fishing, some to graph reading, some to docks, some to open water, some to flipping, some to cranking. Some guys have won a tournament on a lake last time there, and don't even make the cut the next time around. Last year a certain someone didn't even finish top 100 on Okeechobee and he went on to win AOY.
I got a question. This is the 1st year I'm playing on 2 FF leagues. BR and TW. Can I set up two lineups or does the lineup I pick for one league have to be the same for the other league?
On 1/25/2018 at 1:39 AM, Gundog said:I got a question. This is the 1st year I'm playing on 2 FF leagues. BR and TW. Can I set up two lineups or does the lineup I pick for one league have to be the same for the other league?
Yes, but you'll need to have two different log in accounts. I have one Bassmaster FF account, and I play two leagues with my lineup.
I've never really been that into FLW as an organization or their fantasy fishing. I find the website is annoying and 10% of the anglers dominate 90% of the competition (okay, maybe not quite that bad but you probably know what I'm talking about.)
If you're looking for strategies when picking a roster, considering the following:
-Styles of fishing used at the venue for this time of year (Lake Martin is gonna be jigs, jerk baits, and shakeyheads most likely. That's the only free advice I'll give you)
-People who are good at these styles of fishing.
-People who have home advantage at the lake or similar lakes (which doesn't always help and is a gamble)
-People with a proven track record of consistently ranking in the top 50
-People who don't have a high ownership
If you can find someone who completes all of these things, then that's probably about as close as you're going to get to a "safe" bet.
I don't always include all of those factors, but they cross my mind for each player. Sometimes I rely heavily on previous experience and dig up old tournaments held on the lake. I've even gone so far as to go through the entire tournament history of each angler in each roster and look at their performance on a particular lake/region. But sometimes it hurts you to rely heavily on stats and history. That's when you need a good feel for the people who are going to be in the AOY race, the people who are fishing out of their mind. Jump on their train before they blow up and you'll be rewarded. Other times you pick a star studded player on their home lake and end up in the 90s or 100s. That's the name of the game.
Fantasy fishing is a lot of percentages, a lot of guesswork, a lot of snubs or blessings from Lady Luck, but most of all a lot of fun .
For the last two years I did an analysis ahead of each event, using statistics I could find, like overall angler career success, lake history, how far the angler lived from the lake, recent success, pundit picks, and such, to see what sorts of information predicted fantasy points week-to-week, and and by how much.
What I found was that none of these things were very predictive at all. Only two variables I looked at were significant predictors most weeks, and they did not account for much:
(1) an average of the percent of total career events with top 10 finishes and top 20 finishes (A crude measure of overall career success) -- anglers with a better history of high finishes tend to net more fantasy points. If you think that sounds stupidly obvious...well, you're right. And much of this is already baked into the buckets.
(2) fantasy ownership percentage -- the more fantasy owners who pick the angler, the more points they tend to earn. Of course, the more popular your team members are, the less you stand out in competition.
The Pundit picks, on the other hand, contributed nothing at all -- you could outperform the pundits pretty often just by taking the guy in each bucket with the highest ownership percentage.
In other words, there is no silver bullet. I haven't figured out a way to quantify things like "style of fishing" or "prior success on similar lakes", but I can at least say with confidence that there is no obvious set of easily-defined factors to point to that give a clear edge.
I'm in!

A. Mark Daniels (I've met him and he's a real nice guy)
B. Jonathon VanDam
C. Marty Robinson
D. Cliff Crochet
E. Caleb Sumrall
Good luck everyone! ????
Any chance as a collective group for those that would want to participate in donating as little as one fishing item to a pot for a winner take all? If so it wouldn’t be mandatory by any means, but the only kicker would be that the winner posts a pic or two of their loot. @fishballer06 would you be willing to take the donations and hold them until the end?
Being new to this I have a few questions. Are these tournaments televised? If so, what channel? Otherwise, how do I keep up with the stats?
There's been a change to my lineup. Jonathon VanDam was replaced by Randy Howell and Caleb Sumrall was replaced by Wesley Strader. I've been watching MLF on the Outdoor channel. Howell and Strader are fun to watch.

The idea came up last year about doing it this year and it's gambling so that's a no go.

They're televised, but I don't think live. A couple months later I think, but I'm probably wrong. You can go to bassmaster.com and watch it live there, read the basstrak weight estimates throughout the day, and your team is automatically updated with the poi ts and standings at the end of each tournament day.
Sorry for bringing it up, I guess I’ve never thought about it as gambling since it isn’t a requirement for each player to donate. Rules are rules and I understand that.

No need to be sorry.
I have one more question involving the tie breaker. What's an example of a reasonable guesstimation for a total weight for an event? Not asking what y'all put for yours. I've never done this before and I don't want to guess too high or too low.

I look at previous weights from tourneys on the same water , them make a guess .

As stated, its against the website rules and I feel it would add too much competition. There's a reason why we have 65 members and growing in this group and I feel it's because everyone likes the laid back atmosphere and shooting the bull with everyone on here.
I'm still working with the moderators trying to get them to kick in some gift cards. We've been discussing places like Circuit City, Ames, Blockbuster, and HH Gregg.

Usually between 55 and 95 pounds. This one will be on the lower end of the spectrum.

The bassmaster website has live coverage Fri-Sun. They put cameras in the 6 boats that are leading and rotate the action between them. My favorite thing to watch. Even when I'm fishing i'll have the coverage on and listen thru my headphones.
:Looks like a Bama lineup
Tick, Tock...
Less than 48 hours to go.
I hemmed, I hawed, I swapped some in, swapped some out, but I think I'm all set.
In the end, my team is.....well, not the most risky or insightful choices, i must say, but I'm happy with them.
Hoping for an uneventful Friday morning so I can put Bassmaster Live on in my office at work.
It is very cold here. And there is much snow.

According to Bassmaster.com says Live starts at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
I'm sticking with my original team . Bucket A and B my anglers have less than 1 per cent ownership .
So do our lineups change from tournament to tournament or do they stay locked in all season?

Yeah I'm ready. Made a few swaps in my lineup the other day. I'm pretty satisfied with my team for now. Hope I'm able to watch some of it on my phone. Good luck everyone! ????

Less than 48 hours to go.
I hemmed, I hawed, I swapped some in, swapped some out, but I think I'm all set.
In the end, my team is.....well, not the most risky or insightful choices, i must say, but I'm happy with them.
Hoping for an uneventful Friday morning so I can put Bassmaster Live on in my office at work.
It is very cold here. And there is much snow.
Same here. Usually, I try to avoid the "This is a home lake for this guy, so he should know what's up" thought process, but there's so many Alabama anglers that it is pretty hard to not pick guys from there.
I'm sticking with Fletcher Schryock for the early part of the season - just like something about the way he doesn't get locked into one technique or type of situation he's looking for.
Lee/Howell/Schryock/Horton/Strader - although I was really tempted to swap Bobby Lane in after he had such a good tournament last week.
My team:
A - Jacob Wheeler
B - Jesse Wiggins
C - Mike McClelland
D - Alton Jones Jr.
E - Boyd Duckett
My Wife's team:
A - Ott Defoe
B - Mike Iaconelli
C - Paul Mueller
D - Brian Snowden
E - Wesley Strader
I went with
Wheeler
Elam
Powroznik
Hite
Fukae
Good luck fellas!
I got:
Wheeler: one of the best anglers in the world, fished out of his mind last year and low ownership.
Jaye: local stick, grew up fishing Martin
Tharp: Loves jig fishing, came out swinging with a jig for the season opener last year on Cherokee when everyone else was fishing the little fluke rig.
Vinson: Also grew up fishing Martin
Shryock: I'm really stoked to see Hunter join his brother on the elites, one of my favorite anglers. He's really good; we'll see how he does against the most stacked field in the world.
Not my usual lineup but we'll see how it goes. It's far too early in the day to be worrying about the basstrakk standings.
My guys to watch out for/almost picked were:
McClelland, Kriet, Hank Cherry, Steve Kennedy and Dave Lefebre.
Joined, but late. I'll have to sit this one out. Nothing like starting out from behind
Wheeler, Iaconelli, Herren, Hite, Fukae

Says you! Takahiro's leading the tournament right now, so at least for the time being, I'm getting some enjoyment out of this.
I got Wheeler, Howell, J. Lucas, Horton (last minute change), and Chris Lane.
At 2:30 basstrak has 4 out of 5 of my guys in the top 27. The one exception is Palaniuk who appears to be taking an elite poop on day 1.
Oof, not a good start.
Yeah buddies!! Here we go again. Anything can happen in this 1st go round. I had...
Matt Lee
Jordan Lee
Justin Lucas
Timmy Horton
Chris lane.
Well I'm pretty pleased with Day 1 on Lake Martin. 2 of my guys are in the top 20 and all of my guys are in the top 53. Not a bad start for my first time doing this. I just might keep the same lineup for the whole thing. Good luck everyone in Day 2 tomorrow! ????
My team is Mark Daniels Jr., Justin Lucas, Brett Hite, Randy Howell and Wesley Strader.

