Who is your favorite person to fish with?
I love fishing with my Grandpa, but if I had to choose anybody it would be my brother, because we learned (and are still learning) the ropes of bass fishing together. We really enjoy fishing together, trading lures, and exaggerating the size of the fish we catch.
Me, myself and I. So quiet and peaceful.
Don't get me wrong ... I enjoy my fishing buddies but nothing beats the peacefulness of fishing alone to me.
Yeah, I hear you. I enjoy that too. But I like fishing with someone who you can joke with and strike out with and land the catch of a lifetime with. After all, if your buddy wasn't there when you caught your PB, who would believe how big it was?
I know that you said one person, but I have two.I enjoy fishing with my son,and my grandson.I fish with a few other guys, but nothing is better than watching my son and his son bonding together, like me and my son did.
easily in a trio with my brother and dad....
aside from that i have a former co-worker that is now a very close friend. he and i fish every opportunity we can and i really feel like we challenge each other just right. we both have different strengths that helps the other one out...
I like fishing with my sons, but mostly one at a time, LOL.
Then there's my one fishing buddy, but we don't fish often
together anymore.
I go it alone 98% of the time simply because it is an enjoyable
escape for me, and the times I get out are not conducive to
other people with "normal" working/schooling hours.
I fish quite a bit by myself...especially now that I'm gettin a bit healther. I hook up the ol boat...ask the good Lord to join me and give me peace and off I go. I find that even though I enjoy fishing with others it's easy to be disapointed when you feel like you have to entertain or wait for them. Guess I'm gettin old and cranky!!
Tight Lines
My dad.
My Son. (See my avatar) When he catches one, it's better than me catching one.......And he's beating me in size on two types of fish this year. Haha.
My brother and best friend.
Definitely my dad... any chance I get
Used to be my Dad, but since he has passed on I still feel his presence in the boat when I fish alone 98% of the time.
I like fishing with my grandpa but I'll fish with anyone as long as I know them, they aren't a jerk, and they have common sense...
My dad when he was still alive. My favorite persons to fish with are guys that share the same level of intensity as I do. The more passionate they are about fishing the better. That way we all learn from each other.
Nothing beats fishing with Dad.
A guy in my bass club by the name of Alan Hall.
Great guy and a fantastic bass fisherman.
And his girl friend is a very nice person, too.
My wife.
These people.
My dog. He's a pain in the ass and is very good at telling me where the fish were, but he makes me laugh and he's more intense about watching the line than I am!
My life long fishing buddy Mike passed away a few years ago from ALS. I haven't found anyone to fill that gap since, and some of the guys I've fished with might think I'm nuts because I always retell fish stories beginning with "Mike and I used to....."

ditto.. peace
Believe it or not my wife. We have been fishing together for many years, how ever this year we have really stepped it up we fish at lease one to two evening a week when I get off work and just about ever Sunday.
One of the funny things is my wife always had two rods on the boat and made fun of me for having five on the boat.
Guess how many she has ready to go now, that's right five at any given time.
Big O, easily. I have learned so much from fishing with him, plus he's one heck of a fun guy to hang out with.
My older brother my mentor passed away. I miss fishing and hunting with him.
Now my oldest son and his wife take me fishing. Otherwise I go alone before I got sick. If I'm not with family I don't go lately.

I love fishing with my kids...but, I do also like the company of my fellow angling "peers".
My dad and my friend are my favorite people to fish with. Me and my friend really encourage each other and always help each other out. When I was young, I only used hard baits and he only used soft baits so we got each other into different techniques.
I haven't found one to replace my old buddy that passed back in the 90's. He's the one that got me into bass fishing and he was CRAZY !!!!!!!On 10/24/2014 at 9:58 PM, Felix77 said:Me, myself and I. So quiet and peaceful.

My partner of thirty years died suddenly some time ago. Since then I fish with a group of nice guys.
Myself
Me and my Maker.
My dad, my wife, and my dog.
My son. Trying to teach is hard. I'm not a teacher, not the most patient. But, I do try.
I mostly fish by myself but I enjoy fishing with my buddy. We challenge each other, get skunked together, catch our PB together. I would give anything to fish with my grandfather who passed away in 2006. I fish out of his old bass boat and I cant help but think of him everytime I go out in my boat.

I know your pain! Same thing happened to me.
1: My self
2: My son
3 My wife
4. My brother in law/Fishing Bro
I fish 98% of the time by myself which I do enjoy, but the most fun is having my son and grandson who is 8 with me. The little guy doesn't fish all that much yet, but he sure is entertaining watching him net fish for us and just his imagination keeps us entertained.
Any of my grandchildren. Their excitement is my reward.
I have brought up 2 boys around this sport. My oldest has moved out and has his own life going on but we still get out together a few times each year. My main partner for the last 7-8 yrs has been my youngest boy who is now 12. The boat never got wet without him in it. He got an x box for Christmas last year and now it's hard to get him out there. My Daughters ex-boyfriend fishes with me some also. He just completed his first year in club and won the AOY I think.
I fish by myself a lot too, and while I enjoy it, I terribly miss my youngest not being there. I've gotten so used to having him there and have so enjoyed watching him progress, and he was getting very very good for a kid his age. Hopefully he'll be back soon but I think I'm facing a lot of boat time alone next year.

Yup I still fish out of my grand dad's boat too. Me and my pop rescued it and restored it.
Hands down, it's my grandson. Despite his short attention span, unrefined skills, and indifference to instructions from your's truly, the level of excitement he brings with him makes every outing one that I can't help but cherish.

Fishing with young kids is the absolute most fun. That enthusiasm is potently contagious. I thank God every day out for that awesome experience!
I fished with my Dad off and on for 40 years. Now I fish with my daughter when she wants to come with me.
My wife just started fishing, and I have enjoyed her company. To be honest though, I like the time to think by myself. She's not going to be there every time, so I will enjoy fishing by myself or with her.
I fish mostly by myself for the same reasons others do: piece & quiet, but the best fishing I've had since being a child were the days fishing with my Daughter when she was little. She's now in high-school and spends her time dancing, swimming, and being a teenager (yeah, she does homework and makes her bed too!).
I occasionally fish with a friend from college - 30 years ago - but we both work two jobs and have family obligations, so it really ends up being just a couple times a year when our schedules cooperate.
Pops!
I mainly enjoy fishing by myself as then I can focus and not have to worry about anyone else. In saying that, I get the most satisfaction out of fishing with my girlfriend as she actually does enjoy fishing and fishes nearly as hard as I do when she's able to get out on the water. I don't mind tying up all her lures for her as seeing her face light up when a fish strikes is just priceless.

That's pretty cool. A couple of times when I've stayed at Sterling Lodge on the Rideau lakes chain there has been a woman who fishes out of an Alumacraft. She's properly hardcore and is out there at dawn and fishing through. Her husband goes up with her, but he's not as bothered about the fishing. He sometimes joins her later in the day. I always refer to her as "The next Mrs Kelly" when referring to her with the guys that go up there.
^^^^ This guy's one of my favorites to share a boat with. We don't catch anything, but have a great time. And when you do catch something, you get to hear, "Well that's a right and proper fish!" The English have their English down better than we do, lol.
May be coming over next July John. Anyone for English lessons? LOL
Awesome, Tim!
My wife by far. I'd give up ten hooksets just to se her catch one
My buddy Will is the best to fish with. I gather all the information from here and tell him what I've learned and he catches the bigger fish. Seems I'm a better coach than player.
