Christmas is coming soon............. 2024

fishing user avatarFishTank reply :

Christmas is just around the corner. What fishing equipment do you guys want Santa to bring you?

I'm hoping to find a new Shimano Stradic 2500 and maybe a St. Croix Avid or Legend Tournament but I have to get the kids taken care of first.

Ho, ho, ho!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fishing user avatarJake P reply :

Im set rod and reel wise. I think im gonna ask for a bunch of tackle and a new tackle box.

fishing user avatarJimzee reply :

Daiwa Steez 8' Flipping Rod and Lowrance 10" LCD Unit for the front of the boat.  Oh, and some new underwear.   :P

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

I must be getting clothes.

Just noticed a BPS sack in the trunk of the wife's car today and I KNOW she' not shopping for tackle!

Girls find sooooo many ways to waste money. ::)

fishing user avatarLow_Budget_Hooker reply :

I'm getting a new 32' Regulator CC, 4 new Penn 130 two-speed reels, the new Furuno radar,a small house in the country, Roberts rod collection, that cutie that works at the bank, a candy cane, a contract with Bassmaster University to go teach for 250k/yr, a pony, a 2005 Aston Martin Vantage, and a new alarm clock because I just smashed the one that woke me up from this dream.

;D

fishing user avatarguest reply :

I'm in a bit of quandary this year.

This will seem totally obnoxious to many of you,

and I don't blame you, but my problem is that I have more than enough of everything, and it's all high end stuff that I love.

I have I have 7 rods, 5 GLx's one legend elite and one Legend Tournament bass crankin' stick.

I have 4 TD-Z's, an upgraded Sol, a Fuego, and a steez.

Plus I have assorted "retired" rods and reels, that still work fine, I just don't use them anymore.

Oh, I forgot....I have an Okuma swimbait rod with matching Okuma round baitcaster for heavy swimbaits.

I also have a couple of ultra light avid series spinning rods with assorted daiwa or shimano spinning reels for playing around with bream

I have a St. croix flyrod and a custom Star rod for inshore fishing.

I have dozens of my favorite lures, and lot's of other stuff I never use.

I donated a bunch of tackle to Muddy's program but I still enough left over to fill my garage.

Like I said, I know this sounds like I'm trying to flaunt being rich or whatever.  Trust me ....I ain't.

But when your as old as I am,,, and bass fishing for as long as i have been, you accumulate lotsa stuff.

then you upgrade it all, and you have even more stuff.

All I ever buy these days is hooks, and line.

whatsa basser to do?

fishing user avatarKYbass1276 reply :

I think I'm good on the fishing dept.  I would like to have a new Matthews bow though.

fishing user avatarJake. reply :

I usually just ask for money for Christmas, so I plan on buying a Revo SX for the new Avid I just bought, a scale, a new tackle box, and a new ultra light combo for bluegill and crappie.

Oh, and a few more lucky crafts.  ::)

fishing user avatarMALTESE FALCON reply :

I'm set with rods and reels, I have a few lures I want to get, but that's about all. My one big want/need is an Aqua View camera. I've always wanted to see what is down there in a few of my favorite haunts.  I'm just having a difficult time convincing the Minister Of Finance.

fishing user avatarbass109 reply :

I guess i'm done buying tons of tackle this year. 8-) Might get a few on christmas though, nothing big.

fishing user avatarJohn J. reply :

I've got a lot of tackle to begin with and I really don't need much. But me and my family drew names to see who were are going to buy for (besides everyone buying for everyone and spending a whole lot of money), and my brother in law drew me, and the limit is $50 (no more), so I told him a few tackle things, maybe a new rod/reel combo or stuff like that.

And then my parents might buy me a cd player for my truck. It came standard with an am/fm radio and I have a lot of music cds that I'd like to listen to as I am commuting back and forth to college everyday.

So possibly a new cd player for my truck and a few baits or a rod and reel combo this year.

fishing user avatarMattStrykul reply :

John J if your truck has a cassette player you can get one of these....

Ya RR but if it wornt for them we'd all be out there in our unduros....

fishing user avatarTokyo Tony reply :

This won't necessarily be for Christmas, but moreso before iceout next spring.  I'm looking to get:

Loomis GLX (I may end up with GL3 - depends) casting rod with Revo SX

Loomis Bronzeback rod with either Shimano Stradic or Pfleuger Supreme

*maybe* a new 5 or 6 weight flyrod and reel

Cheapish used bassboat ~16ft

Obviously the accumulation of lures will continue throughout the winter.