One thing about Wheelers bad first day is that he never seems to mail it in the following day. (Palanuik is like that as well). He may not make the cut, but I will be shocked if he doesn't move up at least 35 spots tomorrow.
Dohhhhhhhhhh............ #72
I hate to say it but Senko Lover has the lowest score I ever seen .
Well to say day 1 could've went better is an understatement of epic proportion. But.... I'm not dead last. Hoping the hometown guys come on strong tomorrow
Not a good first day for me...
Swindle - 31
Kennedy - 50
McClelland - 24
Poche - 60
C. Lane - 67
On a plus note, we've got 80 members in this! That's awesome guys.
Ouch! 65th place among BR, 22% overall...

I just saw that, 4 of his 5 picks are in the 90's. I don't think any of us could do that if we tried!!
What I think is most amazing is that Kyle does a great job analyzing the tourney & anglers. I doubt that anyone here does more research than him, and logically, he makes good choices. Heck, after I read his earlier post, I started doubting MY choices. Turns out my only real bad one was the one we both chose, Jacob Wheeler.
I'd bet my BR membership that he is in the 90's percentile by years end.
The margins between top positions and the bottom is very slim. Day 2 will see a lot of changes
I understand it is just day one of the 1st event of the year on an unfamiliar (to most) fishery in cold weather, but...
It is interesting that the top 6 bags came from lower buckets. Bucket D had 1st & 2nd, Bucket C had 3rd, Bucket B had 4th & 5th while Bucket E had 6th. It doesn't often fall out that way, albeit it won't be surprising if things change a bunch tomorrow.
Justin Lucas is the only one that saved me at 12. The middle of the pack is so close to each other in weight its crazy. Tomorrow could see a big shake up.
Before I went to work yesterday I checked basstrack and had 3 anglers if the top 50 and one was in first with a fast limit. I get back and only one in the top 50 and that first place angler still had the same weight and out of the top fifty .

Today could be a big shake up, the field is pretty tight.
I don't know which was worse, looking at bass master last night after work or logging in to you guys roasting me for my utterly dismal failure of a day one this morning looking back through my performance over the last two years....I think yesterday is my worst day of fantasy ever. Hey, I guess it can only get better from here (?).
Looking at your team - I dunno what's up with Wheeler - he's not doing anything today according to live tracker. Expected more from him - almost drafted him myself.

that's fishing, man. He'll be back. I think last year I would have been down about it but I'm honestly too busy to worry about fantasy this year so it is what it is .
Ike better have some McNuggets stashed somewhere on his boat. Drawing a blank today as well.
Well, I guess even Jacob Wheeler has days on the water like the kind I have.
According Basstrakk, my team is being pulled off the absolute bottom by BHite and Shin, who are unofficially in the the top 12 right now....with the other three below 80th. It showed Ike with no fish in the boat a moment ago. Now updated with 1. Herren with three dinks so far, going 3lb, Wheeler with two...yikes.

Exactly - it's like I'm pond fishing out there - dinkfest. If they're not on largemouth, it's just a grind for 2lb spots. Wish I would have believed the hype and gone with Omori or Fukae.

I've got J. Lee Howell and Horton - I'm holding hope on Horton - he's only got 3 fish, but they're pretty decent ones for 8.5 total. If he finds 2 more like what he's got, he'd be in the 12+ range.

I heard someone on Live before the break say Horton has a 5lber in there.
Meanwhile, hilariously, basstrakk lists Mark Davis with a 5 fish limit going 3-2.

yea thats not bad 3 fish 8.5. hope he did catch that 5. its still anyones game tho
here's hoping they call this one soon. All 5 appear to be making the cut right now according to Basstrakk updates.
I keep wishing there was bad cell signal on this lake so that I could update BASSTrakk at the end of the day and all my guys killed it
We're just here to spread the love, Kyle!
No hard feelings.
After a dismal day 1, I believe day 2 for me was worse. J Lee was the only person to move up for me, and sumral (my highest points getter) has fell way off. Oh well this is super fun for my first year and we're two days in

Yeah, and I don't see Jordan Lee making it - he's inside the cut at the moment, but Ott, and KVD, and Shryock #2 all might bump him out.
I had a much, much better day. If Wheeler hadn't bombed I would be in pretty good shape.

Top 51 for Saturday
Top 12 for Sunday
I'm very pleased with Day 2. Day 1 had my team all within the top 53. Day 2 has them all in the top 25. I feel pretty good that they'll make the top 12 cut tomorrow, as long as they keep doing what they're doing. Wish I could keep up better with watching it. Only the weigh in was live yesterday and my signal sucked so I couldn't watch it. I kept up with the leaderboard though. Today I was working during all of it and tomorrow will be the same. I was happy to see the leaderboard results today when I got home from work. My team had moved up decently. Hope I get to watch Sunday. Good luck tomorrow everyone! ????
P.S. I'm ranked #3 in the BR group. Yay!
I have 3 that made the cut.
3 in the cut for me too: Ike, Hite, & Fukae.
The top 5 teams in the BR group all have one angler in common and it's actually not Takahiro: It's Justin Lucas.

Welcome to the 500 club . Thats how I started last year then won the next tourney at Okeechobee because I picked Horton . Then it was all down hill from there .
Ole timmy Horton let me down. Oh well, Jacob Wheeler was bigger bust. Should light a fire under his ass for next tournament...however Ive followed that train of thought before and got burnt so it isnt always a safe bet
J. lee

Well I really aced that one...Wheeler leaped from 97th to 95th. Too bad this isn't a 20 day tournament, then he would have a chance at making the cut. This is a real shock to me, there is no way I saw this coming.
On a different note, my wife has entered this year as well. Since the only thing she knows about the Elite series is that Skeet Reese has a cool truck, what I do is make 2 choices for each bucket, the top one for me and I recommend the #2 for her. So what happens? I have Wheeler bomb and 3 in the cut while she hits all 5 into the cut. She even did a victory dance in front of me when she saw she had more points than me so far.

None of my guys made it which means I get a head start on digging up some straight fire for the classic
Who has anglers with the live cameras today ?That makes it a lot more fun watching . I dont have one .
Guess I’ll have a big learning curve here but sure is fun anyways
I forgot the tournament was this weekend lol. My picks are the ones I first put in, before I do any research, except I forgot to go back and do the research
Whom ever CeCole , has a chance to win a bunch of prizes . Hes only 1 point down on most of the groups that are giving merchandise . Good luck tomorrow and a great team you selected .

I think the top prize is a $500 BPS gift card or $1000 if you're a member of Bassmaster. I'd take it. I'll be rooting for Luke Clausen and CeCole (whoever that is) tomorrow.

After tomorrow's Day 4, how will things work for the next tournament event? Will the same anglers be involved or do we get a whole new group of anglers to choose from? ????
i have Montgomery and Lucas so ill see what happens tomorrow
i joined the group and i made 11th so far. i am stoked
Holy smokes, CeCole, way to nail it. Very close to a prize. And Clausen and Hawk are separated by 3 oz.

This is my second year doing this and I think the second year BR has had a group. Nobody got a prize last year that I'm aware of.
Clausen is over Hawk by 4 ounces according to bass Track giving him a one ounce lead .
CeCole cant win the total event , hes 3rd and has the same top three as the leader, so hes shut out .He can win the group prizes still like Tackle warehouse and others .
It is getting closer to that time where we are biting nails at the scales. lol last year I missed the first two tournaments and was behind only a few hundred. This year I am hoping and keeping my fingers crossed.
Congrats to CeCole no matter how the finals fall out. His will be the highest finish of any BR group member yet. Kyle (Senko lover) is waiting to become old enough to legally collect the prize before he submits a winning lineup, so now he is just messing with us and trying to pick a group where everyone is in 90th or worse.
BTW, winning the event is worth a $2500 Bass Pro card, $3000 if you are a B.A.S.S. member. Last year, 2nd place in each event won a GoPro, but I don't see that in this years event.
Of course, that is in addition to the 8 track player that Glenn is handing out to each event winner this year...

dude the winnings are rolling in. I got a helicopter lure from Roland Martin, a banjo minnow from Overstock Tackle, a Blockbuckster gift card, a Disney Princess rod and reel from zebco, and I hear Jacob Wheeler is sending me the big L he got this week too
edit: @OCdockskipper I forgot; I'll have you know that for 2015 Guntersville I had like 4 in the top 6 and came so close to winning that I actually left my prize groups because I wasn't legally allowed to win them lol
Way to go Tak!
Tak killed it! Unreal he caught a fish that broke him off the day before on a different crank and still had the other one stuck in his mouth.
Congratulations to Takahiro Omori on his wire-to-wire victory! Congrats are also in order to Cecole for a truly phenomenal entry and topping our group this week. Good luck not picking Casey Ashley in the classic and let's see how we do on the big championship.

