For the money, I think it's almost a joke. Yet I still buy them. But come on lol. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but I think we should start a petition or something.
What problems do you have with lucky craft's hooks?
I've never ran into any problems with their hooks.
Never had an issue with pointer, old RCs, LVs, or RTOs.
what model are you using?
I think their hooks are great. Very sharp. What do you think is wrong with them?
The hooks are very high quality, I just hate how heavy the wire on them is, I like light wire trebles on my baits so when a fish touches it, he's hooked, any video of a bass eating a crankbait and rejecting it should be enough proof as to why. Can't do that for the jerkbaits because they'll float with light hooks but I swap them out on everything else.
Basically lure manufacturers can't make everyone happy. So they try to build lures you can fish right out of the box, and LC builds some quality stuff! However, everyone has their own prefrences and tunes up lures to meet their own needs. Some guys take paint pens to the gill area, some tweak the line tie, and ALOT of guys swap hooks. Just takes a second and they sort of recycle themselves. You may spend some money on the trebles you prefer but you end up with a set of hooks you took off that can be used on something you might not be so picky about. LC hooks aren't bad, but I completely understand they might not be the hooks that you have confidence in, and we all know confidence is a huge part of this sport! Tight lines!!

If you want to swap out hooks for lightwire stuff on your jerkbaits, try wrapping the shank with wire up near where the eyelet for the split ring is. Add a few wraps and test it in a tank or bathtub, tune accordingly until you get the results you're looking for.
While i do change out my trebles on luckys to a kvd tg76 shorty, i keep them on hand for times When i want to go back to a round bend style hook. I think its a pretty good hook but i prefer to upsize and run the mustads normally.
Most other stock hooks get tossed.

Sure you can, just add a couple split rings to the hook eye.
I like them just fine. I have changed them out on the LV 500 in some instances (just to adjust the hook size), but always leave them be on Pointers not to mess with the "mojo" of that bait.

I think your observation is a joke. LC hooks are sticky sharp right out of the box. I only replace them as they wear.

What hooks do you think are better than Daiichi sharpened VMC? I've had some Pointer SP 100 have somewhat lite wire tail hooks, but they weren't junk. Like Dwight, I replace them as they wear - which happens frequently since they catch fish. I generally replace with Owner Stinger ST-36 Needle Points, but for any suspending baits, I use OEM hooks: http://www.luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/accessories/hooks.htm
So, with a statement like your original post, let's hear what baits you're commenting on, where you got them, and what the specific issue with the hooks is.
BassResource.com is not the place to air grievances with a company, though we do discuss issues. So, rather than sling mud, let's hear your full complaint.
I use a lot of LC baits and have had zero issues with the stock hooks. The only time I change them is when they get too worn.
Doesnt look good for the petition....I dont have many LC baits so I can only comment on the few I do have. Sticky out of the package.
Guess that bait didn't make anybody bite.
Lucky Craft lures are just about the only hard bait that I buy that I don't change the hooks out on them--that is one reason I spend the little extra for them because I find their hooks good out of the box-that and the fact that they are fish catching lures for me--great lures and good hooks out of the box. I like them a lot and generally are my first choice
The hooks are dull. If I'm the only one who thinks that for a high quality bait the hooks are crap I must be crazy. Spro cranks are cheaper and use gammy hooks, which are strong and sharp. The hooks on any LC crankbait or jerkbait I ever have owned won't stick in a fingernail out of the box. In my eyes a spro fat pap 55 out of the box is ready to roll. A lucky craft needs hooks sharpened before I throw it.
Baits I use are the skt magnums, TO squarbills, 1.5 2.5 3.5 dd, pointers, flash pointers. I have a decent selection.
Your post made me double-check the hooks on my Pointers.
Geez, they must've screwed-up big time, because the hooks are all sticky sharp
I dont think I have owned a bait in the past 2-3 years that had a dull hook. That's not just luckycraft, im talking every hardbait Iv bought. Strike king, megabass, deps, river2sea, livetarget, heddon, rapala, etc. All the brands I buy have very good hooks out of the package. The only times I change them right after is to beef it up to a 2X hook.
I don't know if you are just unlucky, getting all the sub-par hooks, or you are way too picky. This is the first time I heard someone having problem with lucky craft hooks.
Well maybe I'm picky idk. I take a new bait see if the hook sticks in my nail, if it doesn't it's not sharp in my eyes. Sometimes the lcs hooks won't even scratch my nail. TRUTH is any hook feels sticky sharp if you just poke for finger with it......
I own probably 100 lucky craft baits, never, not once, have I had a problem with the hooks. Perhaps it's a problem with your fingernail?

.....I think you need to see somebody about this fingernail of yours. Lots and LOTS of people's complaints about hardbaits are hooks...Lucky Craft hooks are almost never part of that discussion.
I don't like the LC stock hooks either. They don't seem that sharp to me but that's possibly because they're a little heavier hook than I typically replace them with. I mainly use ST36s, so that might be why they don't seem really sharp also. I replace mine right out of the package. I'm sure they're fine, just personal preference.