Ambitious but possible if I *literally* play my cards right.

fishing user avatarfishfordollars reply :

A new Lowarance LMS520 GPS unit.

fishing user avatarDavis reply :

Wife and I don't exchange for Christmas.

We just buy for our families and of coarse make sure our son is taken care of.

fishing user avatartntitans21399 reply :

Since This was my first year at Bass fishing and started with the bottom rods and reels, I will maybe ask for  a gift card to BPS, Academy Sports, Walmart, or Dicks Sporting Goods to upgrade rods.

Well, that's probably been a good thing for some years, but do YOURSELF a favor and get her a gift anyhow! You will be miles ahead and your life with wife will be soooooo much better. Build up a few chits, you never know when you'll need 'em.

8-)

fishing user avatarguest reply :

I am just hoping to have enough $ available to make those closest to me know that I was thinking about them this year

fishing user avatarmattm reply :

My wife asked me this the other day.  I'm still trying to decide between another guided fork trip or a carrot stick and Revo STX.

It 's been several years I 've asked him for a Megabass F366X Cyclone or F566X Bearing Down rod, so far ....... NUTHIN !!!!!!!!!  :-[ so -----> Santa can come and kiss my bony arse !  >:(

This year I 'm gonna ask The BaitMokey for the same, I can bet he 's by far more reliable than Santee Klos.  ;)

fishing user avatarLow_Budget_Hooker reply :

Raul- If you had SNOW,.....Santa would be able to land, but.......

fishing user avatarmayassa reply :

I'd like to get a trolling motor for the Bow and a cheap fish finder

fishing user avatartwors reply :

Santa Garry will get himself a new BCR803 or 804 Mossyback and while he wants a new MG51, he'll probably settle for a 101 Curado. Life is sooo hard being single...LOL!

fishing user avatarfishfordollars reply :

Diawa Steez combo please. I had an opportunity to examine one yesterday. Awsome is not good enough. That combo was the lightest thing I have ever put in my hand.

fishing user avatarTin reply :

New 6'9" mh casting carrot stick, some Optimum 4" suspending swim baits, and a ton of GYCB Twin Tail Hula Grubs, in Green Pumpkin, Aquamelon Gold, and Black Blue  :)

fishing user avatareastkybass reply :

Already have it setting in the back at the bait shop.  New Citica reel with a Bronzeback Gloomis rod to match.  Al I have to do is go pick it up.

fishing user avatarTop reply :

I want a 14 foot Jon boat decked out with all the trimmiings...

unfortunately Mrs Claus hasn't a Clue what to get  and she doesn't want it sitting at the North Pole while I am at the South Pole.. SOOOO unfortunately unless I find some elves to help me out... that dream isn't going to happen until next Aug or so IF I am lucky

Santa AL

fishing user avatarluckyinkentucky reply :

I'd like to have a TD Zillion, but I won't be upset if I don't get it.  Santa has already done most of the shopping this year, and I suspect She got me some other things I'll enjoy just as much!   :)  After all ... it's all about the kids this time of year.  Us adults have already had our fun.  It's just as fun in watching them open their gifts.   ;)

fishing user avatarLCpointerKILLA reply :

one of those gnarly looking Team diawa Ito series baitcasters that are really hard to find. Cork handles/?

fishing user avatarBranuss04 reply :

Well Santa came early for me this year.  I got myself... I mean santa got me a Diawa Tierra 2000, a Shimano Crucial 7-2 Dropshot rod, a hud, BBZ-1, M/S. Slammer, and some other new tackle already. and he's getting me a new Lowrance X96 during december. I guess I've been a good boy this year.

Same for us too.   Dec is always bad for us anyway.  I have taxes to pay this month as well.   Also my wife graduates school next week but I had to pay $200 for her to take her final exam or something like that.  I stated I like to have a new mattews bow but thats going to be a while.   To be honest though I like the time with the family thats the best gift I could get so I'm happy

fishing user avatarfarmpond1 reply :

Well, since my car just got out of the shop, my wish list has to be a little smaller this year.  But at least I have money to pay for that so I'm grateful.

fishing user avatarFishinDaddy reply :

New seats for my boat and maybe and unbent trolling motor prop....those rocks in ga were rough...

fishing user avatarmichbass reply :

It is hard for me at least to come up with things I want. Normally buy them myself.. I can't really think of anything this year except practical stuff which is boring. Well there is this one thing but it will never happen :'( it involves... :-X

I'm gettin a trip to Guntersville at the end of March ;)

fishing user avatarRedlinerobert reply :

I'm so grateful for what I have, I honestly can't think of anything material that I want.   A trip to Acapulco with Gidget would be awesome. :)