Team bombed it Tharp, Wheeler and lefeber all tanked. Rolled the dice on shin figured he might do ok since flw had been there and rolled with Rojas. Think next elite full field might roll with all west coast anglers
Nice start for me. Of all people KVD sunk me.
Had no luck. Only guy who made it to last day was J. Lucas. 58th out of 85 ain't good. Did worst over at TW.

I reluctantly got in last year thinking it silly , then enjoyed the heck out of it .The live broadcast is great , especially if one of my anglers is in it .
I think Bass could do better with the announcers . They need a good play by play man and less color commentators .
I made the top 10 so I'm happy.
Glad to be part of the Bass Resource team as it's fun to take a look at who picked who and where they finished.
I needed Ott Defoe to have 2 more ounces so he could make the final day.

Part of me wants to pick conservatively for the Classic to help me climb out of this hole a little bit. But honestly, that's really boring. I'm finding some cool stuff and I think I'll have a fairly unique roster. I don't fish to make cuts and I'm not starting now. Go big or go home
however, I will regret not picking Casey. I had him for the last classic on hartwell, which I believe was my first fantasy event and he obviously won the whole thing.

i grew up with ryan and he has fished tournaments since 12.
him and Dustin Lippe are killer together but if you put them in separate boats it is a small town race to win.
On first pass, just eyeballing the choices (will probably change before the event):
A: Martens
B: DeFoe
C: Elam
D: Clausen
E: Hartman
"Time remaining: 31 days"
Ugh.
While I was looking at The Classic field I noticed one particular angler. Stanley Sypeck Jr. is from Sugarloaf, PA. Not too far from me. He qualified by winning a Northern Open on Onieda. Cool to have someone local in the big show. Hope he does well.

We had one somewhat nearby about 10+ years ago... I actually got my first ever stereo from there in the late 90's, but it has since closed, and I became a Best Buy before closing again. Not sure what it is now, or if there are any more around here. I'd have to google lol.

How do you sleep at night? ????
I am not as open as some of you when it comes to revealing what anglers I have selected prior to each tournament starting. Then again, with my performance this past tournament, it is highly doubtful anyone would poach my choices... .
In fact, I don't even look at anyone elses choices when they openly list them prior to the tournament. Not that I don't respect others opinions, but I look at it as kind of "dock talk", that I may find myself influenced into choosing someone not based on my evaluation, but based on someone elses ideas. That would be like fishing someone elses spot...

The only reason I do it is because most people dont . Nobody gives a hoot who I select .
A whole freaking month to wait. My lineup is going to change on a daily rate with this long of a wait. I'm going kind of safe with this one but not with some of the obvious picks that are out there. I like how the pools got broken up this tournament. Should make it another fun one.
Just signed up. Looking forward to trying this for the first time.
welcome and enjoy
Well who's everybody picking other than Casey Ashley for the Classic? I took BMP, Defoe, Howell, Connell, and Hartman. I think it'll give me another solid finish.

Palaniuk , Defoe , Combs , Bertrand , Hartman . We have three the same .

I will probably regret this, but I'm not picking Casey Ashley. Looking hard at bobby lane though
Here is my team
Ehrler
Wheeler
Faircloth
Pirch
Hartman
I just don't think Ashley will repeat. And I have a gut feeling the grass king faircloth is due.
Everyone is picking Ashley so I figure if I have someone who finished above him it's going to be a huge gain in points.

I have also been thinking he could have a huge finish given the possible weather and time of year.
Casey Ashley
John Cox
Mike McClelland
Mark Daniels
Jamie Hartman
really considering ike tho
Can someone explain, in simpler terms, how the points and rankings work when selecting anglers? Ie: attached image.
How are these compiled, and how does correlate to team points?
Sorry for the newb question. I've never played before.
Edit: I do now see that the ranks and points appear to be overall power rankings of the anglers based on 1 event thus far on Lake Martin.
So do these correlate to my fantasy points at all or are points based solely off where they finish on these events day by day?
My main question, is that in many fantasy formats, there is a high risk high reward for certain players/anglers. So will picking a low chance angler do anything more than picking Casey Ashley (as an example)? Outside of the probability aspect.

Rank and points come from performance based on tournaments so far this season. As the season goes on they'll be cumulative across events but at this point these numbers refer only to the Lake Martin event -- rank is the final placement at finish, and points are calculated from rank backward: first place is 300 points, with subsequent places earning less points based on rank. Points drop by 5 per rank for 2nd through 5th place, 4 per rank for 6th through 10th, 3 per rank for 11th through 15th, and 2 per rank for every other placement.
EDIT: Your fantasy points each event will just be the sum of their points earned for that event based on where they place (plus any big fish bonus). Odds are somehow are baked into the buckets, so that the expected place finishes are lower for bucket A anglers than for Bucket E. But there is no points bonus for picking low-odds angler who places well; points are the same for each placement no matter what bucket the angler comes from
Yeah but , how did john Cox get in bucket B ? Shouldnt he be in E ?
On 3/8/2018 at 11:35 AM, scaleface said:Yeah but , how did john Cox get in bucket B ? Shouldnt he be in E ?
I think he's in Bucket B due to odds. If you check the Bassmaster Classic Odds publication, there are a lot of similarities between better odd anglers (A&B), middle range (C&D), and long shot anglers (E).
Most all long shot anglers in the publication are listed out in Bucket E... ????. I'm sure there's a reason. I just don't know it.
I don't know exactly how the odds are figured, but Cox is one of the very top FLW anglers and won the FLW event on Hartwell in 2016. Nice profile of him here:

I have my team entered and will be looking to crack the top 10 in our group. I am at 92.5 percentile but 11th in Bass Resource. Thank says a lot for the knowledge (or dumb luck) of this group.

I forget who I picked, but I commented on Jacob wheelers YouTube video and told him good luck and to whack em, so to All of you that picked him, if he does good...you're welcome lol
i have to go to a OIF OEF group today but thursday i take my wife out and friday.......BAM IT IS ON!!!!!
I think this is where I'm leaving it:
Martens
J Lee
Faircloth
Pace
Hartman
But man - group B is a tough one. Really debating swing Lee over to Wheeler, Swindle or Reese.
my list after a few switches nd switch back is
ashley
J Lee
M Lee
Connell
Ryan Butler THE ROOKIE
This is really tough, I've changed a few of my pics a couple of different times. The way the conditions seem to be setting up it's wide open.
Pauliniuk
Defoe
Combs
Bertrand
Hartman

Mainly just the weather. It's been fairly cold but is warming pretty quickly and will throughout the tournament. Based on what they're saying fish are wanting to move and aren't really grouped up anywhere. There are fish deep and shallow but it's pretty scattered.
As Ott Defoe said yesterday "the bass are confused".

For fantasy purposes, what I really want to know is whether by saying that, Ott was actually saying "i'm confused"...
If the bass are confused, Ott is a pretty good pick. If Ott is confused, not so much
I posted my team right after martin, a month ago. I have now changed 4 of the 5 slots, some of them multiple times. I think I'm set, but I'm gonna have to think about it before going to bed tonight.
https://www.bassmaster.com/news/bass-are-everywhere-and-nowhere
This right here is likely to make me make one big change to my lineup.
dont over think it. i do that and kick my self every time almost.
don't over think it? for us newbies, ignorance is bliss.
Well there's this nugget I found on the ol' YouTube rabbit hole.
so Ashely got a time penalty for showing late from practice. dont know if i should change it is 38 minutes
A. Bobby Lane
B. John Cox
C. James Elam
D. Luke Clausen
E. Marty Giddens.
Fun fact: I’ve done a lot of stalking and looking at past tournament results over the last two years of this. I’ve never seen a non-elite resume as stacked as Marty Giddens. He has a phenomenal record all across the country.
Another fun fact: I’ve been keeping an eye on Bobby Lane’s classic record for the last few years. There was no way I wouldn’t have him on my team this year. Look up his stats in the classic.
Let the games begin!!

