Now I know this won't apply to everyone because not everyone listens to music while fishing, and I enjoy peace and quiet as well, but on occasion I do enjoy a few tunes while out on the water. My favorite album to listen to would be the whole Stadium Arcadium album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was just curious to what you guys listen to while fishing! Fish on!!
Depends, but most of the time a classic rock station.
I like both kinds of music, Country & Western.
A little bit of everything.
Nothing there's no time for music or to even think.
It's me against the fish game on.

My favorite would probably have to be the music my reel makes when a big bass is peeling drag!
Countey, southern rock , rock, or classic rock. But most 98% of the time im enjoying the outdoors and all its sounds

That would be my answer exactly if the question was, "What do you listen to on your way to and from the lake". While I'm actually fishing, I don't listen to any.
Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, and Howard Stern.....
Depends sometimes.. Regardless of what i listen to it's awesome when your listenin to one of your favorite songs and and you hook up right at a good part. lol it's movie worthy when it happens
I don't rock out, but I do feel like having some music to listen to helps pass the time and keep me in a positive mood.
This year about half way through the season, during basketball practice we started letting our HS girls listen to music while doing drills. We found that their intensity level and focus seemed to actually go up. Music can be a point of focus and a system to release energy that otherwise may be kept inside.
I don't listen to anything while I'm fishing but usually on the way to fishing I'll be blasting old school hip hop (preferably Wu Tang) or heavy metal.
No music. Just the amazing sounds of nature all around.
This nature you guys talk about must include guys in outboards doing 70 mph across the lake, people in wave runners shooting donuts and people talking, LOL. That's usually what I hear when I am expecting silence.
Now, a tree stand, that is a different story.
The most beautiful music, the sounds of nature.
2 chains!
No music for me. It's all about having peace and quiet and enjoying the outdoors.
Most of the time like most of you guys its just me an mother nature. A bird singing, crickets chirping, frog croaking, fish jumping, and that sweet sound of my line flying into the water as I wrestle a big bass onto shore or a boat. BUT! On rare occassions on my kayak I will keep an ear bud in and listen to some music that soothes my soul when the lake is loud (rarely but it happens especially on the weekends) So I can tune out the other noise and focus on the lake. I'll listen to Moe., Phish, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, a vast majority. I don't really have one type of music I listen to though. I pretty much listen to everything those are just among my favorites.
I fish to relax though so while on some days I may listen to rap or heavier rock it isn't meant for the lake, sorry. Not for me anyways.

This always makes me think of the Blues Brothers! one of the best movies of all time!
My dad always wants to listen to music.. and in that case the best thing that can happen is GAP Band ZZ TOP or EW&F... lol..
when I am on my own or fishing with others.. I usually dont listen to music...
My favorite time to listen to music is on the way to a tournament. Usually ill listen to something upbeat to get me in the zone.
I listen to music when I'm fishing for cats. Bass fishing, I'm too concentrated for music.
I listen for the splashing of the fish and try to figure out if it was a bass, catfish, or a gar. I dont even listen to the radio in the truck... Guess I'm not a music person.
No music for me, I'm too concentrated on listening for signs of fish to listen to music. More than once I've heard fish breaking surface, chasing bait, that's turned a slow day around into a productive day.
I don't listening to anything while on the water. The sounds of being on the water is music to my ears. On the way to the lake though that's a different story, especially on the morning of a tournament. I've got a homemade CD that has mostly songs about fishing on it including two of Casey Ashley's best of "That's What I'm Fishing For" and "Fisherman" (if you haven't heard them and you're into fishing, YOU NEED TO). They help remind me to stay grounded. Also the cd has a good mix of country rock and even a little pop n hip hop. It all works together to help get me JACKED....like I really needed a reason other than fishing lol.
I like country and western and also a lot of Otis Redding and James Taylor
85% of the time I don't listen to music but occasionally I will listening to some classic country
The birds, tree frogs, crickets, squirrels and just the rustling of the leaves in the trees if you really listen that's real music. But that's just me.
Come to think of it I don't remember ever encounter a bass fisher on the water listening to music
I have a hearing condition called tinnitus which is a constant ringing in my ears. As a result, my love of music is limited to those times that it isn't contributing to the noise already in my head. Sadly, fishing isn't one of those times, otherwise it'd be jazz, classic rock and C&W in that order.
On Sirius Radio:
1. 60's
2. Pops
3. Symphony
Haggard
Black Sabbath to Bob Marley to Hank to Justin Timberlake. It depends on which of my girls is choosing the music. If I'm by myself it's old school hip hop like Orbit or Strafe.

