This is a big "what if" scenario that might be fun, hope you play along.
Imagine if you would; your three favorite anglers, legends or fishing idols are standing in front of you. Each of them willing to take you on the water for a day to hone your skills with a specific tactic, presentation or application. They are each great anglers but, each of them are exceptional at specific applications.
Who are the three anglers in front of you?
Who do you choose for the day on the water?
What application, presentation or application do you request their help with?
My answers:
#1- Bill Dance, KVD & Shaw
#2- KVD
#3- Lets face it, KVD is really a fish in a mans body. He knows more about finding a fish under competitive pressure than anyone. To spend a day on the lake with KVD to work on patterning bass on new waters, would be like 4 years of college.
Hope you guys play along.
1.Shaw Grisby, Paul Elias, KVD
2.Paul Elias
3.Right now I would pick Paul Elias. I know it might come as a surprise to many but the guy is a master at deep cranking off shore structure, and I really want to hone this skill in.
I'll Play
1. KVD, Denny Brauer, Ike
2. Denny Brauer
3. Jig fishin!
1. Bill Siemantle
2. Mike Long
3. Butch Brown
All of these guys catch monster fish and are known for throwing swimbaits but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Bill & Mike are both excellent tournament fishermen and are masters at merging the trophy world into the tournament world. I think I would just want observe letting them doing their thing and ask questions as they fish.
1.KVD,Denny Brauer, Rick Clunn
2.Rick Clunn
3.Crankbait fishing. The man has forgotten more about bass fishing than I will even know.
1. Mark zona, Ike, Jimmy houston
2. Zona
3. Id pick Z just for the sheer fun and entertainment of being on the water with the guy plus the man can fish.
1. April Vokey
2. April Vokey
3. Who cares, LOL.
Haha JF idk if I would even be able to fish with that kinda distraction
1. Roland and Scott Martin, KVD
2. Roland and Scott Martin
3. I've met them both and they are both truly great guys. I'd love to spend a day in the boat with them on Okeechobee. Let those two have a a friendly competition...I'll play marshall and just sit back, watch, and learn.
> Kevin VanDam...Largemouth bass
> Al Lindner............All other freshwater species
> Al Ristori..............Saltwater game fish
I'd love to take Kevin to Lake Walk-in-Water, a trophy bass water in Florida
that has no appreciable contour and no appreciable cover
Roger
1. KVD, Greg Hackney, Dean Rojas
2. KVD
3. Patterning fish
if Hackney
3. Jigs
if Rojas
3. Frogs
1. Hemingway, KVD, one of the BASS Florida Pros
2. Hemingway
3. Does it really matter?

Yes Sir!!
1. Alton Jones, Jimmy Houston, Ike
2. Alton Jones
3. I'd love to sit down and talk about how to fish a tournament.
Also I'd like to see how he breaks down a lake.

Good answer!
1. KVD
lets face it right now hes the best in the world spending a day in the boat with him would be so informitive how could you not walk away a better fisherman
1. Larry Nixon
Larry Dahlberg
Ike
Spend the day with L.Nixon.
See how he disects the water and conditions. He has been so successful and my original fishing hero. It would be amazing to watch him work.
#1 - Al Lindner: Greatest all around fisherman.
#2 - Doug Hannon: Knows more about big bass than just about anyone.
#3 - KVD: Powerfishing guru. A technique I suck at!
My first choice would be Al; to learn everything I could in the short span of only one day on the water.
Steve (Big-O) Parks to catch some Big-O Texas Bass
Kent (roadwarrior) Smith to catch some big smallies (I’ve never caught one)
Matt (Mattlures) Servant to teach me to throw swim baits
Shaw Grigsby, Denny Brauer, KVD
Shaw Grigsby
His choice.
To see his techniques and tactics on Florida waters. I don't envision myself competing outside of Florida in the near future and I would like to improve myself here first.
Mark Sosin
I forgot I'd like to fish with Catt I'd love to see the Jedi Master at work

Three great choices Catt.
KVD, Shaw Grigsby, Big O
Big O
Flipping deep water stuff for monster bass.
I'm going to actually get to do this in the near future, and I couldn't be more excited. That guy is a wealth of knowledge, and after spending a few days with him last week, I learned so much, I can only imagine a day on the water with him.
Al Lindner.
Nothing else needs to be said.

I am honored but I am not that good. However if you ever come out here I will see if I can get Mike to play teacher/guide and THEN you will learn some things.

A man who designs lures like you have has to know a thing or two about them
Thanks for the kind words Catt, again I am honored. I do know enough to get by and catch some fish but there are others much better then me. I am a better bait maker then I am a fisherman. Either way I would try and teach you some tricks.
Thank you

Good choices. Now add two more.....