A Lane

C Faircloth
D Connell
E Hartman
See how these boys shake out today
Ehler
Defoe
Faircloth
Daniels
Hartman
A. Bobby Lane
B. Jordan Lee
C. Keith Combs
D. Mark Daniels
E. Jamie Hartman
I got Ashley, Defoe, Howell, Cherry and hometown hero Sypeck.
River rats wiggins and defoe had zeros. Wiggins suddenly with 5. Suggests he was out of cell range up a river....likely why Defoe shows zero.
i was looking at basstrak and i am kinda wondering how Ott, Casey and Skeet got stuck at the tail end here....
i know Ashley had a time loss penalty for being late but Hmmmm...
Losing 40 minutes of the blueback herring bite may have sunk Ashley's hope for a repeat

If they had one fish then I would be worried . At zero fish ,like Montanaro said , there is a good chance they are out of cel phone reach . I have Defoe and my fingers crossed hoping that is the case .
As I was typing this DeFoe just checked in with one but its a three and a half lber .
Bobby lane with only one so far too.
Ashley
Defoe
Connell
Howell
Hartman
Defoe registered with a couple 3 pounders. Looks like he was going for the big bite in morning. Didnt quite work out. Hope he has a solid backup pattern
Aaron Martens
Edwin Evers
James Elam
Jason Williamson
Rick Morris
Good luck fellas!
Ok, here's my picks and their current estimates as of 2 PM on day 1.
Ashley - 24
Defoe - 11
Crews - 39
Cherry - 27
Hartman - 10
Here's mine:
A - Bobby Lane
B - Jacob Wheeler
C - James Elam
D - Cliff Pace
E - Jamie Hartman
According to Basstrak, I am looking good. 4 of them are in the top 18, with Elam #1 and Wheeler #3. As usual, the one pick I wasn't worried about (Lane) is the one struggling.
If Elam holds on o the top spot today, that will be 4 straight days of Classic competition where I had the end of day leader (I was fortunate to have both Ehrler & Lee last year).
I have
Christie
Wheeler
Faircloth
Daniels
Hartman
Currently kicking myself because I did a last minute swap of Elam last night.....

Looks like we were thinking the same for buckets A & C, hopefully you didn't put the Kyle jinx on Bobby Lane
super excited my buddy Ryan Butler is slowly moving up. he is at 29 right now. had to put him in my list cause being child hood friends means a lot where i come from. lol
My anglers and unofficial rank as of 2:45pm
Ashley - 26
Wheeler - 5
McClelland - 33
Wiggins - 21
Hartman - 13
Ashley-26
J Lee - 4
M Lee - 10
Connell - 7
R Butler - 29

Me too. Here was my team a month (!) ago:
That would be, as of this moment, 1st, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th.
Instead I have 4th, 8th, 9th, 29th, and (gulp) 49th.
Oh well, it's early yet.

According to basstrakk.
Ive got 4 in top 12 before weigh in. Faircloth not far back. Hard to tell what tomorrow brings, especially with tight weights. A pattern may blossom or die in a heartbeat this time of year. The "assault" pattern may be the only given.
i am hoping that Ashley gets a fatty
Bobby looks to have repeated from 2 yrs ago with only 4 fish. I dropped Brent last night smh
James Elam might salavage my team. I’ll see what tomorrow brings. Honestly waaaaay too busy to even think about bassmaster today
Edit: Haven’t seen BASSTrakk this bad in a while ????

Well, so far, both Marty and Bobby's bags together don't match 1st place. Glad I didn't make that last minute change I was thinking.
What happened to Skeet Reese? Did he fish at all today? Looks more like a DNS? I wasn't able to tune in much.
On 3/17/2018 at 7:09 AM, Senko lover said:Edit: Haven’t seen BASSTrakk this bad in a while ????
Haha I was thinking the same thing!
Day one is in the books. Here's how my guys did:
Ashley - 14th
Defoe - 5th
Crews - 22nd
Cherry - 32nd
Hartman - 10th
My line up
Christie
Wheeler
Crews
Cherry
Morris
My first two are doing great, hopefully Cherry can come around.
Me:
Martens - 17th (w/ 2lb penalty)
J Lee - 3rd
Faircloth - 33rd
Pace - 21st
Hartman - 10th
I need A-mart and Pace to step up tomorrow!
Got three in the top 10 which includes Christie. I really thought Hackney would do good.
Ive got 4 in top 10 and Im still not ranked high in leaderboards....thats the problem with the classic. Need to basically pick 5 of the top 8 to win anything.

Ouch!! I hope that doesn't cost you the BPS prize.
Great picks though, congrats
I haven't been able to watch a day of Live for a long time, so I'm thoroughly enjoying this day even though my team is tanking. To be fair, I probably shouldn't put any stock in what I'm seeing, because BASSTrakk is more like BSTrakk this week.
@OCdockskipper It appears the Kyle curse is a real thing.
BASSTRAK was good for me cause ryan went from 26 to 18 i am stoked. for some it is good and some it is bad. i have noticed it just gives you hope andit makes you mad at the same time.

Honestly my first picks I made a month ago and that I tweaked were..
Ehrlers
Evers
Elam
Daniels
Hartman
Should have left well alone lol
Id love it if basstrak was correct. Micah Frazier in 4th!? Wheeler in 7th. Got both of them
Hartman blew it...weighed in 7 pounds
Way to go Christie....i knew he would do solid. Last few years he has put a lot of effort into winning a classic and now he is in the cat birds seat.
On 3/17/2018 at 11:02 PM, scaleface said:According to Basstrakk Combs first keeper weighed three ounces .
What was even more amazing was it was 23 inches long. It looked like a piece of spaghetti...
How many anglers fish tomorrow?
25 i believe
I have Fieder,Matt Lee and Palaniuk moving on. My other 2 were Wiggins and Hartman. Hartman had it and tanked.
Yep Hartman sunk me as well. Got Ott, Palaniuk, and Connell moving on with Howell one spot out of that 25 cut.
I've got Wheeler, Ashley, and McClelland still fishing.
Sigh. Man, do I ever feel like an idiot for swapping out Martens and Elam for Lane and Combs.
That settles it! Next event I'm going Pure Gut -- no research whatsoever!
Nice to see Swindle in the mix on the last day.

Personally I've been done with Lane since last season. Won't pick him again. I picked him last tournament thinking the slump could possibly carry over. Wrong.

Well, he's much more reliable event-to-event than his brother, he won the Kissimmee open a couple months ago, has a great record at the classic, including the previous two at hartwell, and mode most of the top 50 cuts last year as well as a few top 10s (including the Conroe classic).

Are you getting the 2 mixed up. Chris is the one who's been in major slump since last year.
I have Ehrler and Jordan Lee
I have Elam and Cox fishing today, neither of whom seem to be doing all that well.
Looks like it's going to tight. It'll be an interesting weigh-in. Especially with how accurate BassTrakk has been ????
Tough to watch Christenson struggle so much today.
Today I was driving to Galveston and have not seen anything about what is going on. I checked the bastrak before weigh in but that is tuff to go by guess i will wait to see what happens. I did see the lee brothers are on top.

If you had Bobby then yes lol. When you said you were disappointed in picking Lane, I assumed Chris. Which Lane he had wasn't specified.
Could Jordan Lee really go back to back???
Huge congrats to Jordan!!
Wow what a classic!
crazy!
Back to back for Jordan Lee!
Back to back for Jordan Lee!! What a wild finish.
One of the best days of Live that I’ve ever seen.
That was awesome! Huge props to Jordan Lee.. but I was pulling for Brent ehlher or matt Lee.. tough one for Christie as well.. great derby
Ended up with Lee, Martens and Pace paying off pretty decently today - esp with all 3 having <10% ownership percentages. Jordan was 5% ownership? That was too good to pass up.
Hartman tanked me, and Faircloth was picked based on a couple of pundit picks. My 2 highest owned pros are the ones that didn't make the cut.
Yeah I went ehlher, wheeler, matt Lee, Connell, and Hartman..
I had my hopes up for a bit, but that's how it goes..
This is my first time playing any kind of fantasy thing so idk exactly how it all works.. I just know someone always picks better than I do!
Not quite dead last in the group anymore, but I've still got one heck of a hole to climb out of to stay competitive for the season.
This was my line up for Lake Hartwell. Only one of them that really had a chance to finish first was Ashley and he couldn't do it. Oh well I'll be ready for the next tournament. My points are still looking pretty good. Looking forward to picking the winner of the next one. Praying I do anyways...lol. ????
Next up is the Sabine River . I'll have my picks in as soon as they become available . Look at the map of Orange Texas . Canals , backwaters , horseshoe bends... Its going to be a different tourney , thats for sure .
21st place this time. A giant step up from the last one. Moral victory lol

It's going to be really different since Louisiana waters are off limits.
Sabine river picks are in . My team is loaded with shallow water river rats who have done well here before . I'll probably wind up near the bottom again . I suck at this .

