Has anyone ever tried lures made by Japanese lure designers such as Seiji Kato who invented lures such as the Jackall TN60 and lures such as
"Octopus Flick-Shake." It's three wacky-rigged worms on a single hook, or using two flick shake like a cross at one time because it for volume up and appeal up. Or has anyone ever tried the sasuteki (or "Okeechobee") rig or a PD-Chopper/Ammonite-Shad combo

Japanese lures have become a mainstay in todays bass fishing. Lucky Craft lures for one example, Gamakatsu and Owner hooks, Shimano and Daiwa reels and FC line. Don't forget Takahiro Omori who brought Japanese fishing presentations and lures to the Elite status.
The Japanese took west coast bass fishing to a higher level and set the world record.
We all are using Japanese fishing techniques today.

I have several Tn 60's & fish them regularly. I also fish the Octopus Flick shake. I have caught a few good bass on it but the problem is the Bluegill go for it big time so I don't use it as much.

Unless Page, AZ got moved to Japan, that's a "no, you don't." They're American made baits, as evidenced by the little USA flag on the package.

Seiji Kato was created more than the flick shake lures and such, he was the inventor of the daiwa minnow jerkbait and the lucky craft pointer. Two lures that we don't think much about. Japanese lures just like any other lures have their place and time. My preference is any lure as long as I LIKE IT ;D

Ill try anything reasonable. I like the idea of the X worms for wacky rigging. But as far as I have seen they are 2 6" worms and together thats a big bait to present.

I love trying new stuff no doubt and alot of great new stuff comes from Japan. But as a tournament angler I can say they are not my style. Most of the techniques are geared for finesse and while they do catch some big fish I am usually better off on most lakes using a more power approach especially since our lakes here have 15in limits for the most part and don't have quality smallies or spots.
Not saying they don't work but they are better suited to smallmouth and spotted bass and lakes with 12 in size limits. You don't see many major tournaments won on drop shots where Spots or Smallies are not the main target unless its out west where 12in fish are what you need.

I completely disagree with that theoretical "finesse" emphasis you are supposing, don 't see any difference between wacky rigging a 3 inch senko and fishing it with 6 lb test than rigging a 6 inch senko and fishing it with 14 lb test, and many example can be made; finesse is not about how small are your baits, how thin is your line or how light is your rod, finesse is how deliberately slow is your approach.

Like that tiny propeler jig there 's a bunch of interesting terminal tackle in those videos, look at them, there 's this little piece of plastic with a hole and a tiny screw for neko rigging ( it 's called Nekomaster ) , but what 's inportant is not exactly the hardware but how it 's used. For example that video where the guy is fishing with the propeller jig, what 's is important is not the hardware per se, the hardware adds but it 's not the most important part, the most important part is the fishing technique, that technique the guy is fishing in that particular video is called Midosto ( mid strolling ) and you can practice it with a regular jighead with great results.

Finesse is about attention to detail and accurately targeting bass, the opposite of power fishing and cover water fast.
Aaron Martens is a classic example of a finesse fisherman who won the Elite 2007 CA delta event using a 4" drop shot Roboworm with 75+ lbs., not 12" bass. We adopted the drop shot presentation from Japan, Japan adopted the Roboworm technology from CA.

Yes.
Yes.
Some of the Jackall lures i was looking at on TW looked pretty sweet. I plan to try the flick shake and a few other techniques such as the i-motion. Bass masters had an article on Japanese fishing techniques, t'was interesting.

Not trying to step on any toes but if you're interested in using a flick shake rig you may want to do a little googling around to see if you can find a custom jig maker who can make em for cheaper.
I personally buy weedless wacky jigs from a guy for around 50-75 cents each depending on whether I want them with Matzuo Sickles or Mustad Light Wires. The nice thing about custom orders is that you can also decide on the color, hook size and type of hook.
Unless of course you're set on getting only tungsten flick shake jigs. I personally find Jackall wacky jigs to be a little pricey at $6.99 for 3. That isn't to say that I don't have a few packs of them laying around somewhere. ;D

The Japanese popper bait called "Yellow Magic"
The most productive popper style bait in my tackle box. It ain't cheap(approx $16), but considering its a top water and I don't tend to lose them, they are worth their weight in gold.

Raul posted it earlier in the thread but this is a great site. Even if i can't understand the language, it's fishing and it is helping me get through the winter. Plus you might even learn a few new ways too fish . A new place I want to visit is Japan now. The waters they fish are so beautiful!
