Forget "where," there are a lot of "where's," the better question is "where, and with whom."

fishing user avatarWRB reply :

We have a few closed reservoirs that have big bass populations that I would love to fish. Bard and Bouquet Canyon, near where I live are top on my list. The closed area near the dam at Casitas, where they film celebrity pros catching big bass, is another that place.

What's to elaborate? I've seen it & want to fish it ;)

fishing user avatarbmadd reply :

Catt, I'm interested in your omission of Kentucky Lake. Have you fished it before? If not, the summer time bite here would be right up your ally.

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Dude I'm the kind of angler that will fish anywhere it's wet!

Have rodwill travel ;)

fishing user avatarLucky Craft Man reply :

I see a lot of people mentioned Lake Erie. I feel very fortunate to have close access to this fishery (it is an unbelievable place to fish). I would probably say El Salto would be first on my list (actually, Erie would be first, but I am assuming this if for places we have never been)

fishing user avatarDMac reply :

I've been to Casitas and Table Rock. So my list now is:

1. Guntersville

2. El Salto

3. Champlain

4. Falcon

5. The big "O"

Interesting It might be a little more touched once I'm done with it. Whoops that came out wrong :-?

fishing user avatarbmadd reply :

I know it's not your Texas sized fish, but pulling up to ledges, humps, and drops in the summer and catching schooling fish off of big texas rigged worms makes me think of you all the time  ;)

fishing user avatartnhiker44 reply :

I have fished a lot of great eastern waters in my lifetime... but the place I most want to fish again is a local lake that I just recently had a bad outing on, Lake Oconee, here in Georgia. I have fished Guntersville, Okeechobee, Kissimmee, Dale Hollow, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Eufala, ect., and they are all fantastic lakes. But the lake that tops my list is the one that just slapped me a goose egg during a club tourney. My next club tourney is on that same lake and I will not let that happen again.

What's to elaborate? I've seen it & want to fish it ;)

Just wanted to make sure you didn't have any super duper inside info...  I used to drive past it every weekend to and from the deer lease and drooled every time, then met/fished with some guys that live out there and realized it's not what my mind had made it out to be.  (I thought of fork each time i drove by)  Good lake? yes...  but not the hog pen I imagined.

fishing user avatarBass Junkie reply :

I really don't care. Give me a legitament shot at a 10lber and I'll be fine. I doubt the lakes I fish, with the exception of one, have ever hosted a 10lber in my lifetime :-/ :-/

I guess I actually COULD go just about anywhere. But I don't get enough time on my own local waters as it is. I'd love to knock off work today and hit one of my ponds.

Can anyone imagine being in the same boat, on the same body of water with Catt and Matt Fly, during the college football season?

Question: who would wind up in the water first?

Guntersville, any local pond in Fla

Ry Roberts has been a jewel for a long time!!  I used to fish it fairly regularly in the mid-late 90's.  The pros won't ruin it...  there will be a little more pressure, but by nature of the location I doubt it will ever be hammered unless a state record comes out of it.

any of the small and private farm ponds that bill dance fishes in his shows ;)

IMO,

way more productive than any large lake could be (in a short period of time at least),

in terms of catching multiple "large fish" (5lbs +)

great list. id remove myself and add Raul. the idea of 9 days south of the border is so tempting.

fishing user avatarbassman31783 reply :

I was fortunate to grow up 20-30min from Lake Fork.  Sadly I have moved, but only 2hrs away now so I still get to fish it consistently.  As for other lakes I would have to go with.

-Castaic

-El Salto

-Huites

oh i have a long list of questions, a few of which hes already done a great job of addressing in pm.

fishing user avatarFishing Rhino reply :

If you could, WHERE?

I can. So right in my honey hole which in a direct line from my house is only a drive, fairway metal, and a seven iron across the road.

There are dozens of places I'd love to try, but I don't have them listed according to priority.

But this one thing I am sure of. If I had no access to the pond I regularly fish, it would be at the top of my list.

Fish like these are routinely caught on a day's fishing.  I am extremely grateful to have access to this natural, unmanaged pond.

I doubt ten percent of the town's residents know it exists.

It has produced this kind of fishing year after year for decades.  The only change is that it was once a smallmouth pond.