I went from tied for last to 81st. Huge hill for me as well since I didn't get my picks in time for the Lake Martin event.
The nice thing is that the anglers are all spread out through the buckets. You can pick up some serious steals in D and E.
I am going to try to change our culture and share my picks early
A. Adrian Avena: A versatile competitor who has a nack for cashing checks and is a solid flipper
B. Mark Daniels Jr.: Dude is a stud and has the right mentality and eye to find that hidden spot.
C. Gerald Spohrer: River rat who is due for a solid finish...lots of backwater fishing success. Almost picked Mcclelland for similar reasons.
D. Bill Lowen: Understands current and is a limit getter
E. Randal Tharp: Proven heavy grass flipper, frogger, chatterbaiter.
Faircloth
Hackney
Crews
Rook
Grigsby
Hanselman
Hackney
J Pow
Lowen
Benton
some reason these guys stuck out to me so I picked them.
Always amazed at the number of pro anglers that come out of Alabama. Hard to not pick a roster that is mostly made up of Alabamians.
I thought of Grigsby...if the bass are on beds
At first glance:
A | Todd Faircloth Jasper, TX | -
B | Greg Hackney Gonzales, LA | -
C | Mike McClelland Bella Vista, AR | -
D | Gerald Swindle Warrior, AL | -
E | Keith Combs Huntington, TX |
Combs has placed in the money 64 out of 80 tourneys . That means he can catch then anywhere . Heres how my luck goes . I picked him in the first two events and he wasnt even close . This time he will probably win it , being I didnt choose him for a third straight event .
Hmm. This one is harder than it looked at first. Still splitting hairs over a few spots, but here's what I have at the moment:
A: Rojas
B: Martens
C: Crews
D: KVD
E: Tharp
But I also really like the picks of Daniels (B), McClelland (C), and Grigsby (E) mentioned above.
Well, looks like Sabine is being postponed due to rising water forecast. No clear date yet for when the tourney will start - might be next week, could be longer.
Also - Mark Davis is out for the season to have a hip replacement done.
i have a team set but i am waiting till the last couple days for any changes or thoughts on some guys.
With high and presumably muddy water , I'm tempted to replace Grigsby but then he would finish in the top 10 . Every time i change an angler that happens , so I'm sticking with him .
Looks like it won’t happen at all this week. Orange is also canceling the river festival as well. My brother in Tyler, Tx has been getting pounded. Good call by bass

My entire roster had changed .
i am keeping mine the same as well.
A. Elam
B. Christie
C. Evers
D. Palaniuk
E. Tharp
Cant go wrong with all the stud Oklahoma boys.
Palaniuk 1. Has good history on Grand 2. Does well triangulating bass which is KEY at this time of season and 3. Is on a hot streak
And Tharp? Tharp is a helluva stick and should cash a check

Same as my picks, except for E...I'm going with Alton Sr.
He also has a good history on grand, and frequently punches above his ownership level.
Litner
Reese
B Lane
Morris
Combs
I'm expecting the shallow , power anglers to do good .

Right from his website he said 5 broken ribs, concussion, and a separated shoulder. He'll be out a while. Lucky he's alive.
Bassmaster Clausen stores some of his tackle in the loft of a close friend's shop. He went to get some gear he planned to use at Kentucky Lake. "Next thing I know I'm waking up on the shop floor," he said. "I don't know if I was laying there for 30 seconds or 30 minutes. I don't really remember how it happened."

He's had a curse on him ever since he switched to B.A.S.S.
My lineup
A: Litner
B; Reese
C: B Lane
D: Morris
E: Combs
A: Connell
B: M Lee
C: Lester
D: Palaniuk
E: Wheeler
I think I'm playing too safe with Palaniuk and Wheeler - But in Group D I'm not sure who else I'd pick that has a lower owned percentage. Swapping him w/ Swindle is probably a wash - Sumrall might be a good swap though.
For Wheeler - I just like the way the guy switches gears when he needs to. But that 40%+ own rate is bugging me. Feider, Tharp, Combs - all land in the money better than 60% of the time. Tommy Biffle on a shallow water bite? Man - I might have to make a change there.
so true i am not a wheeler kinda person but he does amp up
I want to take Wheeler but I just can't stand him. So I went with Combs and his big bass ability.
Connell
Ehrler
Evers
J Lee
Combs
Man it seems like it's been forever since we've done this.
So I rolled with...
Litner
Ehrler
Evers
Herren
Tharp
My lineup:
Elam
Martens
Kennedy
Lefebre
Wheeler
My wife's lineup:
Defoe
Ehrler
Evers
Swindle

I've been so busy at work I thought today was Wednesday. Big goose egg for me this week! ????
I went with some of the favorites this event. I need to pick up some points to stay competitive, so I needed some sure picks. I hate going with the heavy favorite/locals pick, but it is what it is.
My picks and their estimated ranking as of 12:30 on day one.
Elam - 88 (only 3 fish)
Christie - 71
Evers - 62
Palaniuk - 41
Feider - 13
I did the exact same thing.
Elam
Christie
Jordan Lee
Evers
Wheeler
easily the most “stacked” roster I’ve had. Not killing it but they doing aight
If my team performs worse today i will be joining the 500 point club .
My boys did good stuff yesterday. ????
except Jason Christie. Was talking to Ronnie Moore about him yesterday. He’s had a lot of heartbreakers over the last year. Feel bad for him.

My lineup for the next event. It would be nice to get into 1st place in our group, but at least I'm hanging close in 2nd. Maybe this will be the event for me. Good luck everyone. I've been so busy at work lately haven't had a lot of spare time for much. What little time I do have I try to get out and fish. Not much happening for me there. Something's gotta give eventually.

i hd a poor weekend too but i had j lee and he went to the end. in our group i am 6th.
I'm really curious how the KY lake tournament is going to go. It's such a popular ledge lake with a strong offshore bite. However with the spawn in effect, it could be a totally different ball game.
Roy
Defoe

ky lake is going to be interesting. christie has a fire this year and i think kvd is holding tight.
I posted on the tournament thread that there is a 250 boat tourney going on along with the Elites 2 out of the four days. Might be interesting. I'll bet there's going to be a lot of upset anglers on both sides, a lot of accusations of stealing spots, and maybe even some name calling LOL. Could be interesting.

I have always thought highly of Christie's skill & determination, but the past 2 plus years have given him a few major punches to the gut. 2016, leads the Classic into the final day by 5 lbs only to have Evers go off with a 29 lb bag. 2017 loses AOY by a small margin with his worst finish being on a lake he had won on before (Dardanelle). 2018 Classic replicates 2016, except he falls down instead of someone else excelling.
I was concerned about where his head would be at before Grand, so I didn't choose him. I still think those near misses are gnawing on him daily, I believe he will have to do something spectacular to shake it off. Once he does, look out, there will be no way of holding him back.
I think Christie is in a similar position Edwin Evers was a few years back. Successful but missing either an AOY or Classic and then experiencing a series of near misses of those in a short window. When it happened to Evers, he stumbled for a few months, until finally he came back with the big bag at Havasu & a 3rd place finish, out-sprinted KVD at Kentucky lake for a win and then went back-to-back by winning on the St. Lawrence river. I believe that tremendous run removed any demons that had moved to his frontal cortex and paved the way for his Classic victory the following March.

so true. i was starting to get into the B.A.S.S thing and watching. i thought evers was getting shafted but those fish. but it always has ups and downs.

should be interesting to see how high i can go......
I think a few boats dont have marshalls
Evers and mullins with no fish on Kentucky Lake? Doubtful
i was reading on the main page anad they were saying that the signal to reach boats is spotty and in some spots not at all
Day one....meh, could be worse:
Hite -- 68
KVD -- 47
Wheeler -- 20
Christie -- 5
Combs -- 72
I tried to go with pure value per bucket while so many top guys are still spread out, ignoring ownership (which it turns out is almost exactly the same as directly picking highest ownership).
I at least I had nobody catastrophically tank yet, for once. Lets see if that holds up...
williamson tanked it on me but i was kinda ify on him. everyone else did good and okay.
Im so sick...was a hair away from picking Shaw....i knew it was spawn time and Shaw is undisputed best sight fisherman. Pick Horton instead and he just hasnt got into any big onrs
It looks like a lot of guys who caught them yesterday aren't catching them today. The leaderboard is changing.
I had a much better day.
Aaron Martens 10th
Gerald Swindle 19th
Edwin Evers 5th
Stephen Kennedy 81st
Keith Combs 32nd
Still 2 days to go though.
Some improvement overall, with 4 in the cut:
Hite: 68 --> 47
KVD: 47 --> 54
Wheeler: 20 --> 30
Christie: 5 --> 4
Combs: 72 --> 32