Nope. No outboards on the reservoirs I fish. Electric only, so pretty quiet!
a little Whitechapel and Impending Doom to get the blood flowing in the morning. but nothing on the water
No music...why!!! I go to get away from "most of the sounds". Early morning and late eve's my favorite.
Used to fish lake Powell many years ago and if you want quiet that is the lake. You will hear nothing....I mean nothing when you are back in those canyons. It's almost erie. Once in awhile there was a little bird that would make this cool noise but not often. Beautiful place.
no recorded sounds while fishing thank you
I always use headphones when fishing ponds close to my neighborhood. it helps drown out the barking dogs! There is always a BARKING DOG. I actually listen to podcasts or a mixture of all music except heavy metal or rap.

The music of the spheres.

I listen to music all the time while fishing. With Pandora and blue tooth it is so easy with an unlimited amount of choices at your finger tips. I love it just loud enough for me and my fishing partner to enjoy, without imposing on others. When bank fishing I use ear buds to enjoy the experience. It helps me concentrate on my fishing. I never listen to the same music day after day.
I wonder if the ones apposed to music in the boat ride around all day in the truck with the windows down, listening to the road. I doubt it! But I do believe in everyone's freedom of choice. Each to their own!
If i didnt have to reload youtube everytime or i could find mp3 files, i like them fishin songs. Mike morazinni, casey ashley, the bait shop parody, etc. But i mostly listen to rock, the good stuff! Pantera, metallica and of course 5FDP. Im the guy headbangin while flippin docks.
I don't listen to anything out fishing. I like to hear the peace and quiet, but I also like to hear if the fish are jumping.

Plus a little Van Zant, Allman, Gibbons, or Stevie Ray!
I usually don't listen to music while fishing because I want to be keenly aware of everything around me, but on my way to the lake I am always blasting heavy metal. Pantera, Down, Lamb of God, Metallica, etc...
Me personally , I don't like music on the boat when I am by myself , but the family likes it when we are all together on the water , mostly southern rock and country music .
A radio is good to have on the boat for those questionable days when a storm is possible .
Haven't missed an episode of Howard Stern in probably 10+ years now. Sirius was a must have when I bought a new boat.

Exactly. The easiest way to get kicked off my boat is to say something like, "Hey, can we listen to some music? or "Hey, it's too quiet out here." Or to chat on your phone. Emergencies I get, everything else can wait.

*thumbs up* to the Wu-Tang Clan, greatest hip hop group ever, especially from early 90s to late 90s. I usually listen to them while packing for a fishing trip to smith mtn lake, if not them then its old 80s hair metal and the monster ballads...
as for while fishing, out on a boat, not typically unless my uncle gets bored and wants to listen to music while i fish. but when im back on the dock that night, catfishing and bait fishing for whatever wants to bite, then i will have the radio on playing classic rock, and then on saturday nights the classic rock station airs Dee Snyders House Of Hair from 10pm-12am and i typically turn it up and let it blast. caught some nice fish during House Of Hair. fish love classic rock and hair metal. ive tried changing over to hip hop while fishing and the bite dies.
i hear some creepy sounds at night while fishing and the music helps cover many of those up lol. i've felt spooked enough to call it a night early by some of the sounds, or having the feeling of being watched. or hearing something running on two legs and crashing through the woods, uh yeah, so i was really spooked at night that year...
None and I don't want to hear yours, either!!!!!!!

