Buying fishing tackle, the ammount of lures, plastics, and wire type baits i have is just re-donculus..
It's an addiction....a very sick addiction that is sucking the life and money out of me...
I would appreciate it if you all would keep the Lure posts to a minimum or I might need TD Bank to put a restriction on my credit/debit card.
Thank You -WM
I second this!
Oh no you didn't. You really don't think you're gonna get off that easy, do you?
nice try never works that way always something new to learn lol.

Did you find any good new stuff? I could really use som......
Dude, it's been a long Winter. I think we're all going a little nucking futs!
Nothing that a Pointer 100 in Ghost Baby Bluegill can't fix.
Don't get on the Tackle Warehouse .com hahaha that's where I get most of my stuff and they have awesome deals...just saying lol
I was "done" a long time ago but somehow stuff just seems to keep accumulating!

At least you're only buying 1 or 2 baits a time that way right? Nevermind that those 1 or 2 baits can total more than a whole cart worth of regular tackle
Good luck getting the monkey off your back.
Its impossible. Dont fight it
Me and ebay are on break in our relationship right now. She is costing me too much money.
I had to pick up an order at Cabelas, I said I had enough jerkbaits, I really don't need anymore. I walked in and saw a line at the pick up/customer service area, (3 people) so I figured I'd take a quick look in the fishing section, just a look, it won't hurt to look. I walked out with the order I picked up, 2 packs of trebls hooks, a pack of bobber stops, 6 more jerkbaits, 2 containers of powder paint, and a pack or spinner blades. We all feel your pain but if you don't feed the addiction just a little it is going to really cost you the second you get some extra money, you'll explode into a buying frenzy with more rod and reels than you can imagine.
I was doing so well but fell off the wagon again. Why in the hell do I keep buying jerkbaits I ask myself? If I broke off a bait on every cast on both jerkbait rods I would run out of line before jerkbaits. Good news is I haven't bought any this month.

Stay away from Cabela's.... Jackall askas for $10, Rage Tails on sale, KVD Hardbaits on sale, and many more... I walked away with an Ima Bill Lowen squarebill for $8
I'm still here!!!!!!
They say that admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery so just keep denying you have one and everything will be ok...!

As soon as he starts making the Davis jig that is now the net bait paca swim jig I'll switch over. I know he makes good jigs but that one swim jig has caught more big fish than any I've ever seen. I gave my dad a couple and the first day out he put 4 in the boat over 8 lbs
Yes, winter has been far too long and far too cold.
I've been buying MB 110's and digging through ebay to buy old Poe's RC1's and RC3's.
Momma would probably like me to slow down. D@mn bait monkey!
I hear you WM.... It's a terrible addiction, we need a recovery center for us.. Lol it's time for a intervention
Yeah the bait monkey tore me a new one this winter. Rods/reels and more baits than I can count. I actually had to hang another 4x8 peg board in the garage to house all of the stuff. It is not usually this bad but I sold some items that gave me quite a bit of extra cash. Now I cannot seem to find that extra cash I had on hand. I believe it may be stuck to the wall.
WHITE MIKE, GUYS & GALS, KIDS, CHILDREN, BABIES,
Please listen very carefully were never done its like buying toilet paper we can stop or go with out it.
I have a ton of tackle and mainly fish from shore. When I find let's say a crankbait that's hot I purchase every color to cover every water and light condition. I buy enough for the fear of it being discontinued. Trust me purchasing hard and soft baits never ends. Inbetween I like to try and test newer baits too. If it works great as another fish catcher I purchase many of those in different colors and sizes sometimes too.
Every time my rate of success is up I feel the need to purchase more baits. I'm happy, happy and want to try more baits. Also keep in mind when I have success with one bait I buy and give them to my family members too. This way they have success too.
My youngest son has a nack for fishing. I show him a new lure and explain to him how to present it and he has success right away with every lure. I keep on telling him he should be fishing as a non boater to start off with but does he listen nope.
I guess you didn't read the fine print, number 1. The Bait Monkey owns you, number 2. You shall bow down to the Bait Monkey , number 3. You shall pay your dues to the Bait Monkey (i.e. spending your pay check on tackle) number 4. If you want to leave the Bait Monkey, you have to get jumped out.
You know after how you described this.... They say there is no better feeling in the world then giving people gifts. If you got to much tackle I could use some gifts. Win win!
Look at it this way, you could be addicted to alot worse. Embrace it. We both know the addiction isn't going anywhere.
I love all these responses, they make me feel better about using so much of my and my parents money. But it's all true no use in fighting it, it will always come back even worse. I've found the best way to control it is to just stay out of the big stores and try to go to shows and flea markets where they have better deals than these large corporation stores. (Bass Pro, Cabelas, Dicks, etc.)