KVD is the only one . LOL . This sport is crazy .
Clunn didnt even show up to the weigh in . Thats the third time in two years . Twice last year I picked him and he didnt even show up . I think its time for him to retire .

yeah, isn't that just perfect? It seems Kentucky Lake, but not Grand, was the event to pick Christie and Evers, while Grand, but not Kentucky, was the event to pick KVD.
bradley roy- 17
jordan lee - 12
j wheeler - 30
christie - 4
jason williamson- 97
A. Martin 10th
KVD 54th
E. Evers 5th
B. Lane 7th
K. Combs 32nd
Not a bad roster. KVD was a bit disappointing but I think most people had him as a pick so we all lost. Evers was a no-brainer because of his previous finishes on Kentucky Lake. I picked Martin because I thought the tourney was going to be won by someone who could do both power fishing and finesse fishing.
Kvd and evers both have outstanding records on Ky Lake. Had both of them.
Mcdaniels stumbled and Horton didnt do much. I took a punt on Mullins with a solid hx on TVA lakes figuring he would be one of those top 12 underdogs...wrong!
Im starting to learn that you have to play the hot hand and take your losses as they come just like gambling
Thats it for me . 921 points . I did have four anglers make the 1st cut . I predict next tourney Senko Lover surpasses me . I should not have made fun of him after the first tourney . Karma , LOL
i have three in the top 25 today. but i think it goes to top 15 witch means just christie.

Top 12 is the cut for tomorrow actually. Which stinks because I had Ott and he missed the cut by one freakin ounce!
Bobby Lane was my only one to make it to the final day. We'll see how it goes.
Up next is Travis lake which is a clear, deep highland reservoir . I'm mostly staying clear of the deep water finesse anglers and going with the power fishermen . I cant do any worse .

Yeah and that's accurate as this is a Catch Weigh Release tourney. That's a nice fish! Basstrak is not going to be "Fake News" this tournament.
Oh man a 10 pounder on a clear water post spawn lake?!
A quick rundown of the weigh ts suggest a lot of 2 and 3 pounders being caught. This could be a heavy weight fight...
I know its way early...but Ive got 3 in top 4....feels good while it lasts
I had Ehrler and Lee in the Classic (finished #1 and #2) aside from that I've been doing bad!
A. Lucas
B. J. Lee
C. Ashley

Looking as mediocre as ever out of the gate today, but we'll see.
Did pretty well.
I seriously thought about picking the three Japanese guys on tour. Would have been a good choice but no better today than what i have
Yikes. Worst first day ever for me. I have 571 points. My best pick is Williamson in Bucket E in 63rd place. Absolutely dreadful.
roy ended the day in 38th
micah frazier was my biggest worry but not to bad at 24th.
i am hoping jordan lee has a few hot spots for tomorrow.
bobby lane made me happy.
1065 for the day back in 4th place with our group.
i dont even want to talk about klein...... ugh
Doing a lot better than the last 2 tourneys, currently showing 4 in top 50. It would be nice if Casey Ashley decided to wet his line today though.
17th, 21st, 27th, 49th, and.....102nd.
Can't seem to avoid having at least one guy absolutely bomb.
so
B lane is holding in the top five so far.

i have one in the cut and that is lane.
3 of mine made it to day 3 and then there was none.
I've got 3 guys in the top 10 right now. Things are looking up for me.
I ended up with 3 guys in the top 7 this tournament. Now if I can do that the rest of the year, I should be right back up there at the top of the group.
I had Benton in my group (who got first place) but my other 4 anglers all placed in the 60's. C'mon
Thoughts on Sabine coming up? Some buddies and I just started a group. Thinking about throwing Chapman in bucket A. New to fantasy fishing, need some advice.
A. MDJ: Cal Delta veteran who is fishing great this year.
B. Jordan Lee...nuff said
C. Faircloth, history and experience.
D. Micah Frazier, good shallow water fisherman who did well in '15.
E. Scroggins, good hx on the Sabine and excellent shallow water fisherman
A. Bobby Lane - the guy knows how to catch big fish and he can catch them shallow
B. Cliff Crochet - he's local and pretty successful on river systems
C. Keith Combs - Texas boy can catch em
D. Robbie Latuso - my dark horse for this event. LA boy with success on river systems
E. Dave Lefebre - he's had a tough year, and he's due to have a good tournament

I've picked Crews a few times in the past. The guy is usually one of the last few guys to get a check, but he does well enough to make that happen.
I do fantasy fishing with the mindset of winning a prize during 1 tournament. Therefore an angler who averages 50th place does me no good. Maybe I will try that strategy next year

Ha I'd much rather take a turd floating in the punch bowl than the overflowing porta potty that's fully engulfed in flames that makes up my line up! ????
Major dink fest. I thought they said this fishery was as hot as it's been for a long time? I guess getting past the dinks to get to the big fish is harder than it seems.
You would think that they'd pick a better body of water with all the great fisheries in Texas.. I get not wanting to fish the same lakes ( fork, Rayburn etc..) but there must be a better option than this swamp.. seems pretty frustrating for the anglers.. and us fans..
People complain all the time that these guys dont fish difficult fisheries and go to places anyone can catch 20 pounds. "I'd like to see how well they would do on my lake; I would smoke them" is a common refrain.
This goes to show that they have the skill and mental toughness to grind a dinkfest and still haul in limits.

It's all about the money. The Orange county tourism dept pays a bunch of money to BASS to be the host. The fans turn out huge which is appealing to the sponsors.
Been at the beach catching bigger fish than bass so pardon me for not being on here
I got:
A. Jacob Wheeler: my boy, I pick him almost every time. One of the best in the game right now with both consistency
and winning.
B. Jordan Lee: see #1
C. Seth Feider: saved bucket C for me cause I didn't like my options except him
D. Micah Frazier: I remember watching him fish his first elite series event here on the Sabine River in 2015. Rookie fresh out of college and he calmly flipped his way to a top 12 alongside the likes of Rick Clunn (or was it Shaw Grigsby?) and Chris Lane. He had a great year then and has been quiet since but I like him a lot.
E. Hunter Shryock: Surprised he still hasn't done great yet but he's a very talented angler and likes river fishing.
I didn't intentionally pick just young guys but that's what I came up with. Day one wasn't great but I think a lot of people tanked so I shot up the leaderboard a little bit (for me, at least). I'll probably come down after today though. BASSTrakk is too close for me to really take stock in it but looks like they didn't do too well.

Great points by both of you. At the end of the day it's money (hence why they favor certain fisheries and venues like Lake Hartwell/Greenville) but they also do fish tough tournaments a lot.
I have one angler in first and two in the top 10 . Also have the one in dead last and two in the bottom 10 . Sheesh !

At the beginning of the year, I was toying with a strategy of choosing Wheeler & Lee for every tournament. They have been so consistently good that it seemingly would take the risk out of trying to catch lightning in a bottle. The only down side was that they are often fan favorites, so their percentages are real high, making it tougher to someday pick that overall winning lineup. So I decided against it.
Today, not only did both of these young guns miss the cut, they finished in 103rd & 93rd respectively. Ouch. Chris Lane pulled off something few have ever done, finishing 1st on a body of water and then on the return trip, finishing dead last. Oh well, he is still averaging $50,000 in winnings per visit...
Unlike most tournaments where points are often picked up or lost based on the choices made in the D or E buckets, I think the A bucket will be decisive this time. Normally, you really have to try to find a bad pick in A, but this week you had Wheeler (19%) and Christie (17%) finishing in the bottom 15 with Hackney (19%) currently leading. That could be a 200+ point swing among the favorites in the "easiest" bucket of them all. Had Hackney held on to both big bass & largest bag (both topped today by Kennedy & Mosley respectively), you would have had another 80 points added on top of that.
It has been an odd year, most every angler has at least 1 or 2 bombs & we are only 1/2 way through...
I'm making a decent push up the leader board with Hackney and Kennedy, plus 2 others inside the 50 cut. Unfortunately I also have Elam who has had a rough tournament, he's been a really solid pick for a while now.
Crews actually doing well.
I considered kennedy and a couple others doing well. I really didnt see Jordan Lee or Scroggins choking. I thought they were top 50 locks. At least i dont have chris lane!!!
I did well on the first day but the second day dropped me down big time. Most of my guys fell in the standings. The only constant was Hackney.
Even though I had Wheeler and it sucks for me he was DQ'd kudos to him for being honest and calling in on himself. Pretty stand up guy, I've always thought that, even more so now.
This is how bad I bombed..... Ike made the cut and hopefully will today too. My other four 93 or worse! ????
What did wheeler do? Fish on someones "property"?
On 6/9/2018 at 11:02 PM, Montanaro said:What did wheeler do? Fish on someones "property"?
I heard he grounded his boat , I guess got stuck and had the marshal get out .
I actually enjoy watching this tournament better than the slug fest they usually have .
Marshal must stay in boat at all times? Makes theoretical sense
I had high hopes for this one, but it will end up being my second worst week. I had only Martens and Rojas fishing today. they're out of the projected cut for tomorrow at the moment, although I don't really trust any rankings below about the top 5, they're so tight.
Scroggins, it seems, drew the short straw to be my mandatory bottom-20 bomb this week.
On 6/10/2018 at 12:15 AM, Montanaro said:Marshal must stay in boat at all times? Makes theoretical sense
From the Bassmaster website, quoting Trip Wheldon:
“This is a violation of Rule C13 reading ‘Marshals are not allowed to help the pro in any way.’ This results in disqualification of Day 2.”