You must realize how well sound travels over water. It is very easy to hear conversations across the water. If you and your fishing partner can hear the music, so can a lot of other folks who may not share your taste in music.
I listen to a lot of music in my truck to and from the lake and all over but there is a time and place for everything. For me, the lake is is where it gets turned off.
I usually don't listen to music but if I do it's probably my Bob Marley or Slightly Stoopid Pandora stations. Don't wanna mess up my high maaaaaaaaaaaaaan

Boaters sometimes forget that when the boat is underway, conversation and music must be pumped-up to compete with motor noise.
While passengers just 6 feet apart are in a shouting match, you're 50 yards away and can hear every word clearly.
Then one of the guys hollers "WHAT?", now you've got to listen to the same speech again, this time at a higher decibel

I love music. I have a real nice surround sound in my house and some outside speaker on my back deck. I keep it turned down so my neighbors don't hear it. But I love to after a days work to come home have a cocktail and relaxe to some soft music. I even go down to New Orleans once or twice a year to hear some great music. But when I go out in nature then that's my music and I don't want to hear yours.

I have that too. Sometimes, it's so loud I can't hear the voices in my head.
My ipod goes from Bach to Slayer and everything between. But being a guitarist I tend to lean more towards guitar heavy music. Metallica, Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Slayer, Testament, Anthrax, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Zepplin, Hendrix, SRV, Django Reinhart, Chet Atkins, all sorts of stuff. But I love what they would call "shredders". Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Satriani, Tony MacAlpine, the list goes on and on. But I must admit, there is something awesome about listening to great classical composers while on the lake as the sun is coming up and hooking into one of them chunky green fish. Lol

I don't listen to music while fishing but not for the reasons already listed.... if i were to listen while fishing it would be on my iPhone. That same iPhone is my A. emergency tool should i need to call someone B. camera for my monster pigs i'm going to catch that day C. my weather source
that said, my battery dies too quickly while listening to music so it just doesn't work for me.
now if none of that were of any concern i'd be listening to anything and everything that i could find. Wu Tang, Garth Brooks, 311, Bob Marley, Hendrix, Tool, 2Pac, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Nas, Eric Church, the Roots, Stanton Warriors, Jason Aldean, Incubus, Daft Punk, the Black Keys .... i could go on and on and on.......
people like me with no music loyalty have got to LOVE pandora and other music streaming outlets like it......
My favorite fishing music is the birds. LOL that looks like something my wife would write. They are rather relaxing thought and keep me focused on the task at hand. I dont need to be dancing or head bobbing on the deck while fishing people would think I was "different".
The Grateful Dead of course!
The sound of "whip" as I set the hook on a monster bass!!! Other than that, no music.

On the way to the lake or river, I usually listen to metal like Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot and etc. Somedays, I'll listen to hiphop or dubstep such as Eminem to Yelawolf. Dubstep- Datsik to Skrillex.

too bad, you got no control over what others do on the water. you can get mad and tick and moan all you want. its your choice not to listen to music on your boat, but getting upset and making a douchey post about what others choose to do on their boat isnt going to stop it. seriously, who times ten's themselves. unbelievable. if i saw you on the lake, after reading the tone of your post, i would turn my music even louder just to tick you off

you may be there for nature, others may not. if someone is playing music and you dont want to hear it, then thats on you, its your hangup, leave, find another fishing spot. you dont own the lake and dont control what other people do on their boats, whether its a bass boat with other anglers, or a pontoon boat full of people partying makes no difference. some people enjoy their time on the water different than you, how you gonna expect people to respect the way you like to spend your time on the water when you dont respect the way they spend their time on the water?
a guess a world full of mutes would suit both of you just fine...
Rush, Metallica, or Incubus (which the bass prefer). And, if the time is right, I enjoy a Tigers game, or Lions (which the bass don't like).....
Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine on repeat until I catch a fish.
Then I move onto everything else by Floyd. Fish seem to like the acid inspired tunes!
Music while I'm fishing, of course not. I fish with my ears as well, always listening for fish busting on bait. Sight casting is more than just visual.

