I am a retired Professional Bass Angler. I won three tournaments in a row before an accident to my right shoulder ended my career, but not before I landed 100 Lunker Bass in 12 years in the State of Georgia. I also caught two 14 and 14.1 Hogs in Georgia one year apart. What really makes my skin crawl is too see Bass Anglers fishing bass beds out of desperation to get a big Bass or just make it easy for them, well, in my book nothing is easy. You want to catch Bass then you have to learn how and learn Bass such as I did and set records no Angler in the world can touch no time soon. I will never reveal my secret because too many people would take advantage of it and wipe out lakes and ponds. Bass bed fishing should banned. and Anglers should be fine if caught fishing beds. That is my opinion. None of my 100 10 lb. Bass caught ever came from Bass beds that's a fact,.
This thread has potential.
Welcome to BR..
You're funny Aldo .

That's why I wear a blindfold when deer hunting. To see them is an act of desperation and laziness.
How y'all are!
While I appreciate your opinion, it is just that, your opinion!
I have worked with, been around, and studied the research of some of the top fisheries biologist in the world and they all disagree with your opinion.
I suggest you do some research into the Toyota Share A Lunker program and the research do by Clarence Bowling.
Thank you! Have a nice day!
lol pathetic self aggrandizer
Must have injured shoulder from hoisting all them hawgs. Good thing that injury took you out in your prime so the rest of us stand a chance to compete lol
Can I get your autograph? I am sure it's worth something. ..lol
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~
Interesting first post.
btw - have you ever fished Victory Pond at Fort Benning ?
A-Jay
Aldo that is quite a first post. You may be the best bass fisherman no one has ever heard of...or not. Your shoulder may be damaged, but your ego is certainly unharmed. Maybe you're just trolling...only time will tell.
As far sight fishing is concerned, some feel strongly on both sides of the issue. Tournament fishing in general is a source of stress to many anglers and fish. We have discussed these things here many times. If you have something to add to the conversation, we welcome your thoughts; if you just want to tell us how good you are and stir the pot, not so much.
Post reminds me of a Dos Exos beer commercial. . Stay thirsty my friends...
Professional bass fishing is ruining the lakes. It should be banned. Imagine that for a 1st post!
Same difference.
Let's keep it toned down, and see where this goes.
Welcome to BR. Good thing there's no door here to fit through....

Congrats on your success but from a pro's standpoint if that's where the majority of fish are at the time and they need to make money to stay afloat so to speak then I don't see any problem with catching the fish where they are. A moral victory won't pay the bills when the champ is at the podium accepting his big check at the end of the tourney.
As for me, as little as I get to fish compared to a lot of folks I am going to catch as many fish as I can while I'm out. If they're on the beds that makes it much easier to do for an amateur like me. So you can call me weak if you want, I have zero shame!
i see a lot of bass on the beds here in Middle GA around september ..... just interesting timing on the first post.
aldo, curious of the 100+ lunkers you've caught, how many came from ponds vs the lakes/reservoirs in GA?
You got me
I can appreciate Aldo's passion to protect big bass during the spawn cycle when the females are vulnerable to being caught off or near beds. Having gone through a similar learning experience and watching stringers of giant bass floating like volley balls belly up after being caught by live bait anglers, I spent about 30 years advocating no live bait during the spawn period. Over harvesting big bass from small lakes has a negative impact on the big bass populations, larger size lakes with a higher big bass population the impact is less dramatic.
After banging my head against a wall of naysayers I finally stopped trying to influence other bass anglers. Today more bass anglers practice catch & release more then they have every done before and that helps if the big bass are handled properly and released heathy.
Aldo settle down and smell the roses, life is to short.

He´s been busy fishing for bedding bass ya know, how you imagine he got all those looonkers he´s bragging about ?
I swear, I've checked the calendar three times to make sure it wasn't April 1st.
Tight lines,
Bob
I'll have to follow this for sure.
While I don't personally advocate bed fishing, I don't see the point of bashing those who bed-fish. If your argument is that catching bedding fish hurts population, then so does catching a fish at any other time of the year since most fish will participate in the spawn in spring. That lunker you caught and died in August, guess what, she'll spawn in May, that nice one you caught in early November, he'll fertilize some sexy female's eggs in May and have kids. ANY fish dead can hurt the population.
Practice ethical and sensible C&R and good populations will be sustainable.
Welcome aboard, Aldo!
Watching....

After reading a dozen grammatical errors in the first paragraph, I just stopped reading.

Aldo,
I guess what got me is the fact that I could understand if you were posting something about this to help people. But at the sentence, "I will never reveal my secret," this post becomes nothing more than a show of bravado.
So...tell us what you really think.

Me too I wanna know what Aldo knows that the rest of us are clueless about. Maybe he has an 800 number that we can call to get this week's free tip on how to wipe out bass populations. This has to be a joke because no one is that arrogant.

I bet he's got an absolute load of banjo minnows that he snags ten pounders with all day, every day.
don't knock the banjo minnow....it is a good bait...
and kudos to the original poster...1 post with 3 pages of replies
Dude us Yankees already know your Secret! We already used it to wipe out every 14 lb. bass in the entire northeast years ago. We caught every 14 pound bass there was from here to Canada On that sucker! There are none left! I don't blame you for not letting your secret out down south! Now we need to catch 3 fish to land 14 lbs! It sucks and I wish I could go back in time and change the past but I can't. By the way welcome and thanks for posting.
PS: I think you are eating a trophy.
Your grammar is excellent!
Welcome to the forum.
Since you can't fish right handed, have you started practicing left handed casting?
As a retired pro, you should never give up fishing... Good luck.
KVD jumped him on the street put him in a arm bar and ended his career. KVD knew he was coming on strong and didnt want his title best in bass fishing took.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why you would post this as a first post, and why you think others would care what you think.
That's the allure of this thread for me. The ego is epic... and sad, at the same time. Why should I care who you are and what you think?
There was a guy went by the name of "Gunkid" (among others) on the gun boards a while back. Turns out he was a minor league IPSC shooter, but he had to feel important and came off a lot like you. Suppressors made out of oil filters, assault wheelbarrows, felonious possession of firearms -- he had it all!
He felt compelled to share his "knowledge" with the rest of us, and sounded a lot like you do, Mr. Rosado.
You have done nothing to make me care about your opinion. If anything, I feel a bit sorry for you.