I had Chris Lane my reasoning for my god awful picks were because I remembered at 5:30 Thursday morning I hadn't set my lineup. I picked Chris Lane because if I remember correctly he won there last time and it seems like he was the only one who could really put together a pattern.

Yeah, I had him for Okeechobee last year, thinking he'd be a slam dunk with a long history of wins and top 10s there....and he finished 103rd. Then I looked more closely at his overall record, and he's really all over the place: Boom or bust.
Hackney - 1
Evers - 58
Hanselman - 23
Matt Lee - 71
Lefebre - 62
I didn't have a great event but having the leader through 3 days sure helped my score. Hopefully Hack can hold out 1 more day.
Chris Lane had a really hot streak for a few years but his last couple of seasons have been really tough.
I had 3 make the 50 cut, and Kennedy is on my roster, but Wheeler and Kriet killed my team. I know what happened to Wheels, but was expecting a bit better from Kriet.
I'm surprised that Swindle had too many fish in the livewell. These guys live by the rules and a infraction like that doesn't seem to happen that often. Guess it was just a brainfart.
This tournament seems to be a ish show for just about everyone - anglers and fantasy nerds alike
I had nobody in the final 13. ????????????????
Congratulations Greg Hackney, wire to wire.

I would be in good shape if Williamson could have just caught a limit.
I spent a lot of time looking at the E bucket, thinking Lefebre was due to break out of his funk, that Hunter Shryrock may be getting used to the Elites as they head to the northern waters that he is accustomed to. Instead, I chose Jason Williamson because he had 3 cashes in the first 5 events.
I think it is safe to say Jason will have now have 3 cashes in the first 6 events.
Ott Defoe (83rd)
Seth Fieder (73rd)
Randy Howell (42nd)
Caleb Sumrall (25th)
Dave Lefebre (4th)
Sigh...jwill...
Otherwise id have over 1k points for this event
This is the third time I picked Williamson in two years and he has yet to cash . I really struggle picking bucket E .

well i got 998 today and ready for tomorrow. Wheeler 9th and Roy 26th....
Not an angler in the top 12. I think if I threw fishsticks at a board I'd have better picks.
Its good to see Gary Klein in the top 12. I'm rooting for him to win it all.
i had klein last tourney and got the boot. i wish i took him this week i was ify on him. i got wheeler in 4th right now. biffle is a big name in la crosse and i went with him and did 89th. i was ticked.
so ish takes the win...... well then...
Congratulations Ish! On to Oahe starting this friday.
so I may have done alright on that one ???? one of the better tournaments I’ve had in a long while
A. Justin Lucas
B. Jacob Wheeler
C. Jordan Lee
D. Ish Monroe
E. Hunter Shryock

Good tourney and nice selection with Ish .
On to Oahe
???? Pirch
????Daniels
???? J. Lee
???? JVD
???? R. Lane
I was completely shocked to see Ish win. I followed the whole tournament up until about 2 PM on Sunday and I thought for sure that JPow or Tharp was going to win it. Woke up this morning and saw that Ish won and I was shocked. Congrats to him though. I know it's been a few years for him.

I had the same reaction, I knew he made the top 12 but he wasn't on my radar to win.
This next one will be a little harder to pick, I doubt anyone has fished this lake before, other than pre-practice.
I think Lake Oahe is gonna be a game changer for the fantasy league. Its an unknown lake with no pro tournaments on it that I know of. So how do you call it? By type of bass? Its a smallmouth lake. Do you take the classic smallmouth fishermen or do you go with the pros who come from that area (I think there are only 2)? Gonna be fun.

Yeah - really up in the air on these. Even the pundits are kinda shrugging.
I'm sticking with:
a) Wheeler (maybe changing to Strader or Ashley - KVD is a sure bet, but for the points, I'm staying away)
b) Feider (maybe switching to Faircloth)
c) Elam (or Combs)
d) Hunter Shryock (but looking really close at Dustin Connell)
e) Williamson? You could really throw a dart at the top half of that category. Would like to see Horton have a good outing.
A. Ott
B. Hawk
C. Combs
D. Connell
E. Williamson
This event is going to be anyone's guess. I tried to stick with smallmouth/river guys. The main river channel of this lake is over 100' deep.
KVD
Feider
Avena
JVD
Walker
Side note - in the three years I've been doing fantasy, I think this is the first time I've ever picked KVD.
I selected five anglers I never picked before . They all have had good finishes in northern lakes .
I was totally thrown off by this tournament being Friday to Monday. I just logged in to check BassTrak and realized this...

I just read on Bassmaster that the cell service is virtually non existent on the majority of the lake, so Bass Live might suck and BassTrak probably will too.
This is a tough one. I've made my pics but I don't feel very confident about them. ????
Martens
Ehrler
Elam
A. Jones
Schultz
Word on the street is only 50 or so marshals showed up so BassTrak is going to be useless and with the extremely poor cell service the weigh-ins will be entertaining like they should be.
How in the world does Jonathan VanDam spend 3 days practicing on a smallmouth lake and then come to the scales with 3 keepers weighing under 4 lbs total?
i was wondering the the heck was going on.

An overwhelming majority of people did. Myself included ????
I didnt pick a team....
Couldnt do any worse than the other weeks.....
I can't remember watching a weigh in and seeing more anglers with frustrated looks on their faces than today. Hopefully the wind will lay down some tomorrow.
I have:
A. Wheeler
B. Seth Feider
C. Jordan Lee
D. Matt Lee
E. Russ Lane
Pretty good tournament so far
i went with
A-Lucas
B-Christie
C-Elam
D-Jones SR
E-walker
no complants here..
Of course the one time I forget to pick a team, my boy MDJ who I have relied on all season, is leading....when it rains it pours
i think it is crazy how unreliable the Basstrax is this tourney. i know there is only 50 but i think half of those left...
Three in the cut, nobody yet cracking the top 20: Ott (47), Connell (32), and Williamson (24).
One who missed the cut by a few ounces: Combs (61)
And (sigh) one bottom-15 bomb: Hawk (92)
So: on pace for basically the same outcome I've had in every other event this season, no matter what strategy I use, or whether I use any strategy at all.
I thought I had gotten pretty good at this after finishing in a mid-90s percentile overall last year....Lol, nope!
At Sabine I had the first and last place angler . Here I have the last place and as right now the first place . I keep cancelling out my good picks with lousy picks .
The only one on my team that has any kind of a chance of winning is Mark Daniels Jr. He's currently the weight leader. Not too worried about the rest of my team. The closest one to first is in 28th place, Dave Lefebre I think is the one that's in that place. Rest of my team consists of Randy Howell, Aaron Martens and David Walker.
Hope nobody had Josh Douglas. Dude tanked his entire FLW season this weekend with a DQ.
My Oahe team has crashed and burned....I think I have 796 points.
I had and dropped both Bertrand and Fukae as my picks. Overthought it too much.
Got three fishing this weekend and two in the top twelve going into today.
Are there any weekly prizes? I have a team in the 99.95% as of today.