Last night I put on my Justin Moore station per a request from one of my buddies. It was fun for a bit, but I'm not going to do it regularly. I barely even listened so it was a waste. I'm more into listening to music while driving around to and from spots.
Sometimes I take my harmonica along and after a long day of fishing I sit by the campfire and play a few tunes that I learned from my Great Grandmother...
Don't sound to exciting ...
But it sure is relaxing and the kids seem to enjoy it
I try to keep "noise pollution" to a minimum when I am out on the water, and actually I do this for the most part every day no matter where I am, I don't like loud obnoxious people so I chose not to be one myself... If I do listen to music when fishing it is on headphones (usually country, Lionel Richie, CCR, 3 Dog Night...) so I don't bother or negatively effect the fishing and or anybody else's experience out on the water... Think of it this way, you are deer hunting on public land, and some guy brings a boom box out to the woods and jams out right next to your stand... is he doing something illegal? No... but is it still wrong? Yes... at least this is the way I think about it...

I enjoy the sounds of nature when I fishing. Any other time? I am usually jamming to Slayer, Ministry, etc...
Bob Marley always nice!
I'm a 100% real country music guy, my truck has a cassette player so that I can listen to my original George Straits and Alabamas, but my fishing music is a complete 180 from that. Favorite fishing song is definitely Intro by The XX, when I'm by myself anyways. Last summer I really liked Sail by AWOLNATION, Paradise by Coldplay, and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, they get me focused and in the zone. Crazy but it helps me image myself making the perfect cast and setting the hook on a monster every time.

That is very well said, without being even the least bit "douchey". More than can be said of the post you responded to.
I love music, and have been involved in it to some degree for many years. I would rather be slathered in honey and buried in an ant hill than have it on my boat though. With that said, I respect the right of others to listen to whatever they choose. It does show a lack of respect to inflict your music on the rest of the lake IMO. What is unbelievable to me is the notion that I can do whatever I want on my boat without regard for anyone other than myself. That self-serving and self-righteous attitude shows itself in many ways on the water. Loud music is only one of them.
none while fishing.
on the way i bump anything and everything but country
I usually don't listen to music but if I do it's ussually Mötley Crüe, Jimi Hendrix or tech n9ne!
When I'm fishing that is!
In the truck, I am a product of the 60's - Doors, Led Zep, etc. While on the boat I never listen to music. Too busy talking to myself.
String music.
None, it's just a distraction. My Harley came with a sound system I never used for the same reason.
I like keeping an earbud in at the lake, and i listen to:panic at the disco, fall out boy, we the kings, or mayday parade.
Any Zeppelin or Neil Young
I dont know how some of yall can get so upset by music, loud music. I put my phone volume on high and rock out haha. now jet ski's are too darn noisy n pesky.
I'm a bank fisherman and I like to put one earbud in and leave one ear free. I don't listen to music though, I listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
The places I fish at there's not a lot of powerboats so I've never seen people go by blasting music but if I did it would drive me crazy and make me not want to fish there.
There's something incredibly disrespectful about playing your music loud in a public place and forcing others to hear it. Doesn't matter if it's family friendly music or gangster rap either, it's still disrespectful. I like to listen to my music loud every one in a while and I do it at home or in the car sometimes but I turn it down when I'm stopped at intersection and I don't have a ridiculous subwoofer farting in my trunk.
Just don't act like an animal and show some common respect and courtesy to your fellow man.

