What about the size of the baits in the fall?
Pretty much what the others said. Size doesn't change either...
skillet
Well, it's prime time for jerkbaits...Pointer 128, Baby Bass.
Norman Crappie Crankbait, and Rapala 1/4oz Husky Jerk
Early fall shallow cranks (both lipped & lipless depending on the day) in the flats are usually effective, up north in the later stages of fall I do well with jigs/ tubes & jerkbaits on outside weed lines around small patches or clumps of grass. The remaining green grass that's still producing oxygen is a big key, last year I did well when the water temp was in the 40's slowly shaking and dragging a football jig.
3/8 oz. living rubber jig, with a Netbait paca craw trailer.
BB
swimbaits ( no, not paddletails !!! ) , 8'' BBZ-1 , huddlestons ( 8'' and 6'' weedless ) , stocker trouts , etc...
Buzzbaits, Aruku Shads, double willow leafed spinnerbaits, and soft jerkbaits
My top 3 Fall baits.
-Swimbaits (The Bigger the better)
-Crankbaits (Shallow to mid depth diving)
-Buzzbaits (on overcast days with a chop, this bait can be killer all day long. Not just at dawn and dusk)
prob spinnerbaits
For me, it's shallow crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, and spinnerbaits.
Falcon
Crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs.
1/2 oz lipless crank in chrome or gold.
Tubes and jerkbaits
Tube and a Chug Bug!!
horizontal shad type baits - jerkbaits, traps, swimming jigs, and oh yea spinnerbaits
Mottfia
1- Minus, Rat-L-Trap, Spinnerbait, and swimming jigs.
Swimbait spinnerbait and jig
War Eagle or Sweet Beaver
So far almost all my fish have come on crainkbaits. At the lake I fish alot of the time they'll only hit lipless cranks. Rat-l-traps are working best, but cotton cordells and rattlin' rapalas are working too. When the waters clear enough I'll usually catch em on Rapala minnow raps and tubes.
As the water cools, the hard jerkbaits really come into their own. Same can be said for blade baits.
Perhaps due to their vibration, I find "Paddletail" lures to excel during fall.
Anything from paddletail worms to paddletail swimbaits.

Great answer...way to help the OP . That's terrific that you fish the same baits year round, but maybe tell him which one of those 'same baits' works the best to catch fall bass....which have generally moved back in to the creeks and are chasing shad.
Moonsault cb-100 for me. I throw many shad imitators, but if I had to pick one...this would be it. Popper in the morning, and a crankbait/jig 1-2 punch in the afternoon.
Pointer 78, pop-r, spinnerbait
buzzbait killed all day yesterday.
it was cloudy though.
flipped a t-rigged rage tail craw with some success.
think i caught the biggest mud fish of my life yesterday. hahhaha... sucker had to be 7lbs.
Cotton Cordell Super Spot Chrome/Black back
Big M flatside or his KB3 imitator
When the reaction bite slows I switch to a jig or tx rigged Berkley Chigger Craw.