Not on this site . Are you in ant others ?
On 7/1/2018 at 9:47 PM, scaleface said:Not on this site . Are you in ant others ?
I'm only on the bassmasters site in several of the groups.
This is the type of tourney I enjoy . Much more interesting than the slug fest going on right now in the FLW . I'm pulling for Fritz , even though hes not on my team . Hes Carolina rigging and fishing a lipless in deep water , which is my style of fishing . Too bad hes out of cel range , I'd like to watch him go at it .
I did have Josh Douglas...sigh
As for 99%...yes there are weekly prizes. Go to the group you are in and they will list the prizes available, including the bassmaster overall group. If you are first you win like a $1,000 gift card. 2nd is like 500. Others are gifts I believe.
Holy crap I just looked at my update an I'm in 60th for all of fantasy fwishing!
Lucas
Ehler
J.Lee
F.Shryock
These are who's left fishing today

I was Fritz's boat official on Day One at BassFest in May on Lake Travis. He spent the entire day doing those 2 techniques, he had a creature bait he was dragging around on a Carolina rig in 25 to 35 feet of water and occasionally would throw a big Berkley Warpig at those same fish. No fishing marinas or areas that had shade, no topwater at any time, no jerkbait, just those two things in that type of depth. Difference was he finished out of the cut by a decent margin at Travis and he is contending for a title here.
In choosing my team this week, I thought this lake may end up fishing similar to Havasu did in 2015 as far as smallmouth goes. I was kind of right, but goofed up in the angler choices. I chose Aaron Martens, which was dumb because AMart won on Havasu fishing the reeds for largemouth, which didn't apply here. I chose JVD who had big days 2 & 3 on Havasu, but it appears he must have just stumbled upon a spot on Havasu based on his horrible performance here. I had my wife choose John Murray, but Havasu was local knowledge for him, not smallmouth prowess. I ignored Casey Ashley, Justin Lucas & Dean Rojas, all who had top 12's at Havasu and are doing well here. Why? I dunno, I'm an idiot. I did take Ehler (13th at Havasu) and had my wife take Pirch (2nd at Havasu) & Evers (3rd at Havasu with big bag), all of whom are vying for a top 12 this week. I don't think it was logical to predict Daniels or Fritz to perform the way they have, so that doesn't bother me. I think I had the right strategy but I just executed poorly with some bad decisions
I do not give enough credit to Ashley, Bertrand or Roy, they are great anglers who often fly under the radar.
Lucas, Ehler, and Lee moving on for me. I finally have a decent showing.

You didnt pick JVD to mess it all up , did you ?
Only got Edwin Evers fishing on the last day. More terrible picks for me.
i have lucas. i was hoping that christie would have been better but i was wrong...

No, Ocamica. The thought crossed my mind to pick him though. Thankfully I didn't.
i have lucas but i dont see him winning this at all but i think h has maxed out his catch weight. 12 lbs he could catch 6th place but i dont see vary many 3 lbs in this lake.

Glenn always pays out Circuit City gift cards to the top 3 performers in our group at the end of the year.
i didnt know that was still circuit city open..

That's why Glenn is so generous with them. LOL
Congratulations to Mark Daniels Jr!
I had an ok week, Brent Ehrler salvaged my tournament with a top 12 finish.
Next one is July 26th at Chesapeake Bay.
Congrats to Mark Daniels Jr. He put on an amazing show.
Big congrats to Mark Daniels Jr., the only member of my team that made it to day 4 and he won! He's a very nice guy. I've picked him on my team almost every time he's on the list. I met him a couple years ago when I was working for Rat-L-Trap. He's part of the Pro Staff and came to see how we made the baits. ????
I had Daniels but better yet Cliff Pirch too ,who was worth 15 more points than Daniels . You would think the winner would have the most points . Last year I picked Horton who won at Okeechobee but Ott Defoe was the point winner because of the added bonus points .
I went from 60th place for all of Fantasy Fishy and ended up in 256th place for the tournament. I was pretty happy.
To be honest I've forgotten to set my team for two events this year because life has been so incredibly busy. I almost forgot about this one too. I remembered at the last minute and went through and looked for reliable brown bass guys and threw them on my team. I got lucky. LOL

I gave already picked for the Chesapeake Bay . I dont study much , just pick some guys who did well there last time .
???? Martens
???? Hackney
???? Lowen
???? Menendez
???? R. Lane
So far this year i am 0 for 4 in making a cut with guys named Lane . Lets see if the streak will end .

I don't really study much. I might ready a little and see what kind of color the primary fish is, like you who did well the last time IF the info. If easily found by that I mean one click, and finally which presentations tend to do well. I take all this info. and will still shoot from the hip and sit back and watch. Even after my algorithm is developed, and my hypothesis is proved or disproved, and I put every single odd in my favor from my very scientific way of selecting anglers I'm still bummed when I do poorly. ????
i am studying now. trying to win something in my other groups.
i have been trying to do my flw team for the forest wood and i am not getting anything. does anyone know when we should be able to. i am getting antsee, also ill be out of county when this happens.....

Good grief, the weights are crazy!
According to Basstrak, the top 38 guys are estimated to have 19 pounds. That's insane!!

Yeah, I usually take it with a grain of salt. I know guys like KVD, Palaniuk, and Feider are always super light on what they tell the marshall's.

It's going to take 20 lbs plus to make the 50 cut.
Prime example of my earlier comment. These guys are 2-3 pounds light on their BassTrak.
BassTrak Actual
KVD 19-8 22-3
Palaniuk 18-12 20-15
Feider 19-0 21-11
kinda feel sorry for those that took wheeler. i dont knw what happened but does not look to good today for him.
crazy weigh in weights.
Currently 7 bags over 25 pounds....
Brett Hite with a 6-12 lunker. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone breaks the 7 pound mark with a smallie.
50 at 20lbs with a few guys left to weigh in, insane.
My list is KVD, Feider, Lowan, JVD and Walker. The only one I was worried about was Walker.
Weigh in's for day 1 are over. The top 52 guys have over 20 pounds
Big fish is 6-12, big bag is 27-12....smallmouth!
I have:
Bertrand (4th after day 1)
Hackney (91st)
Jones Sr (19th)
Card (86th)
Schultz (81st)
Blecchh!!
My wife on the other hand:
Palaniuk (43rd)
Ehrler (20th)
Combs (6th)
Murray (15th)
Walker (2nd)
I'm trying to figure out how to swap our A bucket guys so she can have all 5 of her picks in the top 20. If Palaniuk can do a great day 2 turnaround like he did last year and and her other 4 hold serve, she just might be in the running for the event. Of course, I have the B.A.S.S. membership, so her win would be $2500 instead of $3K.
Day 2 should be interesting...
Uh oh! That's not the boat launch Fletcher!

He's thinking outside the box and fishing the sewers! Or the waypoints he bought from the locals said there were fish here. LOL
Haha!
On another note, here's where I stood after day 1. My E bracket is pulling me along!
KVD - 30
Feider - 34
Avena - 61
JVD - 39
Walker - 2
looks like i knida blew it with my picks. i only have palaniuk in the 30
Boy did my team flop today . Started out at about 850 , now barely in the 600's . If Alton Jones flounders tomorrow i will be joining the 500 club .
My team didn't do squat! I don't have anyone in the top 50. The closest I got was JVD in 51st place. Oh well guess there's next season. Unless somehow the tie breaker is still in effect for me. Don't think it works that way though.
Three fishing today -- MDJ, Palaniuk, Alton Sr.
...with Jon Vandam and Chris Groh juuuuust missing the cut at 51st and 52nd.
Have Walker and palinuck fishing again tomorrow. Evers, Mullins, and Lefebre all slid after day 1. Best since the classic I put together ha
i have palaniiuk also but that is all.....
Congratulations to Josh Bertrand! 95 lbs 3 oz of smallmouth!
I tanked this one. Got pushed back to about the 75th percentile. On to the next.
On 8/27/2018 at 4:38 AM, Jrob78 said:Congratulations to Josh Bertrand! 95 lbs 3 oz of smallmouth!
Agreed. That is a huge amount. Most tourneys that target largemouth don't get near that weight.
I did really well in this one. 94th percentile.
I had Walker and Feider fishing on Sunday, and then I had KVD who made it to Saturday.
I remember getting to fish up there as a kid. Caught a ton of smallmouth, largemouth, pike and perch. That is a beautiful place to fish, and the wooden boat museum in I believe it was Victoria, NY was really cool to visit as well. Hope to take my kids there one day to fish the St. Lawarence.

Sitting 2nd in the group right now with:
Lucas
Wheeler
Ehler
Tharp
Combs
Here's who I took and how they sit after day 1:
A. Martens - 9th
C. Ashley - 47th
B. Ehler - 7th
M. Frazier - 12th
D. Connell - 25th
I have a feeling this one's going to be a shootout. With the low weights, 2-3 pounds can jump you up significantly on the leaderboard.
I was thinking yesterday.....if there's a mass exodus to the PBT next years Elites/fantasy fishing is going to be full of names most of us have probably never heard of. Could be interesting or very frustrating.
I've been quite; trying not to jinx myself but I'm sitting in first hoping that my anglers pull thru and win my first fantasy season in anything. ????????

Maybe Glenn will also throw in a cassette tape or two. Ask for "The Best of ABBA". It has just one song on it, Fernando but they play it over and over.
I was hoping for a new betamax or laserdisc player to complete my man cave.