maybe a bit of country.
complete silence unless I am with my friends ... they are talkers. LOL
I like Enya but my friend would through me of the boat. Lol. Really guess I don't listen to any music.
I feel like I would miss out on clues that would help me catch fish if I listened to music...We do sometimes have the radio on when we are fishing on our boat, it's not a bass fishing boat though haha, we fish the ocean and the bay (chesapeake) with it, half the time we are trolling so it's loud anyways
I'm not gonna lie, some of you guys act like fishing is your job. For me it is just about being out on the lake, relaxing and having a good time. I have had some very enjoyable days where no fish were caught, it was just nice to be on the lake, enjoy my brother's company, and explore a few creeks.
As for this relating to music, I do whatever I feel like. If somebody else is on the boat we just talk without music, but if I am by myself I will play music. Whenever I do play music I will put a hip-hop/rap pandora station. Nothing too loud so it doesn't bother anybody else, though.
Crappie like Disco... It's a long story...
If I'm listening to music, it isn't mine and I'm none too happy about it. Actually I'm quite amazed at how many here do listen to music while fishing. I have never once thought about listening to music while fishing. But, I'm even more amazed (and dismayed) by those that think its perfectly ok to inflict their music on others. On a lake....or anywhere else.....wow.

None, but not because I don't like music. In fact I usually have a song stuck in my head the entire time I am fishing.
I don't use earbuds because I want my ears available to hear everything else that is going on, from fishing revealing themselves to someone trying to get my attention for assistance. With even 1 earbud in, you are making yourself deaf to other sound from that direction.
I don't play music through speakers, even at a low level, because the vibration goes to the water, alerting the fish of your presence. Doesn't matter if it is built-in speakers in your boat or a small radio sitting on the deck, that creates additional vibrations.
I don't care if other people listen to music, but I do expect folks to show common courtesy. I am not trying to enforce my silence on you, please don't force me to listen to your music or meaningless conversation.
Worst example I witnessed of this was on Lake Mead a few years back. It was minutes after sunrise, the lake was like glass & I was on the main lake off a point fishing striper boils. I hear some music and it takes me about 30 seconds to figure out it is coming from a yellow boat that I can barely see, I'm guessing it was 2 miles away. It was some people skiing and as they get closer, the volume of the music they were playing was ridiculous. When they were about 200 yards away from me, it sounded like I was at a concert. At that distance, I could see they had some kind of "rollbar" across the top of the ski boat & there were 4 huge speakers mounted to it. Luckily, the person they were pulling was a good skier and didn't fall, so in a matter of minutes they were far enough uplake that I couldn't hear them anymore. I just wonder how many folks were asleep in their houseboats as Music Boat cruised by, waking them up and making them wonder what was disturbing the peace in this National Park.
No music on my boat. Ranger didn't come with it when I bought it, but if I did it would be just about anything since I listen to it all. Maybe some Metallica or Yelawolf or Josh Turner. However I have a huge list of wants for the boat and that's at dead bottom of the list. Figured this topic would end up pretty wild. LOL
Unfortunately, I get to listen to whatever ring tone the person I'm fishing with has on his phone.
Over, and over, and over.
No music is allowed in my boat. I would rather listen to the sounds of nature. They are pleasing to listen to and clue me in on what the fish are doing. Keep that music crap at home along with your annoying ring tones.
With Pandora and blue tooth speakers the possibilities are endless. Mainly 70's and 80's music and country. I just enjoy music and I do what I enjoy. But not loud!
I don't listen to music while fishing, however I do jam out anytime I'm going to fish or coming back from fishing. Three Days Grace, Slipknot, Suicide Silence, BMTH, etc.
I don't listen to music when I fish, but like some other posts I always have the last song I heard on the radio on the way to my fishing spot in my head. For hours. Saturday afternoon I saw a large bird swimming in the middle of the river and was trying to figure out what it was. Then I heard it's call. A loon!! I rarely see them here, only when they are migrating. With ear buds in, I never would have heard it.
Music? While fishing?
I don't listen to music while fishing anymore. I don't have a portable music player (well, I have a phone, but no music on it). I suppose, if I had a boat, I would play some country (quietly).
Is it wrong that I listen to Biggie Smalls while bass fishing?
Yes.
The Sweet, Sweet sound of my line coming tight on a most Solid Jig Hook set . . . .

