What is everyones favorite lure? The one that is tied to at least one of your poles before you back the boat in and you use during tournaments.
I like throwing a wacky worm rig. Depending on the color clarity will effect my worm color, but I always put a few tiny split-shots just above the hook to help sink it faster and give me more action.
I have 2 that are always tied on.
Blue/Black chatter bait. I flip it, pitch it, swim it, and dead stick it. Usually catches at least one fish a day.
Frog, Gambler cane toad in lane toad color.
These 2 baits don't catch high numbers of fish but they both catch big fish.
1/2 oz brwn/black/pumpkin(home made spinnerbait)#5 colorado blade(gold).
I have two, swim senkos and rat-l-traps
I have a few. 1/4 ounce football headed peanut-butter and jelly jig with my homemade Crawtail trailer. I also commonly use wacky rigged YUM Dingers, ZOOM Finesse Worms and my home made Finesse Worms and cigarbaits.
I use to throw spinner-baits all the time, but I've stayed away from them. But I will get back to using them once again. For spinner-bait my favorite brand is BOOYAH! and the spinner-bait I like is the 3/8 ounce Glimmer-Shad skirt with hammered willow-leaf silver blades.
Softplastic: 5in Senko in any dark color (black w/blue flake, green pumkin w/black flake, or green pumpkin watermelon laminate)
Hardbait: Lucky Craft Flat Mini MR in Chartreuse Shad
1/2 oz brown/purple football head jig
4" Proworm on a dropshot rig
My go to baits are a LC poiter 128 in ghost minnow or chart. shad. My other go to is a huddleston trout if there is a swimbait bite.
chartruse spinner bait, and a red shad worm.
Depends on the season. Right now in prespawn you won't catch me without a weightless lizard tied on...either a Zoom lizard in tomato or a Wave Worm lizard in red plum swirl. An Xrap is right there in black shad, as well as a 1/2oz white spinnerbait Red River Tackle with the fluorescent red kicker blade). I usually have a Lucky Craft Moonsault Cb (100 for ponds...200/250 for lakes) in Chartreuse Shad tied on as well. Everything else is just experimentation.
I have a Megabass Crankbait that I always have tied on. Secret color.... ;D
4" Yum Dinger and a Bleedin Shad Rat L Trap.
A 5inch GYCB Kut-Tail can usually always catch me a fish, but I only tie them on as a last resort because they tear easily and the only way I can get them is from purchasing online.
As for the bait I have tied on the most, currently thats probably a jig mainly with a Yum Chunk or Paca Chunk, I use many other trailers but these 2 seem to be the best. I also tryed the ragetail chunk recently and the action is just incredible, it was freezing cold so I don't think it counts as truly testing the bait and I'll test it out as soon as these waters warm up. Im sure it'll be right up there with the yum chunk/paca chunk in no time.
Texas Rigged Gene Larew 7 ½ Salty Ring Worm Cinnamon Pepper Neon/June Bug Laminated (Camouflage).
Texas rigged Rage Tail Craw has increased my catch numbers substantially. I'll go with that!
I have a few for the different times of the year.
Winter: X-Rap deep, 3/8 oz. booyah jig, 1/2 oz silver hopkins(i replace the treble with a #4 owner dressed treble)
Prespawn: Spro Aruka shad Jr.(bluegill pattern)
Spawn:Strike King Bleeding Tube(white), Strike King 3x finnesse worm on a split shot rig or shakey head.
Postspawn: Carolina Rigged trick worm, Bomber Fat Free Shad
Fall: Bandit 100, 3 in. Gulp! minnow on a drop shot
every tourney I have:
char. spinnerbait
senko wacky or drop shot
jig
topwater for morning then change to crankbait
Topwater is always first in AM
5/8 football jig in peanut butter/jelly with a Paca Chunk. Or a Senko wacky rigged.
I usually look at the conditions and go from there. About the only "go-to bait" I have would be a 5" senko t-rigged, usually watermelon seed.
T-rigged june bug worm

Now THERE'S an intuitive lineup!
Roger
for me recently it has been a 5/16 oz eakins jig in either missouri craw or brown with a paca trailer...thats about it right now, last summer my best producer was a LC Fat BDS-2 in american shad
Cliff
oddly enough the renegade worm in watermelon or motoroil when it is worm, have not really fished enough when it is cold, but I would probably say a jig or a husky jerk.
Trixie Sweet beaver with a BMF hook, flipping it into the forest. I get my flippin stick, anything over 50lb braid, and haul the pigs out. Well pigs as far as the north goes lol.
Ol' Monster in a certain color... :-X
my football jig in green pumpkin or sweet beaver dirty sanchez
It changes by season.Right now it's prespawn on my lake and a suspending jerkbait followed closly by a shallow crankbait are my favs.In a few weeks it'll be a spinnerbait followed even closer by a lizard.