I turn my ringer off and ask others to do the same unless there is an important reason to leave it on......in which case they probably should not have come fishing.
I am quite eclectic in my musical preferences, but I can honestly say I have never listened to any music while fishing. The sounds of nature are more than enough for me....especially if I am wading in a creek. I have found nothing more relaxing than the sound of nature running around you.

I bet your are just super pumped when fishing. Crossing the eyes on anyhting that bites and just launching fish all the way to you with only a hookset. Out there ready to get it done.

They ALL have a really important reason to leave it on. In case of an emergency.
I can still remember the day my Son-in-Law got a total of 23 "emergency calls/texts" in a three hour period. From dawn until about 10am he was keeping up with me fairly well. And then it began. When we got home I thanked my daughter for giving me the chance to move ahead and kick butt!
Phones, Wives, and Babies - Should all come with a mute button!
I never silence my phone on the boat. I used to, cause it just annoyed the devil out of me since it seemed like everyone seemed to decide to text or call when I was on the water. Then, the summer of 2012 I was on Claytor with my nephew. We were fishing late evening, and going to fish into night. I always tell my wife roughly where I plan on being just in case something happens, and she knows that generally I don't come off the water for storms. I knew there were going to be some storms hit and miss throughout the evening so I had reminded her that we were going to just hole up at a dock or something if a bad storm came, then fish right behind it.
So, as afternoon progressed, I got a text saying that there was a bad storm coming. No biggie. Then a few minutes later, me and my nephew both were getting calls and they were emphatic "Get off the water now" calls. My wife said, "The trees are sideways - it's bad." Well, fighting a storm is one thing, but fighting something that scaring people in the house is a whole nother ballgame. Before I even got the boat packed to run, my nephews girlfriend who lives about half way between my house and the lake was calling.
We fired up and ran back to the dock, and I could see some dark clouds racing up. We had less than two miles to run and the storm caught us just as we hit the dock. Any by storm, I mean derecho! I was heading to the truck and my nephew was on the boat, holding on at the dock. Things went form blustery to EF1 level strait line winds, and was spinning up small tornadoes in the valleys as the wind crossed. In a matter of just a few minutes, the whole area was disheveled. Trees down everywhere, trash and junk blown all over, it was a mess. I limb blew completely across the cove and hit my nephew, but didn't do any real damage.
One of my friends was fishing below the lake when it hit and saw a small twister crossing the river. They were in an aluminum boat and just beached it and held on hoping for the best.
All in all, we were all fine and things worked out good -- but things could have been really bad if we had been caught mid-lake when that hit. Since then, the phone stays loud, just in case. An ounce of prevention as they say...
I usually don't listen to music while I fish. Today, however, was different. Howard Stern interviewed Neil Young today, so I HAD to tune into that one.
I don't think "normal" bass fishing with artificial lures lends itself to music listening. Even if you aren't getting bit, there isn't any downtime from focus. You are having to pay attention to a lot of things, which keeps my mind pretty active.
Still fishing or trolling, where you are passively sitting waiting for a strike, is another matter. I realize now that I have listened to music or baseball games while fishing off a dock for catfish.
No music. No outside noise.
Too busy concentrating on fishing and enjoying Mother Nature's bounty and beauty.
When I'm fishing is about the only time I'm not listening to something – at work and at the gym both I blast a lot of metal to drown everything else out so that I can focus, but I don't seem to need that on the water. Curiously, it's also about the only time I'm not constantly vaping, too. I won't think about it until I feel like something's trying to claw its way out of my brain.
I like both kinds of music, Country and Western.

It's gotta be Outlaw country for me, none of that Nashville B*!
A little Hank Williams III, Bob Wayne, Coe and I'm lookin to rip'em outa whatever hole they be hiding in.
No tunes for me. Gotta hear the sounds of braid and flouro on the hooksets.
I enjoy listening to that cool wining sound my Scorpion DCs make.
No music. It’s my time on the water. Something about hitting the water as the sun is just about to break the horizon and nothing but crickets. Oh,,,,,,,, and definitely a tight line.
By day,
it's the whistle & horn of a passing train.
The crazy call of a pair of loons in the distance.
The distinct cry of an eagle over head.
The grunt-snort-wheeze of a mature Whitetail on the bank.
A wide assortment of Ducks, Gulls, Geese and Turkey calls.
By night,
it's the always wild & slightly unnerving screech & 'who' of an owl.
The piercing high pitch 'yeps' of a pack of coyotes way back in the woods.
The eternally startling tail splash of a beaver.
And the Crickets and Spring Peepers are almost deafening.
Can't imaging deliberately drowning any of that out.

I've got a 132gb card in my tablet - which I have my contour maps w/GPS running. At a background level, I have a mix of artists...nothing 'mainstream', so don't be ashamed to admit you don't know these groups.

My GP, Hank was going crazy the other night while outside. It was one of those, I hear something or see something barks. I go out to see what’s got him triggered. There’s a pack of coyotes carrying on like nobody’s business ????. No matter how far away they are or the fact that they’re only coyotes they still make you stop in your tracks.

It's a hard sound to miss.
We rarely see them but always hear them.
Them once it snow's, we are immediately reminded of how often and how closely - they 'visit'.
I think it's cool.

I do not listen to music while fishing and rather listen to the sounds of nature. Do listen to music while driving to the fishing location. I like country music, heavy metal, and other types of music.
No music for me other than what mother nature provides. The wind in the trees, the slap of water against the hull, water running down the rocky hillside, and the various animals.
CLASSIC ROCK & not the candy type PoPo either
Cheers
I don’t listen to music much when I’m in the boat fishing. But when I do , I listen to bluegrass. On the dock it’s more bluegrass, and sometimes some traditional Cajun music or Traditional country.
No music. I have considered mounting a small monitor at the bow to watch YouTube on how I'm doing it wrong .
Classic rock or southern blues like Mofro.
When I'm fishing around home I prefer nice silence. When I spend a week up in northern Wisconsin on a large lake each summer I pretty much listen to whatever is blaring out of the speakers of each ski boat as it comes flying by. LOL
Just my own classically trained tenor voice.
Tinnitus.

I fish alone 90% of the time so I need something so I don’t go into that place in my own head.
From Joni Mitchell to Pantera, Travis Scott and Outkast to Fishbone and D’Angelo.
If they’re biting I hardly notice
The wife and I sit on the back porch several nights a week listening to music and it's a wide variety from today's country to 70's rock......nothing heavy.
I won't even hum while I'm fishing though, I simply feel closer to nature.
Old Town Road full blast in the truck ????
No music while fishing.
SLAYER!

JJ Grey and Mofro are awesome!
As for the question. I never listen to music while fishing.
I could see possibly listening if I owned a boat, but around my parts fisherman are stacked on top of each other from the bank so no music for me out of respect for others. Plus, it would be one more thing to worry about. I much more enjoy hearing birds chirp and my son griping that he backlashed his reel again.
I'd recommend any jam that really gets you in the mood, or something to take your mind off waiting if you're not getting bites very often.
Though everyone has their own preference, I'd say my favorite types of songs are something you can sing/rock to.
Don't usually listen to anything while fishing. I do usually have some southern rock or similar type music cranking on the way there though. Usual suspects are Whiskey Myers, The Steel Woods, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan and the 78's etc.
Lately ive been listening to podcasts or news on my wireless earbuds.
I think I replied already, but after watching a bunch of my fishing videos I realize that one reason I don't listen to music is that I talk too much, at least while recording And I'm usually alone.
I don't listen to music much at all, and never while fishing. But I could see myself listening to something if I really got restless or bored, though maybe not music, and I'd use ear buds. I almost always am irritated by other people's music so I don't force mine on anyone.
Same thing I listen to while driving, taking long walks through the park, etc. - hardcore and metal.
No music while fishing! No singing! No humming! Nadda! As a matter of fact, No talking while fishing!
probably reasons I fish alone alot.... ????
